The warning bells sounded, the den was on full alert. Some of the men had returned in very bad shape, with tales of their comrades deaths. No one knew for sure who made it out and who didn’t. A feeling of dread had everyone on edge, Kurounue or Youko, had not reported back in. By dawn word of their deaths had reached the den, Kurounue had been killed during the escape, and Youko was killed by a hunter. They had been betrayed by one of their own.
