[ P - Pre-Teen ]
By: YuYuYasha
Koenma's getting ready to take over Spirit World, but if it means marrying a girl he doesn't know, he might have to take things into his own hands. Get ready! This is going to be a bumpy ride!
“ Mister Koenma sir,” George, a blue ogre clad in only a striped loin cloth, began timidly, “ I have some information that concerns you.”
“ Well make it quick Ogre! I'm quite busy as you can see!” Koenma snapped and without looking up gestured towards the pile of paper work beside him with his thumb. George walked up to the desk, adjusted a folder in his left hand, and gave a heavy sigh. ' He's definetly not going to like this!' He thought before speaking again.
“ Well sir as you know your birthday is in thrity days from now and you have certain obligations concerning this,” George stated while calming himself by taking deep breaths.
Koenma stopped his on slaught of stamping paper work and peered at the blue creature. “ If your referring to my ceremony of taking reign over Spirit World, I all ready know,” Koenma replied while clasping his hands together, the stamp long forgotten. “ You've only reminded me at least two hundred and fifty seven times Ogre and if turth be told, I don't think I can take another session of your ridicoulus sobbing while rambling on like an old ninny of how proud you are of me.”
“ Of course sir!” George smiled nervously while a sweatdrop formed on the side of his face. “ But that's not why I'm here. Your father sent me.” The reaction of this statement was remarkable. Koenma's whole body went rigid, his face paled, and the pacifier sticking out of his mouth was drooping. ( a/n: I'd like to know how in the world he talks with that thing in his mouth!)
The small toddler jumped from his seat, clambered over his desk and grabbed George by his hair. “ DON'T TELL ME THAT FATHER HAS CHANGED HIS MIND ABOUT THE CEREMNOY?!” Koenma screamed in his face.
“No sir! He just wants me to go over these files with you regarding the ceremony! Thats all sir really! Now please let go of my hair!” George pleaded while flashing the folder in Koenma's face. Koenma released his grip on Ogre's head and plopped back in his seat.
“Of course father wouldn't cancel the ceremony,” Koenma said while crossing his arms over his chest. “ You overreact way to much, Ogre.” George rubbed his sore scalp.
“ Yes sir,” George replied through gritted teeth. “ These are the arrangements of the ceremony and there all in this folder.” George placed the folder on the desk and wathced as Koemna grasped the folder while flipping through the contents until something caught his eye.
“ Ogre? What is this section referring to?” Koenma asked while pointing at a section of the article. George went around the desk and stood behind Koema while reading over his shoulder. George shot up as he finished reading the section and began to sweat like crazy. ' This is what I was worried to begin with! Oh, I know he's not going to like this,' George inwardly groaned.
“ Well what's it talking about, Ogre?” Koenma asked again, but with less patience.
George coughed into his hand and replied, “ The section speaks of an engagement of some sort, mister Koenma.” George knew he was beating around the bush, but he'd rather recooperate after that last scene before there was any more screaming.
“ Engagement? How in the world does this relate to my ceremnoy?” Koenma egged him on while cocking his head to the side.
“ Well, that is- what I mean to say is- it invovles-” George stutterd out while Koenma was fuming in his seat and a vein pulsing in his forehead.
“ Get on with it man! What is it?!” Koenma barked while swiveling around in his chair to look at George.
“ It means you must be bonded in holy matrermony in order to take your place as ruler of Spirit World!” George rushed his words and waited for Koenma's reaction.
Koenma gave him a caculating look and asked, “ What does that mean exactly?” George fell down anime style. This was not what he was expecting. Gathering himself together, he shot up and dusted himself off.
“ Marriage in other words, sir!” George restated while wringing his hands together nervously. Koenma's left eye began to twitch and the pacifier fell from his mouth.
*Somewhere Outside the Office*
“ WHAT?!” Koenma's voice boomed whil ringing through out the halls and in the busy working area of the other ogres. The place was shaking to the very core and many of the ogres stumbled while others ran away to avoid the avalanche of papers cascading all over the place. Nothing could been seen except the ocean of papers. Then a green ogre named Steve came running down the hall and came to halt at the bank of papers.
“ Hey guys! I think its safe to say George told him of the arrangements,” he called out to any survivors under the white ocean. Suddenly the papers were stirring in twos. A red and purple ogre sat up while shifting papers out of the way.
“ I told you, Fred! I knew George would tell Koenma, that sucker. You owe me!” Bob said in rapture to Fred the purple ogre who was tending to a paper cut on his left index finger. Glaring at Bob, Fred rummaged under the paper with his right hand and produced a silver coin and flipped it over to him.
