Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Tears of an Angel ❯ Awakening ( Chapter 2 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I am floating on a black cloud.
My hair is spread about the ground around me. I wonder if I sould get it cut. Something short like Keiko's hair.
Those are the thoughts that walk through my head at a snails pace. I sit up. There are more clouds above me, but but mine is the only black one. I climb to my knees. That was a bad idea. My head swims. My eyes feel as if someone is holding a lighted match behind them. I let out a light groan and sink to my knees, head held protectivly in my hands, trying to dull the pounding pain.
The pain subsides slightly, shrinking into a dull ache. I don't think it's going to get any better. I crawl to the edge of the cloud. Somewhere deep in my mind, I wonder how this is possible. But I ignore that thought. I look over the edge. Tears instantly spring to my eyes at the sight that lay below. The throbbing pain flooded thourgh my mind again, cutting off all thoughts, leaving me to sink in my misery. I lay in fetal posistion, trying to shild myself from this terrible feeling. I sob, as if tears were the cause of my suffering. I can not rid my mind of the gory scene I had witnessed. Fire surged from my stomach, up my throat, and out of my mouth. Lunch is not appatizing the second time.
The cloud is shaking, like an earth quake in the sky. The inky blackness dissapates into a white fog all around me. I fall. Slipping gracefully through the air.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------
I awake with a start, bolt upright in a bed covered in white, itchy sheets. The entire room is plain. I don't remember much, but I know that I've never seen this room in my life or afterlife. A white metal table beside the bed, upon it rests a lamp with a white shade. I am beginning to understand the color scheme. Everything was white, including me. The over sized shirt I am dressed in is paper thing and ties in the back. It as blue dots all over that. At least it's not completly white.
The door opens. Someone whom I vaguely recognize walks in, a tired look on his face. His head is down, looking at the floor. Suddenly it hits me.
"Yusuke."
Yusuke's head snaps up. "Botan! Thank Kami you're awake." He runs out of the door, leaving a very confused me.
Then a stampede comes in. Choruses of 'Botan, we were so worried' and 'are you alright'. I here a 'you owe me 500 yen' from Yusuke to a red head I recognize as Kuwabara.
Slowly I look around the room placing names to people.
Kurama.
Keiko.
Shizuru.
Koenma.
But someone is missing. "Where's Hiei?" My question is met with silence. "Where is he?" I ask again, my voice stronger, demanding an answer. Koenma broke the silence.
"Botan, I'm afraid that Hiei has..."
Before he had a chance to finish, I blacked out.
