Kena let out an aggravated groan as she stared up the steps upon steps. "What is with Temple's and Stairs?! I mean, what do they want to prove!?!?" Kena muttered loudly to herself, throwing a rock at a nearby, innocent squirrel.

'Well, You're not just gonna get to the top without doing anything!!! Come on!!! A thousand mile journey starts with just a small step.' Her mind told her. She rolled her eyes, still looking at the stairs. 'I DON'T need a Wise Man remark!! I need a portal!!' She snapped back to herself.

She sighed, shaking her head slowly. "I'm going insane. I mean, I'm arguing with myself. That's bad..." She muttered, her eyes following the trails of the stairs yet again.

She let out another groan as she started walking, but she felt a small smile come to her face when the oh-so familiar feeling of her tennis shoes pump down against the hard stone of the steps. And after a while, she started to count.

"67...68...69...70...71...72...73!!" Kena muttered happily as she reached the top step, feeling energized now. 'Maybe that's what the stairs are for.' Kena's mind told her. But Kena didn't really have time to think, let alone adjust her eyes to her new yet old surroundings, when someone's body was thrown forwards her.

She quickly dodged and watched as the person, who she just got a mere glimps of, tumble down about 10 steps. But she did see that he had on a bright blue school uniform. And she then turned back to the attacker when she heard his laugh roar though the area.

She stared and felt her eye twitch when she saw who it was. "Y-Yusuke!?!?" She asked, hearing her own voice shift and break off, not really sure if she was seeing straight.

Yusuke stopped and stared at her, then blinked. "Eh..Who are...OH! Oh, you're that-That stupid girl!! The one who wouldn't move!!" Yusuke said, pointing at Kena.

Kena paused and glared at him, and it wasn't the first time she had done that either. She remembered glaring at him earlier that day. "My name is KENA." she said though clenched teeth, continuing to glare.

"Urameshi! I'm gonna kill you!!!" Kuwabara yelled, climbing back up the stairs on all fours.

Kena looked back at him and stared. "...Kuwabara??? What the hell are YOU doing here?!!?" Kena then asked.

"Yeah, scary, huh? A weakling like him here with us...Wait, Wait, Stupid Girl, Why the hell are YOU here?!!?" Yusuke then yelled out, it barely dawning on him that normal humans didn't know about this place.

Kena sighed. "Yeah...what ARE you doing here, Kena? And why do you have your hair up? You know, I think it looks better that way." Kuwabara said and asked, getting up.

"I'm here for the same reasons you are..." Kena murmured, knowing they didn't hear her, but she'd rather not say it out loud. At all. For some odd reason, she just didn't like talking about it. Like it was still a secret. Her little secret that nobody could know. And yet, they were now asking. "And about that second comment, I'd rather not ask your opinion." Kena then said, loud enough for them to now hear.

"...Kena?"

Kena looked back when she heard her name being called and she automatically smiled brightly at the small figure. "Genkai!!" She then said happily. "It's so great to see you again!!" Kena walked forward, torwards her former Master, but froze in her tracks once seeing who was standing behind her.

"AGAIN?" Yusuke asked quickly once hearing that word used in Kena's sentence, but being ignored.

"Shu-Shuichi?!?!" Kena screamed, and watched as the red head paused and stared at her as well.

*HA! I TOLD YOU! THAT HAS TO BE HER!* Yoko screamed laughing with pure joy. Boy, was he going to annoy Kurama with this for the rest of their life.

'Shut up, Yoko!' Kurama then snapped back, still confused by this situation.

*There's nothing to be confused about, Kurama. She's the annoying, short-tempered, mini-skirt wearing girl from that mission!!* Yoko said, obviously happy he was right.

"Kena...What are you doing here?" Kurama tried to asked calmly, but slipping and letting out a very confused and questionable voice instead.

Kena, who had been shocked, seemed to understand now, and it all sunk in. She adjusted to it easier than he did because she could almost see this coming. 'After all...I did feel his Aura. But...He couldn't see mine. He thought I was just...a normal person.' She soon smiled at him almost sympathetically, feeling sorry for her friend that was often chased by crazed fan-girls. "Well, to be completely honest, I'm not even very sure myself." She then told him, that same smile on her face, carving into her delicate features.

Genkai stepped up slowly. "Where's Hiei?" She asked in a dry tone.

"Hiei?! You mean that guy I meant earlier? I don't know...but there was just, something about him..." Kena said out loud, then froze when she felt his aura come in from no where. 'Speedy?' She thought, looking back to where he now stood.

"Hn." Was all he said.

Kena stared. 'Is...Was that...a word? He was talking earlier...' She shook it off and looked back to Genkai as she cleared her throat.

"Well, it's good to see that you are all...acquainted. But, I have a slight announcement to make. I wouldn't normally make it, Koenma would, but he was too busy to get up off of his lazy ass to do it himself." Genaki said, and Kena smirked a bit.

'Same old Genkai...' She thought, crossing her arms and shifting her weight to her right hip.

