Summary: Disaster lurks around every corner on what is supposed to be a week filled with fun. Next time maybe they'll all think twice before going camping.
Author's Note: This is written for the LJ community 30_Lemons and is meant as a PWP oneshot. Pairings are Yusuke/Hiei with implied Kuwabara/Keiko and Kurama/Shizuru. If lemons or yaoi offends you please turn back now. Thank you to everyone who reviews :)
An uneasy silence descended upon the room as Keiko continued to spread brochures out on the coffee table. This happened every year as the time to plan a yearly get together came around. As always it was the girls who were far more concerned with where it happened. Kurama and Yusuke exchanged slightly bored looks as Keiko and Botan pointed out the advantages to each place, personally they really didn't care where they were going so long as it wasn't boring. Hiei sighed from his spot in the corner away from the group, wondering why in the hell he was here in the first place and not the Makai.
"I really like the looks of this one Botan. Not only do they have cabins big enough for all of us but they have white water rafting and kayaking as well." Keiko handed the brochure over to the ferry girl so she could look through it. Frankly they were running out of options, every time she made a suggestion Yusuke wanted to know what sort of fun things there was to do. Of course his idea of fun and hers greatly differed, she would have been happy with museums and films but he quickly killed that idea. A quick glance to Kurama told her that he wouldn't have necessarily minded but when she stole a look over at the apparition in the corner she quickly dropped the idea.
It wasn't often that they saw the elusive hybrid, especially since Yukina's untimely death. He rarely came to the Ningenkai anymore and she had the sneaking suspicion it was only because of Yusuke that he remained in contact with any of them. Perhaps this was a perfect time to set the two of them up, the attraction that they had for each other was obvious for all to see if you knew what to look for but why they hadn't acted on it no one was certain. Looking over to her husband Keiko smiled. Certainly Kazuma would help her in this, they both wanted to see Yusuke happy. Her breakup with the ex-detective had been explosive and tempers were strained to the max for the longest time but eventually things had cooled down and they had become friends again. No one could have foreseen what devastating effects that the ice maiden's death would have had on all of their relationships.
"Camping huh? We haven't done that in a while." Shizuru looked over Botan's shoulder to see what else there was to do. While rafting was fun though she wasn't altogether certain it was a good idea. Kazuma would enjoy it, at least until he bounced out of the raft and she had no desire to jump in after him. The man never had been that strong of a swimmer.
Botan nodded her head in agreement, the last time they had gone camping was six years ago and half of the group hadn't been in attendance. "Look, they even have group time where they gather around a fire and tell stories. That could be fun." The girl didn't mind camping so much providing that the bugs left her alone. Of course, they had forgotten the repellent last time and it seemed every insect in the forest had decided she would make a nice meal.
"Great, ghost stories. After what we've been through they'll probably put us to sleep." Leaning back on the couch Yusuke put his hands behind his head and observed the others. Even Keiko had seen the true horror that the world contained and would probably laugh at any story that some camp guide would have to tell. Perhaps they'd hijack the entire evening and scare the hell out of the other campers with their own tales, that could be amusing. A slight chuckle from Hiei told him that the apparition was thinking much the same thoughts.
Keiko sighed and took the brochure back. While Yusuke was probably right in this instance it still sounded like fun to her. It beat the hell out of running for your life when something wanted to turn you into a midnight snack. "If you don't want to join in then you don't have to Yusuke but I think this is the perfect place to go this year." Turning a page Keiko wandered over the rest of the activities which consisted of the normal hiking and swimming. One of the higher cliffs in the area had been designated for rock climbing and rappelling, something that might interest the guys. Lastly there was horseback riding which was something she had always wanted to do. They had hour long trail rides as well as two day trips to choose from. "While we're there I want to try horseback riding."
"I dunno, horses are awfully big Keiko." Even when she had been alive Botan had never tried riding. Of course it had all come about when one of the animals had stepped on her foot and nearly crushed it. She'd developed a healthy respect for any animal that large from then on out.
A chuckle from the corner caused them all to look over at Hiei who was shaking his head with amusement. After everything they had all been through it would seem that the feared grim reaper was afraid of an animal. This was too good of an opportunity to poke fun at her to pass up. "Woman you surprise me. You ride that infernal oar of yours like you were born on it but a mere animal scares you? Pathetic."
"Hey! I didn't say I was scared of them, I only said that they were big!" Botan scowled at the demon who still wore a condescending look on his face. Seeing he wasn't impressed her glare intensified as she crossed her arms. Just because she didn't want to ride one didn't mean that she was scared which was more than she could say for the apparition. He wouldn't even get on her oar for crying out loud. "Like you have room to talk Mr. I'm not getting on that stupid piece of wood! You won't even get on my oar and I'd be willing to bet you've never been on a horse either."
The others sat watching the two of them wondering just who was going to make the next move. Personally Yusuke agreed with Hiei about the oar thing. He'd been on it with her and the woman was a complete lunatic when flying. But he knew she was wrong about one thing, Hiei knew how to ride quite well. He'd seen it first hand when they'd both been in the Makai. Granted, it was a demon horse and it wasn't a common occurance but it proved to him that Hiei did in fact know how to ride. "Actually Botan he has."
At this Kuwabara began laughing at the mental image that came to mind. Hiei hadn't grown any in all the years that they had known each other so the animal had to positively dwarf him. "Now that's something I wanna see. Tell me Hiei, do you have to use a step ladder to get up on one?" He ducked when a book came sailing towards his head but that didn't save him from the fist that connected with his shoulder. "Dammit Urameshi what was that for?"
"Even if he did need a step ladder at least he knows how to get on one. You'd probably end up riding backwards or something." Yusuke wasn't about to admit that the same thing had happened to him the first time he had tried it. Thankfully none of them knew about it or he'd never live it down. Riding a horse wasn't exactly easy and it was just one more thing that he had to admire Hiei for, his control over the animals were perfect.
"You're right, the fool probably wouldn't even be able to maintain his seat for ten seconds much less ride for an hour." Hiei turned from the group disdainfully. It would figure, even after all this time there were certain members who still liked to crack jokes about his height. Never mind the fact that the only one who could match him in power was Yusuke. Even Kurama had ceased his pursuit of power once he decided to make his home in the Ningenkai permanent.
Kuwabara started to stand but was stopped when Keiko laid a hand on his arm. Reluctantly he settled back down though it wasn't without a glare to Yusuke and Hiei. Just because they had unresolved tension to deal with didn't mean that they could take their frustrations out on the rest of the group. Without asking he took the brochure away from Keiko and looked it over. "Well then we'll just see about that. I'm going to prove the both of you wrong, we'll take the hour long trail ride first and then we'll sign up for the two day trip. We'll see who's the better rider out of us!"
