Living for the Music
Chapter One: Kia and the Problem with Limousines
"Youko-san, are you ready, sir?"
The male addressed as Youko, turned to look at one of his body guards. He sighed slightly before nodding his head and walking over towards the exit of the door. His gleaming silver, long hair rested nicely against his back, standing out against his black, silk shirt. His golden eyes stood out, the color contrasting against his silver hair. His pale skin glowed dimly as the lights bounced off his features. He wore loose, white, silken pants with black dress shoes. He had put on some black shades the minute the door was pulled open. Screaming fans greeted him and he smiled as he waved. Ah, the life of a celebrity.
"Youko! I love you, Youko!"
He chuckled to himself lightly. How many times had he heard that phrase?
"Can I have your autograph?!" another female shouted out.
He felt obliged to give her his autograph, hoping it would make her evening. He walked over towards her, the only thing separating the two was a metal fence that stopped at the hips. He smiled, flashing her his pearly whites. She nearly fainted as she handed him a paper and pen.
"May I have your name miss?" he asked her, looking within her eyes.
She nodded her head numbly but said nothing. Youko chuckled to himself. "It's alright for you to speak."
"M-my name's Aiko."
He nodded. "Beautiful name."
She blushed and waited eagerly for him to finish what he was writing. He handed her the paper and pen with a small smile. "Have a wonderful night."
"Oh I will."
His smile widened and he continued to walk down the pathway with his body guard. They reached the limo awaiting them and both climbed in. The instant he was in, his smile and facade faded away, leaving an exhausted male in his early twenties. He brought his hands up to his face and rubbed it gently as the driver drove off towards his hotel.
"Hey, you alright sir?" his body guard asked.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine," he replied back as he rested his head against the back of the seat.

"Dinner is served," Kia said aloud with an accent on, having seen too many movies where the butlers rolled their R's and saying the E as an A.
She began to pile on the food, humming a tune softly. It was Good Charlotte and before she knew it, she had turned on her stereo, blasting the CD. She sat down at her table and read the newspaper as she ate silently with Good Charlotte playing in the background.
After dinner, Kia put on her shoes and a light jacket before leaving the household. Humming 'Predictable' out loud, she began walking along the streets. She waited patiently for the walk sign to indicate for her to walk. After a few minutes the sign changed and she walked out on the street.
As she had passed the middle, a limo came to a halting stop. She froze, too scared to move. She was a deer caught in the headlights. The tires screeched and the bumper touched her knees gently as the vehicle came to a complete stop. She let out the air she had been holding in.
"What. The. Fuck?!" Kia managed to say. "What the hell is your problem?! Learn how to fucking drive!"
All the passengers of the limo stepped out. She saw three people; the driver and two males.
"You could have killed me! What the hell?!" she shouted at the driver.
"I'm terribly sorry miss."
"What were you thinking? Did you not see the red light? Are you color blind? Huh? God damnit!"
"Miss, if you would please calm down," a silver-haired male said to her.
"Calm down?! Let's see you almost get hit by a car and then you can fucking tell me to calm down! Geez," she yelled to him.
"Do you want me to move her, sir?" the other passenger asked the silver-haired male in a whisper.
"Move me?! Nuh-uh. You people have already done enough, thank you very much! You're lucky you didn't hit me. No, scratch that. You're lucky I'm letting your driver off the hook."
With that, she began to stalk away in a huff.
"Miss!"
She ignored the calls.
"Miss! Please!"
"Buzz off jack ass!"
That made him shut up. Kia smirked to herself and continued to walk along the sidewalk. She felt a lot better after yelling. She hadn't realized how stressed out she was. She sighed loudly, relieved that a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She had made it to a park and sat down on a bench.
"I wonder who that guy was. Maybe I shouldn't have called him a jackass; he wasn't the one driving after all. Not much I can do about it now," she mumbled.
After roughly two hours of sitting in the park, she decided to walk back home. Reaching the road where she almost got hit, she checked both ways numerous times before crossing the road, crossing the road, and almost done crossing the road. She heaved a sigh as she made it across with no complications. A soft smile made its way to her lips.
"Something like that doesn't happen twice in one day," Kia scolded herself.
She reached her house and headed for her bedroom. Tomorrow was her first day of work, so she picked out some clothes. Afterwards, she changed into her pajamas. She brushed her hair and her teeth. She settled into her bed and grabbed a book to read before she went to bed.

The young celebrity stood shocked as he watched the female walk away in a storm. Her blonde hair swaying roughly behind her, shining in the setting sun's light. He watched every movement her body made, completely in disbelief by her actions. She must not know who he was.
"I wonder who she is," he mumbled to himself.
"What was that sir?" his body guard asked.
"N-nothing. Come on, let's get going. Drive more carefully."
