Another boring day, Harou, a 17-year-old boy with black spiky hair, blue eyes, and wore a blue headband, an orange shirt with an open gray vest over it, and black baggy pants. He was walking home from school, while cutting through the park; a gang of boys cut him off.
“Your Harou, aren’t you?” The leader asked.
“Who wants to know?” Harou stood still in front of the gang, staring at them with cold eyes. There were four boys, all about Harou’s age, but they definitely didn’t go to the same school, because anyone who does wouldn’t even dare to cross Harou.
“I do,” the leader of the gang stepped forward, “we hear about you all the time, about how you’re probably the strongest person in town”
“What’s your point?”
“Well I’m here to see if that’s true”
“Fine, if you think you stand a chance, then come on” Harou taunted the boy, he narrowed his eyes, and two of the boys were becoming afraid and started to back up.
“Hey are you sure we should try to fight Harou?” one of the boys asked shaking.
“Come on, stop being a wuss, we can take him” The leader of the gang replied.
“I dare you to try,” Harou said, “and why don’t you all attack me at once”
“The leader of the gang growled, “Your gonna regret that!” he started charging after Harou, then the other three boys followed. Harou swiftly kicked the leaders leg and he tripped and fell flat on his face, then in a flash Harou knocked the other three boys out. Harou snickered and continued on his way, until he was stopped by a voice.
“Is this what your days are always like?” Harou looked up into a near by tree, he saw a friend, he was only about 4’10” and he had black spiky hair in a different style than Harou, and with a while streak in the middle, red colored eyes, and he had on his black cloak.
“Yeah, most of the time” Harou replied.
Hiei jumped down from the tree, “And I thought your daily was boring”
“It normally is, even beating regular humans isn’t as fun as it used to be. They used to last longer than 2 seconds”
“Well maybe you’ll have more fun fighting demons”
“Yeah maybe, what do you have in mind?”
“There’s some demons wreaking havoc in the city, not that I care about the humans, I just thought it would be fun to fight something that might have a bigger chance” Hiei is a demon too, he used to be bad and wanted to rule humans and all that, until a certain Spirit Detective (someone with abnormal powers that goes on missions to protect the world from demons) brought him to the good side, so to speak. So he still doesn’t really like humans, but he’s getting used to them.
“Okay, that might be fun, let’s go, oh but we have to stop by my house first” They went to Harou’s house really quick so Harou could get his katana, which was in his room resting in it’s sheath, he strapped it around his waist, and they left.

It didn’t take long for them to get to the city. They jumped on the roofs of the buildings through the city looking for the demons. Harou and Hiei both have fantastic speed, and they can use that speed to jump very high, therefore jump from building to building without falling, plus they have good balance that also helps a lot.
“Hey, so where do you think these demons are?” Harou asked.
“I don’t know, they move around, just keep looking” They continued jumping, then heard an explosion.
“I bet that was them”
“You think” Hiei replied sarcastically. They started moving faster to reach the location of the explosion. Once they arrived, they saw a few demons jump up onto some buildings.
“How about I take them,” Harou pointed to a few of the demons going in one direction, then turned and pointed to the other ones going in the opposite direction and said, “and you take those”
“Fine with me” Hiei jumped away, then Harou did the same.
After a minute of chasing the demons, Harou caught up and cut them off on top of a flat topped building, and pretty high up.
“Hello there,” Harou smirked, “are you guys lost” Harou joked.
“Look, he thinks he can stand in our way” One of the demons snickered.
“Why don’t we teach him a lesson” Another one remarked. Harou didn’t say anything, he just stood there with that same smirk on his face. There were about 8 demons, and three of them charged after Harou, he didn’t move for a second, then once the first demon got close to him, he swiftly kneed the demon in the stomach then elbowed him in the back of the head, and the demon tumbled off the side of the building. Harou then whipped out his katana and decapitated the next two demons.
“Wow, this guy isn’t as weak as we expected” One of the demons pointed out.
“No kidding” Another replied.
“I guess you guys learned something about underestimating” Harou remarked.
One of the demons was getting cold feet, and started backing off afraid. One of the other demons saw him backing off, “Hey, where do you think you’re going?” He asked coldly.
“He’s too strong, maybe we should just go” The scared demon replied.
“We’re not gonna chicken out, we’ve trained too hard to be so easily beaten by a simple human”
Harou’s expression changed from a cocky smirk to a sort of angry look, “Sorry to tell you, but I’m not a human”
“What!?” The demon exclaimed with a questioned look.
