Chapter 23

[Park]

"I-I'm glad that you're safe, Rai..." Hiei said flushing pink. He and Rai decided to take a walk in the park to get some fresh air and enjoy the rest of the beautiful day.

"Thanks for caring, Hiei." Rai said while smiling gently at him. She wore a white short sleeve belly shirt and a long dark blue scarf around her thin neck. She wore a dark blue skirt above her knees and white boots and carried a white leather purse. Her dark brown hair that ended at her back was in a low ponytail.

Rai clung to Hiei's arm while Hiei was blushing like crazy.

'Why did Rai choose me to go on a walk with her? Could this mean that she might love me...If she does, does that mean she doesn't love Kurama?' Hiei thought. Many thoughts ran through Hiei's mind of why Rai asked him to go on a walk with her.

'I'm happy I asked Hiei to come with me. I mean, I want to get to know him better and why not to get to know one better by going out on a walk together.' Rai thought.

"So Hiei, how did you meet Yusuke and the others?" Rai asked sweetly.

"I rather not talk about that, thank you very much." Hiei said quietly. If someone else asked him that, he would have said it bitterly but since Rai asked, he was nice about it.

"Oh, well, do you have any siblings?" Rai asked kindly.

"That's private too..." Hiei whispered.

'This might be harder than I thought...' Rai thought.

'I wish I could tell her these things but I just can't. Usually I would be angry with anyone who asked me these kinds of questions but with Rai, I can't. She's so kind and gentle, that’s why I love her. She always wants to help out everyone else and make everyone happy.' Hiei thought.

'Maybe I should start asking the questions...' Hiei thought to himself.

"Rai, why isn't your mother at home at all?" Hiei asked.

Rai then felt a sharp pain in her heart, 'Wh-what did he just ask me?'

"M-My mother did you say?" Rai stammered.

"Yes, why isn’t your mother at home at all?" Hiei asked again. Hiei then noticed the sad expression on Rai's face.

'Damn, I remember now! That day when Rai went to that Sakura Tree, she said her mother disappeared when she was young.' Hiei thought to he and mentally slapped himself.

"My mother disappeared when I was 5 years old, right after Narutaki's birth. One day, while I was at school and my father was at work, she was taking care of Narutaki but when my father picked me up from school and took me home, my mother was gone. Narutaki was in his crib crying his eyes out and wailing for my mother. My father immediately called the police to find my mother. But they never found her. My father then decided to move to Kyoto, to get away from the past, so my father, Narutaki, and I moved to Kyoto. Until, this year, we moved back here, to Tokyo." Rai said quietly with a sad tone.

Hiei looked at her, feeling stupid and angry with himself for asking Rai that question.

"I'm sorry for asking you that question, Rai...' Hiei said.

"Oh, it's fine Hiei, you don't have to be sorry." Rai smiled in reassurance.

"Rai..." Hiei said gently.

"Yes, Hiei?" Rai asked happily.

"I-I can't believe that that happened to your mother..." Hiei said while slightly stammering.

Rai looked at Hiei, "Hiei..."

"Why would such a terrible thing like that happen to you, Rai? You're so kind, gentle, caring, and sweet girl, for your mother to disappear when you were young is just wrong." Hiei said calmly.

Then the two stopped walking and Hiei looked into Rai's dark umber eyes.

"Rai, I love you, with all my heart and soul, and I promise you that I'll help you find your mother!" Hiei said sternly as he took her hands into his.

"Hiei...I..." Rai whispered.

Hiei then made a small smile at her, "I will help you find your mother, Rai, I promise you, I will."

Hiei then leaned forward until his lips touched Rai's gentle lips. The two of them stayed like that for at least 5 minutes until Hiei back away.

"Ai shiteru, Rai." Hiei whispered.

"I-I don't know what to say, Hiei..." Rai said.

Hiei continued to look at Rai, 'I'll make her mine, I won't let Kurama have her.'

'I don't know what to do, I mean, I know that Kurama loves me and I already knew that Hiei loves me, I just don't know what to do or who to choose.' Rai thought.