Never one to back away from a challenge Hiei smirked at the human. "Fine fool. Just try not to get hurt, if you fall off and break something I am not helping you." Ignoring the man's annoying voice he turned back towards the window. He wasn't sure why he was even going this year, each time he attended it pushed his control a little bit further to the breaking point. Lusting after Yusuke was bad enough without having the man constantly around. Taking him to bed wasn't an unappealing idea, it just came with complications. A change in their friendship would only be the start of it and he'd seen more than one relationship go sour, he didn't want to become a statistic.
"That's enough baby bro. It's still two weeks away and I don't want a migraine from listening to you yell." Shizuru leaned forward as if to emphasize her point and smirked as Kazuma fell silent. Even after all these years all it took was a look from her to quell the man. "Now that that's decided, who's up for going out to dinner?" As expected her brother and Yusuke gave her their full attention. 'Leave it to men to think with their stomachs.'
~*~
Two weeks passed by quickly and before anyone knew it they were all packed into the car ready to go. Minus Hiei of course who declined riding with them. The apparition had said he could get there faster and not have to subject himself to being crammed in with the lot of them. Of course, that was just fine with most of them since it meant more room for the rest to move around. Only Yusuke seemed disappointed by Hiei's decision, he'd been more than ready to use the opportunity to get a bit closer to the demon but it was not to be.
As the car rolled to a stop signaling their arrival at the camp site, Yusuke was the first out of the vehicle and stretching his legs. Listening to Kuwabara snore the entire way had worked his nerves and he was grateful for the reprieve. "God I thought the ride would never end." More than once he'd thought about digging through one of the suitcases and looking for something to smother the taller man with. Kurama hadn't looked exactly pleased either but he'd made the most of it and spent the majority of his time talking with Shizuru. Yusuke knew it was only a matter of time before those two hooked up.
"Now you know why I chose to get here on my own." Hiei dropped out of the tree and landed next to the Toushin, taking note that the man didn't seem terribly surprised to see him. He allowed a faint smile to cross his face. Even with how he shielded his aura Yusuke was still able to pick up on his location. It was a testament to just how strong the man had become.
Nodding slightly, Yusuke turned to look at the apparition as the others poured out of the car."I think you had the right idea, I might just join you on the way back. Anything to spare me from having to listen to him snore." Truth be told that had to be the most boring car ride he'd ever endured. With Kurama and Shizuru otherwise occupied Botan and Keiko had taken up with talking about babies. Not that he wanted to pay too much attention to what they were saying but it was fairly obvious that Keiko wanted to start a family soon. Imagining Kuwabara naked had nearly made him gouge his eyes out. He did not want those mental images, not in the least.
"I'd be surprised if you didn't." It was difficult to ignore the way that the ex-detective was gazing at him but he managed, instead keeping his attention on Keiko who was making her way to the registration office. Reservations had been made long before, now they only needed to find out which cabin they were assigned to. He rather hoped it was away from the main grounds, the sheer amounts of people surrounding them was quite annoying. If it wasn't then he had already decided he would be sleeping under the stars deeper in the forest.
Disappointment surged through Yusuke as he watched the apparition. He seemed more distant than usual and he wasn't sure what had caused it. He wasn't blind, he'd seen the way Hiei looked at him when he thought that no one was watching. He'd seen the way the hybrid's body responded to the impure thoughts that were certain to be running through his head. Most of all he'd heard the name that fell from the man's lips on the one night he'd come across Hiei pleasuring himself. Of course he had remained well hidden, he hadn't been sure how to feel about it at the time. Heaven help him if he were to see the sight again though, he'd be sure to make his presence known. "Guess we'll have to wait and see won't we?"
Hiei tensed as he felt Yusuke move in behind him. It was a casual touch, the way the Toushin's hand landed upon his shoulder but as it moved lower Hiei knew that he had to step away. The musky scent of arousal tickled his nose and his body tightened in response. Not for the first time he wished he could throw his convictions to the wind and ravish the man behind him. Shrugging the hand off carefully, Hiei leapt up into the tree he had vacated and peered down at the former leader. "I'm going to scout the area, I will return later once I ensure the area is secure." With how close they were to the border of the Makai there was a high likelihood that demons frequented the area. Of course, nothing had hit the news about it so there was a good chance the border patrol had it well in hand. Besides, it was better to be safe than sorry and at the moment he needed to get away from the object of his lust before he did something he might regret later.
Seeing Hiei take off Yusuke sighed heavily and made his way back over to the car. One way or another they needed to work out this problem between them, he just wasn't sure how to go about coaxing the demon into giving into his desires. As he approached he noticed Kurama giving him a knowing look but he knew that he shouldn't be surprised that the fox had picked up on his problem so easily. "How much longer do you think they'll be?"
Kurama looked towards the main office, the majority of the people had already left. It seemed that whatever activity they were having had moved indoors much to his relief. "Not much longer, they should return any time now and we can be on our way." Taking a chance he moved closer to Yusuke and inhaled deeply, taking in the natural scent of the man beside him. It was as he suspected, the man's arousal was self evident. What he had been searching for was Hiei's and as he had expected it was easy to find. Now that he was certain of the reason the apparition had left Kurama decided it was time to be blunt. "Beating around the bush isn't going to work with him Yusuke. You must tell him what you want upfront if you are to have a chance of succeeding.
"He's not interested Kurama, if he was he would have made a move by now. He takes what he wants, you know that." Somehow he had known that Kurama was going to say something but in this instance he was certain that the kitsune was wrong. Hiei wouldn't let anything stand in his way of getting what he wanted. The fact that the apparition hadn't killed him yet told him that Hiei valued their friendship but that didn't mean he wanted anything more.
Sometimes the toushin was incredibly thick headed and this was one of those instances. At the rate he was going Hiei was going to slip through his fingers and then where would Yusuke be? "You're wrong Yusuke, I believe he is worried about being abandoned again. But, I cannot force you into taking action. If you are willing to let him walk away then who am I to stop you? I only suggest you think carefully and decide just what it is that you want before making any final decisions."
"Fine Kurama, I'll think about it." Personally Yusuke thought that the man was seeing things that weren't there but there was always the chance that Kurama was right. He usually was the one to pick up on the finest details. Things that usually everyone else would overlook. Then again, why were they talking about this now? It wasn't as if they were in a private area. As it was Shizuru was standing next to them with a bored look on her face though for once he was glad she wasn't taking an interest.
Shizuru dropped her cigarette on the road and crushed it out while rolling her eyes. "It's about damned time you start thinking about something. I mean come on. We're in a big forest and you already know that Hiei likes the outdoors, if you can't find some time to spend with him alone and make a move then you're even more of an idiot than my brother can be." Without looking to see the stunned expression on Yusuke's face she walked to the main building. She was tired of standing there, it wasn't like his love life was the only one that sucked. Kurama it seemed was just as dense as the rest of them, short of pinning him down and tearing off his clothes she didn't know how she could make it any plainer to him that she was interested.
