Thank you to the people that review, I'll try to update more. Also thank you for constructive critism(sp?) I don't take it the wrong way and if it helps make the story funner to read, its cool. But lets not go overboard and every person tell me what's wrong with this fic... I'll try the out of point of view thing but I'm not that great at it so I don't know how long that will last, but since you asked, I'll try! ^_^ The space thing I don't have too much control over, I put them in there but when it loads on the site they vanish....fishy if you ask me..but I'll work on it.

Ok I tried, it sucked somethin horrible, I kinda decided F that S, sorry, maybe if I did less P.O.V. in the chapters? But it seriously was TERRIBLE and I don't want any one to be subjected to that kind of stuff.

Anyway I'm sorry updating takes so long, its part lazy part I woke up one day and found I actually had stuff to do, well you know what I mean.

There was so much that should have been going through my head, so much I should have thought about, but I didn't. The only thing that mattered to me at that moment in time was my parents were awake, they were ok. When I burst into the room they were in, tears were streaming down my face. Thank goodness none of the doctors were there, my violet tears would have been questioned. I didn't think on it as I threw my arms around my parents, who had moved into one bed. When I pulled away they were looking at me, I expected questions, but not the one my 'mom' asked.

"How did we come back?"
The look in her eyes said she had an idea, but wanted me to tell. This compled me to tell the truth-all of it. I started at the beginning with my real family and ended with my own question of what I was. Her and my 'dad' traded looks and seemed to decide on what to do.
"Before we tell you, I want you to know, we knew all along that you weren't human."

I felt my jaw drop but before I could say anything, she continued "Me and your 'dad' arent demons, but were not exactly humans either. We are harbingers." Well that cleared nothing up, and she saw it on my face "A harbinger sees all the different paths the future can take, and works to manipulate them, mostly towards good. Do you really think it was chance that lead you to be taken in by people who lived next to a karaoke bar? You being a Siren?"

Yep.

"So is that why you took me in? Why didn't you have your own child?"

"We took you in because, harbingers are so rare that if two meet and fall in love, they can not bare children, that much power and ability to manipulate the future should never be in one being, and the child is not always gaurenteed to be good if the parents are. Rather than risk it, we decided to raise you ourselves."

"If you were to have a kid with someone who wasn't a harbinger, would that child be one?" "Not exactly, since our souls are recycled, there isn't really too much need, but there is a way to permantlly kill us, but that is a well-kept secret no one but other harbingers know, and one would never give it up. But every once in a while, a new one is born. Or if a harbinger tires of its life, they can pass on their legacy to their offspring, but that rarely happens because our kind love change and life."

"Does Koenma know you exist?" They traded glances. "No, and we would perfer to keep it that way, he would want to hunt us all down, and caging us and using us against our will only diminishes our powers to mere street fortune tellers and tarot readers, and our kind are generally good."

"Then why can't you have a child?" She shook her head sadly, and my 'dad' spoke up. "Because, power has a way to corrupt and we can't see what would happen if it does not have a chance to happen, and we do not want to chance it."

"So you knew I was a siren demon?" "Yes, and we have always known where your clan lived, and the finned sirens. Our kind know all histories, we have to, we are immortal so to speak, and to make decisions for the future, one must study the mistakes and victories of the past. If our bodies are not harmed by outside influences we will stay forever in what appears to be mid 20's, but if our bodies are killed, our souls are reborn into others, and our memories erased, except for the historical facts. Personal things we would not remember, such as lovers and the like."

I was silent for awhile. If they were what they said they were, maybe they could answer my questions.
So many I needed answers to, but one came out of my mouth before even I knew it. "Why was I so taboo?"

They looked a little surprised, as if they didn't expect THAT question exactly. My mother was the one who told me.

"Long ago there was no different clans of Siren demons, they were all one. Neither of them looked too much different from another in complexion, and each had extra appendages from their arms. They spoke only the language of Quintessence. Who ever spoke it had the power to change or alter anything around it, if they knew it's song.
"Over time conflict arouse when some began using the langauge for dark purposes. They used it against other demons and controlled their minds. Before anyone outside of the Siren's clan could find out it was because of their tribe, the leaders of the Sirens killed the ones responsible, but not before the Great Epidemic. Many demon tribes were destroyed. It succeeded in dividing the clan. Some wanted to go to the sea, where they could hide under the waves and be alone to live how they pleased, where some wanted to take to the cliffs, where they could hide amoung clouds.
They split.

"The ones that went to the sea eventually evolved as they are now. They turned dark to blend with the shadows of the sea floor, and at will they can turn their legs into fins. They grew gills and the appendages from the inside of their arms to their sides can turn into wing-like fins for fast turning if they want.
"The ones that took to the cliffs adapted to that climate. They lightened to be able to hide in the sunlight, and their appendages grew into great wings, which they could call up or hide at will. Both seemed to decide it was too dangerous to speak in the old language, so they adopted the new ones. Only priests or people of high position in the clan could speak it, and even then it was rare.
"Each clan was bitter at the other, and refused to let any of the new generations near the other. Both clans power diminished, but the elders saw it for the best. They forbade union, hoping that no one would. They began terrible stories of the other, and when the elders died, the truth went with them and the lie lived on. Sirens, Voliant or Finned, can hear or sing the Language of Quintessence no more, unless it is their own song or one someone has sang to them.
"But then your mother came along. Fate has a way of correcting itself, when you have lived as long as us, you find humor in its quirky path, how it twists the world, then sets it back. Your mom was born under a blue moon, at the same time a storm raged both the sky and the waves."

