Zephyr: Hiei… get off mah computer… NOW!

Hiei: You're writing this about me anyway…

Zephyr: So…

Hiei: I should have a spiffy title!!

Zephyr: Since when do you say spiffy… ever?

Hiei: ……

Zephyr: Thought so…

Chapter 1: Babysitter Hiei

Hiei was sitting on a couch in Kurama's living room, obviously pissed.

:: Ten minutes earlier ::

Zephyr was rummaging through Kurama's cabinet of Makai plants and potions curiously. Hiei and Kurama weren't home at the moment so it was the perfect opportunity to restock on items. She had picked the lock of the cabinet and was now going through the many multicolored bottle and vials of liquid. Picking up a vial of blue liquid, she opened it and took a small whiff of its scent. The air was filled with the stench of decaying matter and made her gag. Quickly pulling out a small plant of grass in a pot, she poured a few drops of the liquid upon the plant. It twitched a few times before bursting into flames without dying. Intrigued by it, she put it carefully into her side pouch and pulled out another vial. This one was green in color and when opened, smelled of citrus fruit. She tested this potion on another plant, which resulted in the plant sprouting multiple types of citrus fruits. For the next few moments, Zephyr went through the cabinet, silently going through the potions and seeds and picking out what she needed. As she prepared to leave, she spotted in the corner of the cabinet, a small vial filled with a pink liquid.

"Hello there, were you trying to hide from meh?" Zephyr whispered and reached back and retrieved the vial.

Just as she had gotten it out of the cabinet, the front door opened and Kurama and Hiei entered the house. Zephyr hurriedly shoved the vial into her pouch and locked the cabinet. Shifting to her youkai form, she trotted out of the room towards her room, with the pouch of stolen vials and seeds in her mouth. Hiei and Kurama looked up at the small black kitten crawling along the floor, dragging her bags towards her room. They looked at each other confusedly before returning to their previous activities.

Zephyr shut the door to her room quietly and transformed back into her human form. She collapsed upon her bed and opened her pouch up, removing the vial of pink liquid. The liquid swirled around like a tornado before quieting down. Pulling out the cork, she cautiously took a small sniff of it. It smelled of vanilla. A sudden knock on her door made her jump, spilling the whole container of liquid upon her.

"SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!" Zephyr shrieked and tried to mop up the spilled liquid off her body.

"Zephyr? Kurama wants you in the kitchen right now…" Hiei opened the door and gasped, mentally frightened at what he saw.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!?!" Hiei roared and stormed over to the now… younger… Zephyr.

"Hiei, what are you scr- WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO HER!?!" Kurama screamed as he walked in behind Hiei.

Zephyr covered her small ears in pain at the volume of Hiei and Kurama's voices. When they had said she had changed, they meant it. Instead of a 5'2'' neko teen, there was a 3'2'' neko CHILD about the age of 5. She still had shortcut blue hair with silver painted through it. A white hat with kitty ear extensions tipped with black for her small kitten ears covered most of her head though. Her small bright blue eyes, still devious as ever. Though instead of her traditional silver tanktop and blue flare jeans, she had a fuzzy boa around her neck and a flowing robe falling down around her small body, attached to the boa. Her small wolfish tail swished back and forth.

Kurama and Hiei stared at the young neko child for a few moments. She was still drenched in the pink potion she had spilled on herself. Kurama spied this abandoned vial and picked it up, glaring over at Zephyr.

"You've been in my potion cabinet, haven't you?" Kurama walked up to Zephyr and crouched down to her level, bonking her on the head with the vial.

"It's Hiei's fault!! Cause if he hadn't knocked on the door, I wouldn't have spilled it all over me!!" Zephyr whined pointing at Hiei.

"Pffffff whatever, you shouldn't have been in there in the first place. Second, you should have been smart enough NOT to get caught, "Hiei retorted angrily.

"Hiei, Zephyr… shut up. Hiei, you watch over Zephyr while I get an antidote for the potion." Kurama walked to the foyer and slipped on his shoes.

"WHAT!?"

"NANI!?"

"I can't stay with him!!" Zephyr cried.

"I can't baby-sit her!!" Hiei whined.

"JUST DEAL WITH IT!" Kurama promptly walked out the door and left.

Zephyr and Hiei stared at each other angrily.

"Now look what you've done!" Hiei and Zephyr shouted at each other.

"Shut it brat!"

"Hiei no baka! Baka baka baka!!"

Hiei growled under his breath and sat down on the couch. This is where we first began our story.

"Hiei…"

"What…"

"I'm hungry…"

"Cook yourself something…"

"How?"

"I dunno."

"Your mean! Hiei no baka! Baka yarou!!"

"Where did you get such language?"

