* Chapter 3 *
Meanwhile back on Earth, Ann was still bitching at Tommi about her little slip of the tongue.
"Tommi what the fuck to you think you where doing? If other people find out about our extra sense, they will lock us up in the loony bin and FYE I don't feel like being locked up in a padded room, in a straitjacket!" Ann yelled as she drove down the road to their apartment.
"I said I'm sorry, OK. It was a mistake I am not perfect. I am an empathetic not psychic. All I can do it feel other people emotions and thoughts. NOTHING ELSE!" Tommi yelled back.
"What the hell has that got to do with anything? I know I am not perfect, I know YOU'RE not perfect, and HELL no one is perfect! But that still doesn't excuse you for your slip up." Ann stated angrily.
"Look ok, I am sorry. I am really, really sorry. Gomen Nasai! (A/N I'm sorry in Japanese) Eins schuligen sie bitte! (A/N German) Pardon Effendin! (A/N Turkish) How many languages do I have to say it in?" Tommi folded her arms defensively, and turned her head looking out the passenger window.
"Well you forgot Arabic, Greek, French, and Russian." Ann said as she pulled into the parking lot, and parked the car. After receiving a death glare from Tommi, Ann continued to state, "But that is besides the point. You might as well told him you read his mind!"
"But I didn't. I am not telepathic. He gave me his thoughts and feeling, unknowingly, but willingly when he touched me." Tommi declared.
"Well duh, you're not the only one with empathy, here. Anyways, we need to be more careful. It doesn't matter if your telepathic, psychic, or empathetic. People are still scared of people different form them. Me and YOU can not make this mistake again. It could easily cost us, dearly." Said Ann.
"Yeah I know ok." Tommi looked down at here hands, losing herself in her thoughts.
Ann looked over at Tommi and sighed. "I'm sorry Tommi. I didn't mean to bring back those memories. I just don't want us or more specifically you get hurt again. How about we go for a run? Maybe that will clear our heads, or at lest get ried some of our stress."
Tommi looked up and smiled. "Yeah. Why not? Lets get to the apartment and get changed. When is mom and dad suppose to get home?"
"I don't know. They had that Sergeant party to get to, so it won't be until late." Ann stated getting out of the car.
Ann and Tommi made their why up to the apartment, not really talking both lost in their thoughts.
~Three hours later~
Kurama slowly made his way home after his and the other's meeting with Koenma. He could feel Hiei up in the trees following him, which he really didn't mind. He hated to admit it but he was going to need the fire demon's help trying to convince Tommi and her sister to head over the necklaces peacefully.
"Sumimassen!"
Kurama moved out of the way, hearing the voice behind him. He barely caught a glimpse their faces as they jogged past. It was two young girls. They ware the same type of outfits. Short gray shorts, with matching gray shirts tucked neatly inside. The only way to tell the difference between them was by their height and hair. The taller one had red hair pulled back into a high ponytail, and the other one had her light brown hair wrapped in a tight bun.
"Arigato!" The other girl, with brown hair, shouted back at him, waving slightly.
Kurama blinked for a moment, realizing whom the two girls were. /Tommi? /
"Damn it Fox. Call them back here. Lets get it over with and get the damn medallions." Hiei hissed at him.
"Right." Kurama noted down at Hiei. "Tommi, wait!" He hollered after the sisters.
Both girls stopped and turned around.
"Yes?" Tommi asked blinking.
"Hn? Oh, it's just them. Lets go." Ann stated, truing back around.
Before Ann know what was happing she found herself backed against a wall with a sword at her throat. She sucked in a sharp breath trying to calm her racing heart. The connection between Hiei's hand on her arm and his katana at her throat, was almost more then she could bare. From the pictures that were flying violently across her mind, she could tell that Hiei had had a hard life, even for a demon. But she could tell, even though with all the horrible things he had been through, and had done, he still had a good heart. *A little twisted and morbied,* but good.
"You will stay and listen to us, human." Hiei growled in Ann's ear.
Ann looked down at him, coming of her trance, her face showing no fear. "And if I don't?" She asked rising an eyebrow.
"Kurama, call your dwarf off my sister. NOW!" Tommi demanded.
Hiei: /Dwarf? /
"It means short, Hiei." Ann whispered.
Hiei blink then scowled. "How did you know what I was thinking?" His sword pressed harder on her throat.
"I didn't. You said it." Said Ann.
"Hiei please. We need to do this peacefully. If you kill one of them, then the other would surely not cooperate then." Kurama stated close to a whine.
Hiei growled but pulled away, putting his sword back in its sheath. "Fine." He stated simply, jumping up into a tree near by.
Tommi walked over to Ann to examine her neck. "It doesn't seem to be cut."
"I'm fine Tommi."
Kurama moved over the Tommi's side. "I am sorry for Hiei's abrupt actions. His social skills are less then desirable. I was wandering if you and your sister could take a few moments to speak with us. We need to ask you for a faver.
"And what may that be?" Ann asked.
"I would prefer to tell you that in a place a little bit more private." Said Kurama.
Tommi looked at Kurama, then up at Hiei. /What in the three worlds could they need from us…? /
"OK we can go to our apartment but Hiei has to dispose of all of his weapons at the front door. He can pick them back up on his way out." Tommi said, looking more then just a little livid.
Hiei jumped down from his perch high in the tree, and glared Tommi. "I will not disarm." He growled.
"Then you have two choices. One. Leave your weapons at the door, and *maybe* we will help you, or you can keep your weapons and not get a single thing from us, your choice." Tommi stated in a deadly calm.
Kurama placed his hand on Hiei's shoulder. "Please Hiei, just do as she asks. We do need their cooperation."
Hiei glared at Kurama, then at Tommi, and back at Kurama. "Fine." Hiei stated as he started to walk away.
Ann ran up to Hiei grinning down at him. "Well I would say last one to the apartment gets the short end of the stick, but then again it looks like it has already happen to you Hiei. See you there." Ann stated then broke out it a full sprint.
Hiei glared at Ann's back, but then smirked evilly, diapering from sight.
Kurama and Tommi both sweatdropped at the same time. " I know she is my sister, and I love her to death…but she so…so…" Tommi stuttered trying to find the right words, to describe her sister.
"Incorrigible?" Kurama asked helpfully.
"Ya exactly." Tommi answered in almost a whimper.
"I would say the same for Hiei…" Kurama looked down at Tommi, a slight worried line forming in his brow. "Perhaps we should head up ourselves. We do not want to leave those two alone together, for long."
"Lets just hope that Ann hasn't got into her knife collection, Hiei may have a katana, but…he hasn't seen her knifes." Tommi shuttered at the thought.
"We should hurry then." Said Kurama quickening his steps.
Ann ran up the stairs at full speed, jumping
