The Dance

Our eyes meet. I stare into the ruby red eyes that I adore so much, and understanding passes between us. Our bodies begin to move, cautiously at first, carefully discovering. Slowly the intensity builds.

I feel sweat begin to form on my brow in concentration. I want nothing more than to prolong this- for both of us. To capture this instant for as long as I can, remember you exactly as you are right now.

Hiei.

My fire demon.

My love.

I see the sweat on him as well. Beads that are building against his tightly bunched muscles, and trailing over his taut flesh. He is not a big man, but he is strong, and well built. His toned body is as much a weapon as my source of longing. I see his hair, standing in careless spikes around his head, small strands are becoming plastered to the skin below his Jagan eye.

I feel the need rushing up inside me, until I feel as though I will burst from the force of my emotions.

Our bodies continue to move together.

At that instant we are completely one. Our movements are perfectly synchronized in an ancient dance. The dance is building, slowly, slowly we begin to reach the climax.

And then, quite suddenly, it is over.

In a surge of energy that is so great that I feel myself crying out from the unexpectedness of it all. It is over and we stare into each others' eyes.

Our breathing is ragged as we realize that it is finished. I feel my muscles still quivering as though they are dissatisfied and wish to continue. And perhaps more is what my body wants. But I know we both need to recover.

Now, I lay in my bed, cold and alone. All alone. I am still trying to recover from the encounter. Energy that has been lost that will not return until I have slept. But how can I? Wondering where you have gone off to by yourself after that sharing.

Where are you, Hiei?

But I know that is not a question that I will ever have the answer to.

Neither I am sure will I ever know that answer that weighs even more heavily on my heart.

Will we ever do another dance together, one that is even more ancient? Will we ever experience such a profound connection outside of battle?
