Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ My Immortal ❯ My Immortal ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
~I'm so tired of being here.

Supressed by all my childish fears

And if you have to leave

I wish that you would just leave

'Cause your presence still lingers here

And it won't leave me alone~

You've been gone from me for seven years now. And I still haven't gotten over you.

I guess I deserve this for treating you the way I did....

The wound that you gave to me is still there. It'll never heal, not even with Yukina's powers.

~These wounds won't seem to heal

This pain is just too real

There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me~

You left me ever since I gave you that cold answer.

You told everyone you had to deal with business in Meikai.

It seemed unusual though. But unusual things have happened to us.

You just left. Left without saying goodbye.

Left without telling anyone what you were going to do in Meikai.

Left with a broken heart.

Things were different without you....

Genkai's temple was.... different.

Whenever Kuwabara and Yusuke argued, you weren't there to shut them up.

Kurama wasn't trying to restrain you from ripping them to shreds whenever they started to fight again after you stopped them.

Yukina got depressed. She missed you so much.

Genkai was just neutral. But somehow in her eyes I could see that she misses you.

Everyday I go to the Sakura Tree to see if you were there.

But you weren't.

Knowing you, the Sakura Grove was one of your favorite places in Ningenkai, next to Genkai's temple.

It was just quiet in the grove. I couldn't hear your breathing in the trees....

I couldn't hear you bicker with me anymore.

~You used to captivate me by your resonating mind

But now I'm bound by the life you left behind.

Your face it holds my once pleasant dreams

Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me~

I had to admit.... we were more than just allies.

We were more than just friends.

I felt like I could tell you almost anything, and somehow you'd understand....

I told you about my past.

You told me yours. Three times you tried to hold back your tears....

But they just trickled down your face.

You quickly wiped them off, thinking that I must think that you were pathetic.

But I didn't. I never did, not even for one second when you told me your story.

We were both damned from the day we were born. We were both hated.

We both had a Jagan, though you inherited yours, and I had mine's implanted by Shigure.

You were a wolf demon. I was a a fire demon born in a Koorime tribe.

~These wounds won't seem to heal

This pain is just too real

There's just too much that time cannot erase~

I remember the fateful day during Mating Season when you asked me that one question.

It's been only three years since we first met.

Yet it seemed like we know everything about each other.

You asked the question under the Sakura Tree in a simple way.

It was just a moment before I answered.

And I answered the question with a cold "No."

I didn't even bother to look back at your face.

It must have be full of pain. But I didn't hear you cry. I heard your footsteps fading.

Never thinking that you'd walk away from my life.

Please understand. It's not that I hate you or anything.

It's just that....

We're different from each other. You're a princess. I'm a thief.

It would never work out for us.

But you didn't know that was my reason why I said "No" to you.

I just didn't think I was the right one for you.

Three years later, I heard that you found yourself a mate.

The news of it really stung me. What had I done?

~When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me~

6 years passed, and now you're a mother.

Mother of three strong kids.

I watched them from afar, as they train with you.

None of them bore your eyes. None of them even inherited your Jagan.

They were different from their father too.

Your daughter spotted me, and yelled out your name.

I didn't leave. I wanted to see you.

You came running to your daughter along with your two sons.

You stopped in your tracks.

We stared at each other.

"Kids, go inside, and stay there. If your father comes, tell him I've gone off somewhere. Understand?" you say.

Your children nod their heads, as if understanding that you mean what you said, and ran back to the house.

You watch them go, making sure they get there, and then turn to me.

"What do you want?"

It pained me to hear that question. You were staring into my eyes.

"You've changed."

"Just get to your damn point, okay?" you say angrily.

"Are you mad at me for turning you down?" I asked.

Your anger cooled down, and you sigh.

"Is that why you're here? To ask me that?"

"No!" I said too quickly.

"I'm not coming back to you, Hiei. My place is here.... with them," you say, looking back at the house.

~I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone

But though you're still with me

I've been alone all along~

"Your children.... why are they different from you?" I asked.

You gripped your arm.

"It doesn't matter."

"Dreia, please answer!" I begged.

You just looked at me, puzzled.

"I have to get back and serve supper. You better go," you say to me.

"I'm not leaving until you answer me," I reply defiantly.