“That’s right, I’m half demon”
“Well I don’t care, you’re still not going to beat us”
“Believe what you want”
One of the demons stepped up now, “Let me take him, I’m not as weak as those other ones” He didn’t wait for a reply, he took out his own sword and jumped forward after Harou and swung. Harou blocked with his own sword, then they went back and forth swinging and blocking until Harou got his chance when the demon came down with a vertical swing and Harou deflected him back and quickly turned around and plunged his sword behind him into the demons heart, he withdrew the sword from the demon’s body, and it fell forward and died.
The next three demons didn’t waist any time, they started charging after Harou, one of them pulling out a sword, one an axe, and the last a mace. They all took a swing at Harou one after the other, Harou dodged each one. Harou put his katana back in its sheath and fell back off the building and glided down. The demons stared for a minute shocked, until the leader demon yelled at them, “Stop staring and chase after him!” They didn’t give a second thought and jumped off the building after Harou, while the leader stayed back. Harou was almost at the bottom of the building when he twisted his body around so he was falling forward, then he pulled himself back toward the building. Once he got closer to the ground, he planted his feet on the side of the building and jumped and fell onto the highway below and landed on the back of a moving truck. He rode on top of it for a minute, until one of the demons with the sword showed up and attacked him, the demon violently swung his sword at Harou while trying to keep his balance on the moving truck. Harou ducked when the demon swung horizontally, then he stopped a vertical swing with his bare hand and pulled, the demon tumbled over and Harou kicked him in the back and the demon fell off the back of the truck onto the road where a car unaware of what was happening hit him, the car spun out of control and crashed into another car, then other vehicles behind them had to stop in order not to crash.
“Whoops” Harou didn’t mean to cause a huge accident, but he saw no one was hurt, so he continued riding the truck. Once he saw a building low enough to jump on, he took it and jumped up off the truck right as another demon was coming down and sliced the truck in half with his huge axe. Harou didn’t even know that demon was near, he hoped the person in the truck would be all right, but he didn’t have time to worry about that since the demon with the axe wasted no time and was already up on the same building, Harou stopped and waited for the demon to swing. The demon put all his strength into the axe and swung around with it, first the axe swung under Harou, so he jumped up, then ducked under the next swing, then side stepped as the last swing was a vertical one that dug into the roof of the building and got stuck. The demon was having trouble pulling the big axe out, and Harou took the chance and struck the demon in the face with his knee, and the demon lost his grip on the axe and flew back off the building.
Now where’s the next demon, he should be around here somewhere. Harou jumped up onto another building, and then continued jumping until he was gliding down off a building and the next demon with the mace broke through the wall of the building next to him and swung his mace horizontally at Harou. Harou pulled himself into a back flip to avoid the mace, then planted his feet on the demon’s head and pushed off to jump back against a building. Harou withdrew his katana then pushed off of the building with his feet down toward the demon and in a flash cut through the demon and landed on the rooftop of another smaller building while the demon fell into two pieces and tumbled down below.
Now there was only one demon left, the leader, and Harou had no clue where he was, he didn’t even see that demon chase after him before, ‘I wonder if he’s gonna try to fight me.’ Harou shrugged and started jumping again from building to building. He wasn’t necessarily looking for anything, just whatever, maybe another demon, maybe the leader of the group that he was fighting, or maybe just look for Hiei, which ever comes first. He jumped up to the top of the tallest building, which was very high up, and stood on the edge looking down at the city. He liked the view, looking over the city seeing everything, it makes him feel relaxed. Harou stood there on the edge for a few minutes just looking around, then all of a sudden the last demon, the leader, came up from behind and pushed Harou off the building, he waited a few seconds before he jumped down after Harou.
“Idiot” Harou turned his body around so he was falling backwards facing up, then he put his right arm straight out with his palm flat facing out, then he held on to his wrist with his left hand. Harou smirked and an orange Spirit Energy ball formed in his hand, “Spirit Cannon!!” Harou shot the energy ball with huge force at the demon and the force pushed Harou back, like a real cannon. The blast was heading straight for the demon, but the demon shifted his body enough to dodge the blast, “Crap” Harou flipped around to fall forward again, then pushed off the building to jump up, and landed on another rooftop then quickly jumped up again to a taller building that was too high to get to the roof from the previous roof he was just on. There was a ledge jutting out of the building, so Harou used that to his advantage, he put his right foot on it, then put all his force into that leg and pushed, and he jumped straight up, then got to the top of the building and he flipped and landed on the roof. He knew the demon was right on his tail, but he didn’t continue running, he stood there waiting for the demon to show, and he did, just a few seconds later. Harou stared at the demon, he had long white hair, icy blue eyes, and wore white pants and a white shirt underneath a closed black vest.
