[[Sarah's P.O.V]]

As I lay back in the unstable rocking chair, settled against the wall, I propped my feet up upon the rusty table that was place conveniently before it. My katana in hand with a sharpener in the other as I scraped them against each other, making the blade strong enough to pierce through the toughest of materials, sparks reflected off of my sunglasses which I straightened for a moment before continuing with the sword.
“I'm fucking sick and tired of this, can we go now?” I groaned while rolling my blue/green eyes which were concealed under the sunglasses. My partner Melissa, who was, like me, a skilled fighter, came walking in from the shadows that cascaded over the abandoned home we had taken refuge in.
“Hold your damn horses Sparks; we can't go anywhere until I'm ready.” She snapped, she had short almost down to her shoulder length brunette hair, hazel eyes that glimmered in the slight candle light we had set up. Melissa was wearing dark, denim jeans, a black fitted t-shirt, and a black jacket over top with buttons, instead of a zipper, with a collar. I picked myself up out of my chair, my long crimson hair falling down to the middle of my back; I pushed up my glasses and sheathed my newly sharpened katana. Melissa did the same with her own and clasped the belt of daggers around her waist, and clipping her beloved desert eagle pistol to her other hip. I wore black, tight pants, and a black tank top, with a black, leather jacket over it that had the intricate design of a red and orange dragon on the back. I snatched the handgun off of the rusty table and put it at my hip, opposite the katana, then bent over as I swung the extremely large sword over my back and fixed it with a strap. It was so big it rivaled my size and if I were of any other species I wouldn't even be able to pick it an inch off the ground without breaking my arm.
“Now are you ready Melissa?” I asked with eagerness tugging at my voice, with a nod from her we stepped out of the poor excuse for a shelter and went for our daily festivities. I sniffed the air while averting my eyes in all directions, looking for the next prey, and yes, lucky me I found some tasty morsels right down the street.
“Hey….” I stated in a low tone, Melissa looked to me.
“What?”
I merely lifted my finger and pointed to the wandering group of teens, giggling and cheering for no apparent reason as they galloped down the sidewalk right to us. Her pink lips curled into a menacing smirk as she spotted them ahead then gave a small laugh of satisfaction.
“Perfect, do I lure them in this time or do you?”
With a grunt I took a few steps away.
“Be my guest.” I simply said as I walked off to rest in the dark shadows of the alley way I found nearby. Melissa hummed a meaningless tune to herself as she wiggled her fingers at her side, an anxious twitch? Oh no. This was most certainly NOT an anxious twitch; it was something much more deadly. Crossing my arms over my chest I watched the scrumptious scene I knew would take place, I licked my lips as the thought of seeping crimson blood, oozing out of the crack in their skull entered my mind.
“How delectable.” I mumbled and watched Melissa work her magic. As the group approached her, little blue shards of ice flickered around her constant wiggling fingers, which she made sure to hide behind her back. The giggling girls immediately stopped as they slowly passed her, and the boys watched her closely but she only continued to smirk.
“Excuse me…” Melissa gripped their attention quickly and the mob froze in their tracks.
“Uhh yeah?” One of the boys asked.
“Do you happen to know where the nearest coffee place is?” Her eyes held a glint of adrenaline; she was ready to cut these fools to pieces. The young boy rubbed his chin then pointed down the street.
“All the way down there, take a right, you should see- GAH!!!”
Within a second Melissa had a tight grip on his wrist with the hand that had been working hard maneuvering her fingers in such a way. And with the flick of her wrist his arm snapped right out of the place.
“AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!” He shrieked in agony, eyes bugging out as he saw the bone protruding from his right arm, blood gushed out and onto the concrete floor but he only continued to scream. The high pitched screams from the fellow girls was heard throughout the streets, I rolled my eyes, how positively annoying. Melissa laughed evilly and grabbed him by the neck, and just as he did this ice engulfed his entire body from her hand. The boy was frozen solid, there was a flash of white light before I vanished and appeared with my katana in hand now. We watched as the icy head slid off its shoulders and shattered to the cement in millions of little pieces. The screams became louder, I smirked, exposing a pointed fang and flung my katana at the first girl I decided on. The blade stabbed right into her widely opened mouth and through the back of her head, blood poured from the girls lips and down her neck to stain her clothing as she fell dead to the floor.
“Come now, don't be scared of little old us.” I teased with a psychotic smile, the yelling ceased and all they could do was back away in fear. We began to advance towards the pathetic teenagers, them backing with every step we took forward; as I walked to them I stopped for a second to yank my sword out of the girl's throat. A jolt went through me as I caught the scent of blood in my nostrils, damn these acute senses. Blood shot eyes quickly shot down to the soaked blade, crimson liquid dripping off the point, my heart pounded in my ears as I broke out into a small sweat.