"Damn someone needs to get laid." Yusuke moved away when he saw the glare Kurama was giving him. "Correction, make that two people that need to get laid." Quickly before the Kitsune could make a comment or retaliation he followed Shizuru into the office. As he crammed inside the small room with everyone else he couldn't help but be reminded of the trip here in the sardine can called a car. "Are we ready yet or are we planning on camping here tonight?"
"We're signing the paperwork now Yusuke." Keiko looked over the rules of staying at the site before she put her name on the paper. Beside her Kazuma was pulling his wallet out and paying for the cabin. Now all that was left was for them to get settled and begin a week's worth of fun. When she heard Yusuke muttering 'It's about damned time.' behind her she turned to glare at him but stopped when Shizuru stepped in to handle him. It didn't matter how old the boys got, she could always make sure they behaved themselves. As much as possible for their group anyway.
~*~
"Are you sure you want to do this Kazuma?" Keiko looked at the raft with doubt even as she put the life preserver on. Never having done anything like this before she would have been happy sticking to a canoe or if the guys still insisted on traversing the river maybe taking the class I section. But no, true to form the guys thought that the easy path was just that, too easy and had signed them up for the class IV rapids. When they were questioned on their experience levels the boys lied through their teeth, figuring if they could survive the Dark Tournament no prissy river was going to do them in. Unfortunately the girls got roped into it as well even though Botan had flat put her foot down and said she wasn't getting into the boat. Keiko was tempted to do the same.
"Of course Keiko. Fear not, I, the great Kazuma Kuwabara will make sure that you do not fall into the water!" Puffing up his chest with pride, Kuwabara struck a pose which had everyone including the raft guide rolling their eyes. As he looked out at the water he couldn't see what the big deal was. If this was all they had to worry about then maybe they should have gone for the most difficult route.
Rolling her eyes, Shizuru stepped up and began making sure that the straps on his life preserver were tight enough. She'd been on rivers like this before and while she could hold her own she still thought Kazuma was going to go for a swim. Trying to convince him not to go on this had been in vain though and she was left with crossing her fingers. Once she was reasonably certain that he wasn't going to fall out of it she turned to Keiko and did the same with her. "Keiko when we get in the boat you sit by the guide. Do everything he tells you and make sure you hold on. If it gets too rough let one of us know and don't rely on Kazuma. Trust me."
Yusuke watched the three of them with no small amount of amusement. Odds were that Shizuru knew something that they didn't but he wasn't worried. He was an S-class demon now, even if he went for a swim it wasn't likely to affect him much. What surprised him though was that Hiei was coming with them, he would have thought that being a fire apparition Hiei would have an aversion to water in such abundance. It would seem that the hybrid was full of surprises. Of course it could have been he was waiting to see who went for a swim. It was unlikely that Hiei would end up in the water even on one of the worst courses, He was just along for the ride and the amusement factor. "You ready to go?"
"Of course, I wouldn't miss this for the world." Had anyone bothered asking, Hiei could have told them he had already scouted the area and seen just how bad these rapids were. But no one asked so he didn't feel the need to enlighten them. It would make listening to their screams of horror as the bottom of the boat dropped out from under them that much more enjoyable.
Seeing the wicked gleam in Hiei's eyes made Yusuke shudder. Even Kurama was looking over at him warily at his words and he couldn't help but wonder what the apparition knew that they did not. With that in mind once it was time to get into the boat he paid close attention to just where Hiei sat and chose the spot opposite of him. Keiko and Shizuru took up their positions next to the Guide which left Kurama and Kuwabara to take the back of the boat. Briefly he couldn't help but wonder if the laws of physics worked the same here as they did on roller coasters. If so he had to feel a glimmer of pity for the two in back.
Within moments they all had firm grips on their oars and were beginning to push away from shore. The water was fast but nothing to cause undue concern as they drifted down the river. A gentle breeze kept them company on their journey preventing the heat from becoming unbearable but the lack of action was becoming a cause for concern for Kuwabara. "Isn't this supposed to be a rough ride?"
Kurama of course had more sensitive hearing than any of the others and could hear the faint roar of the water up ahead. Within another couple of minutes they'd be right in the thick of the action. "Patience Kuwabara, I think you might be getting more than you are anticipating." Unseen by the others he had already taken precautions against being thrown into the water. Being a plant manipulator did have it's advantages he thought as the vines snaked underneath the cover of his shorts to avoid being seen.
"Well I hope it's soon." Kuwabara tried to peer up over Yusuke's head to see what was coming but the view was blocked. He could feel the raft beginning to pick up speed and for that he was grateful. Sparing a glance at Hiei he paled at the look the apparition was wearing. It was nothing short of sadistic pleasure and he suddenly dreaded finding out what would make the hybrid that happy.
"Here we go people! Remember what you were told at the start!"
Gripping her oar tightly, Keiko swallowed hard as she stared out in front of the boat. The waves crashed against numerous rocks sending up a foam that obscured her vision of what was beyond. "I'm going to kill you guys for this!" Suddenly the boat tilted forward violently as it hit the first drop causing her to shriek. Behind her she could hear Kuwabara's yelp of surprise as well as Yusuke who sounded as if he was enjoying himself.
Shizuru didn't have time to look backwards to see if Kazuma was alright, this was a tough course and she was doing her best to steer them towards the proper paths. If they drifted to far over to the side they would end up battered against the rocks and possibly flipping the raft. She was thankful their guide was so experienced, he was doing a fine job of taking up Keiko's slack since the girl seemed to have forgotten most of what she had been told in favor of screaming death threats at the two boys responsible for this.
Chuckling darkly to himself, Hiei handled his part with ease. Yusuke seemed to be faring fine as well which didn't surprise him somehow. Of course, it helped that they had chosen the middle which was a bit more stable if one ignored how you had to remain perched on the edge of the raft itself. Another violent drop nearly unsettled Yusuke but he was keeping a close eye on the ex-detective. Without dropping his oar he reached out with one hand and snagged hold of the man's life preserver.
"Thanks man! I owe you one!" Yusuke didn't bother keeping track of how many favors he'd managed to rack up with the apparition. Then again, he'd done the same for Hiei many times. It had become second nature to pull each other out of hot water when something came up. He cast a quick look behind him to see that Kurama was positively soaking wet and looking none too thrilled. Kuwabara didn't look much better off at the moment which was likely to be the reason for Hiei's laughter.
