Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Swan Inspired Love ❯ Chapter 1

Swan Inspired Love Disclaimer: I don’t own the MSTed story or the characters MSTing it.

This story isn’t on Mediaminer, it’s on Anime-Palace.org. If the author of the MSTed story reads this, I wasn’t being mean to the story, I loved it, so I MSTed it ‘cause it seemed like an MSTable story.

Now that that’s over, on with the story! ~ ~ ~

That morning, the Reikai Tantei members woke up. And that morning, the Reikai Tantei members went to the evil MST theater in Reikai.

Botan was at the snack counter, everything was as it should be. In a way…

“Man, I can’t believe we gotta do this!” Kuwabara grumbled. Hiei glared at him.

“I hate it too, Baka Ningen, but we have to.”

Kurama sighed. “I brought aspirin in case anyone would need it.”

Yusuke looked at Koenma. Neither were complaining, but Koenma seemed kind of… off.

He shook his head, and they entered the theater.

Kuwabara: So, what fic are we reading today?

Yusuke: Dunno, let’s just read it and leave. I hate it here.

Kurama: Agreed.

>Swan Dive- Naomi Hunter

All: *silent*

>I stood behind Yusuke, each sob that was resonating from him made my heart twinge.

Yusuke: Ok, who is telling the story?

Kurama: I suppose we’ll find out later, Yusuke.

>I had tried being indifferent- I knew, we all knew once Genkai passed on her powers she would die,

Yusuke: She would?

Kurama: It’s a story, Yusuke.

Hiei: Yes, don’t take it so seriously.

>we all knew she wouldn’t want us to grieve so… but,…

Kurama: You don’t put commas and period together!

Yusuke: *starts laughing*

Kuwa: *confused*

Hiei: I thought we just said not to take it seriously, fox.

Kurama: Oops, sorry.

>why did it have to hurt so bad? Why did Yusuke have to feel such pain and torment.

Kurama: No question mark!

Yusuke: Kurama…

Koenma: Let him if he wants to, Yusuke.

>“Yusuke…” I whispered, the words barely passing my lips.

Kurama: It was a WORD, not WORDS.

Yusuke: *rolls eyes*

>He sniffled quietly and glared at me, making my heart flinch. His dark eyes were narrowed and glistened with fresh tears.

What?”

A lump formed in my throat, making me feel like I couldn’t breath, let alone speak; my vocal cords felt tight and strained.

Yusuke: We still don’t know who’s talking

>“She… Genkai wouldn’t have wanted you to cry…” I don’t want you to cry.

Yusuke: Ha ha! Whoever’s telling the story likes me!

Hiei: But what if it’s someone you don’t like?

Yusuke: *blinks* It’s a me-clone!

>“Go away.”

“Yusuke… it’s not your fault. You knew when you took her Spirit Orb that she would die without it. She came to this tournament knowing that Tagoro

Kurama: That’s not how you spell his name.

Yusuke: I never bothered about his name. I hated him.

Koenma: We all did, Yusuke.

>would kill her-” He was faster than ever as he grabbed me around the collar.

“Shut up, you pacifier junkie!

Yusuke: *blinks*

Kuwa: *starts laughing* Fic- Koenma likes you, Urameshi!

Kurama: I guess we know who’s telling the story now.

Hiei: *smirks*

>Just shut up! Urusei! Teme! Shiseiji!”

Yusuke: Whoa, I’m a bad-mouth.

Kuwa: You are one in real life, too.

Yusuke: Not like this!

>He screamed at me, shaking slightly. I stayed as limp as a rag-doll.

Yusuke….

After calling me a few more things, his voice gave out and he just shoved me back. I landed on my bottom, staring at the ground.

His voice came out low and husky

Yusuke: Ew.

>as he cursed Genkai for being so selfish, for going when she knew she’d die.

Kurama: This makes no sense.

Hiei: I was wondering when you’d say that.

>He sat down on a rock and held his head in his hands, starting to cry again.