*Back at the Office*
“ How could he possibly tell me this at the last minute? Where am I suppose to find a bride this late in the game?!” Koenma spat while pacing on his desk back and forth while George thought of many possibilties.
“ Well,” George began thoughtfully, “ your father did mention of an arranged marriage.”
“ What?! There is no way I would marry a complete stranger. Heck, I'd rather marry Yusuke or Kuwabara than some witch who's after my title,” Koenma raged, but stopped his train of thought. ' Yusuke or Kuwabara as my bride?' Koenma thought to himself and tried to picture it. Yusuke would have his hair slicked back, and being the rebelious teen he was, would throw the white dress aside and make it a green dress. Much like his uniform. Koenma cringed. The very idea of Yusuke dressed as a woman was to absurd for his liking. Then he pictured Kuwabara. Frills, bows, and possibly glitter would adorn the dress. He'd be wearing pink lipstick and gaudy blue eye shadow. Koenma blanched and had to supress the urge to gag as he imagined having to kiss him. ' Okay that thought was beyond gross. Disturbing is more like it,' Koenma thought while shuttering.
“ Sir? Are you okay?” George asked while taking a tone of concern. Koenma sighed and jumped off the desk.
“ I'm anything, but okay Ogre. I wish my father would have told me sooner though. Then maybe I could have considered dating for once,” Koenma muttered more or less to himself then George. Then like lighting he perked his head up from extradoniary idea.
“ I've got it!” Koenma yelled while snapping his fingers. He ran back to his desk, opened a drawer on his right side, and there layed a red button. Koenma pressed it and an opening in the ceiling appeared. A huge closet case was descending to the ground and George watched in awe. ' When did he install that?' George thought in astonsihment. The closet was perched on the ground and Koenma ran up to it. He flung the doors open, pulled a suitcase from a its hidden confines, and flicked it open while stuffing clothes inside the case.
Snapping out of his thoughts, George asked, “ What are you doing, sir?”
“ I'm leaving for the Human World, Ogre so that I may find a bride,” Koenma replied while keeping the last set of clothing out.
“ What?! But sir your father has all ready chosen a bride,” George said while gaping like a fish. Koenma walked around the closet so he could change.
“ I all ready told you that there's no way I'm marriying some girl I don't even know,” Koenma called from the other side of the closet as he pulled a shirt over his head.
“ Sir, if you do this, you'll get a hundred- no, strike that! One thousands spankings from your father,” George hoping this motivate Koenma to stay out of fear. No such luck ( a/n: besides if he did, this be one short story!)
“ I don't care, Ogre. I'm going to find a bride my way and father's just going to have to accept that concept,” Koenma said while pulling on a pair of sneakers. He swiped his hand through his hair and stood up.
“ Somehow I think your father will find the concept a little illusive to grasp,” George mumbled to himself.
“ Well, Ogre what do you think?” Koenma asked appearing from his dressing area. Now in his adult form ( *drool* hottie ^.^ ), he wore a black pair of jeans, a red button up blouse with a white tee underneath, and white sneakers.
“ Very nice, sir,” giving him an approval thumbs up, but stopped himself shaking his head. “ Wait! I still think this is a bad idea!” He watched as Koenma plucked a red ribbon from his case and wrap it around his forehead so no one would see the Jr. symbol. It seem rather odd to be walking around looking for a bride saying, “ Hello! My name is Koenma, but don't let my tatoo fool you?” No that just wouldn't do he thought while shaking his head. He tied it in the back letting whatever ribbon was left to dangle. He closed the case with a snap and picked his suitcase up and walked briskly to the door.
“ Ogre, promise me you won't tell my father where I'm going to look for a bride,” Koenma asked as he he grabbed the door handle without looking back him.
“ But, sir-” George began to protest until Koenma turned around and looked him in the eye. He knew Koenma would be miserable if he kept him here to marry the girl of his father's choosing. All though Koenma could be a annoying at times, it didn't mean George wanted him to be unhappy. On the contrary his happiness was one of his many concerns. Not that he'd ever admit that to anyone much less Koenma. George sighed, “ All right. I promise.”
Koenma smiled and said while opening the door, “ Thank you.” Koenma popped his head out, looked both ways down the hall way, and when the coast was clear, he ran as fast as his feet would allow him to the left with his suitcase in his right hand. George watched him dissapear from sight.
“ Good luck, Koenma sir,” George mumbled and allowed a smile to play on his lips. But then it faltered when a sudden thought occurred to him. ' What am I suppose to tell his father when he finds out Koenma's no longer here?!'
“ Why do I get the stressful jobs?” Geroge moaned to no one in particular. He sighed. “ I need a vacation!” And with that he closed the door with a snap.
