Chapter Three: Foxy, Batty, and Silver baka

*No one point of view*

 

The that morning Kuronue was awoken by Youko who snuck up on him and yell in his ear, "WAKE UP!!"

"God damn it Fox! Don't you sleep?" Kuronue snapped noticing that it was early morning.

"I got a lot of sleep yesterday," Youko smirked.

"Yeah never let foxes lay in the sun or they will get to comfortable and want to take a nap. Lazy foxes," Kuronue mummbled.

Youko just grinned at this. Kuronue jumped down and they headed off into the woods. After walking a few miles they saw Star sitting against the willow tree only a few feet from where they found her that night. She was growling out of fustration. Her head was rested on her knees that were pulled up to her body. Star's ears drooped and her tail layed motionless. They couldn't see Star's face but they smelled her tears. Kuronue walked up to her only to step back to dodge a quick attack.

"Hey watch who you are attacking Kuronue snapped at her only to be answered with a cold glare and growl.

"Hey Star," Youko greeted.

"Hello Youko, Kuronue. Sorry Kuronue I mistook you for Sano. That is why I attacked you. Sano is the new leader of the bat tribe correct?" Star said regaining herself.

"Yeah, but how would you know that?" Kuronue asked slightly shocked.

"Lets just say he vowed to kill me, seeing that he was to become the next leader seeing that my mother and older brother kill him, with I making the killing blow," Star answered standing up.

They could tell Star was exhausted not getting any sleep that night on top of the battle with the death of her family.

"Hey aren't foxes usually solitary demons?" Kuronue asked slightly confused.

"Males are females aren't. Girls much rather be in a pack then alone," Youko explained as Star nodded in agreement.

"That is kinda odd," Kuronue sighed.

Star then had to lean against the tree to remain standing.

"You know sleep is a good thing," Kuronue stated sending a glare at Youko would woke him up.

"I can't sleep," Star choked out.

"Let me guess you keep seeing the death of your family went you closed your eyes," Kuronue spat.

"Yeah," Star said looking away from the two older males.

"Anyways.." Star sighed after a few minutes of an awkward silence.

"If it makes you feel any better you killed off most of the bat demon tribe..." Kuronue said slightly annoyed and sad at the same time for this grieving female.

"And how do you know?" Star snapped.

"When I ran an erran for Youko I noted that the number of bats in my OLD tribe were few," Kuronue snapped.

"Old tribe? Batty when you went there did you get kicked out by any chance?" Star asked.

"Yes and no, I left a long time ago but was still permitted until last night now my old tribe makes a excellent target for stealing," Kuronue answered.

"Oh," was all Star said and it was slightly apoligetic.

Before anyone could say another word, Star passed out falling into Youko's arms who started blushing like crazy.

"Great, now what are we going to do Youko? She passed out and I highly doubt that you are going to leave her here," Kuronued smirked, "we have to plan our next raid as well."

"Lets go back to my den were we can plan without people trying to overhear," Youko suggested.

"And the girl is coming with?" Kuronue asked skeptically.

"I guess," Youko replied picking Star up bridle style.

Youko ran through the woods while Kuronue flew overhead easily keeping up with the fox's fast pace. They reached Youko's den which was a hole in the side of a rocky edge of a cliff hidden by a waterfall. Youko entered first with Kuronue following shortly after. Youko gently set Star down on his bed before going back to the main room.

"So what is the next target?" Kuronue asked.

"I was thinking about stealing the clouded mirror," Youko answered.

"That is the one that allows the unseen to be seen?" Kuronue asked.

"Yeah," Youko confirmed, "Through it is hidden in the bat demon cave."

"That is true amongst other rarities," Kuronue smirked.

That is when Star started to stirred. She woke up and sat up up her high and her body tense trying to figure out her location. That is when she relized that she was in Youko's den. Star yawned and Kuronue and Youko walked into the room.

"Now why am I here??" Star asked still confused as to why she keeps seeing these demons when she was supposed to stay out of their way. Star imediately noticed that Kuronue had taken back his sword. In one swift moment Star shot up grabbed her katana and landed gracefully in the main room.

