Last Stand

"damn it" Hiei hissed as Yusuke pour some rubbing alcohol on his leg.

"damn it, damn it" Hiei mutter to himself.

"its okay Kuwabara got a good head start following them" Yusuke assure Hiei.

Hiei couldn't walk his leg had reopened the stitches had all fallen out.

Yusuke wrapped it in some bandages.

Hiei still felt angry he was so close on getting the Redhead out. It just made him more angry to think about it.

"okay lets go now" Hiei said as he jump into his car and Yusuke followed behind him.

Hiei immediately change gears and was speeding down the highway.

Yusuke pick his cell phone and call Hiei.

"what?" answered Hiei.

"Kuwabara just called there at the site."

"the site?"

"yeah my same thoughts"

"I'll meet you there." Hiei said

Hiei hung up and drove faster.

"damn" Yusuke muttered Hiei car was built for speed his was not.

"luck buddy" He whisper.

Hiei was glad the highway was deserted he really didn't feel like fighting with incompetent drivers taking up space and not moving.

"the site, why the site?" pondered Hiei as he drove.

Kurama felt cold as he shiver he open his eyes and wish he still had the blindfold on.

He was close to the edged looking down. he gulped he knew he was very high above ground.

He wiggled his hand they were tied up.

He try to look beside him there was Bui standing beside him Karasu.

"do you now where we are?" asked Karasu.

Kurama shook his head.

Karasu walked closer.

"This is where Hiei was swinging and by, oh, accident his rope snapped and he was pummeling down to his death."

Kurama looked down he could imagine how Hiei could have felt knowing he was about to meet certain death.

Kurama looked down again.

"why are we here are you going to kill me" He said resentfully.

"on the contraire your bait, the one I want dead is Hiei if he's dead then well, no one is going to come for you. I mean your a whore. I don't know what he saw in you maybe he just wants you for his entertainment. After all your are very beautiful." Karasu cupped his face and ran his finger caressing his face.

Kurama turn away not wanting to be touch.

"don't worry you'll soon won't be able to resist me."

"Bui go meet him when he arrives I know one of his friends followed."

Bui nodded.

"I'm going to enjoyed the death of your Hiei." Karasu chuckle as he lit a cigarette and blew the smoke in Kurama's' face.

Hiei reached the site and immediately ran inside the compound.

He was about to reach the elevators when he was grab from behind.

Hiei immediately turn around to swing.

"Oi Shrimp it's me" whispered Kuwabara

"asshole I thought you were someone else." Hiei hissed.

"sorry, look Kurama is on the last floor and that guy the guard he's either on the third or second I can't tell very well."

"thanks wait for Yusuke and then come up."

"no, I can't let you up there alone"

"Kuwabara listen to me this is my fight you and Yusuke helped a lot and I truly appreciate that now wait for him to get here. Afterwards I guess you can call the cops or what ever."

" Hiei take care I don't want to tell Yukina you die trying to be hero."

"you won't" Hiei smile and continued on his way.

Hiei slowly made his way toward the elevators. He checked his guns and tighten the brace, the blood had already dried up.

He winced slightly his leg was killing him now. He could fell it cramping up and he couldn't do anything to avoid it he continued walking the elevators were suppose to be shut off. He stepped in side and pushed the button for the last floor.

As he was going up the elevator stop and the doors open on the second floor. He waited for any attack ready to shoot.

Slowly the doors close again.

He felt his heart beat faster he knew that before he got to Kurama he was going to fight.

The doors open again he wiped quickly the sweat on his fore head.

He didn't want to admit it but he was nervous he actually felt a shiver up his spine.

His heart was beating faster he felt knots of tension build in his neck. his stomach felt heavy and his mouth was dry he lick his dry lips.

All his life he knew the outcome of thing he always had a notion of thing a premonition gut feeling, but today right now he wasn't even sure if he was going to leave alive.

Many memories ran through his head. He chuckle he really did live a lonely and miserable life.

He found love on the dark streets.

He was always told how someday he would find the perfect someone, he thought it would be over some fancey dinner or one of Yukina's lunch date's.