I gradually stood, brushing off my clothing. I stepped slowly to him and placed my hand on the back of his neck, pulling his face closer to me.

Kurama: Odd situation…

Hiei: They’re going to kiss… Eventually.

Yusuke: *thinking*

>Yusuke threw his arms around my torso and hid his face in the folds of my shirt. I kept my teeth fastened to my pacifier, holding back on everything.

Kuwa: So maybe they won’t kiss at all, Shrimp!

Hiei: Shut up, Baka Ningen.

>I stroked his soft hair that fell neatly around his face. I always liked it when he had his hair down and un-gelled.

Hiei: Do you really have a preference, infant?

Koenma: *shrugs*

>I sat back on the stone ground and held him tightly in my arms.

Don’t Cry, Yusuke

Hiei: Yep, he likes Yusuke. *whispers to Kurama* I wonder if in real life too.

Kurama: *nods, and doesn’t notice the capitalized C*

>“Why…? Why did she have to do it?!” He pleaded as if I had all the answers.

Kuwa: You do, though, right?

Koenma: Most, I guess. Yusuke’s death was unexpected, along with a few other things.

>“Yusuke-kun…

Koenma: Since when do I call you -kun?

Kuwa: Yeah, we always just say our names.

>this was preordained, those two were fated to meet here on that day, at that time. It was destined that Genkai gave her powers to you and died at Tagoro’s hand. She went into this knowing it.”

“But, why, she didn’t have to go!”

All: Yes she does.

Yusuke: Just not yet.

Kurama: *chuckles*

>“No, Yusuke. She was not one to run from her fate, Genkai was never one to do so.

Koenma: So true.

>She left this upon you, Yusuke… it is now your destiny to defeat Tagoro, Yusuke, it is in your grasp, you can do it.”

“No, I can’t… not without Genkai to bitch at me and call me a dimwit and all of that-”

Yusuke: I can do perfectly fine without it.

Kurama: We all know that.

>“Yusuke, you can do this, you dimwit.” I half-smiled and he only frowned.

“It’s not the same.”

Yusuke: Yeah, she has that special way to say it, that no one else could mimic.

>He said as I cupped his face in my hands.

Listen to me, Genkai left us a message. She wants some peace and quiet while she’s up in the Reikai, she doesn’t want any dimwits bothering her, so don’t think about joining her. You have to get in there with Tagoro, Yusuke, she knows you can do it.”

Yusuke: I can kill Toguro! I just need a little help!

>He stayed quiet, then pushed out of my embrace.

My heart was fluttering like a trapped bird, just staring at him, just from holding him, just from my predilection. Kami-sama knows how much I love him, and Kami-sama also knows how forbidden and untouchable he is for me.

Yusuke: And WHY exactly am I forbidden?

Hiei: We don’t know, Baka Ningen.

Yusuke: *grumbles*

>Everything was getting warmer around us, and I could feel my ki begin to surge within me.

Koenma: And why would this increase my energy?

Hiei: Because in the story, you’re in love.

>I tried to contain it, though I wanted to throw myself into his arms and scream of how I hated to see him cry, how I wanted him, how I wanted him inside of me.

All: *blink*

Yusuke+Kuwa: Ew.

Kurama: A little descriptive.

Hiei: Plain love. Give him what he wants, detective.

Koenma+Yusuke: *blush*

>Yusuke sat cross-legged in front of me, arms crossed and looking away. He looked so beautiful that I could barely restrain myself. In fact, I didn’t. I let me pacifier, the only thing keeping me from speaking or kissing him, drop and I pressed my lips against his.

Hiei: I told you they’d kiss.

>His lips were softer than silk, but had a delicious coarseness to them and he tasted so sweet, better than the nectar of the Gods.

Hiei: No clue as to what that is. Infant?

Koenma: Same here.

>I pulled back quickly, pressing my hands tight against my mouth.

“I- I’m sorry!” I stammered, getting up quickly. He was expressionless as he picked up my pacifier and cleaned it one his shirt, then stuck in his mouth momentarily, a quick in and out--

Kuwa: Ew! Isn’t there spit on it?

