Kuwabara: Go fish.

Yusuke: HEY! You guys are cheating.

Kuwabara: Are not.

Yusuke: Yes you are. I saw you pick up practically the whole deck and gave half to Kurama and kept the other half for your self.

TK13: KURAGDA OT FROO'S.

Kuwabara: Thanks for the tip. Kurama, got any four's?

Kurama: Wha…….? How did you know?

Kuwabara: Uh………just a guess.

Kurama: BULL. I want the reason and I want the reason NOW!

Chapter One

The sun rose over the sea early, casting a blood-like color over the deck of the ship `No Mercy'. Many of the crew was still awakening but a few had been up with the moon rise, including the captain of the ship, Leofare.

"Get up you scallywags. Day had begun and yet you're still abed. Ge' up or suffer thirty lashings!" He screamed. The crew which had before been taking its time now scurried out of bedrolls and hammocks in such speed that none had before laid eye's on.

"Oh, do be quiet Leo', it's only dawn. We have plenty of time to kill." A voice behind Leofare mad him whirl, reaching for the dagger he hid up his sleeve.

"Standing behind him was one of the younger member's of the crew.

"Oh its you. Get off your block and start practicin'." He said in a motionless voice. Leofare knew that if her got Dem mad, the boy would gut him faster than in the blink of an eye.

The boy nodded and started to walk past him, the brim of his shapeless hat casting his face in shadow. Leofare didn't like the boy at all. He was too cocky and confident for his own good. If he told the crew to follow him more than half of him would do so.

"Sniffer, get a'lookin' for one." he cried.

A man with a large nose that had been cleaning his two blades before stood up laid them carefully on the deck and began to climb the mast, using only his hands to drag him up.

While Dem would practice and Sniffer search for a ship, he would get ready for the fun to begin.

Dem had begun to take a break, his voice and throat dry and parched. Before he had even sat down to take a drink from the water barrel next to him, a shadow leered over him. Barley glancing at it, he picked up the ladle, filled it to the brim with cool, clear refreshing water and threw the entire thing at the shadow has more joined the first. It caught them off guard and the water splashed over them, coating them thickly and running off to drip on the polished deck.

Dem took another dipperful and this time took a long drink before dropping it back into the barrel where it sank to the bottom. He stood there a minute, silently before he said, "You guy's might wanna be a little more careful or you just might wipe of that protective coat of dirt, you slimbags."

A large snake demon, the first to corner Dem, hissed; his tongue tasting the breeze.

"You might want to watch you back Dem or one day you might sssssssslip and fall."

Dem shrugged and answered, "You might as well and try and knock me off but it won't work. Leofare value's me for brains and speed while he only value's you for brute strength and greed." His voice carried a hint of sarcasm. "Pity, you might be valued as much as me if you practiced a lot more instead of flirting with the ladies whenever we dock port."

He said as he shouldered aside the demon's as he went back to practicing. Instead of choosing the dummies, he began to climb the mast as Sniffer had done. When he came to the part where a rope was tied he climbed onto it and sat there for a minute. The captain called this course the `spider's nest' and it was appropriately named.

A series of ropes were attached to the mast and other parts of the mast including the crow's nest and sail's. On some part's of the rope, where it was more sensitive, a wooden figure cut like a attacking figure, would pop up and attack the person causing them to `kill' it. It was quite difficult as they would have to balance and attack at the same time has many parts of the course didn't have a safety net. But Dem was a expert at the course even though it was changed everyday.

Making sure that he had a dagger ready, he began to run lightly on the rope, his bare feet barley toughing it. Already a demon warrior popped up. Without stopping he flipped the dagger at it and another one. Both hit the target, its heart and its forehead.

Continuing he got three out, made for paralyzing small enemies as they had small tips and were thrown at pockets of large nerves.

He came to a fork in the ropes and took the left one. Another one shot up soon followed by a wooden `snake' demon. Quickly he jumped and landed, turning as he was in the air to launch them at places where they wouldn't be able to move. Then he began to run but was stopped as voices came down from below.

"Boy gets down here!" Dem sighed in regret as he recognized Leofare's voice. Stopping he clung to the rope for a moment and then dropped seventy feet into the safety net.

"What is it Captain?" he shouted as he struggled to get out of the net. He quickly rolled over and fell out, landing at the feet of someone. Dem looked up. It was Leofare and he seemed happier than normal. "We've found us a big one." Dem hurriedly jumped up, making sure his hat was still on and then ran to the port side. Over on the horizon, almost past the noon sun was a small black dot. He squinted to be sure that it was the ship Sniffer had spotted. It was and for some reason instead of running away from Leofare's colors that anyway could see at that distance they were heading straight towards them.

"Captain that ship doesn't seem right. It's heading aw'rd us instead of away from us."

Dem yelled as he scurried up to the crow's nest. Sniffer was already up there and so was Wild Jack. Wordlessly, Jack passed the telescope to him. Looking through it, Dem was able to see that the ship was a battle ship or a battler as everyone called them. "The ship………………. it's huge! I've never seen a ship that large………….or with that many warriors." He said, his voice beginning to shake in anticipation of a battle.

But who would have known what was to happen that day.

TK13: YAYNESS I GOT ME VOICE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!*beaming like a total idiot I am*

Hiei: Hn. How did you get it back?

TK13: I killed everyone! ^-^

BIG VOICE COMEING FROM OUTSIDE HER BRAIN: This is the police we have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up!

TK13: Shoot. While I run off and become a convict, you can review me OR DIE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^-^

Hiei: …………………………̷ 0;….. Don't worry Kurama fans, she didn't kill him. She just murdered Kuwabaka *herald of angels sing the hallelujah chorus* and beat up Yusuke for trying to grope her while she was tied up. Now review. NOW!