"Shit!" Kuwabara yelped as a large wave of water came crashing over the edge of the boat, nearly swiping him off of his seat. Barely managing to hang on he caught sight of the sadistic grin that graced Hiei's face. After seeing that he began to curse loudly. No wonder that pointy haired freak had been so happy, he had known what was coming. "You sick little bastard you knew!" The bottom dropped out beneath him again and if felt as if his stomach had been left behind about a hundred yards back. "I'm gonna---" His words were cut off as they hit a large rock which caused the raft to bounce, sending him flying into the water.
"Kazuma!" Shizuru cried out after hearing her brother hit the water, she could only hope that the man had enough sense to swim with the current and not against it. They were nearing a stretch of calmer water ahead, he'd be able to make it to shore without a problem as long as he could avoid hitting the rocks beneath the water.
"Dammit!" As much fun as he was going to have later giving Kuwabara hell for this later, Yusuke had to make sure that his friend lived through this first. Dumping his oar into the boat the toushin ignored the shouts around him. Seeing the red haired man slam into one of the larger rocks and then slip off made his decision. Without hesitation he dove off of the raft and began swimming to his friend. He didn't waste time trying to call out to him, instead he kicked off and went with the current quickly gaining ground on him.
Now that Yusuke was in the water Hiei didn't find this quite as amusing as it was before. Not that he was particularly concerned that either of them would come away injured, if the fool hadn't panicked he could have been to shore by now. Fortunately for him Yusuke had reached him and grabbed a hold of his life preserver. Already they were headed towards shore and within a few moments would be there. He could feel the relief pouring off of the two women up front and shook his head. This would teach them not to overestimate their own abilities in the future.
Coughing up some of the water he swallowed, Kuwabara hit his knees once they reached the shore. He didn't have to look behind him to hear that the others were getting closer. The hand fisted in his life jacket pulled away as Yusuke dropped to the sand as well. "Remind me again why the hell we did this?" Looking back on it now, this didn't seem like such a good idea. What if it had been Keiko or his sister to fall in?
"Ask me again later, maybe I'll remember." Yusuke closed his eyes for a moment and tried to catch his breath. Swimming in that river had been taxing even if he hadn't been fighting the current. Hearing the raft bottom scraping against the stone caused him to open them again. A pair of black boots greeted him which was slightly surprising. Suddenly a hand was extended before him which he took and allowed himself to be hauled to his feet. The breeze that was once so nice was now enough to chill him to the bone.
Keiko and Shizuru rushed to Kuwabara's side to make sure he was alright. Aside from some slight bruising from the rocks he was fine, cold and wet but fine. Looking back towards the raft she shook her head. There was no way on God's green Earth was she getting back on that boat. Turning towards the guide she gave him a weak smile. "We'll walk to the nearest shuttle from here, I think our day on the water is over."
Nodding her agreement, Shizuru went to speak to the guide to get directions. Instances like this weren't an uncommon occurance so there should be only a half a mile or less to walk at most before the shuttle could pick them up. After this much excitement all she wanted to do was return to the cabin and get cleaned up.
Fifteen minutes later saw them on a bus and headed back towards the cabin. Yusuke and Kuwabara were positively miserable in their wet clothes so it was of a slight surprise to the Toushin when Hiei ended up sitting next to him. Curiously he looked over at the apparition who didn't seem to care that his own clothes were getting more than a little damp as the towel which was wrapped around him became useless. However Yusuke wasn't about to complain as Hiei moved just a bit closer which allowed him to become just a bit warmer.
Perhaps it was his damnable desire to be closer to the former detective or maybe it was just that he didn't want to be around Yusuke if he caught a cold from his dip in the water. Regardless Hiei found himself sitting close to the man and allowing the water to seep into his own clothing. Without saying a word he pushed his ki higher earning a raised eyebrow from Kurama who was sitting across the isle from them. Not surprising was the way Yusuke responded, he would have had to have been blind to have missed how his lips were tinged blue. Suddenly he found himself with one drenched team mate pressing against him as closely as possible. Had Yusuke moved any nearer he may as well have been in his lap. "We'll be there soon and then you can get dried off." It was an observation, nothing more. Anything to distract him from the way they were practically molded together.
"How come he gets his own personal heater while I have to freeze?" Kuwabara groused and pulled his towel tighter around his body. Weren't these places supposed to carry blankets for instances such as this? And why the hell did the bus driver have the air conditioning going? Couldn't he see that they were cold and wet?
"Probably because he wasn't the one to fall in the water in the first place." Now that the danger had passed Shizuru felt more than justified in being pissy with her brother. Keiko wasn't fairing much better with her temper and at this point was refusing to talk to her husband. She'd already threatened to deck both Kazuma and Yusuke for taking them on the boat in the first place. It didn't matter that Yusuke had probably saved Kazuma from injury, she held him just as accountable for what had happened.
Kurama stared at his own damp clothes and sighed, Yusuke had the right idea. If he didn't think he'd get shoved out of the seat he'd probably be over there sharing body heat as well. Of course, he knew the reason why the apparition was doing it and if having a physical attraction to the man was the requirement for getting warm he decided that he would have to pass. Shizuru on the other hand would be another story but with the mood she was in he doubted that she'd be receptive to his advances.
~*~
For the next two days things were rather subdued. Kuwabara, Keiko and Kurama went on the trail rides like they had planned while the rest of them remained at the cabin. Yusuke didn't see the need to go until the main trip, sitting in a saddle for that long was sure to make his ass sore so he'd enjoy being pain free while he could. Hiei didn't need the practice though the thought of going just to watch Kuwabara get on a horse had tempted him. Botan of course had wanted to put it off for as long as possible and had taken the opportunity to lay out on the shore of the lake and read her book.
But things can't be delayed forever and now they all stood at the stables, some anxiously looking at the mounts that had been chosen for them. Personally Hiei didn't care what horse they gave him, he could ride almost anything on four legs so it was of no surprise when he ended up with the more spirited mount. Yusuke's was a bit on the fidgety side as well while the others ended up with the bomb proof horses that even a child could ride without fear.
"Is everyone ready to go?" There would be no guide for this trip, they'd been supplied with a map of the area and enough grain in the saddle bags for their horses. Everything else was up to them to provide. If they hadn't returned within six hours of the appointed arrival time then a search party would be sent. Since they had no one to lead them Yusuke took up the task. No one argued with him, having been used to him taking the lead in most situations and as he received various nods and a few muttered oaths he pulled himself up into the saddle.
Botan gritted her teeth in determination as she stepped up to her horse who in turn looked at her placidly. It gave her a boost of confidence when the animal didn't move away or do anything threatening however when it swatted at a fly with its tail she gave an indignant glare. "Watch it you." She could feel everyone's eyes on her and she didn't want to give that stuck up fire demon a reason to call her pathetic again. Taking a deep breath she pulled herself up onto its back and settled in for a long ride. When the animal didn't flip out on her she turned a brilliant smile onto the scowling demon. "See? Told you I wasn't scared!"