"Yes, Youko-san."
With that, the silver-haired star climbed back into his limo with his body guard following closely behind.
"Do you think she knew who I was?" Youko asked.
"Huh? No, if she did she would have been swooning over you like most of your female fans."
Youko chuckled to himself. "I suppose. I haven't been treated like that in a few years... it felt refreshing."
"Sir? I don't understand."
He smiled. "I wouldn't expect you to understand, Horoshi. It's just that because I'm a celebrity everyone acts as though I'm some high man when I'm not. I'm just me, Youko Kurama. And that young lady reminded me just who I was. It's nice to have moments like those."
Horoshi, still puzzled, looked at Youko before nodding. He never understood his boss but he enjoyed his company and working for him. He held high respect for the celebrity. Youko was different from the others he had worked for. They had all been spoiled brats who believed that everything they said was to be revered as a savior’s command and that they were put on the earth to be worshipped. Yoko could be cocky and a bit of a jerk at times, but who wasn’t? He was more normal than most celebrities, that was all Horoshi could say. And he was glad.
"I hope I meet her again," Youko murmured to himself.
'I hope you do too' Horoshi thought. .§.§.§.§.§.
"Kuram a! I can't believe you," a chestnut haired male shouted.
His amber brown eyes were narrowed in anger as he continued to yell at Kurama, who by the way, had just gotten up fifteen minutes ago.
"You knew very well you and I were supposed to go to that meeting. How am I supposed to fulfill my job as your manager if you keep going to meetings without me?!"
Kurama chuckled to himself. "Calm down Koenma. You know, I didn't pick you to be my manager just because you were good. You're also my best friend. Don't you trust my judgment?" he questioned with mischief within his emerald eyes. (He was out of stage form. If anyone is confused, the whole ‘demon-soul-human-body’ thing still applies, but the two switch frequently between Yoko the Superstar, and Kurama the Human Counterpart. Get it? Well, nix on the fact that Yoko’s a demon. He’s not in this one. NO DEMONS! They’re just alternate personalities.)
Koenma's eyes softened and he ran a hand through his midnight black hair. He sighed, "Yes I trust your judgment. It's just we also want to get the best offer and with you as the negotiator it ain't gonna happen."
Kurama feigned a hurt expression. "That hurts."
Koenma smiled. "What? It's the truth. You're too soft for your own good. I'm surprised you didn't ask Touya to be your manager. He makes up for your softness."
"He does have a point," a slightly short male with aqua-ice eyes added.
Kurama rolled his eyes. "I know that Touya. But you were better off as the person in control of all the other people, not my manager."
Touya smirked.
"And Koenma, is it always about money with you?” Kurama asked.
Koenma smirked knowingly. "Why of course not Kurama. It's also about the girls!"
The red head shook his head. "I can't believe I asked you to be my manager," he mumbled.
"And me as your assistant manager," a red headed male commented.
"You should have been my manager," Kurama announced. "You'd be much better, Jin."
Jin smiled. "You know, we can always arrange that."
"What?! Hell no! He's not getting my job!"
"I was only teasing, Koenma."
"Yeah. Lighten up, Pacifier-Breath."
"Hey! You need to get ready. Hurry up Kurama or you'll be late," Jin randomly shouted.
All eyes widened as they glanced at the clock.
"Shit!"
"Fuck!"
"I'm late... fantastic..."
*§*§*§*§*§*
" Hello Mr. Youko, Mr. Daioh. It's nice to meet with you."
The two males bowed to the woman in front of them. She was much shorter than the two, with fading pink hair and wise brown eyes. She sat down as the two sat down as well.
"I suggest you read over the contract, right?"
"Yes and we have agreed to it all," Youko announced.
"So Genkai, he'll be co-acting with Jiro Hitachi right?"
She nodded her head.
"This movie should be off the charts! Youko Kurama and Jiro Hitachi all in one movie! Who would have thought?" Koenma said with a large smile on.
"Yes. Well my client should be arriving shortly. Sorry that he's late."
"No need to worry ma'am," Youko assured her.
He glanced around the restaurant. Just then a male with short black hair arrived. He had deep violet eyes, tan skin, and he was well built.
"Sorry I'm late. Did I miss anything?"
"Oh just the important announcement," Genkai told him. "They've agreed to the terms so now we can tell the director the good news."
"Great! Nice to have you on board Youko," he said sticking out his hand. Youko smiled and returned the shake. "I'm glad to be working with you.” Genkai then led her client out of the restaurant after paying for their meal.
Youko turned back to his friends. “Now, will you excuse me for a moment? I need to do something quickly."