"Kena, This is your new team, the Rekai Tantei. You already know each other, and if you don't, tough. I'm not doing intro's." She said, walking back inside.

Kena paused and looked around. They were all staring at her. She coughed a bit, but decided not to say anything, knowing it would more or likely be mean, and right now, she didn't want to get into arguments.

"Shit. I thought we were getting a guy. And look, girl. This sucks. We have to go all super easy on her, too." Yusuke said, glaring off to the side. "Stupid girl. I hate her."

Yusuke let out a ragged breath as the air was knocked out if him, Kena punching him in the stomach. He doubled over. "WHY IS EVERYONE HITTING ME TODAY!?!?" He screamed, coming up with a punch, about to hit Kena back. But she, expecting that very move, quickly back flipped out of the way, landing next to Kurama. Or as she knew him, Shuichi.

*Yep. That sure is her!* Yoko said cheerily.

'But, Yusuke did just walk right into that one.' Kurama admitted, watching Kena give a small grin to herself, as she watched Yusuke and Kuwabara start to fight.

Kuwabara had hit Yusuke and screamed: "HOW COULD YOU EVEN TRY AND HIT A GIRL?! DO YOU HAVE NO HONOR, URAMESHI?!" And that's how it started.

Hiei still stood off to the side, muttered things like, "Baka's," Under his breath as he watched them fight as well, then he vanished into the forest.

Kena now looked over to Kurama. "Hi Shuichi!" She said happily, and big smile on her face.

"Call me Kurama." He told her. "We are on the same team, after all."

Kena paused then gave him a sad look, "So, If I wasn't on your team, you wouldn't tell me your nickname?" Kena asked, pouting a bit.

*That's cute.* Yoko then said out of no where.

'I'm going to pretend I never heard that.' Kurama then said back. A little earlier Yoko was complaining how he absolutely HATED this girl, and now he was saying things like, 'That's cute' about her. It was just...flat out strange.

"Well, I would, eventually." Kurama said to her after a second, smiling gently at the, 'cute' pout, as Yoko had apparently called it.

Kena smiled back. "Cute nickname. Hm, but, call me anything but Kena and I'll kill you." She said, smiling innocently.

"You don't seem very surprised by all if this." Kurama then told her, noticing how normal she was being. Well, about as normal as a Spirit Detective/insane/random girl could get.

Kena coaxed her head to the side gently. "Oh. Yeah. I hid my aura. I felt yours though...That's why I always dazed off when we were talking during class."

"And I guess that explains everything else as well." Kurama murmured.

Kena then started laughing, making Kurama look back at her and also causing Yoko to question her sanity...again. "It's just funny," Kena started, crossing her arms over her chest. "I was so anxious to meet this group. So nervous about it. And now, I'm stuck with people I already knew." Kena said, thinking about it out loud.

Kurama paused. "Is that such a bad thing?" He then asked.

Kena turned back to him and smiled gently, her purple orbs turned lighter under the Sun's evening rays. "Hm...Nah. I doubt it." Kena looked back to the fight and then sighed. "But, I know, sooner or later, I'm going to regret this." She muttered, reassuring herself she would probably grow to hate all of this very soon.

Yusuke stood up and cleaned the dirt off of his green jumpsuit. "Well, that's over with." Under his feet was a very...dead looking Kuwabara. But, he was breathing. He was also bleeding and had obvious bruises on his body and face, along with fresh scratches here and there.

Kena quickly found herself smiling again. "Maybe I won't hate this so much after all..."

.::Later, in Genkai's Temple::.

'I HATE THIS!!!' Kena found herself mentally screaming. She was seething and clenching her fists at her sides.

.::flashback::.

It had been dinnertime, Kena had been invited, when Genkai had pulled up a conversation about cleaning out a room in the West Wing. And the older woman's smoky brown eyes scrolled over to Kena, who was sitting across from her at the table. That's when she pulled up Kena in her conversation.

"Kena, since you are in this group after all, I've decided that you are going to live here." Was what Genkai said.

Kena almost choked on the small bite of food she had just taken. Once she could breath correctly, she looked up at Genkai in shock. "What?!" She had asked, raising her voice a little more than she had wanted.

"You have no choice. I have indicated Itsuki, You're mother, and she said that she's rather you live here than a dingy hotel." Genkai said in the same raspy tone, but this time she smiled at Kena.

Kena just paused, not really knowing what to do, other than answer in a very soft voice, "Okay..." while nodding very, very gently.

.::End flashback::.

But THAT's not the part that she hated about this. Defiantly not. Actually, she had liked the thought to live in Genkai's temple, rather than a, 'Dingy Hotel', as Genkai had put it. But, what she hated was much worse than that.

It was even worse than Kuwabara and Yusuke, EVEN Hiei. It was just the cheery to top this huge, Let's-ruin-Kena's-life Sunday.

But what she had hated was...

'I HAVE TO SHARE A ROOM WITH KURAMA?!?!?!'