"We aren't moving yet either woman." Brushing her enthusiasm aside was easy to do and he didn't have to look at her to see the glare she threw at his back as he pulled himself up onto the bay. As expected it stepped nervously to the side, the gelding wasn't used to having a demon on its back and was letting its displeasure be known. Of course it made no difference as Hiei reined it in and forced it to settle down. "We'll see how you all fare once we're out on the trails."
"I'm sure she'll be fine." Kurama stopped the argument before it started, not having any desire to listen to them fight the entire way. The horses would pick up on the change in mood and act accordingly and then there would be a problem. Moving next to Shizuru he gave her a leg up and made sure she was seated before turning to his own horse. Kuwabara was helping Keiko onto her mount before he tackled getting on his chestnut mare.
"Come on people, we don't have all day." Impatient as always, Yusuke was more than ready to get going. Finally it seemed as if they were all set, everyone was mounted up and waiting for their placements. Eyeing them all critically he made some quick decisions based on their riding experience. "Me and Hiei will take lead since we're the more experienced riders." Seeing Kuwabara was about to protest he held up a hand and showed the map. "I know the way, you don't so deal with it. Now, Kuwabara, Keiko and Botan you three will take the center, let us know if any of you have problems. Shizuru, you and Kurama can bring up the rear. You'll be able to see if anyone's having a problem that we need to know about. Any questions?"
"Nope, let's just get moving. We only have a limited amount of time and we're wasting it by sitting here talking." Backing her mount up Shizuru allowed the others to take their places as Kurama moved his own horse to stand beside hers. She could already tell this was going to be an extremely long day by the looks of things and not for the first time she was mourning the loss of her cigarettes. They would have to wait until they stopped for lunch, they couldn't afford to rile the animals up with the smell of smoke.
The pace set was an easy one that didn't demand too much of any of the riders. The horses of course nibbled on branches that stuck out on the path as they walked but there were no other problems. It would seem the animals knew this path by heart which was quite possible given how often these riding trips were given. It gave the group plenty of opportunity to look at the passing scenery or in Yusuke's case, the apparition who moved so easily in the saddle. At the moment he didn't care if any of the others noticed, instead his gaze lingered over the hybrids arms which were bare except for the warding over the dragon.
"See something you like Urameshi?" Kuwabara couldn't help but tease his long time rival over the way he was staring at Hiei. In fact it looked as if Yusuke were ready to leap out of his saddle and tackle the apparition to the ground. If that was the case he didn't want to be there to see how fast the clothing went flying. Of course his comment immediately gained the Toushin's attention and earned him a glare from the man. Hiei on the other hand ignored him as if he hadn't said anything at all.
Botan moved her horse closer to Kuwabara and poked him in the side. "Don't tease him, you know that sooner or later they'll get things worked out. Or Yusuke will blow from the tension." Giggling behind her hand she refused to acknowledge the glare she was now being given. This time though Hiei had joined in with Yusuke, not caring to hear about their personal problems being discussed like it was today's newest gossip.
"I suggest the both of you shut up unless you'd rather find yourselves horseless." The Jagan flared briefly under his white headband as if to emphasize his point. It wouldn't take much to set the both of them on their asses in the dirt. The attraction between himself and the toushin was no one's business and he wasn't going to tolerate them butting in where they didn't belong.
Keiko shook her head as her husband paled. One of these days he'd learn that it wasn't wise to torment those two, she just hoped it was before either of them decided to pummel him to an inch of his life. He'd had enough near death experience with the missions they had once gone through, there was no need to experience that again. "Leave them alone Kazuma, it's not our business."
"This is Kazuma we're talking about here Keiko. Do you really think he can stop himself?" Really, there were some days Shizuru wasn't sure who had the bigger mouth in the group, him or Botan. She had to pull her horse up abruptly when Kuwabara turned in the saddle inadvertently jerking on the reins and bringing his own mount up short. "Pay attention to what your doing bro unless you like eating dirt. You do that again and she might throw you."
"Alright I get the point, when can we stop? I'm getting hungry." Kuwabara looked at his watch even as he nudged the animal forward. They hadn't even been on the trail for four hours yet and already his ass was getting sore. How did people manage to ride all day? Already he was looking forward to the end of this trip and they weren't even halfway through it yet.
It was tempting to throw one of the power bars in his saddle bag over his shoulder and see if he could hit the human in the head with it but Hiei refrained. It would only give the fool something more to complain about and if he had to listen to anyone bitch this entire trip someone was going to be set on fire. "Let's see the map." Ignoring the complaining going on behind him he waited for Yusuke to produce the folded piece of paper. Unless he had misjudged the distance a resting site wasn't that far ahead. While Botan was bemoaning the fact that her butt and legs were sore he calculated just how long it would take for them to reach the site. "If you two will quit whining for two seconds I'll give you an answer. There's a camp site about 10 minutes ahead. You have a choice, we can stop there for lunch and then carry on or you can turn back while those of us who aren't saddle sore continue this trip."
The comment raised a few eyebrows from the rest of the group, not that it was surprising. No, it was the fact that an insult about not being able to handle being on a horse for more than a few hours didn't accompany it. Had they annoyed the apparition that greatly that he would prefer it if they left? Somehow it wouldn't surprise Kurama. While he wasn't used to riding a horse he wasn't going to sit there and complain about it either. If the others wanted to turn back they were more than welcome to. "I will continue on for the rest of the trip."
Botan looked back and forth between the others, undecided about what she should do. Her point had been made, she had been able to get on a horse so there was nothing saying she had to continue on this little riding trip right? Sure the scenery was nice and all but was it worth being in pain? No one had told her that wearing shorts was a bad idea, the leather of the saddle chafed at her bare skin and the stinging was becoming more than a little bit painful. When they stopped she pulled her feet out of the stirrups to take a look and was unsurprised to find her inner thighs a bright red. "I think... I'd like to go back." Of course though that led to other problems such as riding back on her own.
The declaration stopped Kuwabara from saying he wasn't going to stop. Though he wasn't going to admit it riding just wasn't his thing either and he knew that Botan wasn't exactly comfortable on a horse. Would she be able to make it back on her own without problems? For that matter what would Keiko think if she wanted to continue on? Turning to his wife he tried to judge what she wanted to do before he said anything. He didn't want her upset that he was bailing on her. "Keiko do you want to keep going? Botan might get lost or something on the way back."
"No, that's okay. I'll go back with you two, I don't mind." The last thing Keiko wanted was for Botan to get hurt or lost on the way back. If that were to happen she'd never forgive herself and the less people on this trip in her opinion the better. Though she hadn't really said anything about the looks passing between their two self proclaimed leaders it was obvious something was going to happen soon. Yusuke was getting tired of waiting.