After all she did try to hook him up with people. He remember when he confess to her about who he was she was very understanding.

He love her so much, she was his only reason of living but when he met Kurama he felt a new desire a new love a surge of.... a feeling something he couldn't explain but he felt happy and saw everything differently no longer half empty glass, but as there will be a tomorrow to look forward with the one you care.

He shook his head and exhale as the doors closed and the elevator move upwards again.

The elevators doors weren't even open the whole way when Bui stuck his hand in and pulled Hiei hard slamming him to the doors and then pulling him out. He threw him across the room in the process Hiei lost his gun.

Hiei groaned as he hit the floor and rolled around a few feet he was about to pulled the other gun the one

behind his back, but didn't get the chance Bui tackle him and punch him in the face.

He felt something cut through his skin he quickly touch his face above his left eyes he felt a deep cut.

Hiei felt his blood run like water down his face.

He couldn't see his eyesight was cover by blood and Bui had a great in fact many advantages.

Hiei stood up slowly trying to find Bui.

He turned around slowly walking around in circles trying to find the bastard. He heard light foot steps behind him he quickly turn around to find Bui behind him.

Before he could do anything he felt Bui's foot connect with his stomach. Hiei stumble backwards coughing up. He spit into his hand and realized he was coughing up blood. He groaned as he stood up straight.

He took a fighting stance ready to block any oncoming hits.

Bui chuckle and charged him. Hiei quickly side step pushing Bui, causing him to stumble forwards. Bui snarled as he quickly swung his left arm backwards trying to hit Hiei, but he was too far away.

Quickly Bui turn around and charged him again but in lower speed he saw which direction Hiei was going to move and extended his arm towards Hiei direction.

Bui's arm connected with Hiei's throat, Hiei immediately fell backward his neck going back and him landing on his back hard.

He felt Bui's heavy foot on his chest. he felt his heel dig in he grabbed the foot and tried to push him pull him off but neither direction work.

He heard Bui chuckle and that enraged him. Hiei wrapped his arm at the back were Bui was standing and role down to his side causing the guy to stumble. Hiei quickly turn to his back again and quickly kick Bui with his left leg on the back of his causing him to fall down.

Hiei quickly turn around and hoisted himself with his sword and stood up.

He look down again an Bui was gone. he look around and felt something behind him he look slowly turned around. He gulped as he looked up all he could make was a tall dark figure laughing.

Bui raised his hand to punch him again.

Hiei move sideways and grab the oncoming hit he used all of his strength and twisted his arm around and kick him in the lower back causing the guard to stumble downwards.

Hiei back away quietly maybe he couldn't see because of the hit or couldn't move fast but his was his site he knew this place better than anyone after all he crawled all around it wiring the stupid place.

"Bui your in my domain" he whispered to himself.

He heard foot steps in front of him.

He quietly crept around trying not make any noise.

He unsheathed his katana and stuck it by one of the pillars near him. he looked up and saw two metal poles crossing each other he jumped and grab a hold of one hoisted himself up and crouch on both waiting for his prey.

The sword glistened with the light of the moon.

Bui saw the reflection and walked towards it he was surprised to find no one.

"what the-" he never finish as Hiei jump from out from where he was hiding.

He gave and upper cut to Bui, his chin went upwards causing him to bite his lower lip. Quickly Hiei punch him in the gut and the did a straight kick up hitting his chin again.

Bui hand immediately went to cover his mouth he wiped his lip and spit out his blood.

"your going to pay" Bui snarled.

Hiei was surprise he never heard him speak before.

Hiei immediately charged at him but his knee gave out when he was about to reached Bui. He was kneeling in front of Bui he looked and saw Bui fist descending down. Hiei grabbed it and pull him down he turned his shoulder and lifted his elbow Bui's neck connected immediately Bui gasped for air as his wind pipe was almost completely crushed. Soon Bui was knock out.

Hiei saw the unconscious body and winced.

"damn you have a hard face" he told the unconscious Bui.

He tied him up with some chain and went back to the elevator.