“Hey! HEY!” Melissa called to me, seeing as I wasn't moving a muscle. My trembling hand reached up as I lifted the sword; swiping my fingers across it I drenched them in blood. I then slowly but surely licked it from my palm, then gradually did it more vigorously.
“Hey, HEY SPARKS!!!!!” Melissa finally screamed and grabbed me in a tight hold by the wrist, my head snapped to look over at her.
“Not now.” She growled and roughly pulled my hand down my from my lips, I blinked and once more turned my attention to the quivering teens. And I officially got back on track; a smirk found its way to my mouth as the blood trickled down my chin. I placed my two fingers on my sunglasses and brought them down just enough so my eyes were visible. They changed from their original blue/green to completely white and the teens were thrown back and onto the ground, writhing and screaming their lungs out in the process.
“I love it when you do that.” Melissa said with a sigh, a smile even curved itself onto her lips as well, how we loved to hear them shriek in pain and in agony, or even in fear.
“Ok…let's finish them.” I stated after a few moments of watching them wiggle on the ground, she nodded and we walked forward. The pathetic children were too wrapped up in their nightmares they couldn't even shield themselves from the onslaught that would soon be brought to them. I flicked my wrist and two of their heads popped right off, the only ones left were the girls.
“You get one and I get one, how does that sound?” Melissa suggested we would always divide the splendor amongst ourselves; there was always a spark of jealousy if one of us got more then the other.
“Sounds fine.” I agreed with a nod. Melissa grabbed her prey in her hands, the girl struggling to get away but the hold was strong. She whipped out a dagger and sliced her stomach open, watching with pure enjoyment as her organs poured out onto the ground, such a fantastic sight. Then with one swift movement she shoved her hand through her chest and ripped out the still beating heart that rested within her. The girl was dead, now all that was left was me and mine. I ripped off my sunglasses and placed them into my jacket pocket, my claws extended and I picked her up by the neck, them digging into the flesh of her neck. I smirked and watched her continued to scream, she wouldn't look at me, I grabbed her chin and made her.
“Look into my eyes kid!” I snapped, she trembled and her hazelnut eyes averted so they were locked in a gaze with mine.
“There you go, now have fun…” I cackled as my eyes once again turned white, her eyes widened as she screamed even louder then before, Melissa watched with an emotionless expression on her face. I held the sides of her face with both hands as they emitted heat and eventually caught flame; I watched her skin bubble, sizzle, and pop as it melted off. She let out a blood curdling screech, nothing I hadn't heard before until all that was left was bone. I opened my mouth and bit down hard into the skin of her neck, sucking out the remaining blood from the girl's system, gulping it down and feeling the warmth rush down my throat.
“Mmmmm.” I lifted my head out and panted as I caught my breath, I slowly took out my glasses and placed them back over my eyes. I licked my crimson lips and savored the taste; she arched her brow while still holding the heart in one hand.
“I swear sometimes I mistake you for a vampire.” Melissa stated in a monotone voice, she had seen it happen many times before, it was normal to her. I chuckled a bit as I heard these ridiculous words escape her mouth.
“Oh you know for damn sure I am not.” I told her, she shrugged and we walked back to our retreat in the shadowed shelter.
“God dammit Koenma what do you want now?!?!” Yusuke growled at the spirit detective team stepped into the toddler's office, awaiting the explanation for their `urgent' new mission.
“We just finished like fifty billion missions in one week do you really expect us to try and do another?!” He added in, crossing his arms over his chest and breathing out in an exasperated sigh. Koenma merely stared at him, waiting for the moment where he actually had the chance to speak, the small form of a vein protruding from his forehead.
“Ok go ahead with your speech!” Yusuke snapped and glared at him, Kurama stood leaning against the wall, Kuwabara just stood in the middle of the room, drool falling from his mouth since he had no idea what the hell was going on. Hiei was over on the window sill, he didn't give a damn about the conversation at hand, nothing really mattered to him, and anyone who even just glanced at him could figure that out
“This mission is unlike all of the other's you have been working on, I have been informed of two demon murderers who have been roaming human world and killing people for no reason at all.” He explained.
“Really? Who are they?”
“Well here, I have some pictures of the two that my spies were able to sneak in and take, they were able to send them to me before they were killed themselves.”
Yusuke paled and sweatdropped, Kurama arched an eyebrow. Koenma took out his remote and pressed the big red button, sounds forbidden but it really isn't. A photo of Melissa came up on the screen, it was through a window, and she was sitting on the worn couch we had stolen and polishing her desert eagle gun. Yusuke blinked and stared at the picture closely.
“Her name is Melissa, she is one of the murderers, she is an ice demon of the S class range, she works with…”
He clicked the button again, and a picture of me appeared on the screen, I was sitting on the roof eating a pizza. My sunglasses as before were shielding my eyes to prevent others from seeing what was hiding behind them.