Shizuru shook her head and sighed, it would figure that they'd bail out just when things were getting interesting. Between the three of them they should be able to make it back safely. The horses knew the way so as long as they didn't fight the animals they would make their way back to the barn unharmed. "You three be careful then, stick to the path. Trust your horses, they know the way."
"All right then, we'll see you in a couple of days!" Keiko waved to the others and then turned her horse back towards the camp. A chorus of goodbyes and one grunt of annoyance reached her ears as she nudged the animal into a walk. Botan and Kuwabara were following closely behind her, eager to get back to the cabin. As she cast one last look over her shoulder she winked to Yusuke and silently wished him luck on getting the demon he wanted.
~*~
Some time after the others had left the remaining four had stopped for a quick lunch and soon set out once again. Now as they continued riding the forest around them had fallen strangely silent. Everyone's nerves slowly went on edge as the feeling of being watched came and then intensified. Hiei was just about to rip the ward off of the Jagan to pinpoint just what was stalking them when four demon's lunged out of the undergrowth and charged towards the horses. Frightened beyond belief at the appearance of these strange creatures the horses panicked. Shizuru's mount bolted back towards the barn, the place that it felt safest. It was all that she could do to hold on and keep from falling off as she tried to regain control but the animal was having none of it. Hoof beats could be heard behind her as Kurama raced after them, hoping that he could catch her in time before something disastrous happened.
Hiei's horse being the least stable of them all reared up and struck out with its hooves towards the demon. The fire apparition clung to its back desperately as the animal panicked, its screams of fear echoing through the surrounding woods. The sound was cut off abruptly as a clawed hand lashed out and nearly decapitated the horse. Hiei was off it's back in an instant as it crumpled to the ground with his sword drawn and ready to do battle. While he was engaged with one of them, the other three had taken off after Yusuke when his horse decided that fleeing deeper into the woods was its safest bet. Warily he circled the demon before him and looked for an opportunity to strike, only then would he set off after the Toushin. He had no doubts the man could take care of himself.
Drawing back on the reins as hard as he could, Yusuke tried to slow the animals headlong rush but there was no stopping the creature until it wore itself out. The sounds of the demons running behind them only fueled its terror to greater heights. Fed up with his inability to do anything he half turned in the saddle and prayed that the horse didn't buck him off. Leveling his spirit gun at the creature and fired. The blast tore through the creatures head and dropped it like a stone. Two more were left but Yusuke was forced to ignore them in favor of staying mounted for the moment as his horse veered to the right. "Fuck!"
As he continued to race through the underbrush he could hear the sounds of the demons getting further and further away until they were no more. After what seemed like an eternity he was finally able to pull his horse up and breathe a sigh of relief. He just hoped that the others were alright. It would figure that their vacation would have to be ruined by some low class assholes popping up for no reason. It was a struggle to get the tired animal to turn back and his arms felt as if he had just been in a tug of war with a semi. Suddenly a black figure dropped down out of a nearby tree, his sword still covered in blood. "Are they all dead?"
"Of course, they picked the wrong group to try and make a snack out of." Hiei cleaned the blood off of his katana before sheathing it once more and turning back towards the direction that he had come. It would take them a while to get back to the others, Yusuke's mount had more than made up for its laziness earlier in the amount of ground it had just covered and the beast was tired. Sweat poured from its body as it stood there trembling. "Shizuru and Kurama are probably halfway back to the stables by now unless they managed to get that idiotic animal stopped."
Dropping the reins momentarily Yusuke flexed his arms trying to take some of the soreness out of them. "Figures, our trip is ruined. We might as well head back I guess, we'll meet up with them on the way." At least the others had managed to head back before the attack happened, he didn't want to think about what might have happened with all the horses freaking out. "Get on, we can ride double."
Hiei stared up at the man skeptically before nodding. While he could just as easily flit from tree to tree it was a hassle, especially if they were to happen to run across anyone in the mean time. Not to mention the beast was being cantankerous again and Yusuke's patience was at an end. "Fine, but not in that saddle. It's not meant for two people." It only took a few moments for Yusuke to see what he was getting at and then to slide off of the horse. Removing the saddle was done quickly and within minutes they were both astride the animal once more, Hiei sitting in front of the Toushin. Taking the reins Hiei pointed the horse toward camp and urged it forward.
"Do you think they're alright? I didn't sense any more of them out there but we should have sensed them in the first place." It irritated him to no end that he'd been too distracted to sense four demons in the area. While Kurama could more than take care of himself and Shizuru they had to get the horses stopped first which as had just been proven was no easy task.
The question didn't surprise him any, Hiei had wondered much the same thing which was why he decided to use the Jagan to check things over. As expected they were fine, just quite a ways down the trail. It would take a while to catch up to them, assuming they waited up. Kurama had to know they were on their way back, he was connected with every bit of plant life. He'd likely already coaxed the information on their whereabouts out of the trees around them. "They are fine."
With one problem off of his mind Yusuke breathed a sigh of relief. Now all he was concerned about was getting home. That and maintaining his balance he decided as the horse made its way down a slight embankment. Instinctively his arms wrapped around the apparition's waist in order to balance himself but afterwards he found himself reluctant to let go. Of course, it was hell having the object of his desire so damned close and not be able to do anything about it. Feeling his lower body beginning to respond to that closeness he tried to squirm away from the apparition's backside but failed as the horse's gait continued to make him slide forward.
As much as he tried to ignore the erection that was continuing to rub against his backside, Hiei found it was becoming impossible. The smell of Yusuke's arousal was becoming more and more prominent and when another jarring step was taken the man groaned low in his chest. How long would his resolve hold out before it broke and he had Yusuke pinned beneath him on the ground? Maybe he should hand control of the horse over to Yusuke and do like he initially thought, travel through the trees. As if sensing his thoughts the hands around his waist tightened and and then began to caress his abdomen. "Yusuke..."
It wasn't hard to hear the indecision in Hiei's tone, he wanted this just as badly if not more so but something was holding him back. Perhaps it was just as Kurama said, he was afraid of things changing. If that was the case he'd just have to show him just how possessive he was inclined to be. "Don't stop me Hiei.. Don't.. I want this, you want it too. Don't fight me." As if to emphasize his words he buried his face in the side of the apparition's neck and nuzzled the soft skin there before nipping at a sensitive spot.
"I have to. Don't do this." Even as he told him to stop Hiei tilted his head to the side to give his would be lover better access to his neck. How often had he thought of this, dreamed of the man taking possession of him. It was just as he imagined, Yusuke doing a slow seduction that he couldn't walk away from. As his mind screamed for him to leave before this got out of hand, his body forced him to stay.
Yusuke knew he was on the verge of bolting when he felt the hybrid tense in front of him. Nipping that spot again he continued his sensuous assault on the other man's body. "Why should I? You don't know how long I've wanted you and now that I have you I don't see why I should stop. Is it that you think I'm going to run off as soon as I've fucked you?" As much as he hated dragging out the apparition's insecurities he knew that he would have to get past this if anything was to happen.