Koenma: Well, I can’t help it, it’s in my mouth, after all.

>Something I’d seen ningen mothers do for their infants. He stood as well and held it out to me. I took it hesitantly, squeezing it tight into my palm. Yusuke, then turned and left me there.

Kurama: She didn’t need that comma.

Yusuke: Ugh, Kurama, please stop doing that.

>My heart tightened painfully and tears filled my eyes.

Yusuke…!

I trudged back to the hotel

Koenma: Okay, why am I in a hotel?

Others: *shrug*

>to find George awaiting me.

“Koenma-sama! Where have you been?! I’ve been so worried.”

“Please, George, leave me alone. You are dismissed for the night, go to another room, anything, just leave me be.”

“Koenma-sama?” he said as I shook my head.

“No… just go away, please.” I said firmly, opening the door to my bedroom.

Yusuke: Doesn’t her mind when you act like that?

Koenma: He knows my moods.

>Dutiful as always I heard him leave after I had locked myself in.

Yusuke: What’s the point of that? You can just un-lock the door and leave.

Hiei: He doesn’t want an idiot bothering him, so he locked the door. It’s to stop people from coming in, not going out.

Yusuke: “Nobody ever goes in, and nobody ever comes out.” (1)

Kurama: Please don’t quote that movie.

>My heart was breaking, my spirit my was dying.

Koenma: Then I’d be dead.

Yusuke: Ok, I’m confused.

Hiei: That’s not hard.

Yusuke: Shut up.

>I unfolded my fist and stared at my pacifier. I slowly put it into my mouth, tasting the saccharine essence that was left by Yusuke’s saliva.

Kuwa: Ew. Wait a minute. Does spit have flavor?

Kurama: Probably, just not to the person whom it belongs to, because you get used to it.

>I lay back on the bed and continued to suckle on it, slowly soothing myself.

Kuwa: Strange way to relax.

>Soon the flavor wasted away and left me hurting again. I wanted him so bad…. But I knew I couldn’t have him.

Yusuke: Why not?

Hiei: Who cares? It’s not real.

>Such the paradox, ne? I wanted him to touch me, I wanted it more than life itself. I undressed myself and stepped into the bath. The sudsy water reached my chin in teenage form and I slipped under. Maybe I could drown myself, that would fix it all.

Koenma: Suicide doesn’t fix anything.

Kurama: I’m glad we understand that.

>So I tried it. 2 minutes later

Kurama: Spell out T.W.O! It won’t kill you!

>And as blue as George I resurfaced, gasping for air.

Yusuke: Is it possible to be as blue as him?

Koenma: *shrugs* Dunno, but I wouldn’t advise trying it.

>It wouldn’t have helped anyway. I was a head honcho in the Reikai, I knew that by death nothing simply wentaway. That familiar ache in my manhood came again as I thought of him.

Yusuke: Oy…

Kuwa: Do we gotta read this?

Koenma: I suppose so.

>I wanted him with every bit of me, but some parts wanted him even more. I touched myself guiltily and made myself think that my hand was Yusuke’s. I bit down hard on the pacifier to prevent myself from screaming and crying as I tried to make myself come...

Yusuke: I hope this part is over, ‘cause I hate reading it.

Koenma: Besides, it’s embarrassing. I don’t act like this.

>I need this…

Koenma: No I don’t.

>I pulled myself from the bath an hour or two later and fell into bed. I was too tired to think anymore.

Kurama: Does that ever happen? Being too tired to think anymore?

Yusuke: You should know, Mr. Thinks-A-Lot.

>I had George fetch me Kurama in the morning. He would understand me with Hiei being as high-maintenance in the love department as he was.

Hiei: 0_0 What?

Yusuke: I think there’s a Hiei/Kurama pairing in here too…

Kurama: Oh great…

>Besides, I rather liked Kurama since he became a Ningen, he had grown a lot wiser in such ningen arts.