You look at me with your face full of pain.

"I've tried to get over you ever since you gave me your answer.... and I never did.

Those kids in the house aren't mine, Hiei. I adopted them.

I haven't been marked yet, but tonight I will be...."

You roll up the sleeves of your kimono to show cuts and bruises on your hands.

I was shocked. All those years I had thought you were happy....

"I made Botan tell everyone I was happy.... I didn't want anyone to know I was suffering.... beaten up and abused.

I couldn't fight back. If I did....

You'd be dead."

So all those years you let yourself be abused.... be beaten up....

"Why did you let this happen to you?" I asked.

"I tried to forget, Hiei. I tried so hard.... but my emotions wouldn't leave me alone. Everyday they bothered me to no end.

I wanted it to stop. I wanted it to go away...."

You cried as you tell me the horrible truth.... that you let yourself be tortured so you can get over me.

"I haven't gotten over you, Dreia. I couldn't do it.... even if I did try."

Your ears twitched.

"He's coming. You have to go," you say.

"I'm not leaving you and those children with that sick bastard."

"You won't be able to stand up to him, Hiei! He's from Meikai! Just go!"

"And let you be beaten up and abused, or even worse?

I let you go once, Dreia. I'm not doing the same mistake twice."

"Dammit, Hiei! Don't you get it?

Just get over me!"

You sting me with your words.

Did you really want to forget all those memories?

Memories that I held onto while you were gone all these years?

You run back to the house before I could protest.

I followed you, and watched from a distance, as a male demon warrior, a cheetah, apparently drunk, walk into the room.

You try to assist him, but he shoves you off, and gets onto the bed.

"Let's get on with this, wench.

Kids, get out. Now!"

The three children scurry out of the house, fear on their faces.

They went to the back of the house.

"He can't do this to her! He doesn't even love her!" one boy said.

"He's just going to use her and make her bear him children! And then he'll just dump her!" the second boy said.

"What do you expect us to do? Stop him?

Dreia-chan's already told us that we don't even stand a chance, even if we combine our strength!" the girl argued.

"What about that guy in the black cloak and the bandanna? Do you think he can save Dreia-chan?" the first boy asked.

"You know.... by the way Dreia-chan seemed to talk to him earlier.... he must have been Dreia's old boyfriend.... but he probably dumped her because people think she's too cold," said the second.

"Will you two shut it and concentrate on the problem?" the girl snapped.

I stepped out of the bushes.

"Maybe I can help...."

***************

"I'm definitely going to have a lot of fun tonight....

What do you think, Dreia?" I hear the drunken bastard say.

"I-I-I guess I c-c-could say the same...." you reply.

"Come on. Be certain of it. I mean, this is the first damn time we're going to do it, right? Your old boyfriend didn't even give a damn about how you felt.... so you might as well get over it."

Bastard. I feel like slaying you with my katana wouldn't be enough.

"Really, Kenju.... don't you think it's a little bit too early? I mean, Mating Season won't even start in two weeks!" I hear you say, trying to delay the marking.

"Come on. Who's going to wait that long to have the real thing going on with a demon like you?"

I couldn't stand another moment just standing outside.

I slammed the door down with my foot, and saw the bastard, already undressed, and only inches away from you, covering yourself with a blanket.

"Bastard. Dreia's mine," I said, drawing out my katana.

Kenju looked at me, anger clearly showing in his face. He then grabbed you by your neck and threw you to a wall.

"You damn wench! I loved you unlike your pathetic boyfriend and this is how you repay me? Die!" he yelled, charging at you.

Those years of beating must have weakened you, so I blocked his attack.

"You won't get her back, Forbidden Child. You threw her away like a worthless thing. She's never coming back to you," said Kenju.

"Then I'm TAKING her back," I replied, attacking the bastard with my katana, which he caught with one hand, and broke it in two.

"Hn. Don't be foolish to think that a mere katana can harm me, Jaganshi Hiei.

And don't even think that your Jagan can help you. True, Dreia would have finished me off with her powers....

But the thing is, it was being supressed by this."

The bastard held up a red gem with a string on it fashioned like a necklace.

"A remnant of the Archon Stone.... it supresses the damn wench's powers, and if she tries to use her Jagan, it will only bring her unbearable pain.