Swallowing thickly Hiei tried to stop the hand that was making its way up under his shirt. "Why wouldn't you? You've gone through as many lovers as I have in my entire life in what? Seven or eight years? What makes me any different? I refuse to become a conquest." The sexual appetites of the Mazuko were well known of and it had been the largest barrier in between them. He refused to get involved only to be cast aside when Yusuke got bored.
"Only because you kept turning me away. Had you said yes back then things would have been different." One hand crept up and grasped Hiei's chin, turning his head to the side as Yusuke ran his tongue over the apparition's lips. Groaning when the hybrid opened his mouth he allowed his tongue to slip inside and took a taste of the smaller demon. Pulling back he stared into Hiei's face, his gaze lingering over those parted lips. "You understand don't you? If I didn't I wouldn't have been able to hold myself back and I won't take you forcibly. I'd rather you come to me willingly. I can't help but want another taste of you, it's addicting." Leaning forward he captured those lips again coaxing the apparition to return the kiss. Reluctantly he pulled away giving the hybrid a chance to respond.
"And after you've had your way? What then?" It was so damned hard for him to think at the moment, if only Yusuke would stop caressing him so intimately with both his hands and his voice. He could quickly lose himself in the Toushin's touch and if he wasn't careful that was exactly what would happen. He'd never had this much of a problem staying strong before, why now? Had he fallen so far his control was no longer absolute?
Once more he began nipping along the sensitive skin of Hiei's throat, ignoring the question for the moment in favor of teasing the hybrid. However he stopped when he felt his impatience at his question being unanswered. "You sound so certain that I'll toss you aside but what happens if I want to keep you? I've waited this long Hiei, doesn't that tell you something?"
Without realizing it Hiei had brought their horse to a halt and had leaned back into Yusuke's embrace. Feeling those torturous hands on the move again he relaxed, not bothering to fight them this time. Instead he choose to enjoy the touch if only for a moment. If there was one thing he was certain of it was that Yusuke didn't string people along. If he said that he was serious he'd believe him. He just needed to hear the words. "Then tell me what you want. Don't play games, I want an honest answer."
"You Hiei, I want you. For as long as you'll have me. I won't ask for forever because I know you won't give it." Nothing was ever set in stone when it came to Hiei but Yusuke was willing to take whatever the apparition was willing to offer. He smiled as he nuzzled the demon's soft hair, feeling him relax even further. Knowing that the apparition wasn't going to resist any longer he slid off of the horse, taking the smaller demon with him. As Hiei turned in his arms he found himself being shoved against a nearby tree with sword calloused hands going to his belt.
As Hiei yanked the Toushin's pants down to the ground he stared up into the man's deep brown eyes. "You'd better mean it Yusuke, if you're unsure then say so now. Once we start this relationship if you change your mind I swear not even Koenma will be able to save you." It wasn't an idle threat, it was a testament to how possessive his kind tended to be once they settled on one lover. He'd wanted the man before him far to long to turn back once he gave in to those feelings. Should either of them stray death was sure to follow soon afterwards.
"I haven't changed my mind and I don't see it happening." Yusuke stared down into those crimson eyes willing the smaller demon to believe him. His hand cupped the side of the apparition's face and caressed it for a moment before Hiei gave a barely perceptible nod.
Seeing that the man would stand by his convictions Hiei gave in to his desires. Finally he would be able to concentrate on pleasing not only himself but Yusuke as well. Slowly he ran his tongue along the underside of the Toushin's cock, pulling a groan out of the taller man. A hand tangled in his hair, urging him to continue but not tightening to the point of pain. Taking the flared head between his lips he swirled his tongue across the sensitized skin before taking more of it into his mouth.
"Hiei.." His voice was husky as the apparition began to bob his head. While he was certain that Hiei could take much more of him in he also wanted this to last a while and if he moved to quickly it would end entirely too soon. When the hybrid began to try moving faster he tightened his grip on his hair and forced him to slow down. As much as he wanted to cum already he'd rather do it when buried deep within Hiei's body.
Reluctantly Hiei pulled back giving into the Toushin's demands. He'd had a taste of the man and he wanted more, it was tempting to show Yusuke just how demanding he could be but this time he would allow his lover to take the lead. Slowing his movements he took his time, teasing every inch of the hard cock before him wanting to drive Yusuke to the very edge of sanity just before he demanded to be taken. Seeing that his lover was beginning to pant harshly as he continued sucking him off he released the throbbing erection for a moment. Ignoring the groan of protest he yanked off his boots before beginning to remove his pants. Once his own erection was free he began to stroke it slowly as if in challenge to the man standing in front of him.
Raising an eyebrow at the hybrid Yusuke began to stalk forward, taking note of how Hiei's eyes never left his throbbing length. It would seem that his little lover was anxious for him to get down to business but that didn't mean he was ready to take him just yet. Once he was standing in front of the apparition Yusuke pulled Hiei's hand away and replaced it with his own. The intense heat radiating off of his smaller body made him want to groan, he could only imagine how it would feel to have that cock buried deep inside of him. Later he promised himself. For now he'd content himself with making Hiei beg for his touch.
It didn't take long before Hiei was slowly thrusting against his hand and for a few moments Yusuke allowed it to continue before pulling away "Let me play for now." Yusuke whispered into the apparition's ear before nipping it slightly. Carefully he lowered Hiei to the soft patch of grass on the ground and stared down at his nude form before covering him with his own body. Skin slid against skin as they rubbed their erections together. Immediately he seized the hybrid's lips, plunging his tongue deep into his mouth.
Hiei felt as if he were drowning in the storm of sensations that were overwhelming his body. Sex had always been good but now that there were emotions involved it just enhanced things so much better. Abruptly Yusuke's mouth pulled away from his to trail wet, open mouthed kisses down his chest. As he reached a nipple Hiei arched beneath his mouth, groaning when he felt the harsh sting of a nip before it was caressed gently with a soothing tongue. "Move your ass Detective!" He was growing impatient, needing to be filled by the man above him.
"Not yet." Yusuke was having entirely too much fun making the hybrid squirm beneath him. As he moved to his other nipple he brought his fingers up to Hiei's lips, coaxing him to let them in. Eagerly they were engulfed by that hot mouth, the apparition's tongue sliding over them eagerly. Once they were thoroughly wet he pulled them away and sat up, trailing them lazily down Hiei's stomach and taking note of every sensitive spot that caused him to shiver in pleasure.