I had no idea what a blue moon was and was about to ask when my dad explained "A blue moon is when a full moon happens twice in one month. As for the storm, it was as if the wind was trying to destroy the earth, and the tide was rebelling againts its liquid container. That is how your mother got her dark eyes, she was different from the start.
"She cared, where the others had become numb. Time moves swiftly in the skies, and slowly in the seas. Your tribe has become somewhat indifferent to the feelings of others, where the Finned ones still have compassion. However, the sea never forgets, and its creatures don't readily forgive.
"When your natural mother saw your father, she did not see him as the enemy, but wounded and in need of help. When they fell in love it was taboo, but fate was set in motion. You were conceived, and when you turned out normal, except for coloring, it challenged the way your clan thought. You were easy to hide from your father's clan, until they found out about you, then their 'windows' in the ocean gave you away for certain.
"They hated you, escpecially your grandfather, for what you were, a threat to all they knew, so they rejected you, no matter how normal you acted, or beautiful you sang. When the two clans fought, the Voliant in their anger tried to attack the sea, and it doesn't take kindly to assault. Water being their weakness they were easily over-powered so out of their element.
"They remained trapped there, waiting for someone to come and release them, someone who can weild the power that is now a shadow of itself divided."

Well this certainly was news. I had a suspicion on what they were hinting at, but I wanted it spelled out to be certain. "So, where does that place me?"

"You are the one that must free them, you are combined of both clans, you hear the Language of Quintessence, you can sing it. No other Siren has the power you can, both clans have trouble charming objects not of their element, but you can get not only land things to do your will, but sea ones as well. Remember your water balloon incident? If another Voliant had tried that, not near as many of those balloons would have attacked. You called our essences back from almost crossing over, instinctivly you knew how to do it, what more proof is there? You are a Sage of Quintessence!
"It is your fate to save your clan, and bring peace to both. They may never unite again as one, but at least they may live in harmony so that neither becomes extinct. You are a true Siren demon, not solely one or the other, but the last in the legacy of true power that is your birthright."

After that they both slumped back onto the pillows, spent after the conversation after being in a coma for so long. Knowing they still had a long way to recovery, I sang them a quick lullaby and when they were both sleeping peacefully, left. My mind was buzzing and I walked out of the room and almost into Hiei, whos forhead was glowing slightly under his headband.
I raised an eyebrow at him and smirked, apparently he wasn't quick enough to stop using his jagan before I sang the lullaby. Suddenly a sly thought crossed my mind, and it would double as a test to these 'powers' I was supposed to have. I hummed a little soothing song, mixed in with notes to be slow for a little while, the sides of his lips twitched slightly, almost as if was about to smile, and as much as I wanted to see THAT I was too far along to change the course of the song.

I reached a low, then I sang a sharp, piercingly high note, the one that I had been building up to. His eyes opened with a snap and he looked mad. He was mad about being caught and the fact that I had bested him, I knew this all in an instant, and I didn't have time to wonder because he had tried to come after me in that moment. But the slothness I had woven into the song took after and he was too slow. I almost broke down with the laughing right there, but I didn't know how long it would be in effect.
I took off, and I couldn't hold in the laughter any more. I could barely see where I was going, so I took a few turns and opened a window in a deserted hall and jumped out, and it wasn't until I was 4 blocks away that I realized I had flown, not glided but flown. I turned my head sharply and looked at the tips of my wings, fully grown and rounded feathers rustled back, almost silently in the glow of the moon. Man, I had been with my parents a long time.

"I'm healed!" I coudln't help it, I began crowing it at the top of my lungs and dancing around. I didn't think twice about being caught. I turned around and suddenly there was Hiei. Knowing full well that he was pissed and wanted to kill me, I did the one thing experience had shown me that will distract him. I hoped.

"Hiei, I'm fully healed!" and threw my arms around him. He stiffened and it didn't have much effect, so I had to pull out all the stops. I did the unthinkable, I kissed him. He was so shocked he dropped his katana, and this is when I jumped back and started dancing around again, to hide both my embarassment and his. I was still singing "I'm healed" when I felt a dizzy spell hit me, apparently my store of strenght didn't last as long as I hoped.

The last thing I remember is stopping and standing completly still, bringing my wings in so fast, a passerby would wonder if they really saw them or shadows. I then swayed a bit, and fell, and the last thing that came to mind was how much it sucked at fainting.

OK, IT WAS NOT MY FAULT THIS WAS SO DAMN LATE! I'm sorry, but my wonderful stepmom had to do some work on the computer, I didn't think twice about it, thinking I could get back on, well I was wrong. SHE SHUT OFF THE FREAKIN' COMPUTER and ALL and I mean ALL of my chapter beginning from fortune tellers was GONE. It was horrible, but anyway, here it is, and sorry it is short.
