Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Sorry I'm Broken ❯ Why? ( Chapter 1 )
I'm not here, you can't see me.
Silently… I am screaming.
Go away. Stop the bleeding.
I am broken. Life is fleeting.
You can't save me, Walk away.
I will die… anyway.

It was bitterly cold, the wind bit at everyone and everything. The normally calm blue sky was flat and gray. Immense black clouds hovered ominously over the world, releasing millions upon millions of icy raindrops that mercilessly pounded the ground. But not even the rain could douse the roaring flames that engulfed a lone house that took residence in the seclusion of trees. The trees… they were far enough away to not bear the same fate as the house, but were close enough to block the protruding smoke that rose from the ashes.
A small group of people were gathered around the structure. Many out of curiosity others out of sheer enjoyment. The firefighters could not make it to the house for the reason that it was in a forest with no water source available. In this big phenomenon, amongst the crowd stood a figure who once indeed lived in that house… and with them they took the knowledge of the occurrence of how it was lit on fire, and the events that had gone on in the walls of that house. The figure in fact, only gazed at the dwindling flames, then merely walked away.

The flames vanished completely along with the crowd merely one hour later. Everyone acted as if the event never even happened… but people seem to do that. They entertain themselves with violence and other peoples problems, though they never actually give it a second thought to care. But then when it happens to them, then they want someone to care. But in truth no one really ever will.
Down the street, that same figure walked. You walked. It had stopped raining only moments after the fire died, but you were still soaked. And as you walked, something in the back of your subconscious kept telling you that you were supposed to care that you were alone and had no where to go… but you knew you really never would care, you couldn't care. So you just kept walking.
Along your aimless journey, you stopped, realizing you were now in the park. It was night, and everything was desolate and eerily quiet… and you fell to your knees. You fell to your knees and broke into silent sobs. You knew the fact that you couldn't care. It was as clear as glass. But you also wanted to care. This making your body break down into crying, while just adding more stress to your already traumatized mind. But no one saw, because no one wanted to see.
So you kneeled there, sobbing without making the slightest of sounds. You sobbed till your tears ran dry… but still you sat there, staring into a vast void of nothing as you seemed to lose yourself in the folds of your mind. That was until you were violently jerked into harsh reality by some guy.
He was a tall man, who was clearly out of shape. He wore long dark green business type pants that were filthy, with a white shirt that had grease stains, and a black coat over that. He had short messy black hair and as far as you could tell brown eyes. Upon his face laid a twisted smirk, and as he bent over, you could clearly smell the alcohol on his rancid breath.
" Ooo, you're a pretty one. I'm going to have lots of fun with you!"
You did not respond, merely stared at him with no emotion at all. This making him angry and frustrated, he smacked you across the face, making you fall to the side. Rubbing the side of your face, you simply sat back up, and continued to stare. The man finally realized you weren't going to do much more, and he chuckled evilly. The next to only things that were heard after that, was of a zipper, and a loud scream.

In the Spirit World, the detectives: Kurama, Yusuke, Hiei and Kuwabara were all crowded around in Koenma's office. Though they did not seem at all pleased at being woken up at such a late hour of the night.
" What now toddler?" asked the peeved Yusuke Urameshi.
" Yusuke I've asked you a million times not to call me that! And I have a new mission for you…" said Koenma, ruler of the Rekai.
" Yeah, it's kind of obvious we do"
" Shut up Yusuke. Anyway… I need you to capture this female. She's wanted because she murdered a human"
Koenma turned to his giant television, and a picture of you appeared. They all stood in thoughtful silence studying your photo. Your (Color) eyes shimmered jovially, and your (Color) hair was let down. You were dressed in a royal blue summer dress, with a straw hat. A wide smile on your pretty pink lips.
" She doesn't look like a demon Koenma" stated Kurama.
" Well she is. Now I need you to go get her. NOW!"
So the gang all took their leave, to find you. Though they still were not very pleased at the fact that they have to look all over Tokyo to fin you.

Back in the Ningenkai, we find you still sitting in that exact same spot in the park. The man lying before you, motionless and with a dagger through the middle of his ribcage. Blood seeped through the wound and past the cold blade. The drops dripped to the grass and pooled around his body. You had shoved the dagger in his flesh so quickly, he probably never felt it… but judging his pained expression before he collided to the floor, many would say he felt it all.
When the gang found you, that was exactly what they saw. You staring at the dead body of the offending rapist. Kuwabara and Yusuke made disgusted faces, while Kurama and Hiei, who used to see this every day of their lives were used to it. After a while of staring, they all walked up to you.
" Excuse me Miss? We need you to come with us." said Kurama.
Turning your head slightly, you turned to look at the four boys. Your face still emotionless. Then you looked back to the corpse. With little effort, you pulled the blade out of his torso, as more blood spurted out. Giving the dripping blood on the dagger a fleeting glance, you turned back to the boys, and before you blacked out for reasons unknown to you, you uttered one word.
" Why?"