He wiped his face with the corner of his shirt.

He spit out some blood from his busted lip and injured throat.

"damn Yukina is going to kill me for this" He ignore the thought.

Now it was Karasu's turn.

Yusuke arrived at the site and found Kuwabara waiting by his car. Hiei's car was parked behind him.

"Hey where's Hiei?" Yusuke asked

"Inside. He wouldn't let me go with him."

"Damn." Yusuke muttered.

"So what do we now?" asked Yusuke

"He told me once you arrive we could either call the cops or wait."

"What do you think we should do?" asked Yusuke.

"I think you should wait." someone said from behind them.

Quickly Yusuke and Kuwabara brought their guns out and pointed at the man behind them.

"Gentlemen please lower your weapons there is no need for that." Sakyo said

"Who are you?" asked Yusuke

"Sakyo. And I know Karasu and I know that he won't win this." Sakyo said as he lit a cigarette.

"How do you know?" asked Kuwabara

"Because I'm a betting man and I've have never been wrong in my life."

"Cocky" scoffed Yusuke.

"I may be. Now here" Sakyo handed Yusuke a folder.

"What's this?" asked Yusuke.

"These are papers revealing Karasu's actions for the last 12 months. He's a drug dealer and these are some of his transactions." Sakyo explained.

"Wait but won't you get in trouble?" asked Kuwabara.

"No my business is clean. I don't do what he does. As I was saying. You broke into his home and took these out and Kurama just happened to be an innocent bystander."

"You're giving us a story to tell the police?"

"Without those papers you three could be charged for trespassing and assault. And Karasu woud be the winner. But with these you three win and get rewarded for bringing him down. No one could find any evidence on him so he was always let go"

"Why are you doing this for us.?" said Yusuke

"As I said I'm a business man. And I think I may get a large discount on my building from the help of you three with the Enma cooperation."

"Damn we can't do that!" Kuwabara said

"Oh you can." Sakyo smirked

"Shit" Yusuke muttered

"What?" whispered Kuwabara

"Our paychecks are going to go down with that discount"

"Oh damn..." Whispered Kuwabara

Kurama shivered as he tried to loosen the ropes. They were cutting the circulation from his hands and he felt them go numb he couldn't feel them anymore.

Karasu walked back and forth while waiting. He hoped that Bui had finally gotten rid of that Pest Hiei.

He checked his pistol.

"Good loaded" he whispered.

He walked towards Kurama and lifted his chin.

"You know I bet your boyfriend is suffering and dying a slow death."

"Asshole you're wrong. He's going to beat Bui and then he's going to make you pay for everything. And your going to wish that you were never born. And I hope he shoves his foot so far up your ass that your breath will smell of shoe polish." Then Kurama spat at him.

Karasu grabbed Kurama's chin and shoved the barrel of the gun inside Kurama's mouth.

"I'm going to have to teach you some manners ne?"

Kurama glared at Karasu.

"I hate you. You asshole" Kurama thought. as the gun was pulled out of his mouth.

Karasu approached Kurama

"you may hate me but I will change that" Karasu said as if reading his thoughts.

"once all of this is done you're going to wish you-"

Suddenly there was the sound of the elevator doors opening.

Karasu and Kurama froze each wishing it was....

"Damn" curse Karasu.

Kurama was about to call out Hiei's name when Karasu punched him in the stomach.

Hiei's knees buckled under him. He slowly stepped out of the elevator.

He tightened the brace and wiped his face with a corner of his shirt.

He was bleeding badly. Bui hits were very painful but what ever he had in his hand caused a big cut over his eyes.

He heard a muffled grunt and slowly walked towards the sound.

"I think that's close enough" he heard someone say.

Hiei stopped, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from.

Then he heard another muffled sound.

He slowly took another step and a shot was fired next to his feet. He jumped back taking out his gun.

"Drop that."

Hiei squinted his eyes trying to make out the figure in front of him.

He slowly placed the gun in the ground.

"Kick it away from you." Karasu ordered.

Hiei did so, making a mental note to himself of where he kicked it.

