The prince of thieves of the Makai??

The thought raced through the heads of everyone present. Kurama raced over to the girl and looked her over for wounds. She had some, but they weren't serious. He picked her up and then carried her to the room containing the futon. Once there, he began to heal her wounds.

Yusuke turned to Botan, who now was free thanks to a quick slash of Kuwabara's sword. He wasn't happy about what had happened. They always completed their missions before. Botan left to tell Koenma the mission failed.

Angry at himself, Yusuke went and punched a tree, felling it. He turned to another tree and punched that one out too. Kuwabara tried to calm Yusuke down. He hated to see his friend like this, but he kept wondering why that demon looked so much like Kurama.

Hiei had followed Kurama inside. He watched as the fox dressed the girl's wounds. He was upset and confused. He wanted to ask Kurama what he knew about the mysterious Youko that looked so much like his fox. An ominous feeling pricked at the back of his neck as he sifts through the possible identities of the stranger.

Kurama finished treating the girl and nodded to Hiei. They moved to rejoin the others outside. Once there, Yusuke brought the subject floating around the air up.

"Kurama, do you have a brother or something?" he asked, fist clenched.

"Yeah man, or are there lots of silver foxes?" Kuwabara added.

"Far as I am aware, I am the only silver fox. It is rare for one to be born. The only way for another silver fox to be born is if conceived, " Kurama said quietly, head down. He had already figured out who the demon was.

"So does that mean …Are you…?' Kuwabara tried to ask, but speech was a problem.

Hiei understood what his lover had said. "That Youko is Youko Kurama's son," he said, then directed his pained ruby gaze towards Kurama. He was hurt that Kurama had not told him he had a child. Then again, he should have expected it. After all, Yuko Kurama had a reputation as being a "love'em, leave'em" type of guy. Also his hunger for sex was legendary. It even rivaled his reputation as a thief.

Kurama raised his head and looked at his friends. His gaze met an angry Yusuke, a disappointed Kuwabara, and a look of pained betrayal in his love's eyes. Kurama wanted nothing more than to go have a good cry, and eat a couple gallons of chocolate ice cream. Tonight, he had found out he was a father. Tonight was also the first time that their team failed in a mission.

"Hiei, can you try to use your Jagan to find that creep?" Yusuke said, anger practically dripping from his voice.

Hiei nodded and jumped into the nearest tree. He closed his natural eyes and removed his bandana, before opening the Jagan eye. He doubted that he would find the demon, but he could at least try. Then his natural eyes flew open. To his amazement, he located the demon's ki. He was still in the human world! He jumped down, landing next to Kurama.

"He is in the park," he said with a scowl.

With that, all four members of the Reikai Tantei ran to the park. As Kurama ran, he came up with a plan to get the jewel back. Inari, please allow my plan to work… he prayed silently as they entered the park.

Now in the park, the wind had turned cool. It picked up fallen leaves and stray papers, whistling as it flew passed. The light was dim, the moon and stars covered by clouds like they had a secret. The smell of the rain the clouds carried filled the air. The park was uninhabited. Except for the stray squirrel or a lonesome cat.

The mysterious young Youko sat on the ground, thinking. He was fully intent on using the jewels power, but had yet to think of how to work such a thing. He was angry at himself for not asking, and dreading having to give up on his dream and return the jewel to his master. For being late, he knew he would get beaten and would defiantly have to please his master. Such thoughts made him long to linger in his grassy seat forever. His long silver hair moved in the wind. His throat tightened from remembering sour taste of his master's mouth. His tail was fanned out behind him. He wished so to be free…

After spotting the demon simply sitting in the middle of the park, the team slowly made their approach. Kurama decided to he would run ahead. He ran up, only to have a pair of gold eyes stare at him. Those eyes were so cold and hateful, Kurama felt a shiver go up his spine. He looked at his son. No doubts lingered in his mind. After all, not only did the boy look like him, but it also seemed he had quite a few of Youko's nuances.

"Have you come for your death? I am not scared to kill such worthless pawns of the Reikai as yourselves," he said, standing up. The demon looked so damned much like him. It was as if he was looking in a mirror.

"I don't think so little one," Kurama said, then changed into his true self. Now it was the other Youko's turn to look scared.

"So…you have heard of the great Youko Kurama," he said, narrowing his golden eyes. His richer, deeper Youko tones seemed to send chills down his son's form.

"But…but…Mommy said…she said you were dead!!!" the other said.

Kurama didn't have to turn his head to know his friends were by his side. He could feel them getting closer. Smiling to himself, he felt Hiei get as close as one could in a fight.

"As you can see I am alive and well. Though I must admit I have sheltered myself in a human body," Kurama said still giving the other a hard stare, one meant to demand obedience.

"Give us the necklace or die," Hiei said, deadly serious, hand on his sword.

"You will have to take it from my cold dead hands," the other said, finally getting over seeing his father alive. "I am the son of Kurama, but I am not as weak as him."

Hiei felt rage burn through him. This child was calling his Kurama names!!! How dare he… This child no longer had a right to breath as far as Hiei was concerned, but to his great unhappiness the crazy fox, his crazy fox stopped him from ending the whelp's life then and there.

"Kurama is not weak you jerk!!" Kuwabara yelled, "I, the great Kuwabara, will teach you a lesson." He ran towards the Youko, not a smart thing to do since there were many plants around. The grass grew and tied the human to the ground, pinning his arms to his sides. Kuwabara had no choice but to pull his energy back inside.

Yusuke, enraged that his friend was tied up, gave the younger Youko his best imitation of Hiei's death-glare.

"Baka!! Why would you attack a Youko in a park?" Hiei said to Kuwabara. Hiei knew he could take the young fox, and Yusuke might be able to. The fool would never stand a chance. It would most likely be a battle between foxes.

"Untie him," Yusuke said through gritted teeth, eyes shinning with anger.

"So Youko Kurama… shall we fight for this jewel?" the young fox asked his father.

"I shall allow you to make your move first," he said.

With that the younger threw razor sharp leaves at him. Kurama easily dodged them all, hair flipping gracefully as he moved. Kurama, preparing for his own attack, held two roses in his hand. He threw them at the young fox, using them much like darts. One hit, but only on the arm. Not a good enough wound…

They both used their ki to make plants to kill the other off. Seeing as this was going nowhere- plants could only do so much- they began to fight fist-to-fist, kicking and hitting each other, and dodging whenever they had a chance.

But then, in the middle of the fight, a shadow fell. Another demon, with red skin and yellow eyes, appeared before them. He was 5'6" and looked tough. He gave the young fox a cold stare. When the younger Youko saw him, he forgot to block an attack by his father. The punch in his chest brought him down, and he scrambled to his knees. Fear was clearly etched in his eyes.

"I have come for what belongs to me- the Youko and the Jewel."
