Kagome spun around, head whipping around as she did so, to a sight she thought she would never witness in her entire lifetime.
The great and mighty Sesshomaru was on the ground, leaning heavily on the door frame of the well house. Hand covering his sensitive nose to the best of his abilities in a vague attempt to stifle the overwhelming scents. His eyes were watering with the attempt.
‘Must not laugh. Must…not……laugh….’
Trying her best to keep her laughter at bay, Kagome approached the ‘mighty’ Taiyoukai.
“What’s the matter Sessh?”
He blearily glanced up at her, his current miserable condition letting the truth slip out undetected.
“There are too many new overlapping scents.”
Kagome’s eyes softened a bit, “ Oh, a sensory over-load. Let’s see if I can help any.”
She quickly crouched down and slipped one of his arms over her shoulder. You can’t travel back to the feudal era without getting at least a little bit stronger after all.
Kagome headed towards her house which was just behind the shrine on her family’s property half dragging Sesshomaru along the way. After all, even after he was turned into a girl, he was still taller than her! And that just wasn’t fair from her point of view.
He however was just a little bit too preoccupied at the moment to object to being dragged along like a piece of luggage. It was hard enough to even stagger along and keep pace.
It was to this sight that Mrs. Higushera (sp?) was greeted to as she was cooking dinner.
Her daughter in a mud and grass stained sailor fuku supporting a disheveled woman with facial markings, mussed silver hair and running eyes that looked similar to Inuyasha.
Needless to say, she was shocked. The pot of rice currently rolling around on the ground by her feet was proof.
With a snap, Kagome’s neck whipped her head up at the sound of the pot clanging when it hit the tiled floor.
She had been too busy concentrating on trying to get Sesshomaru through the side door un-harmed that she had failed to notice her mother standing in the kitchen until it was too late.
Her mind scrambled trying to find a possible excuse.
“Uh…Mom! What are you doing here?”
Unfortunately, she couldn’t find one. Shaking her head she started again before her mother could think of anything to say.
“Never mind, just let me get her up-stairs first and I promise I’ll explain everything, or at least everything that I myself understand.”
Smiling weakly up at her mom from under her load, Kagome quickly hustled Sesshomaru up the stairs. She was half way down the hallway before it happened.
Damn that Murphy’s Law!
Sota opened his bedroom door, eyes growing as large as saucers as they fell upon his sister and the other strange girl.
“Sota, just don’t say anything, yes she is a youkai, and I’ll let you interrogate her later. But if you want to learn anything then just wait for me downstairs with mom.”
You could hear the click from Sota closing his jaw. He nodded mutely and headed off backwards down the hall.
Sighing Kagome finally made it too her room, and just in time! She was struggling with the weight by now, Sessh was no light weight after all.
She had barely toed her door open before his weight came crashing down on her. It seamed as if he had stopped struggling and had lost himself to sleep, at least that’s what she hoped.
It was all she could do to get inside and close the door. She was almost to her bed when her legs just decided to stop working and buckled beneath her.
And so for the 2nd time that day Kagome found herself on the ground with Sesshomaru’s weight on top of her. Pinning her to the ground.
All she could think before closing her eyes was a plaintive,
‘Kami…why me?’