So you see, Jaganshi Hiei, fighting me would be useless, and trying to reclaim your wench would be pointless," said Kenju.

"But helping Hiei fight you is a point for the three of us!" the girl yelled, as she and her brothers charged at Kenju.

He had a bit of trouble fighting them, but he managed to send them flying to a wall.

It gave me the distraction I needed to snatch the damn Archon Stone off the bastard's neck.

But Kenju was quick to notice me near him, and hit me hard.

I just grinned, knowing that I had fulfilled my task.

"I hope you made sure that's your last grin. When I'm done with you, there won't even be a chance for you to do that silly grin," said Kenju.

"How are you going to do that without the Archon Stone?" I asked, smirking.

The bastard quickly looked down on his neck, and saw that the jewel was gone!

He started to get nervous.

"Ha! Not so tough without your jewel now, huh?" the first boy who spoke earlier remarked.

"Shut up, you brat! You're supposed to be on my side!" said Kenju.

"You just threatened us to go with you, and make you look like the perfect mate for any female demon....

But your little scheme ends now. We won't let Dreia-chan be one of your victims!" the second boy yelled.

"We're sick and tired of putting up with you! You murdered our mother, and now it's time that we avenge her death!" the girl added.

"You insolent brats! You will pay for your behavior!" Kenju threatened.

"I'm afraid that won't happen at all, Kenju.

I hope you've prepared yourself to face the dark areas of Rei Kai," I said, unwrapping my bandages.

I could see the cheetah trembling.

"I assume that you know about my dragon, seeing as how you're trembling right now," I said.

"Take Dreia if that's what you want! I don't want to cause any trouble!"

"You brought this upon yourself, Kenju," I replied darkly, unleashing the Dragon of the Darkness Flame upon the bastard.

The three children were in shock.

"So you're the wielder of the dragon.... just like Dreia-chan told us...." the first boy said.

"Dreia-chan!"

The girl ran to you. She then looked at me. I blushed and walked out.

"So tell me, Dreia-chan. Was that guy your old boyfriend?" I heard her ask you.

"He's not my old boyfriend. He IS," I heard you reply.

"Awwwwww!!!!!!! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!

You'd blush every time we mention him, right?" the girl asked in a teasing tone.

"Alexa! Stop it!" you say.

"Come on! Admit it! You're still in love with the guy!"

"Alexa, stop teasing Dreia-chan already! Everyone knows she IS in love with the guy, right?" the first boy asked, nudging me with an elbow.

I blushed.

"So what's his name, Dreia?"

"WHAT?!!"

"Come on. Tell us your mate's name already!"

"BUT HE HASN'T MARKED ME YET!"

"HA! SO YOU WANT HIM TO MARK YOU???"

"ALEXA, YOU BETTER STOP IT!"

"What? You look so cute when you blush! And your future mate's probably blushing too!" Alexa said mischievously.

"He is, Alexa! Come and see!" the second boy said.

'What the hell have you been telling these kids, Dreia?' I asked you telepathically.

You reply with a grin.

"I'll leave you two here in the house for the.... *coughcough* marking *coughcough*

Make sure you two clean up afterwards...."

And with that, I watched as Alexa ran out of the house, with you fully dressed now, determined to get your hands on the girl.

I noticed that you weren't running in your speed.

"RUN ALEXA, RUN! SHE'S GAINING ON YOU!" the first boy said.

"YOU AND JACK SHOULD BE RUNNING TOO, EDWARD! HE'S RIGHT THERE NEXT TO YOU!" Alexa replied.

"What's the guy going to do to me and Edward?" Jack asked.

An evil grin appeared on my face.

"Hn. A little payment for prying into other people's business...." I said, cracking my knuckles.

"RUN!"

The two boys began to run as fast as they could, but I managed to get them quickly.

And so did you.

Alexa was laughing so much as you tickled her, a smile on your face.

**************

"Wow. Never thought you two would get back together....." said Koenma.

I shot him a death glare.

"Are you kidding? You should have seen them when they were all-----" said Edward. I whacked him on the head.

"Tell me you didn't do anything in front of these kids!" Koenma said, horrified.

You growled, and in the blink of an eye, you pinned the brat on his desk.

"What was it that you just said?" you asked menacingly.