"From you, who else…"

Hiei muttered something incohersively under his breath and moved to the kitchen freezer. Opening it up, he scanned the contents. Stuffed in the back, under all the other random food articles in the freezer, such as waffles, TV dinners, and chicken, was a container of Cookie Dough Explosion Ice Cream, or Sweet Snow as Hiei called it. (A/N" Cookie Dough Explosion is most likely not a real ice cream. Mah sis and I were trying to think of a yummy ice cream that included cookies and crème and cookie dough… and viola! Cookie Dough Explosion.. ^_^) Shoving aside all the unimportant things, he snatched the container of ice crème and walked to the kitchen table. Plopping down in the nearest chair, a spoon in hand, he opened the container and started eating his beloved sweet snow.

Zephyr walked up and looked at the ice cream hungrily. Her eyes begged for a bowl. Hiei looked into her eyes and smirked. He stuck a spoonful of ice crème in his mouth and savored the taste, taunting the little neko child. Zephyr glared at Hiei and retreated into the greenhouse and crawled between the multitude of Makai plants and Ningenkai plants. Some snapped at her and tried to eat her tail, but she made it in one piece. She couldn't say the same for some of the plants. But behind the plants was a small cotton bed with a small little green creature with a leaf sprout on its head. Each of it's four little feet had three claws growing out. It was sleeping peacefully in the bed. Zephyr crawled up and nudged it awake. It yawned sleepily and blinked its purple eyes.

"Tana-chan, I have a mission for you. Yah think you can handle it?" Zephyr asked and stroked the leaves on it head.

Tana-chan cooed happily and jumped out of its bed, ready to take on this mission. Zephyr led the way back to Hiei, who was still eating the Cookie Dough Explosion happily, unaware of the plotting that would befall him. They crawled under the table, the two of them and planned out their actions. Tana-chan crawled up on the table and stared at Hiei. Hiei stared back, a spoon sticking out of his mouth.

"Kurama… one of your damn experiments got loose again…" Hiei cursed and went to take it back to the greenhouse.

Tana-chan immediately bit onto Hiei's hand as he reached for it. Zephyr cheered and snatched up the container of ice cream happily and ran to her domain. Tana-chan released Hiei's hand and ran to the door of Zephyr's room and cried a small cry. Zephyr opened her door a fraction to allow the small plant creature entrance before slamming the door shut and locking all the locks on the room. Hiei fumed as Zephyr and marched up to her door and pounded on the door angrily.

"NEKO!!!! GIVE ME BACK MY SWEET SNOW NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!" Hiei barked angrily, banging on the door with each syllable.

"I don't think so!" Zephyr chanted and stuck a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth.

Hiei fumed outside the door for a few moments before conjuring up a ball of fire and hurled it at the door. Before the fireball hit, a shield of ice covered the door and blocked the attack.

"What is it with you, water, and ice?" Hiei muttered and sat back against the wall. He watched the sun set behind the hills outside the window from his spot against the wall, watched the sky turn dark as the moon appeared and stars twinkled in the sky. The door opened next to him and Tana-chan walked out. Zephyr walked out the door shortly after, one arm curled around the ice cream and the other rubbing her eyes tiredly. Hiei looked at the young child and sighed. He picked Zephyr up into his arms and removed the ice cream from her grip, placing it back into the freezer, and reclined into the soft cushions of the couch.

"Hiei-tousama… I'm tired…" Zephyr yawned cutely and rested her head against Hiei's chest.

Hiei removed her small hat and placed it on the coffee table beside them. Her small, black with white outline, kitten ears twitched at the sudden change in temperature before resting against her hair. Hiei sighed once again and leaned back against the couch.

Kurama opened the door to his house and entered quietly. The antidote took a while longer to get and he seriously hoped that Hiei and Zephyr hadn't killed each other while he was gone. Walking into the living room, there on the couch was Hiei, asleep, with little Zephyr snuggling into the curve of his arm. Kurama smiled warmly at the two of them on the couch. He walked up to the slumbering pair and nudged Zephyr awake. She blinked her eyes sleepily and stared at Kurama. He lifted up the antidote and held out his hands for her. Zephyr lifted her arms to Kurama sleepily, who picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. Holding her over the sink, he poured the liquid over her small head, a purple color now, and set her down on the floor. Within five minutes, Zephyr regained her normal size and form, though she was dripping in purple fluid.

She cleaned herself up and trekked back to the couch, after whispering a thank you to Kurama, and curled back up into Hiei's side sleepily. Kurama shook his head and headed to his bedroom to prepare for bed.

Zephyr: Well… that was… interesting…

Hiei: I looked like a pansy!

Zephyr: No you didn't, that's how you always act!

Hiei: Feh…

Zephyr: That's what I thought…

Hiei: ::fumes::

Zephyr: Well R+R minna-san! I've got to go fawn over mah new obsession!! Ciao! ::runs off to go glomp Toboe::