He rose from his chair and left before any one answered. Koenma called after him, but he ignored the calls. Kia woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. She shut it off, happy to hear the sound of silence. Groggily, she got up from bed and headed for the bathroom. She took a shower and got ready for work. Her attire consisted of a green silk Chinese top with golden bamboo leaf embroidery and black pants. It was the uniform for the Chinese restaurant she had gotten a job at.
After she put her blonde hair back in a hair clip, she ate breakfast. Once breakfast was done, she brushed her teeth, grabbed her briefcase, car keys, and headed out the door. She locked it and headed down towards her light blue Mazda. The drive to work was quiet, except for the pounding beat of the radio. She strummed her fingers patiently on the faded gray leather steering wheel as she drove to work. Upon arrival, she entered the door with a “Nihao!” “Glad you’re here, Kia,” her boss called from the back. “Get to work!” “Hai!” At break time, Kia sat down in her chair with a huff. "Whoa, I have never imagined I would get this job. And I didn't think it had this much work!"
Shaking her head, Kia sat back down and turned to the next customer.
(Later)
Kia finished up writing the receipt for her last customer and stretched. She glanced at the clock. Time for lunch. She got up and grabbed her keys and some money.
Kia walked out to her parked car. Once inside, she drove off to a restaurant she heard would be a good place to eat. The Cat Café was good, but when you’re surrounded by Chinese food all day, sometimes you felt entitled to something different. She arrived and waited to be seated.
"Just one."
"Follow me," the hostess said.
Kia followed her to a table and sat down. She thanked her and looked at the menu. A few minutes later, a waiter had come and taken her order. She stared out the window, watching the many people walk by. Glancing around the restaurant, She noticed that it was an expensive one. The food better be good.
.§.§.§.§.§.
Kia&r squo;s waiter was just pouring Kia a fresh drink when a certain redhead ‘accidentally’ bumped his elbow, causing the carbonated beverage to spill everywhere. “Ah!” Kia cried in dismay at staining her silk top. “I am so sorry, miss!” her waiter cried, attempting to help her clean herself up.
"Excuse me miss," a smooth voice began. “May I be of some assistance?”
Kia turned around and her eyes widened in surprise. This guy was absolutely gorgeous. “U-Uh, sure,” she murmured, keeping her eyes on the stain on her shirt to avoid looking at the male. Between the two of them, they managed to prevent the soda from permanently staining. “If you don’t mind me saying so, you seem awfully tense.” Kia turned to look at the male who had helped her. “It's just, I'm stressed out from school and my new job."
He gave her a concerned look. "You're new here?"
She nodded her head. "Very new here. I just arrived yesterday."
He nodded his head in acknowledgement. "Well, if you wouldn't mind, I could show you around the town on your day off."
She smiled softly. "I'd enjoy that. Here, call me Saturday," she said as she wrote down her number on a piece of paper. "That is, if you're not busy."
"Oh no. I'm not busy at all. I'll call you Saturday then."
Kia smiled. "Great. It was nice talking to you..."
"Shuichi. Shuichi Minamoto."
"Right. Nice meeting you Shuichi. I'm Kia Fang by the way."
He smiled a smile that made her want to blush. "I can't wait till Saturday.”
She smiled and nodded her head. “Minamoto!!” Kia looked to the source of the yell to see a chestnut-haired man in his early twenties.
Shuichi sighed. “Well, I am afraid I have some business to attend to, Miss Kia. I shall see you Saturday.”
"Bye Shuichi."
"Bye Miss Kia."
She got her food and ate it in silence. She watched outside, finding it very interesting. Her thoughts had left the handsome red headed male while she gazed out the window. She looked down at her watch and immediately cursed.
"I'm going to be late," she mumbled.
Just then, her check had come and she paid in cash. Kia rose from her seat and walked briskly towards the door. She managed one last glance towards Shuichi and saw that he was watching her. She blushed lightly and waved to him. He gladly returned the wave before going back to his conversation.
Kia managed to get back to work on time.
.§.§.§.§.§.
Kurama and Koenma walked out of the restaurant. (Koenma had finally tracked Kurama down)
"So..." the brown haired male began. "Who was that chick you talked to earlier?"
"Hmm? Oh her? Just someone I had a run in with last night."
Koenma smirked at that. "Kurama, you sly dog. What'd you two do? Something freaky I hope."
The emerald eyed man just rolled his eyes. "It was nothing of that sort. In fact, she had yelled at me. I simply went over to apologize to her."
"And....? Come on, I know there's more."
Yet again, the male rolled his eyes. "I volunteered to show her around Tokyo."
"Fantastic! When's the big date?"
"Uh...Saturday," he whispered quietly and quickly.
"Huh? I didn't catch that."
"Saturday," he said quickly.
"What?!?"
Many heads turned their way.
"You can't be serious Kurama!"
The male cringed upon hearing Koenma's hollering.
