The Heart Of The Forbidden Child

(A/N: This is not a fic involving parings. I am a little hesitant to write Yaoi fics. Why you ask? Well I'm not that kind of girl and I don't believe in male/male relationships. I will however state that those who do have Yaoi fics, I highly respect you for your courage and for the brave attempt at such a story. This is personally Hiei's ideas on love and his relationships with the other members of the Spirit Detective team.)

Love…

Such a pathetic word used by ningens. It is probably one of the most complicated emotions in all of the Ningenkai. Ningens are weak. Love is an emotion for dreamers and fools. Those that wanted to bring misery and pain to the three worlds created it. I pay it no mind. I don't express the emotion and no one will ever express it towards me. I am the Forbidden Child after all. No one cares. I have my allies and nothing more.

The Koorime made sure that I would never be loved or cared about. They thought that they had gotten rid of me a long time ago. They are wrong. I still live to carry out my curse. My allies don't even see me for what I am. They are caught up in the love and friendships that they think they truly have.

Kurama could be considered the closest person that could be considered a friend. To me, he is just a great ally. His knowledge and skills are equal to my own, but he could greatly outwit me in battle. That is why I let him believe that we have a small friendship. He has been too tainted with ningen beliefs and has become obsessed with watching over his ningen mother.

Yusuke is a valuable and strong ally. I hold him with high respect. He has beaten me before, but I plan to get stronger and beat him. He is loyal to those that he has chosen to stand by and to those he has chosen to protect or care for. Like Kurama he has fallen to love. He has chosen to take care of his ningen girlfriend Keiko.

Kuwabara is a fool, but a loyal fool. As much as I hate to admit it, he has been there when we need him. His only problem is that he likes to let his emotions get in the way of battle. Therefore, the fool always loses. If he thinks that he will win my sister over, he is wrong. The elder koorime shield the younger from the aspects of love so his attempts are useless. Let his honor code lead him to his death.

The only person worth caring about in my life is Yukina. I could never tell her the truth about us. I am a felon. I'm sure she doesn't want to know me as such. All I can do is watch from a distance and make sure that her life is a happy one. If anyone should hurt her I will kill them. I will also kill those who tell her that I am her brother. She is too carefree and belongs in the ice world where I have been named a disgrace.

They can all fall. Love is a weak emotion that will lead them to their end. As for myself, I will always be the outcast, the Forbidden Child. I will always be the one that will never love or be loved. I don't expect to belong and I will always have this view of love. Ningens can keep the emotion and leave me to my life till the day I die.