"What??" Kuronue asked looking at the katana in her hand as she placed it back at her side, "I didn't even see her steal at until after she stop moving."

"I can steal," Star smirked amused that they underestamated her.

"Well then I take it you know about the clouded mirror," Youko asked casually.

"Yeah, I know of it. If you are going to steal it I can tell you that it is already gone from the bat demon tribe," Star answered seeing right through Youko's little game.

"You are the one who stole it," Kuronue stated.

"Yes, I did," Star sighed pulling a small mirror out of her pocket, "Why, you want it? Have it."

Star tossed the mirror to Youko who caught it easily before heading towards the entance of Youko's den before disappearing.

"She is an interesting character," Kuronue said slightly confused and shocked at the new treasure to add to their collection.

Star walked away from Youko's den dodging the vines that wanted to kill her for being a unfamilar energy on their territory. Star dodged them all before a smoke bomb was tossed at her. Star quickly got out of the area and came face to face with twenty bat demons and the new leader Sano.

"Hello Star, lets make this quick," was all Sano said before motioning for the twenty bats to attack. They attacked in groups of two and three from every which direction. Star sliced the first three from the right and the other group of three which attacked from her left. Star killed sixteen of the twenty demons in less than three minutes. Before the other four could moved Star killed each other them with a quick stab to the heart. Sano's smirked disappeared as all the bats fell down leaving him and Star still alive. Just as Sano was going to attack Youko and Kuronue appeared halting the battle.

"Sano....did I just sent Kuronue to warn you not to come on my territory?" Youko asked slightly growling.

"I don't care....my only worry is that the female in front of you dies," Sano growled.

Youko made a move to step up but Star sent a growl his way, "Youko...." There was a pause as the two foxes watched each other. Evenually Youko nodded and stepped back motioning Kuronue to do the same. Star's attention was drawen back to Sano who said, "Youko, you are allowing me to kill her?"

"Who said anything about me dying? As far as I know YOU are the one who is going to be doing the dying around here," Star smirked.

"We will see about that," Sano said drawing his sword.

Sano charged at Star slashing at her trying to cut her in haft but Star but with a clash of her sword. Placing her left hand on the dull edge of her sword she pushed back forcing him to jump back three feet to dodge a air bore attack. Sano was slightly amazed at her skill with the sword but was forced back on to the defensive for Star came at him with a series of fast attacks. Sano could dodge every single attack except one causing him to lose his right arm. His sword arm. Sano took a step back his blood gushed out of the wound. Star decided to end his pain by stabbing him in the heart with her sword giving him a quick death. Star sighed put a cloth from her pocket and cleaned to blood off her sword. she then dropped it on Sano's face.

"I have to admitt you are really good with that sword," Kuronue complimented.

"Thanks," Star smiled.

"You are probably the most friendly demon I have ever met," Youko remarked.

"Why do you say that?" Star asked, "oh, wait I know it is just that I am usually easy to get along with and way to open for my own good."

"Yeah, what you said," Youko commented.

"Yeah, what fox said....wait there are two foxes now so I get to give someone a new nickname...." Kuronue trailed off and Star was watching him with a confused expression now her face. There was a pause for a few seconds and Kuronue stated, "Stars nickname is foxy!" But before Kuronue could say anymore Star cut in, "Kuronue name is batty and Youko's is silver baka!"

Both of the boy were speakless for a few minutes and then Kuronue brusted out laughing. Youko just blushed and looked away.

"Why? Silver baka?" Youko asked.

"Because I couldn't think of anything better," Star teased.

"Whatever Foxy," Youko sighed giving up.

"Star that is a prefect nickname for Youko," batty said amused.

"And I think your nickname is prefect as well batty," Youko laughed.

"Well you are both bakas with interesting nicknames," Star said breaking Youko's laugher.

"Bakas with interesting nicknames??" Kuronue asked.

"I don't think so the only baka is a certin female whose nickname happens to be Foxy," Youko said backing Kuronue up.

"Think what ever you wish," Star smiled.

"Come on Foxy, Batty," Youko said before summoning a few plants to clean up the mess of the dead bodies.