"Uh.... it's good to see you two back together again?" Koenma replied.

"Hn. I thought so...." you say, letting go of the brat.

"What do you have in mind for these three orphans?" I asked.

"Well.... since they seem to be so close to Dreia now...." said Koenma.

You quickly glare at him.

"We can't stay with her, even though we would like to....

Our paths are taking different directions now," said Alexa.

"But you can't live on your own!" said Koenma.

"Genkai could train them. She and Yukina could use more company in the temple," you suggest.

"The great psychic elder Genkai? Mentor to the great Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi?" Edward asked.

You, me and Koenma sweatdropped, with this expression on our faces: -_-

"He's not exactly great all the time. Only when he puts his brain to work," you say.

"Hey! I'm a great detective and even better than Sensui!" Yusuke yelled outside the door.

"Busted!" said Jack, snickering.

You walk to the doors, and open them. Yusuke and Kuwabara tumbled into the room.

"So good that you can join us after eavesdropping, ne?" you asked, a menacing grin on your face.

Yusuke and Kuwabara quaked.

"Do me a favor, and your asses will be saved from a lot of pain.

Tell Genkai she has three new houseguests. Their names are Alexa, Edward, and Jack.

And you better hurry!" you yell, as the two scurry out of the room.

"Wow. Who knew Yusuke would be afraid of Dreia-chan?" Alexa said.

"I HEARD THAT!" the detective yelled.

"What's gonna happen to you now, Dreia?" Jack asked.

"Hm?"

"What are you going to do now?"

You just grin.

"You and your brother and sister know that well enough, don't you?" you ask.

The three orphans grinned.

"Dreia.... you are a bad influence to kids," said Koenma.

"You're a kid yourself, Koenma. And you never complain about what I do," you reply.

Three weeks later.....

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER SHRIMP IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!" Kuwabara yellled.

He got two bumps on his head.

"What did you just call my child, Kuwabara?" you and I ask together at the same time.

"The kid's probably going to kick Kuwabara's butt just like his parents ne?" Yusuke said.

He then pulled Hiei aside.

"So how was the whole thing?" he asked.

"YUSUKE YOU HENTAI!!!!"

He got four bumps: two from you, two from Keiko.

8 months and one week later.....

"OH MY GOSH! THEY'RE SO ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!" squealed Botan.

"She's got her father's eyes, Dreia.... and your hair too...." said Keiko.

"He's got your features, Dreia-chan, except he got his father's hair.....

But if you inherited your Jagan, wouldn't they inherit it too?" Yukina asked, holding her nephew.

"No.... they won't. I don't want my children and Hiei's to suffer from the Jagan.... it is something I had asked the MoonSphere to do.

I've given up my immortality for them," Dreia replied.

"Awwwwwwww....."

I came running into the room the moment I heard you gave birth to our children.

"Awwww.... kids, look. Your father's here," you tease, showing me our children.

"They're twins! Though they may not look the same, but they seem like twins!" said Botan.

"WHERE ARE THE KIDS? WHERE? WHERE?" Yusuke and Kuwabara asked, looking around.

"Ahead of you, dimwits," you reply.

The two came running to you, and took the twins.

"Shit! One of them got the Shrimp's eyes!" said Kuwabara.

"The boy's got Dreia's eyes! But he's got Hiei's hair!" said Yusuke.

They gulped.

"Don't be scared. They're not harmless.... yet...." you say, grinning.

The two bakas gulped even more.

"I don't even want to think about these two all grown-up.... they'll probably kick my ass!" said Kuwabara.

The twins grinned.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! THEY'RE GOING TO KICK MY BUTT!!!!" Kuwabara screamed, giving my daughter back to me.

I gave her to Hiei so he could see her.

"So what's her name?" I asked.

"You decide."

"I'm not exactly good at naming people, except for Kuwabara," I reply.

"All right..... We'll name her Firea, sine she has your eyes...." you say.

"Could we name our son..... Fanagus?" I asked.

You look at me.

"I just hope there's a bit of Father in him," you say, chuckling.

Fanagus stares at you.

"But then again, I don't know how you'll grow up to be, so I'll have to be patient, won't I?" you say, as Yusuke handed him back to you, and you kiss our son on his forehead.

~When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

And you still have

All of Me~
