Chapter One

You rested your head on your hands and you propped your elbows on the counter waiting for another customer. Business is slow today in the ice cream parlor. Only about six people came in. Nothing special. Nothing special happens ever. Just parents telling me too much information.

-Flashback-

You and your parents were watching television until a commercial came on about sex. After the commercial it said talk to your kids about sex.

"___" Your mother started. You looked to her. "We should have a talk with you about sex. And how it could change your life." You eyes widened.

Oh no the dreaded talk every teen hates! I already know...escape plan. "It is okay, mom. I have homework to do. Besides we have classes at school."

"I didn't know that" Your mother said. Your father spoke up.

"But I want to make sure my baby girl knows. I don't want any boys to take advantage of you. If they do I will shoot them down." You rolled your eyes.

Great the speech....

"It all started on __Your birthday date___ you came out your mother. They cleaned you. You cried and when I held you. You smiled and-" He started to get dramatic and it irritated you....badly.

"Dad! I know I know sheesh! Can I go now?" You asked standing up.

"Oh no you don't sit back down" You father ordered. You sat down and crossed your arms with a sigh. "As a detective I have had cases of when boyfriends rape their girlfriends and killed them. I don't want that to happen to you. Your my only daughter and child." You mother nodded in agreement.

"Oh, well speaking of boyfriend...I have one." Your father's face paled.

"B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-" Your father stuttered. Your mother stepped in.

"Boyfriend? What is his name? How long have you been going out? When will we meet him?" You shrugged.

"Yea, Akino, just today, and I hope not soon. Dad where you going?"Your dad opened the closet.

"The shot gun my dear daughter."

"Why" You asked ready to go call your boyfriend and tell him to run for his life.

"The first night when me and your mother went out we had wild sex all night." You covered your ears. "I don't want you to do the same thing thats why you are here"

"TMI!!!!" You screamed in pain and disgust.

-Flashback over-

You shuddered at the memory. At least they accept him. I wonder if he is going to come by today.

Ding! You looked up. Well what do you know...

You boyfriend, Akino walked in with roses. He walked over to you and gave you a kiss on the lips and handed the roses to you flashing you a handsome smile. "For you" He said.

"I see they are beautiful," You replied laying it gently behind the counter.

He had turquoise eyes and brown hair that was short and spiked. He had on black pants with a chain on them and a white plain shirt. You smiled back at him.

"So what are you doing here? You want something sweet?" He nods. "What?"

"You __" He leaned forward and you stepped back a little. "We have been going out for 5 months. I want to get to know you more now." You felt a little fear in you as you saw his eyes flash.

"Akino, no. I need to go back to work now I will ummm maybe talk to you later," You emphasized the work `later'. He nodded and leaned in to give you a kiss but you turned your head away. He nodded and sighed.

"Okay see you later, love" He walked out. Thump! "Watch where you are going!" Akino yelled from outside. The doors opened and a unfamiliar face walked in. You straightened up and got a good look at him. He was scowling looking like he was going to kill Akino.

Alot of belts but looks good on him. Black spiked hair with a some sort of white zip zags what ever you call that word...Crimson red eyes...beautiful...

"What are you staring at, onna?" The deep voice interupted your thoughts.

"Oh ummm well nothing!" You looked around nervously. "I never seen you here. Are you new?"

"Hn, what do you think" He said like a smart ass would. You crossed your arms and looked up at him straight in the eye.

"I don't know thats why I am asking you." You said. He glared and you smiled. "You know I bet you have a nice smile. Can I see you smile?"

"Hn, no" You put your hands on your hips.

"Come on! Please! I want to see. Curiosity kills." He just looked at you like you are a mad man.

"Why do you want me to smile so bad?" You put a thoughtful finger on your chin.

"Hmmm" After about a few moments he got irritated and you spoke up. "Is that a trick question?" He fell anime style.

"Baka ningen..." He smirked. You smiled.

"Well that is close to a smile!" You held a hand out.

"Hi I am __, nice to meet you...errr...uhh Bobby?" He hn'd. "Max? Toby? Tony, that would be nice you look like someone in the mafia wearing all that black."

"Onna will you shut up and give me my sweet snow?" He said irritably. You gently pounded you fist in your hand.

"Right! Sorry! What would you like?"

"Vanilla"

"If you get more than 3 scoops its half off" Hiei's eyes glittered in a scary way. "Erm..."

"How much sweet snow?" He asked in a millimeter of excitement but of course you missed it.

"As much as you wish since business is really slow!"

"I will have-"

Ding! You glanced over to the door after hearing how many scoops. "Are you sure?" You asked uncertainly. He gave a sharp nod. "Okay...$1.30" He gave you the money. The people who walked in came up to Hiei.

"Hey Hiei!" The cute boy with slicked back hair and brown eyes said.