The demon started to speak, his voice was calm and clear, “So it is you then?”
Harou looked confused, “Do what now?”
“Yeah, I know who you are, Harou. I thought that if I spread the bait, you’d be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Once you showed up I thought it was you, but I had to make sure, which is why I had those demons test your strength, they were just tools. Now that I saw you kill all of them so easily, I’m sure you’re really Harou”
“Of course I am”
“Well now I get to have some fun. I’ve been looking for someone to fight that would stand more of a chance against me”
“What a coincidence, I’ve been feeling the same. This should be fun, but you’ve taken a lot of lives today, and I can’t let you get away with that, so I won’t refrain from killing you”
“Same here, I’m actually looking forward to ending your life”
“Okay, but first tell me your name”
“Hmm, okay I guess you could at least know the name of the one who brought you death. My name is Rushio, and I’m an Ice apparition” An Ice apparition, so he has powers over ice, this might not be so easy.
“Okay then, bring it on!” They all of a sudden vanished into the air, both of them punching and blocking each other, neither of them getting a hit in, all the while moving around in the air. The regular human eye can’t pick up their movements, they go way to fast. They broke off from each other and fell to another roof, Harou rushed after Rushio, this was not a villain that he could take his time with, he had to finish him off as quickly as possible, which won’t be so easy. Harou punched Rushio toward the jaw, but Rushio vanished and reappeared behind Harou and kicked with his left leg, but Harou quickly blocked with his left forearm, then retaliated with a right kick and hit Rushio in the chest. Rushio flew back a little but quickly recovered and flipped back and slid on his feet back to the edge of the building. In a split second, Harou was already on Rushio punching rapidly, but Rushio was able to put up his guard in time and blocked the punches with his arms in an x shape until Harou broke his guard and sent him flying with an uppercut. Rushio flew back into a building, Harou already jumped after him. Rushio smirked and ice started forming around his hand, it quickly formed into an ice sword, Harou saw what was coming, he was already in range of Rushio, but he backed off enough to where Rushio’s horizontal slash only cut his shirt. Harou withdrew his katana from the sheath and horizontally slashed at Rushio, but Rushio was able to dodge and deliver a swift kick that sent Harou flying and he crashed through a window of a building and landed on his back inside of the building. He sat up holding his head trying to regain consciousness, but didn’t have time for Rushio was now in the building with him, charging after him and coming down with a vertical slash of his ice sword. Harou saw the attack coming just in time and weakly lifted his own sword to block Rushio’s. Harou was struggling for a second, but quickly regained his strength and pushed Rushio back to give him enough time to stand up, but he had to quickly block another horizontal slash, that made him stumble back. He had to get out of this building, he jumped up and busted through the ceiling, then busted through a few more floors until he got to the roof. Wow, he was causing a lot of damage in the city, but he didn’t care, it could be fixed, besides he’s more worried about his life and other people’s life, if no one got hurt, then he didn’t care. Harou was getting tired now, he couldn’t let this fight drag on any longer, he was hovering in the air, and once Rushio came up out of the hole in the roof, Harou quickly lunged down and slashed diagonally, but Rushio backed up, and Harou got his shirt, but Harou saw blood seeping out of the cut. Harou got him, Rushio was wounded now, he put his hand over the wound and held it, the blood started to drip onto his hand.
“Well, it seems you have more in you than I thought” Rushio said fatigued.
“I can say the same about you” Harou replied, he was also tired.
“I think we will finish this another time” Rushio started to turn around until Harou yelled at him.
“No way, you started this, and I’m finishing it, I’m not done with you” Harou quickly formed an orange Spirit Energy ball in his right hand, but instead of firing it out of his palm like before, he kicked it at Rushio, “Take this!!” Harou yelled as he kicked it, but Rushio jumped up over it and disappeared. “Crap, he escaped,” Harou started saying to himself, “fine, I’ll kill him later” Harou put his sword back in his sheath, then disappeared, off to look for Hiei, then go home and rest.
