Summary: Kurama is captured by two monkey demons that change his gender and bring him to an alternate dimension of demon world as a potential mate for their lord. Stuck in a new body and a new world with a powerful, obsessed, and infatuated demon lord how will he escape and transform back, can he?

Spilt Between Worlds & Lovers

Chapter I: Monkey Did

"I can't believe we actually caught this guy." One demon spoke.

"I can't believe we're still alive. This fox was a legendary thief in Makai. Keep in mind; we gave him a Seibetsu potion."

"That's the stuff that changes gender, right?"

"Correct. So, it's not he anymore but she. Well, the transformation isn't complete, won't be until we reach the castle." He wheezed, "in any case, let's keep this a secret among brothers, Ototosan."

"Fine with me Niisan. I'm just glad you brought those mystical chains. Yeesh! Who knew there would be a beast beneath the beauty? On top of that, this damn fox's slumber isn't deep; despite the strong sedative we used. It's like the body is rejecting it, so he can leap up… and finish us off."

"Scared are we, baby brother?"

"Hey! YOU weren't the one fighting him!"

"And YOU weren't the one wounded by her!" Pointing to his hand.

These two arguing apparitions were monkeys, twins, and in a touch of trouble.

-FLASHBACK:

CROW'S CASTLE -

"Please, please, give us a little longer!" Fully prostrating Niisan and Ototosan begged together.

"Pointless." A voice snorted, summoning an ample amount of demon energy above their heads.

"Forgive our failure Lord Kurotori, but we have brought forth every sort of woman imaginable before him. From nobility to peasantry, barely ripened maidens to mature women. All of beauty and talent, dismissed like common street whores."

Niisan, currently speaking on behalf of the duo, coordinated all schemes. Almost human in appearance except for excessive, wiry fur and a bulbous tail that flagged behind him. His equal in form quaked uselessly beside him.

"Enough." Raising a hand ready to strike. "You so called master matchmakers were suppose to find a wife for him! You had half a year's time. Had you presented as many women as excuses, he would have a worthy bride by now!"

Readying to end their lives, the eldest of the two let loose a screech so unnatural it made the advisor flinch.

"W-wait! My previous statement was a half-truth! A rather difficult woman but––! There is one more candidate. Grant us one last chance and we will produce a woman so beautiful, so perfect in the young lord's eye. He'll go insane with lust!"

"Oh?"

"Five more days! F-five more days to complete the task, guaranteed. I swear success upon, upon–– upon the heads of our entire clan!"

"WHAT!?" Ototosan hissed in disbelief.

"Three."

"Pardon?"

"I'll give you three days."

"Yes, thank you Lord Kurotori." They responded

"However, should success not come, your genocide is assured."

The brothers got to their feet, bowed, and then left the fields. Hoping to never see them again.

"If we act fast we can gather everyone and evacuate!" Ototosan urged.

"No. Advisor Kurotori is one of the few outsiders who knows the location of the village, and its secrets. He'll be more vigilant then ever. Still, do not fret, I have a plan."

END FLASHBACK-

"Back again, back again." Ototosan mumbled.

They stood outside the castle walls surrounding the mountainous fortress. Forest and city alike housed many awkward, strange creatures never seen by human eyes. Yet, the most noticeable were the hundreds of crows roosting above.

"You know, I'm having second thoughts about this. Maybe turning this dude into a lady isn't one of your better ideas…"

"Hush. No going back now."

Approaching the throne room doors Niisan took a big breath. "Here we go. The moment of truth. Life or death." Reaching for the large golden handle his sibling stopped him, grabbing his other hand.

"AHHHHHHH! BASTARD! THAT'S MY BAD HAND!"

"Sorry, sorry but perhaps we should…"

CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! The large doors opened of their own accord.

"Early are we? You still have time before the mass execution." The advisor teased.

They bowed "Yes, thank you for this chance to redeem ourselves. We believe the woman we've brought is different than the others. Blessed with the beauty of a nymph and skills of a deadly warrior."

"Let me examine this 'perfect' woman."

Ototo brought 'her' closer.

"Hmm. She is lovely… part human though. Where did you find her?"

"You see, we, uh…"

"Didn't she know about the 'Dynast Choosing of Mates' Mandate? "

Both brothers paused, looking at each other, searching for a lie.

"We found her, walking deep in a forest…" Niisan began to say.

"Alone."

"Right, in a distant land. She refused to come with us and put up a fight. So we had to sedate her."

"And hog-tied her for safety measures. Milord, she can really kick some ass…"

"What he means is; if she became Queen Consort strong descendants would be certain. Beauty and strength, a rare combination."

"She'll make a sweet bride too…battle ready."

"Hush!" Niisan urged.

"You might be spared yet."

"Thank you." The two said.

Kurotori snapped his fingers; several guards and two chambermaids entered on command. One guard wheeled the sleeping prisoner over to the advisor.

"Take these two away, separate them. I'll transport our guest to her chambers. Maids, tend to her every need. Make sure she's comfortable, clean, and ready to meet our lord. …Discard her clothes. Ugh. Burn them."

"Wait!" Ototo squirmed in his new restraints, "How will we know if this woman is to the king's liking?"

"Simple. I'll have the guards chop off your tails as a harbinger of beheading."

"Oh."

Hope everyone got through the holidays all right! Well, this is the first chapter revised, not much was altered, huh? Though, when fully revised I feel that 'Spilt Between Lovers' will be a more rounded out tale! With plot holes filled, new and old characters' pasts thoroughly explained, and more gender jokes! Why not? (The face Kurama makes when mistook for a woman is adorable.)