"I see you found another ice cream shop!" A boy with carrot top hair and beady eyes said.

"Hn, baka ningen. It's obvious."

"What you say shrimp!?"

"You heard me" Hiei turned back to you. "Aren't you going to get my sweet snow?" He asked impatiently. You nodded and walked off.

So his name is Hiei. I am surprised he wants this many scoops. It's about to tip over and land on my head. Better hurry or it is coming out my pay check. You came back. "Here you go, Hiei" He looked at you slightly glaring.

"How do you know my name?" Hiei asked fingering for his katana. You noticed this.

"Umm he said it" You said pointing to the one with slick back hair. "Here is your 16 scoop vanilla ice cream enjoy!" Why the heck does he have a sword?

"Hn" Hiei took it. "What are you doing here detective" He asked to the boy with brown eyes.

"Koenma wants you" Yusuke said putting his hands behind his head.

"Yea Urameshi would of been here earlier but he got beat up by Keiko" Kuwabara laughed.

"Kuwabara shut up" Yusuke seethed. Kuwabara stopped so he wouldn't get pounded again which was another reason for being late.

"Yusuke Urameshi?" You asked. Yusuke nodded.

"Hey! I used to go to your school! I always wanted to meet you! Are you really a woman beater?" By the way Yusuke looked I guess he was offended.

"No! Who said that?!" he asked ready to pound someone for spreading rumors about him like that.

"My boyfriend, Akino" You said. Yusuke raised an eyebrow.

"You are going out with him?!" He asked a little disgusted.

"Why what is wrong with him?"

"I think he has that messed up" Yusuke said.

"Huh?" You and Kuwabara asked in unison. Hiei was too busy eating away his sweet snow to listen.

Ding! You looked up to see a man with emerald green eyes and red hair walk in looking slightly irritated.

"Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, you are supposed to be at Koenma's now. By now we are an hour and a half late."

"Well hello to you Kurama" Yusuke said sarcastically. Kurama gave him a look and Yusuke shut his mouth.

"What are we going there for again?" Kuwabara asked. Yusuke smacked his forehead and it came down his face.

"He will tell you! I told you twice already lets go!" They all started to walk out. Hiei looked at you and turned away following them.

"Hiei?" He stopped and looked at you annoyed.

"Hn" He asked.

"^.^ Remember smile!" Hiei hn'd and walked out. Hope I see him again...

It was the end off the day and you locked up and started to walk home. I wonder what is wrong with Akino today. What did Yusuke mean. Was that a rain drop? You looked up to the sky. "Aww darn" You started to walk faster and decided to take a short cut since you always did when it rained. It was a dirt road aside of a forest.

Pow! You stopped and looked around. "Gun shot?" You started to walk faster and it started to sprinkle. You saw up ahead three people surrounding a figure on the ground. You stepped on a twig and it snapped. They turned and looked at you.

"Look what we have here boys" One of them with shaggy grayish black hair said. He licked his lips and your face scrunched up.

"Uhh eww" You said and you stepped back.

"Wait! Hold on! Do we know you?" A guy with faded blue eyes said.

You thought about it for a second still scared. "Ever went to the ice cream shop?" They shook their heads. "Then no" You said still backing away as they walked forward revealing a dead body. You felt you blood run cold and you started to back away faster.

"I know now!" Another one with green eyes said. "She is the daughter of the detective that arrested our leader." They nodded and revealed their guns.

"Because of your father we are poor and the women left us. Taking a precious thing from us!" he said. The other one laughed like a evil man he is.

"We should take something precious of his" He aimed the gun at you.

"Oh my gosh! What the hell is that!!!!!!" You pointed behind them with a really scared looked. They turned around.

"I don't see anything!" The shaggy haired one said.

"She tricked us!" The greened eye man turned around. "Get her!"

You push the branches away and ran as fast as you can away from them. You heard foot steps and turned to see them a distance away.

"Shoot her!" They started to shoot at you and they missed a few times then struck you in your shoulder.

"Nggh!" You fell to the ground. Get up __! Get up! You slowly got up trying to ignore then pain and continued to run clutching the wound in your left shoulder. You came to the end of the forest to a cliff that was more than 40 feet to the ground. "No way I am going to jump" You mumbled. You heart raced and you tried to think of a way out of there.

"You can't get away from us" You turned around but everything went slowly. You looked at them then you heard the gun shot. It came slowly towards your heart and struck you near it.

The force sent you flying off the cliff hurling toward the ground to your death.

Fire-Hi people! Thank you very much for reading this story. I hate when some authors do some things in a story and some of you might know what I mean. I am not going to do the same kind of thing every author does I am going to make this great! I have been waiting to write this forever! I already have all of the information up here *points to head* Take it Legato! Oh he is my neighbor...don't ask how...
