It was peaceful day in the forest. Kurama sat with his back against a tree thinking about love; how he had never really found true love. He decided it was just some silly human concept. His thoughts were interrupted, however, by the loud sound of crashing trees. Kurama leapt to his feet, looking in the direction of the noise. Suddenly he saw it, stalking angrily through the forest. It was a big muscular man with blonde hair and brown eyes. He wore a belt that looked so familiar to Kurama, yet he couldn't quite place where he had seen it before. It stopped in the clearing where Kurama was standing.
"You!" he bellowed as he slobbered all over himself, "You were Hiei's partner in the Dark Tournament, weren't you!"
"What's it to you?" Kurama replied coolly.
"Your little three eyed friend killed my brother, Kuro Momotaro." So that's where Kurama had seen the belt before. It was another steaming sphere belt.
"Who are you?" Kurama asked.
"I am Kuro Gwakotaro!"
"Wow, your mother wasn't very clever when choosing manes, was she?" Kurama taunted.
"Shut up! I have sworn to avenge my bothers death by killing Hiei, but since I can't find him, his partner in crime will do just as nicely."
"What are you going to do, knock down shrubs at me?"
"No, I'm going to kill you." Kuro Gwakotaro said, taking a steaming sphere off his belt and squeezing it. A huge cloud of smoke filled the clearing. Where the mist cleared, Kurama saw a different Kuro Gwakotaro; just as evil, but twice as ugly.
"What the heck are you now?" Kurama asked, confused?
"This is the Armor of the Unicorn!" Kuro Gwakotaro bragged. A huge horn protruded from Kuro Gwakotaro's head, and his large body was covered from head to toe in white horse-like hair.
Pulling out his Rose Whip, Kurama said, "You know, it doesn't had to end like this. We don't have to fi…" he was cut off, however, by a searing pain in his left arm. He looked down to see a shard of horn sticking out of it. He looked up to see a blurry Kuro Gwakotaro grinning smugly, but then everything came into focus when he saw her standing there.
She was gorgeous. She had hot pink hair that fell to her shoulders and flipped out at the end. She looked to be about 5'3". She wore long, cream colored robes. Her eyes were stone blue, and she had the nicest legs he had ever seen The only word that came to mind was `goddess.'
"Do you need my assistance?" She asked gently.
"That is alright, I will be fine." Kurama said, struggling to stand.
"No, your pain is too great. Stay there." She ordered, "I'll take care of him." Looking confused, Kuro Gwakotaro watched as the stranger stood up and spoke.
"I am the Dark Goddess, Daria. That is all you need to know before your death"
"No one talks to Kuro Gwakotaro like that, NO ONE!" He roared.
"Don't you have a caracal to be getting back to?" Daria questioned with a smirk.
"You can make all the comments you want. There is nothing you can do!"
"Well, I could do this…" She stretched her arms above her head in a `Y' shape and closed her eyes. She seemed to be summoning something, but what Kurama couldn't tell. He then realized something odd. Since this strange woman had showed up, the pain in his arm had disappeared. He also had the strangest feeling that there were a thousand moths fluttering around in his stomach.
All of a sudden, the beautiful blue sky clouded over with giant black and gray clouds. Kurama could hear distant claps of thunder as lightning flashed across the sky. Daria's hair tossed about in the harsh wind as a large black cloud loomed over her. There was an eerie pause as all the lightning and thunder gathered in the cloud above her. Daria lifted her head towards the sky and opened her beautiful eyes. As she put her palms together, a brilliant bolt of violet light struck her. The sound shattered the air and pierced Kurama's ears. He had never been so scared in his life for anyone.
However, when the lightning was gone, so was Daria. Standing in her place was a majestic Albino tiger. The tiger glanced at Kurama. The eyes were the same light blue eyes, speckled with gray. The pupils were now slits.
Turning back to a speechless Kuro Gwakotaro, the tiger began to run at him with great speed. She leaped and with one powerful blow, her claws ripped through his flesh, slicing off his head. When Kuro Gwakotaro's head rolled by, it still had a surprised look. Kurama also noticed that the hair was smoldering where the cut was made.
Satisfied with the kill, the tiger stalked over to the same spot where Daria had been struck by lightning and closed its eyes. A single ray of sunlight shone through the blackness and, just as before, the tiger was transformed into a human. Daria walked over toward Kurama, stumbling a bit.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine. We must leave this place before it gets dark, for it will be unsafe. I have a hut a few miles from here." She bent down and tore a strip of cloth from her robes, creating a makeshift bandage for Kurama's injured arm. She helped him up and, as they disappeared into the trees, Kurama knew that he was in love with this lady.
