Inu: I still can’t believe she took this long! It’s beyond a reasonable time frame!
Koga: For once I agree with you mutt. The story was almost lost to be dust from time!

Kagome: how could you leave us like this?!

The door cracked open to revel a single foot adorned with a time worn toe sock while the owner of said sock started to speak before they were even completely through the doorway. “Kagome I just heard from your mother that-“a wrinkled head with grizzled gray hair cleared the edge of the door. Sunken aged eyes still sharp despite their years focused intently upon the couple on the floor.
Whatever else the man was going to say instantly left his brain as with a wild yell the door slammed open against the wall behind it and a cry of “YOUKAI!” was heard throughout the household.
Downstairs Mrs. Higurashi glanced at the ceiling quickly, “Oops. I guess I forgot to tell him.”
Back in Kagome’s bedroom a sudden burst of speed propelled the old man across the floor, sutras at the ready. The first sutra landed with a “Demon be gone!”
A sudden gust of air and the youkai, along with his granddaughter vanished completely.
Mouth gaping open, the old man wildly looked around, eyes finally coming to rest on one severely pissed off female youkai who was currently growling at him while her eyes started to flicker back and forth from a deep red to their normal golden hue. She was perched in a crouched position on the ledge of the window, it being open behind her. His granddaughter was securely cradled in one hand clutched closely to her chest while the other hand was slightly extended and starting to glow a faint greenish color.
Before he could even take another step in their direction to begin a second ‘attack’ he hear an exasperated sigh.
“JI-CHAN! What do you think you’re doing? You’re attacking another one of my friends! I thought we had already talked about this?”
“But-“
“I don’t wanna hear it gramps. Put your ofuda’s down and stop attacking my friends. I am quite safe and you know those thing don’t really work anyways.” Her hand was currently hiding half her face as she shook her head in exasperation.
“Fine! But when she attacks us all, don’t come running to me to save you!” That said he shuffled out of the bedroom muttering to himself about evil youkai and disrespectful granddaughters.
Kagome rubbed her temples in an attempt to stave off the growing headache with her eyes closed.
“I apology for my grandfathers behavior. He’s a little… impulsive… when it comes to anyone he perceives as a youkai.” Shrugging she glanced up at the still tense form of Sesshomaru nest to her. It was only then that she noticed the position in which she was being held.
Her eyes widened as she realized that she was being tightly cradled to Sesshomaru's chest. The now delicate looking claws slightly pricking her skin but not enough to bleed. Breath catching for an instant, a blush slowly starting to creep across her face, she was able to mutter,” Uh…. Sessh, you can let me go now.”
Seeming to snap out of whatever internal battle he was having, Sesshomaru tilted his head to regard the girl who was unexplainly in his arms. Blinking once he dropped her like a rock.
Having not expected that she fell like one due to her shock and hit the ground hard.
“Ow! Hey, that wasn’t very nice!” ‘Right, well that’s one moment ruined…wait, what am I thinking?!’
Sesshomaru barely even glanced at her sprawled form on the ground before gracefully stepping down off the window ledge and over her still form as if nothing had ever happened. Steadily heading towards the door through which her Ji-chan had just exited from only moments before.
“And don’t even think about killing gramps!” she called after him as the tips of his hair and Mokomoko disappeared around the still ajar door.
Sighing to herself Kagome stood and dusted herself off, “And so Sesshomaru encounters the future, great going Kags.” she grumbled to herself. ‘But ya know, that piece of fluff does fit him better now as a girl. I wonder if it’s a tail or a pelt? I’ll have to ask him later.’
“Well time to go see how much damage he’s caused so far.” Nodding her head firmly Kagome walked out of her room and started for the stairs, dread curling around her stomach with each step.