"Kurama? Youko Kurama?! Oh my gosh! Where?!”
He turned his attention towards his manager and glared at him. "Let's go, Koenma."
"Why in the seven Hells would you go Saturday?! You know how important that day is!"
"It's only in the evening," he pointed out.
"Big whoop-de-fucking-doo!"
"Koenma! Watch your language. We're out in public," Kurama scolded. "Besides, I need some time off."
"But you don't have time for time off! How are you going to manage this?!"
The red head smirked. "You're my manager. You'll figure something out."
At this, Koenma nearly fell to the ground in disbelief. Once he recovered, he ran after his friend just so he could yell at him some more. But the celebrity wasn't paying attention. He was too busy thinking about a certain someone named Kia. Kia had just finished with her work. Standing up, she stretched and then retrieved her coat, having long taken it off after lunch. She smiled, glad with the amount of work she had gotten done.
She grabbed her items that she needed before leaving the restaurant and locking it.
She smiled at one of her co-workers who was working a late shift. "See you tomorrow."
Kia nodded her head and waved goodbye. On the way out, she listened as the customers talked amongst themselves.
"So, how's the family doing?"
"Well. Though my daughter is begging me to allow her to go to this concert on Saturday night in Tokyo."
"Who's playing?"
"I have no idea. Some band that she seems to worship. I'm thinking about letting her go, I'm not too sure."
Kia reached her car and got in. The drive home was uneventful. She had popped in a random CD and sang to it softly. All her friends have said she had a great voice, but she was shy when it came to singing. The only time she let loose was when she was home alone and the music was blaring ... or with close friends.
Kia had stopped at a red light and was looking at the people crossing the road when She nearly had a heart-attack.
"Midoriko? Minako?"
Sure enough, it was them. She stuck her head out of the window and shouted their names.
"MIDORIKO! MINAKO! GET IN MY CAR NOW!"
The two girls whipped their heads in Kia’s direction and smiled nervously. Minako jogged over and got in the passenger seat while Midoriko went to the back seat.
"So," Minako began, combing her hands through her long, straight black hair. "What's up?" she asked smiling, her violet eyes dancing with amusement.
Kia sent her a glare and then looked at Midoriko through the rear view mirror. Her gray eyes held guilt but she smiled none-the-less.
"H-hey Kia. Wassup?"
"Grr ... I can't believe you two!"
"What did we do?" Minako asked, moving out of her seat to face Kia.
"You're stalking me! After I told you not to listen to my mother. Why? Why couldn't you just say 'no'?"

Kurama and Koenma had made it to Kurama's house hold. It was a relatively large house, being three floors high. He had several bed rooms and bathrooms, an outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool. He had a tennis court, large yard, and a guest house out back. The guest house was currently occupied by his three best friends; Jin, Touya, and Koenma.
"Man. If you're late for your own fucking concert, I swear I'll have your head," Koenma threatened for the umpteenth time that day.
"I understand. Don't worry. I'll make it on time."
"What's going on guys?" Jin asked as he entered into the kitchen area.
"Nothing much," Kurama replied.
"Nothing?! I hardly call that nothing! This idiot over here volunteered to escort some girl around Tokyo."
"Yeah, so? What's the big deal?"
"On Saturday!"
"What?! Kurama what are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that I'm going to have a nice relaxing day and then have an awesome night performing for thousands of raging female fans. Oh and some male fans as well. Can't forget them," he said thoughtfully.
"You're out of your mind!"
Kurama simply smiled at the two over-worried men. What was the big deal? He had everything under control, so why couldn't they relax?
Jin sighed. "Alright. Anyway, how'd the meeting go with Jiro?"
"Fine. They've agreed and we've agreed. They start shooting in a few months."
"Fantastic. Where's it being shot?"
"Ireland."
"Sweet. I've always wanted to go to Ireland."
"I know what you mean," Koenma said with a sly smirk. "I heard the ladies out there are extremely easy."
Kurama rolled his eyes. "You say that about every type of woman there is. American women are easy. Spanish women are easy. Australian women are easy. Chinese women are easy. What woman out there isn't easy?"
"Japanese women are not easy at all," he said. "Especially Botan. God, I swear if she calls me one more time..."
"I believe that is your cell phone ringing."
"Ugh. Not again."
He picked it up only to have a smile appear on his face. "Oh hey Dad ... Yup ... Uh-huh."
With that, the two other males watched him walk off, probably in search for Touya. Kurama rolled his eyes. "He's too bad for his own good."
Jin smiled at that. "Yeah I know what you mean. Now, we have to discuss touring dates."
Kurama rolled his eyes. When did he ever get peace and quiet? He sighed and listened to what Jin was talking about, knowing full well it was important. Even though all he wanted to do was go to bed and dream about a certain golden-haired girl.
