CHAPTER ONE:
The rain trickled down the window in little forgotten rivulets. It's funny, something as small as a raindrop is very noticable when in large groups. Rain can bring life and death. It helps plants grow and flourish. On the other hand, it can be violent and flood an entire town, damaging structures and ending lives......
Shuuichi Minammino sat in his Earth Science class, listening half heartedly to what the sensai was saying. He usually would be at full attention, not missing a word from the professor. But today was different. Today he finally talked Hiei into going on a picnic in the park with him. Hiei is Kurama's best friend and companion. Though Kurama/Shuuichi wishes they were more. Hiei is the sexiest demon alive. Well, that's Kurama's view of him. Yes, Kurama is the name of the mighty Youko thief of the Makai. When he died as a Youko in the Makai, he cast his soul into a Ningen woman's son's unborn body. Thus creating Shuuichi Minammino, school brain and school hunk. Now taking the unborn baby's life might seem selfish, but Youko Kurama was a very selfish and arrogant fox. That is until that same Ningen mother taught him to.....love. That seems impossible, a ningen teaching a demon something like love? But, strange as it may seem, Kurama learned to love and have compassion and kindness. And for that, he loved Shiori more than life itself. In fact, he was willing to give his life to the Mirror of Utter Darkness, in exchange for Shiori to recover from a fatal illness. But back to the present.....
"Oh, Shuuichi, you're so kind!" The flock of school girls unmercifully crowded around Kurama as he attempted to head home. but I've got to go now, I'm in a hurry." *sigh 'It's the SAME thing everyday. He trys to do something, and he's immediantly surrounded by girls from his school.' The mass of infatuated girls swoon over hearing a hunk like Shuuichi Minammino thank them! He finally fought his way through the group, eager to get home and get ready for the picnic.
'I wonder if Hiei will even show up?' Kurama couldn't help but think that dreadful thought ever since he arrived home. 'Who am I kidding? I didn't even DREAM he'd even comply to my request.' Kurama sighed and resumed brushing his blood red tressed back into some kind of style. Finished with his hair, he walked to his big closet to try and pick something out to wear. 'What would Hiei like me to wear?' Kurama banished that thought immediantly. Why would Hiei give a rat's ass what I'm clothed in? Yet Kurama couldn't help but fantasize about that vertically challenged, foul mouthed, sexy fire demon. 'If only he'd let me see what's underneath....' ARGGH!! WHY couldn't he stop thinking about THAT for just a second?! He knew why......he was in love with the rude little youkai. Those ruby red eyes full of gruff but so full of innocence at the same time. The rough but well formed body. Kurama was so caught up in his thoughts, he failed to notice the window creeping open and the black clothed figure that came in the room. Hiei was masking his ki.
'Why did I agree to this?' The little fire demon scowled. He couldn't believe he fell for those big green as emerald eyes. 'All he has to do is use those green orbs, and I couldn't refuse the world to him if it was what his fox wanted.'His fox? Where'd THAT come from?' He knew where it came from......he was in love with that damn kitsune. The way he moves, the way he talks, the way he acts, he makes everything he does seem sensual. 'Damn that fox! Stealing my heart the way he did.' The way Hiei seen it, his heart didn't stand a chance against the greatest thief in the Makai. 'Well, at least I can say it took the BEST thief there was to get MY love! Ah who am I kidding, he snuck past the guards, one by one, killed off his defenses one by one. Tore down the walls around his heart, ONE BY FUCKING ONE!' He couldn't help but be pissed at how easily Kurama managed to get past his security so damned easy. It took his whole life to build those walls, and that stupid fox had to go and break them. Right now that lovely kitsune was busy browsing through that Ningen contraption........oh yes, a cl-os-et....he thought it was. It's where those ningens stored their clothes. Hn, he had no need for stupid things like that. But he couldn't tear his eyes from the graceful but humorous sight. Kurama was tugging on a suit of clothes that somehow got tangled on the hanger.
'Why won't this just come OFF?!' "Dammit!" Kurama hardly ever curses but these were extreme measures. A husky chuckle froze him in mid-motion. 'It couldn't be.....not this early.' But as Kurama slowly turned around, he was aware of the ruby orbs staring at him with amusement.
"Oi, fox. how can you let these Ningen clothes get the better of you?" heh heh... felt his cheeks flush in embarrasement at being watched while he was doing something incredibly stupid. He was mortified! Seeing Kurama's flushed cheeks, Hiei chuckled again which caused Kurama to speak. "S-sorry Hiei. I didn't expect you here til' later." Kurama tried to will the blush to go away, but it stubbornly wanted Kurama to suffer. "YOU'RE the one who wanted me here. Hn, stupid fox!" Hiei finished with his trademark insult of 'stupid fox'. couldn't help but be hurt by being called stupid, even thought Hiei calls him that every chance he gets.couldn't explain why it hurt so bad, maybe it was because it was a reminder that he could NEVER have Hiei, no matter how much he pined for him. 'I don't know why I even bother.....' But yet his heart wouldn't relent. It insisted on trying no matter what. "Well, Hiei, let me get dressed and we'll go." "............hn." Was all he got.
what's wrong fox?""I can't just undress and change with you watching!"why not greeneyes, you've nothing I don't have."Kurama was blushing again!

Yep, I know, it's USUALLY at the top, but I wanted to be different. Well, as I sit here, I've the vaguest clue as to where I'm going with this fic. I'm putting in a lemon later, so those of you without an open mind......why the fuck are you even reading this fic? Huh? God, people can be so narrow-minded.....*ahem.