Yusuke: Have you?

Kurama: Some, but not all, I guess.

>He came to me, as fresh-faced and immaculate as ever, even though I could tell that he’d spent the night engaging in the only way Hiei could actually show his love.

Yusuke: We all know what that is, right?

Hiei: I’m not paying attention.

>“You called, Koenma-sama.” He said before taking a look at me. “Koenma-sama? Are you all right?”
I smiled weakly and gestured to the chair. “Have some tea?” I offered as he frowned.

“Koenma-sama, you look horrible.”

Yusuke: Oh yeah, nice greeting, Kurama.

Kurama: It’s not me!

>“Thanks.” I muttered as he came over and touched his fingertips gently to my cheek.

“You’ve been crying.”

Kuwa: How could he tell?

Yusuke: *shrugs*

>Kurama said, wearing that saddened frown all over his face. He softly flattened my tousled hair and sat beside me on the bed.

The former-Youko opened his arms to me and I appreciatively settled myself in them. The kitsune was quite motherly and warm, despite his past persona.

Kurama: I wasn’t evil, and it’s making me sound like a girl.

Yusuke: *chuckles*

>“Koenma-sama, please, do tell me what troubles you?” He asked in his low, effeminate cadence.

Yusuke: Does anyone have any idea of what that means?

Others: *shake heads*

>“Yusuke…”

“Yusuke, what?”
“I kissed him….by accident, kind of…he rejected me…I think.”
Kurama continued to pet my hair and sighed quietly. “Yusuke is going through quite a hard time at the moment. I fear your timing may have been bad.”

Yusuke: You think?

>“I know that!…I just didn’t want him to cry anymore.”
“It’s okay…”
“No it isn’t, Kurama, he loves Keiko, not me.”
“And I thought Hiei loved no one at all and look where I am.”

Hiei: I do like you, fox, but no love. Just clearing that up.

Kurama: *smirks* Yes, Hiei. Right.

>He said, making me look at him. “You’ll never know if you don’t tell him. It might take him some time, but…overall you might be surprised. I’m not saying this is a definite truth, but sitting around feeling sorry for yourself is no way to find out.”

Yusuke: That’s what teachers always say.

Kuwa: Wow, you listen? I’m impressed.

Yusuke: Shut up, you.

>“Can you….can you speak with him for me? Can you find out if he hates me?”

Yusuke: I don’t hate you.

Koenma: I know.

>“He doesn’t hate you, Koenma-sama, he doesn’t hate anyone, really. Aside from Tagoro, in all likelihood.”

Kurama: Spelled wrong!

Hiei: *rolls eyes*

>I listened to what Kurama told me and went looking for Yusuke. I found him right by the cave, basically where he left me.
“Yusuke…” I whispered, the words barely passing my lips. My vocal chords tightened painfully again as he looked at me, but softer this time.

Yusuke: Ok, no sense, moving on.

>“Koenma-sama…”

Koenma: Have you ever called me that?

Yusuke: No.

Kuwa: Weird fic. We get it.

>He slowly looked away and patted the space beside him. I stood on the exact spot, but didn’t sit.

“Yusuke-san! Gomen Nasai!

Kurama: Don’t need to capitalize both.

Koenma: I don’t use Japanese that much.

Kuwa: Oh WELL!

>I…I’m sorry…I shouldn’t have kissed you! I shouldn’t have… I….I’m very sorry….I…..I just wanted you to know that I…that I’ll be here for you and….that…” I love you…….” That

Kurama: Quotation marks are wrong!

Yusuke: *stares* Does this give you joy?

Kurama: None of your business.

>…I…” Yusuke’s hand quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me down, the other swiftly snatching the pacifier from my lips as he captured them with his own.

Hiei: I’d like to see that in real life.

Koenma+Yusuke: *blush*

>I could taste his sweetness again and could feel his tongue exploring the inner caverns of my mouth. The heat flared up again and my ki went through the roof.

Koenma: Again, I have no clue as to why this would increase my energy.