“Sarah, she is a bit older and she is a fire kitsune demon, she is also an S class and very powerful.”
Hiei turned his head to look up at the pictures, when it caught his eye. He was slightly interested in this one but this he wouldn't admit to anyone or himself; he grunted and merely glared back out the window.
“They are the best killers by far, extremely skilled in all different manners of handling their victims, but it is very brutal, here are some photos of some of the poor souls who crossed their paths.”
Once more he pressed the button, and in doing so a slide show of pictures of the dead slid across the screen in order from first to last in all of the killings. All of which had been mutilated, decapitated, burned alive, frozen alive, and even those who looked like they had been drained of all blood.
“As time goes on they get better and more brutal and now they are in town, putting tons of humans in jeopardy of their sick games, I need you all to go down there and arrest them, so that I may imprison them.”
“Right…” Yusuke said and almost became sick all over himself after seeing all of these pictures of the people whom had been murdered. In fact Kuwabara was not so lucky and didn't have as strong a stomach as the detective did and threw up in the corner of the office. A vein popped out in Koenma's forehead, he pressed the button that lead to the intercom that was spread throughout the palace in speakers.
“I need an ogre down here to do some cleaning; we have a code green….literally.”
He said into it as he stared in disgust at the liquid heap in the corner. Kurama rubbed his chin as he thought about these two girls who had become ruthless killers.
“So do you have any background information on these two girls?” He questioned.
“No, their files only contain that of their names and the basics of what they can do, I mean other than knowing that they are ice and fire demons we have no idea what other powers they could have…and along with that we know nothing about who the girls really are…” He confessed.
“This will not be easy, but if we are to catch them we might as well go ahead.”
“So are we ready to go fox?” Hiei asked, becoming irritated with the whole situation and the longer he had to sit in the damn office the more annoyed he would become. This was something that no one wanted, especially poor and defenseless baby Koenma.
“Yes I believe so, come now we should devise a plan to catch them.”
Yusuke watched the oaf puke his guts out in the corner in a fetal position, then heard Kurama's words and nodded. Running over to his ill friend he pried him from the floor, green liquid and chunks of something he didn't even want to know was piled on the floor.
`He might as well get a whole cleaning crew for this one…'
Yusuke thought and wrinkled his nose in disgust; he helped Kuwabara over to the two waiting demons, one more impatient than the other. The kitsune opened a swirling portal and they stepped through, reaching human world in a matter of seconds. They were set back in the temple and went to get seated in the living room.
“Hello boys how was the meeting with Koenma?” Botan asked cheerfully, skipping into the room as her pink kimono flowed behind her.
“We have to go and arrest some killers that are running around town.”
“Who?” She asked, cocking an eyebrow in interest, she had not heard of this from Koenma.
“Some girls name Melissa and Sarah…” He said almost in a questionable type of way, as if he didn't remember who the hell they were. Botan yelled out in surprise and stumbled back in shock of what she had just heard the detective utter.
“Oh dear, are you sure you are ready for this?! Sarah and Melissa are known all throughout demon world, they are the most feared killers of this time!”
“Hn. If they are so popular then why haven't Kurama or I heard of them?”
Hiei asked this as he stood leaning against the wall on the far side of the room, the dark side if you will. She sent him a quick glare before returning to what he was saying before.
“Anyway! The reason you two haven't heard of them is because you both have been living here ever since Koenma gave you your sentence, it has been a long time and now and plenty of things have changed in Makai for the time being!”
“How much have things changed Botan?” Kurama asked.
“A lot, for instance them showing up out of no where, I believe that before they joined together they were solo artists…if you wanna call it that…but anyway, they became a huge deal in a matter of a week, this is because they started killing in demon world, but quickly became bored with it and moved to human world, Koenma has been tracking them for years but was never able to trace them!”
Botan continued to explain, waving her arms wildly around in the air. The boys merely watched her, they had never seen their grim reaper so upset about something before, and this was something new for all of them.
“Hn. I doubt they are that much of a threat, we can take them down quickly enough and then won't have to deal with them ever again.”
Hiei was becoming increasingly cocky; this caused Botan to start freaking out anymore.
“Don't you get it, this isn't like all the other missions you have had before, being cocky will get you no where, these girls are cold-blooded and extremely intelligent when it comes to finding your weak spots and then taking you down.” She said, making a firm movement with her fist.
“And when they do they won't leave anything let of you…”
Yusuke paled as he heard Botan's words, Hiei showed no emotion as usual, not caring what the peppy girl was saying. Kuwabara trembled in his clothing, turning easily paranoid as he frantically looked around the room.
“I don't want to go do this!!!” He yelled.
“We have to, or else they will kill the whole town.” Yusuke snapped, his eyes blazing with anger that these two killers were taking over his home. Kurama stood, a serious expression spread over his face.
“Come…we have no time to waste.”