Spreading his legs wider, Hiei gave the Toushin an open invitation to do anything he pleased to his body and was not disappointed when the man grasped one of his legs and placed it up on a broad shoulder. Hiei tensed slightly, he couldn't help but feel completely exposed and vulnerable in this position but as those slick fingers slid beneath his heavy sack and began probing he completely surrendered to Yusuke's dominance. As the first finger penetrated him he bit his lip, welcoming the pain. It would pass quickly and soon only pleasure would remain.
Slowly Yusuke pumped that single finger into the tight body beneath him, smirking as the apparition's breathing began a bit ragged. Pushing a bit deeper he brushed against a spot that had Hiei crying out in pleasure. Pulling back slightly he smirked at the moan that left the apparition's lips just before he thrust it in once more, striking that spot again. As he pulled away again he added a second finger and watched the hybrid carefully. By now the smaller demon was beyond any pain and only wanting more of the pleasure that had been taken away. His pleas for more only grew in frequency and the way his body demanded to be taken could not be denied Pulling his hand away one final time he moved up near the apparitions head and rested the head of his cock on his lips. "Suck it now Hiei and I'll fuck you like you want." It was all the prompting that the apparition needed as he found his erection being completely taken in. When he felt his own release rapidly approaching he pulled away, knowing he still had a job to do.
Roughly he positioned Hiei on his stomach, yanking him up to his hands and knees. There would be time later for gentle caresses, right now he knew that Hiei wanted to be taken hard. As expected no words of protest were spoken as he positioned his cock against that tight pucker that was just waiting for him. Even now as ready as he was Yusuke was fully prepared to take it slow and give Hiei a chance to grow accustomed to his larger size. The apparition however had other ideas and was growing impatient. As soon as Yusuke was ready to sink into the hot body beneath him Hiei pushed backwards, impaling himself on his lover's thick shaft. "Fuck!" Yusuke hadn't been expecting that and had to grab Hiei's hips to stop him from taking matters into his own hands.
Hiei growled his annoyance at being restrained, he'd waited long enough for this and was more than ready for Yusuke to move his ass. "Dammit Yusuke if you don't fuck me like you promised you're going to regret it!" Feeling the hands on his hips loosen Hiei began moving once more. His lover might want to take it slow but he'd had enough of the slow and torturous route. Thankfully the Toushin seemed to have taken the hint and began thrusting as he continued to move and when his sweet spot was struck again Hiei threw his head back with a cry.
Picking up the pace, Yusuke slammed into the apparition's body over and over striking his sweet spot repeatedly. He was growing addicted to the sounds of Hiei's pleas for more. Feeling the hybrid's body tightening even further around his cock Yusuke reached around and began stroking Hiei's erection in time with his thrusting. He was relentless as he pounded into the smaller demon, wanting to push Hiei to his absolute limits.
Unable to support his own weight, Hiei's arms gave out beneath him as Yusuke continued to move behind him. His cries for more were now constant but he didn't give a damn who heard him, all that mattered was reaching the end and the pleasure that came with it. "Harder Detective!" Whimpering as his request was granted he bit into his lip to keep from screaming. His release was nearing unstoppable and as the hand stroking his weeping erection continued it's maddening pace his vision went white. Stream after stream of semen splashed onto his chest as his orgasm tore through him. The feel of the cock in his ass pulsing only intensified his own pleasure as he felt Yusuke's seed flood his body.
Breathing heavily Yusuke caught himself just before he collapsed on his lover. Sweat poured off of his body as he fought to catch his breath, he was exhausted but he knew that it was well worth it. Slowly he pulled out of Hiei's body and sat back, his eyes lingering over the apparition's prone form. "The was incredible."
Hiei turned over onto his back and nodded, not trusting himself to speak at the moment. Silently they regarded each other for several long moments and Hiei couldn't stop his walls from instinctively going up once more. He trusted the man in front of him but years of isolation had taken its toll on him and he couldn't help but feel that after what had happened Yusuke would end up acting as if this had never happened.
It wasn't hard to see the way Hiei was retreating within himself once more and Yusuke was determined to stop it before it got to far. Leaning forward he tilted the apparition's face up slightly. "I meant what I said Hiei, as long as you'll have me. Not a moment less." With that he touched his lips to the hybrid's in a slow kiss, trying to convey that he was indeed serious and hadn't changed his mind.
Finally Hiei relaxed, willing to take Yusuke at his word for the moment. Perhaps things would change in the future but for now he wasn't going to worry about it. He had the one he wanted and that was what mattered. As Yusuke laid down next to him and his own eyes slid closed a whisper of youki brushed his senses causing him to curse. "We should get dressed, Kurama is on his way here." By the feel of it he hadn't taken his time about coming back either, he wasn't any more than five minutes away. Hiei pulled himself to his feet and began to tug his clothing back on while Yusuke did the same. More than likely Kurama had known exactly what was going on and had purposefully announced his presence to avoid any embarrassing situations.
"Well at least he didn't show up any sooner." As Yusuke fastened his belt he walked over to his lover and draped his arms around his shoulders. "We'll have to continue this later once we get back to the cabin. I'm sure no one will notice if we slip away." Already his mind was coming up with excuses for him to leave the cabin. Hiei came and went as he pleased and no one questioned him. It shouldn't raise any suspicion.
Smirking at the suggestion Hiei merely shook his head and went to round up the horse. It was no wonder the animal wandered away since they weren't paying any attention. As he mounted up he winced at the slight pain that had begun to form in his lower body. Of course Yusuke wouldn't be affected this time, he'd have to be sure to return the favor later.
A few minutes later saw Yusuke seated behind the apparition once more and making their way towards the main path. As expected it wasn't long before Kurama came into view with Shizuru following close behind. It would seem he had managed to get both of their horses under control. "Glad to see you two are all right." Even though Hiei had said they were fine, he was rather glad to see it with his own eyes.
"Oh yeah, we're fine and dandy. I gotta say it's about damned time the two of you finally figured it out. So tell me, was it any good?" Shizuru couldn't help but laugh at the expressions on both of their faces. Kurama's was just as amusing as they all stared at her as if she'd lost her damned mind. "What? If you boys were hoping to keep this a secret you should have gagged him Yusuke. We could hear him a mile up the path." Really, with all the screaming that was going on it was obvious to anyone in the area just what was happening. People didn't yell out 'fuck me Yusuke!' for no reason after all.
"I think that there's someone else who needs their mouth stuffed. I'm sure that Kurama would be more than willing to help you out with that Shizuru." Hiei gave the two of them a smug look before urging the horse forward. Yes, they would have a lot of explaining to do once they reached camp especially since they were down a horse. At the moment though he wasn't overly concerned about it. Instead he was rather enjoying the feeling of Yusuke pressing up against him once more and by the feel of things it wouldn't be long before they were sneaking off for some time alone. Only this time Hiei had no intension of letting Yusuke be on top, it was his turn to see just how loud he could make his lover beg.
