Ch. 2: Mirror Images

Kurama pulled into the parking lot of the school. His brother was grinning ear to ear.

"I love your car rides!" Kenshin let out a whoop and slid out of the car. "I wonder where Kaoru is." He glanced around before heading toward their friend Sano.

"Probably hangin' out with Boton and Megumi, like always." Kurama shook his head. `It's a wonder he stayed with her so long. Usually he jumps from girl to girl like a frog on weed. (A/N: no pun intended) She's good for him.' He locked the car and started after his brother.

Kaoru thanked her father for the ride to school and turned toward the campus, searching for Kagome, Sango, and Maura. She smiled when she saw Kenshin waving to Sano. That red hair was unmistakable, except for his brother, Kurama. They were headed for Sano and Hiei. `Why is he so anti-social? I should introduce him to Sango. Hee Hee, now that would be hilarious. Where are they? They said…ohhhh! There!' Kaoru spotted them. She shouted their names and began to run toward them. They saw her and started toward them. They met in the middle of the front lawn, not to far from Kenshin, Sano, Hiei, and Kurama. She grabbed Kagome and in a hug and laughed. Sango and Maura gathered in for a hug, too. They all started talking and giggling at the same time. A voice interrupted their reunion.

"Mind introducing us to your friends, Ru?" Kaoru let go of her friends and hugged Kenshin. She wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed a kiss to his lips. Kaoru pulled back and smiled up at her boyfriend.

"Ken this is Kagome, Sango, and Maura. They're from Higentai(1). They're my friends from back where I came from." He smiled at the three girls who currently giggling at the two of them.

"Hi, I'm Kenshin Minomura(2). That's Sanoske Sagara, Hiei Jaganshi, and my twin bro, Kurama Minomura." The guys smiled at them, except for Hiei.

"I gotta go find Megumi. I'll see you quys later. Oh, and welcome to Merijin High." Sano said as he walked away. Kagome turned her attention to the red-head standing beside Kaoru and her boyfriend. He said they were twins. They look almost exactly alike, well except for their eyes. Kenshin's were purple. Kurama's were green. `Wow, his eyes are beautiful. Like brand-new spring leaves.' She decided to talk to him.

"Hi, I'm Kagome. Nice to meet you. Your name's Kurama, right?" Kagome smiled up at him. `Wow, he's tall!' He smiled back at her.

"Yeah. Nice to meet you too. So your one of Kaoru's friends. She always talks about you guys." `Wow, she's just tiny.' Kagome laughed. Kaoru always did talk too much. "She's really good for Kenshin. She keeps him out of trouble." She smiled again.

"I'm surprised. Kaoru has a knack for trouble. She was always in the detention room, or grounded for something. Most of the time it wasn't her fault, but…wrong time, wrong place I guess." The two of them laughed again. The bell rang and Kurama groaned. Kenshin snickered at him. The rest of the group turned to look at them.

"What's wrong, Kurama? Do you feel sick or something?" Kaoru looked worried.

"No, he's got Stephabitch first thing this morning." Kenshin had a hard time holding in his laughter as he explained. Hiei and Kaoru winced. Kagome, Sango, and Maura looked confused.

"Actually, her name is Mrs. Stephanitch. Everyone calls her Stephabitch cause she's a bitch." Kurama told them. The three of them pulled out their schedules.

"I've got Davis." Sango announced.

"Same here." Maura looked at Kaoru. "Who do you have?"

"Bannock. You guys are with Mr. Anti-social." They gave her a couple of blank looks. "Sorry, you're with Hiei." Hiei glared at her. "He doesn't talk much."

"Hn."

"I told you so. That's pretty much the only word in his dictionary. Oh, and Baka, Busu, Pathetic, and a few more derogatory terms." Kaoru giggled when he glared at her again. "Kagome?"

"Um…first hour with Kurama." She sighed. "I'm scared now. She's probably going to send me to detention as soon as she sees me."

"You're probably right. That's what she did to me. Well only after I accidentally hit her with the door." Kaoru grinned at her friend. "Good luck." Kagome sighed and followed Kurama to the school, waving bye to all her friends, and preparing herself to face the devil. `At least Kurama is in there with me. He's got a cute butt.'