Yusuke: Let’s just ignore it, then.

>Urameshi Yusuke was kissing me….

Yusuke: Yeah, you noticed.

Kurama: Why would he use last name first?

Koenma: I just call him Yusuke.

>I nearly died right there in his arms.

Yusuke: But I thought it was what you wanted.

Koenma: Yusuke, I never said that!

Yusuke: Fic-you.

>He gently nuzzled my neck with his cute nose

Kuwa: Ha! He says you have a cute nose, Urameshi!

Yusuke: Shut up, Kuwabaka.

>and began to place hot kisses down my throat.

Hiei: How can kisses be hot?

Yusuke: If you’re in a sauna.

>“Thank you…” he whispered into my ear, his lips brushing the lobe and sending chills down my back.

Yusuke: What am I saying thank you for? HE’S kissing ME!

Koenma: *shrugs* I didn’t choose the fic.

>“Oh, Yusuke….I love you…” I said in the same murmured hush. His hands roamed all over my petite body

Kuwa: Pervert.

Koenma: Who said I had a small body?

Yusuke: Koenma… drop it.

>and I felt myself being pressed against the stone ground with his weight on top of me.

We were nose to nose when he smiled slightly and said. “Ore wa omae ga suki desu, Ko-chan.”

Koenma: You don’t call me that.

Yusuke: Yeah, I call you K-chan. Oops…

Hiei: *smirks* Heh, the Baka Spirit Detective gave his boss a nickname. This’ll be interesting.

Yusuke: Shut up!

>My heart was beating at the speed of light. I was elated beyond belief and so relieved. I kissed him again and again allowing him whatever he wanted. And I was happy, because Urameshi Yusuke loved me.

[Owari.]

Yusuke: The end, good, now let’s go!

Kuwa: Agreed!

*The two rush out*

Kurama noticed Koenma had stayed behind.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. Koenma shrugged.

“A few things.”

“Any about Yusuke?”

Koenma paused, carefully picking his words.

“I think I’m starting to like him, Kurama, but I’m not sure if he feels the same.”

“Well, nothing to do but ask,” Kurama said, looking at Hiei. Koenma smiled.

“You like each other, don’t you?”

Kurama chuckled and nodded. “Yes, we’re just trying to lead Yusuke and Kuwabara off the trail.”

“I don’t suppose that’ll be too hard,” Koenma replied. Kurama laughed. “Yes, you’re right.”

Hiei smirked. “I’m going back to your house, fox, if you need me.” He disappeared.

Kurama smiled and turned back to Koenma. He had a thoughtful look on his face.

“What is it?”

“I’m wondering if my dad chose this fic because he wanted this to happen.”

Kurama smiled. “Maybe so. Now let’s go.”

Koenma nodded and the two exited the theater together.

Kurama pulled Koenma over to the snack counter where Yusuke was.

“Yusuke, Koenma has something he wants to say to you.”

Yusuke turned around. “What is it?”

Koenma took a deep breath. “Well, I… I wanted to say that…”

“K-chan. I know what you’re trying to say, and I feel the same.”

Koenma blinked. “Yusuke? Are you serious?”

Yusuke smiled and nodded. “Yeah.”

Koenma smiled slightly. “Thanks, Yu-chan.”

“Oh, so I have a nickname now, too?” Yusuke asked.

Koenma blushed and nodded. “I guess so…”

Kuwabara stared at them strangely, then Hiei appeared, but Yusuke and Koenma weren’t paying attention.

“K-chan?” Yusuke asked softly. Koenma nodded, taking the pacifier out of his mouth.

They closed their eyes and their lips touched.

Kuwabara looked away, but Hiei and Kurama watched with satisfied looks on their faces.

1: That quote was from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I’m not sure if I got it right, but it fit, so I put it in.

So, did you think it was a nice end to the series? I thought it was kinda cute. I will be writing more stories, but they won’t really have anything to do with this series.

Hope you’ve liked the series, and will like the stories to come.

See ya, and review if you wish!