Hiei blinked a few times to get some of the blood in his eyes to drip out. He made out another figure slumped behind the one talking and holding a gun.

Kurama wanted to warn Hiei but he couldn't. Karasu had gagged him and he couldn't speak.

He struggle a bit. The ropes holding him were beginning to loosen.

Karasu walked a bit towards Hiei. He wanted to make him suffer for being such a pest and interfering.

Hiei stepped back when he saw Karasu approaching him.

"Stay where you are" Karasu said.

"or" Hiei said. Karasu shot towars were Kurama was.

Hiei did so. He placed his hand behind him, searching for his sword then he cursed He left it stuck in the pillar downstairs.

"Damn" It would be too obvious if he bent down to retrieve his other gun by his leg.

Karasu shot and the bullet landed close to Hiei's feet.

"Would you dance if I made you?" Karasu taunted firing another bullet.

Hiei growled and jumped away from the oncoming bullet.

Karasu chuckled.

He approached Hiei, firing another bullet.

Hiei slowly crouched to retrieve his gun when Karasu shot and it nicked his hand.

Hiei hissed in pain.

"Tsk tsk tsk stand up." Karasu Ordered

Hiei did so. He was in a bad situation. He didn't know what Karasu had in mind, and he couldn't concentrate while seeing Kurama squirming. His over active imagination wasn't helping either.

Karasu, finally in front of Hiei he punched him.

Hiei stumbled backwards. Then he wiped the blood from his lip.

Hiei clenched his fists so tight his knuckles turned white and they ached.

Just one second. That's all he needed. Karasu had to be off guard for just a second and he could do it.

He just might be able to do it.

Kurama kept struggling and shaking his head to make the gag get loose. He shook and spat.

Finally he felt the thing fall down.

"Hey Karasu you asshole!" Kurama screamed.

Karasu spun around expecting to find Kurama untied.

Hiei took this chance and tackled Karasu to the ground.

Karasu dropped his gun but quickly turned around and grabbed Hiei by his shirt. Both were rolling on the ground. Hiei landed on top of Karasu and punched him in the face. Karasu kneed Hiei in the stomach, knocking him off.

Hiei rolled and tried to get up, but Karasu got up first and kicked him in the stomach.

Hiei tried to roll away but Karasu kick soon came in faster and more vicious each time.

Kurama kept trying to get free. He could feel the ropes cut into his skin but he kept struggling, and winced when he saw Karasu kick Hiei while he was still on the ground.

"Asshole..." Kurama mumbled lowly.

Hiei grabbed Karasu's foot, blocking the next kick coming. He lifted his leg causing Karasu to lose balance and fall on his back. As Karasu was sitting up Hiei rolled and kick him in the face. Then Hiei quickly pulled out his gun and tried to stand but his leg buckled on him and he fell down on his knees.

Karasu quickly got up and kick him again then he got on top of Hiei and punched him over and over again.

Hiei felt as if he was about to lose consciousness. He tried to get his hand free to punch back. he finally managed to swing his arm and he felt connect with Karasu's left cheek.

Suddenly Karasu's weight was pulled off of him.

Hiei rolled over on to his stomach to see Kurama on top of Karasu punching the shit out of him.

Karasu managed to push Kurama off both stood up quickly.

Karasu charged Kurama, Kurama stood there crouching once he felt Karasu close he charged pushing him back and slamming him on a wall.

Kurama raised his hand and punched with all of his might. Karasu knee's quickly gave out on him.

Kurama started to kick him when Karasu trip him. Kurama fell down and Karasu rolled on top of him and was about punch him when Kurama raised his knee and him and kick him in the back of his thigh Karasu stumble forwards and Kurama swung his head connecting with Karasu nose.

Karasu groaned out and fell backwards. Kurama climb on top of him and punch him swinging each arm connecting with each side of his face. Karasu head was moving from side to side he tried to move but soon felt everything go numb and pass out.

Kurama still kept punching his hands were full of blood, his breathing shallow. Soon his arms began to ache but he kept on punching.

He was mumbling.

