Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Mission Impossible ❯ What the Hell? ( Chapter 7 )
Disclaimer: Look at chapters one through six.
Kagome: All right. I just got home from college for the summer, so my muses decided they deserved a vacation. They left me ideas though, so I'm going to get them down, okay?
Chapter Seven: What the Hell?
Yusuke was not in a very good mood. It was only 9:00 in the morning, and he had already been walking for hours. True to her word, Genkai had woken them all up at dawn and started them walking. They didn't even get a chance to sit down for breakfast, but were eating it while they walked.
Yusuke snarled at Kurama, who was apparently one of those disgustingly cheerful morning people. He had no problem waking up at dawn and trekking however many miles it took to reach Daisuke. Hiei had shown up not too long ago. The little fire demon had the advantage of speed and so hadn't needed to be up as early as the rest of them.
The ningen did, however, take some enjoyment out of Kuwabara's mood. He was moodier than Yusuke in the morning. Naturally, Hiei had commented on that, and a fight had begun. Of course, it was no contest, and the little koorime flattened the big oaf, which amused Kurama and cheered Yusuke up considerably.
Now they were trudging through a swamp area, attempting to avoid the various youkai hidden in there. Speaking of youkai, one headed towards them, uttering a challenge as it moved.
Yusuke smirked, then spoke. "Let me take this one. He's weak, and I'm in a bad mood right now. Pounding a demon into the ground sounds real good right about now." The others just nodded and let the hanyou take on the demon.
The demon was only in the D-class, and Yusuke had no problem disposing of him. He didn't even have to use his Rei Gun. When he was through, they continued on their trek. They met several more demons, but none of them were very powerful, and all were killed quickly.
Hiei turned to Genkai and accused, "You said it was dangerous to get to Daisuke's. None of these demons are powerful, and there haven't been any traps. Where's the danger?"
Genkai retorted, "I said last night that it would be dangerous-and it would have. S-level demons come out around here at night. That's why we're traveling during the daytime."
Hiei just snorted and remained silent the rest of the journey. Nobody else spoke, either, all lost in their own thoughts.
Finally, around three in the afternoon, Genkai stopped in the middle of a forest and spoke, announcing their presence. Shortly afterwards, they heard childish laughter and a boy came out to meet them. The boy couldn't have been more than fifteen or so. He had chocolate brown eyes and cinnamon-colored hair set into short spikes. His hands were encased in gloves, and he wore a pair of goggles around his head.
His entire being radiated amusement as he greeted them. "Hello, Genkai and friends, and welcome to my home. I am Daisuke, but you may call me Dai if you'd prefer." Then he smirked. "I'm pretty easy to get along with, if you're careful enough."
Genkai just rolled her eyes, and clarified, "Don't be disrespectful to him, and don't call him -chan. He doesn't appreciate it." Daisuke just grinned and beckoned for them to follow him. Walking into a small clearing in the forest, they saw a small cabin. Around it, the forest grew wild, but the gardens were planted neatly in rows, and the house itself was kept trim and new.
Kurama smiled, appreciating the way this boy handled his plants, and curious as to what some of them were. Daisuke noticed this and grinned. "You're welcome to look around later, and I'll try and explain any of the plants you don't recognize, all right?" The redheaded youko just nodded his thanks, still gazing at the plants.
Dai shook his head, then brought them into the garden, to a large picnic table set in the middle of it. The table was filled with food, and the guests ate until they were full. Once done, Daisuke came back and sat down, waiting silently for them to begin.
Genkai began it, speaking of the mission and the solution, and then the recent complications. Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei filled in wherever Genkai couldn't. When they were done, they waited, seeing what Daisuke would come up with.
After about five minutes, Daisuke grinned, a spark of mischief shining in his expressive brown eyes. "You need to make yourself complete," he stated cheerfully. Everyone just stared at him, dumbfounded.
Yusuke was the first to recover. "What the hell? I know that, it's obvious! What I want to know is how to go about doing that!" By this time, he was screeching. He saw the others wince, but he ignored it in favor of ranting. "Why the hell did we come here if all you're going to tell us is that I need to complete myself?! What's the point?!" By now, he was furious.
Surprisingly, or perhaps not, depending on who's viewpoint we're talking about, it was Hiei who calmed him down. "Baka ningen. He's toying with you." The contempt in his voice managed to pierce through Yusuke's rant long enough for the words to catch up to him. Then he blinked bemusedly and sat back down, flushing.
Daisuke just grinned again, and spoke, traces of laughter evident in his voice. "As I was saying, you need to make yourself complete. In order to do that, you have to put all of you back together. That includes the youkai part of you. How you go about doing that is up to you."
After assuring them that there was no other way that he knew of, Daisuke offered to help them. When questioned about his motives, he just grinned cheekily and told them that he was impulsive and felt like helping, so he would.
Since it was late when they finished talking, they decided to just head for bed and start planning in the morning. They were surprised by how tired they were, and fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows.
None of them heard Daisuke moving around, or noticed him heading for Yusuke's room. Nobody heard him as he opened the door and slipped inside, padding over to the hanyou lord's bed. None of the guests saw him bend over Yusuke and gag him, or saw him as he gently picked up the teen and headed outside. Nobody was aware of anything that had passed, nor would they be for another twenty-four hours.
Grinning to himself, since there was nobody else conscious at the time, Daisuke carried Yusuke deeper into the woods, heading for the river, and the person that awaited him there.
Kagome: I know, I'm soooo mean! However, I will not continue this until I have 15 reviews. I already have 9, so once I have 15, I'll post the next chapter, okay? Review, please!