Rai then clung to Hiei's arm and shook the thought out of her head and the two of them started to walk again.

'...Maybe, being in love isn't that bad after all...' Hiei thought.

[Minamino Residence-Living Room]

"So, Kurama, you've been staying at Rain Urameshi's house for a few weeks now, correct?" Kaya asked. Kaya wore a white skirt that was up to her knees, a pink tank top, and a white jacket over her tank top, white ankle boots, and silver hoop earrings. Her ruby red hair wasn't in any hair-do at all.

The two siblings sat in the living room, after eating that late lunch, discussing a few things.

"Yes, but I wanted to ask you something about her, how did you know her name?" Kurama asked.

Kaya smiled at him, "Simple, Takuya and Mayumi told me."

"Oh, well now that makes sense." Kurama said.

::Isn't Rai a total, babe?:: Yoko said happily.

/Yoko, let's NOT go into THAT again.../ Kurama said grimly.

"Yoko, please, act your age." Kaya said simply.

::But, Kaya, she is! She has a sexy body and she's beautiful! Believe me, she'll choose me over Shuuichi 'cause I'm better in the bed!:: Yoko grinned hugely.

/YOKO! STOP BEING PERVERTED!/ Kurama whined.

"Really, Yoko, stop thinking such fantasies and give Shuuichi a break, please." Kaya said calmly.

"Thank you, Kaya, when I was heading here, Yoko kept saying things like that about Rai." Kurama said.

"You're welcome, Kurama. And Yoko, don't you dare make Shuuichi do things he'll regret, especially if it involves Rain and if it's perverted." Kaya said narrowing her eyes.

::C'mon, Kaya-chan! I wouldn't do anything like THAT!:: Yoko said innocently.

/Yes you would, Yoko./ Kurama said dully.

"Yes, I would have to agree with him, so please, don't do anything that Shuuichi will regret or make me hurt you, Yoko-kun." Kaya said coolly.

::Yes, onee-san.:: Yoko muttered.

"Well, since that's settled, I believe we should head back to Rain's house." Kurama said as he stood up.

Kaya blinked, "We? I don't think Ms. Rain would let me stay at her house..."

Kurama smiled at her, "I believe she will, Kaya, since I'll tell her what you know about the Akuma Masters and Master Kumar Fire of Hell."

Kaya smiled graciously at her little brother, "Thank you, Kurama."

Shiori then walked into the room as soon as Kaya stood up, "Shuuichi, you're heading back to your friend's place, already?"

"Yes, I am mother and Sakura is coming with me." Kurama said kindly.

"Oh that's wonderful, well, do come by sometime and say hello when you're not busy." Shiori smiled.

"Yes and bye mother." Kaya and Kurama said kindly as they walked to the door and opened it and then shut it.

[Urameshi Estate]

"YUSUKE, SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Ariel screamed as she threw a pillow at Yusuke.

"HEY, IT'S YOUR SISTER'S FAULT, NOT MINE!" Yusuke retorted as he ducked the pillow.

"WHATEVER, YUSUKE, JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Ariel screamed as she slammed the door to her room.

"Argh...Kamiya can be such a BITCH at points!" Yusuke growled.

"She's like that at some points, but you get use to it after awhile." Kyo chuckled.

"Oh, um, hey." Yusuke said slightly flushing.

Kyo just had a smile on his face.

"So you're Kamiya's bro, right?" Yusuke asked.

"Her twin brother to be exact. You're Yusuke Urameshi, right?" Kyo asked.

"Yeah, I am." Yusuke said proudly.

"Well, anyway, you get use to Ariel after awhile. She's really nice once you get to know her." Kyo replied cheerfully.

"And knowing her for a few weeks, I thought I would already have seen her kind side..." Yusuke muttered.

Kyo chuckled, "Don't worry, Yusuke, it takes time to get to know Ariel and get use to her loud and wild side."

"I've tried for at least 4 weeks now and its not working..." Yusuke mumbled while Kyo chuckled.