"This is for everything you've done you asshole. This is for not letting me live my own life. For manipulating and threatening me. For Hiei... For me... For everything!"

Hiei soon stood up slowly and walked over to him.

"Kurama, he can't feel anything anymore you knocked him out."

Reluctantly Kurama stopped swinging his arms and he stood up with tears stinging his eyes.

"I'm sorry" Kurama whispered.

Hiei suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed and passed out.

"Hiei." Kurama bent down. Hiei was bleeding badly from his leg and face.

"Hiei..." he tried to wake him up.

He lifted him with difficulty. His hands ached from lack of blood circulating to them and all the punching. He walked toward the elevators.

Sakyo blew some out in to the air and took another long drag of his cigarette.

"You know those things kill." Warned Kuwabara.

"I bet I'll die of something else instead of some lung cancer." Sakyo commented.

Then all three heard shots being fired.

"I really hope Hiei's doing all of that." Yusuke said.

"Yeah" agreed Kuwabara.

After a while they heard the elevator open.

All three rushed towards it.

Kurama was dragging an unconscious Hiei.

"Whoa!" Yusuke exclaimed as he picked Hiei up and carried him towards his truck.

"You better get him to a hospital soon." Sakyo said.

"Yeah come on I'll take you" Said Kuwabara

"I'll stay and give the cops what we said" Yusuke stated.

"Thank you" Kurama said as he stepped inside Kuwabara's car and pillowed Hiei's head in his lap.

Once Inside the Hospitals it was chaos. Kurama was separated from Hiei and taken somewhere to treat his minor cuts.

Hiei was taken immediately to a trauma room. He had lost a lot of blood.

Terrified Kurama saw how back and fort nurses and doctor enter the room with supplies,

Kurama wanted to go in and see but Kuwabara stop him.

"don't it be best if we wait."

Kurama just look again and through the mess of people he saw Hiei lying on a gurney, pale and so defenseless.

Hiei's clothes were cut and throw in a pile on the floor soon the a puddle of blood and dirt was created.

Kurama didn't even flinch when he was being treated.

Suddenly Kurama heard Hiei's monitor beep indicating he flat line.

"somebody get a crash cart" someone scream.

"charge to 200 hundredth" Hiei was shocked but nothing.

Kurama stood up and was about to rush in when Kuwabara grab him from behind.

"No let me go You got to let me go" he struggle. This couldn't be happening Hiei had to be okay.

"Be patient Hiei will be alright" Kuwabara's voice started to break " shrimp will be alright you'll see he is going to be fine."

"Charged to 250" nothing.

"hope so" whispered Kurama he closed his eyes.

"charged to 300" Hiei body bolted upwards and his heart beat started again.

Kurama sighed of relief and open his eyes.

"see shorty is always comes through." Kuwabara stated.

"come on hurry up lets get him to the O.R we can still save his leg." a doctor said as the move Hiei towards the elevators and to the next floor.

Kurama stood up to follow.

"um sorry sir but we're not done treating your injuries." the nurse attending Kurama said.

"don't worry I'll follow him" Kuwabara said as he stood up.

"arigatou" Kurama murmured as he saw Kuwabara's retreating back following Hiei.

Hiei slowly open his eyes the room was dim he felt something in his throat and his whole body felt numb.

He try to move but was stopped by a soothing voice.

"Hiei don't try to move you just came out of surgery. you have a tube in your throat to help you breath the doctor says they'll take it out in the morning." Kurama ran his fingers through Hiei's hair.

Hiei looked at Kurama he look so sad that made his heart ached. he wanted to tell him that he didn't need to apologized. Hiei wanted to tell him to hold him to let him know that everything was ok.

Hiei close his eyes as long as he was like this he couldn't do anything let alone say anything.

Kurama leaned down and kiss his forehead. He sighed and wiped a few tears escaping his eyes.

"rest you need it, I'll be here when you wake up."

Hiei nodded and close his eyes letting sleep overwhelm him.

Hope this is better I was kicking myself for doing a crappy job turn out my summer was more busy than school time go figures.