"Anyway, so, Kyo, where did you and Hiromi come from? Do you two live in Tokyo as well?" Yusuke asked.

"No, we use to live in Kyoto but we moved to Shinjuku this year. Hiromi and I applied to Yamamoto Jr. High school like Ariel. But we wanted to live with Ariel as well." Kyo said simply.

"So let me guess, you know about the Akuma Masters and their bastard leader, Master Kumar Fire of Hell?" Yusuke asked.

"Yes, since our ancestor, Katana Kamiya, was apart of the revolution to kill the Akuma Masters. And Ariel, is the reincarnation of Katana Kamiya." Kyo said.

Yusuke's eyes widened, "SERIOUSLY!?!"

"While Ariel is the reincarnation of Katana Kamiya, I'm the reincarnation of Ryoma Kamiya and Hiromi is the reincarnation of Sakura Kamiya." Kyo said simply.

Yusuke blinked, "Wait, what do you mean by "revolution"?"

Yusuke stared at Kyo, 'H-How does Kamiya's twin bro KNOW about the

Akuma Masters...and what's this "revolution" he's talking about?'

Kyo sighed, "It's complicated, Yusuke, and I can't explain, you will find out soon enough."

"KYO GET YOUR ASS IN HERE NOW!" Ariel screamed from in her bedroom.

"Gotcha Imouto-chan, I'll be there in a minute," He turned to face Yusuke and smiled at him fondly, "Well looks like I've been summoned upon the warrior of the Heavens."

"More like the bitch of Hell..." Yusuke muttered.

Kyo chuckled.

"KYO GET YOUR FUCKING ASS IN HERE NOW OR I WILL KILL YOU!" Ariel screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Well, I'll see you around, Yusuke." Kyo said as he waved and opened the door to Ariel's room and shut it.

Yusuke blinked a few times, "Wow, Kamiya has Kyo wrapped around her finger. Now that’s what I call service."

[Later]

A little while later, soon after Rai and Hiei returned, Kurama and Kaya greeted them, since they arrived before them. After Hiei's yelling at Kurama for bringing his "sister" to Rai's house, and a few minutes after the yelling, Rai made them stop. After hearing Kaya's information about the Akuma Masters, Rai decided to let Kaya stay. Ariel, Kyo, and Hiromi soon joined the four of them; with Kyo telling Rai about the three of them being reincarnations of their ancestors. Rai then let Kyo and Hiromi stay as well. Rai's home was gigantic and had many guestrooms and other rooms as well.

Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, Botan, Yukina, Kai, Shun, Ariel, Kikyo, Takuya, Mayumi, Kaya, Kyo, and Hiromi all lived under one rooftop, with Rai in control of everyone.

Yusuke and Kuwabara and soon Mayumi went to Sarayashiki Jr. High, Kurama and soon Kaya went to Midou High, Ariel, Kyo, and Hiromi went to Yamamoto Jr. High, Shun and soon Kai and Takuya went to Matsudai Toushi Academy, and finally Rai went to Katsuyuki Academy.

Kai, Mayumi, Takuya, and Kaya decided to go to school since they were half-human after all. Kai wanted to go to an all boys' school so he went to the same school as Shun and Takuya decided to join them as well. Since Kaya was the oldest out of everyone in the house (well Takuya was the oldest in human years but Kaya was the oldest in Tennyo years), she decided to go to the same school as her brother. And finally, Mayumi wanted to go to the same school as where Yusuke and Kuwabara went too. Since Mayumi somewhat got along with Yusuke and promised Rai she would keep on eye on her cousin and friend.

Botan, Yukina, Kikyo, and Hiei stayed at home during the day while the others would go to school. Since there needed to be people at home if there was an ambush. For Hiei, being in the house with clueless baka girls (referring that to Botan and Kikyo of course) was torture for him, but he didn’t mind Yukina.

Tomorrow was when everyone would go to school, but there were more surprises in for both teams within the week.

Yoko: Okay, Kaya sing!!! You promised now do it!

Kaya: *sighs and then takes a deep breath*

Lynx: ^^
