Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ The Life Chosen To Live By ❯ To Join Or Not To Join ( Chapter 2 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Loveanime18: Konnichiwa guys. I would like to say what no one actually commented me on. In the previous chapter I had Kuroune call Kiyomi a youkai though clearly mentioned both Yoko and Kuroune know she's a hanyou. So how many of you caught on to that? Anyway I'll explain the significance why I had Kuroune say it. Kuroune calls `you' a youkai to show he is treating you with equality as if you were a full fledged youkai. He's was showing respect towards you is what he was basically doing. I have a bit more time on my hands, but not much more there are other matters which still greatly concern me. Oh yeah I looked at my side notes from last chapter and I realized I left out jyaki and sumimasen. Jyaki is Japanese for demonic aura and sumimasen is Japanese for sorry. Besides that I have nothing to say so onward with the story.
The Life Chosen To Live By
--To join or not to join--
-Chapter 1-
/YuYu Hakusho Yoko Love Story/
You ran as fast as you could back to the cave getting there in about five minutes. Once there you slumped down to the ground. You always hated being depressed and worst of all you seemed weak in front of people you just met. You hated to be thought of as weak. Most likely a side effect of being mistreated by other youkai growing up for being a hanyou.
`I wish I didn't run off,' you thought, `it only made me seem weak. Yoko probably saw that and that's why he let me go.'
You hear the thunder crackle outside the cave which calmed you a bit. The rain, thunder and lighting all helped you feel better when you were down. You didn't know why all you knew is that it made you feel better. Feeling better about yourself you got up off the ground. You were trying to decide if you should continue on your own or go find Yoko and Kuroune.
`Yoko accepted me even though he knew I was a hanyou and so did Kuroune. And now that I think about it they were pretty kind to me,' you leaned back on the cave walls crossing your arms. `They accepted me... They accepted me,' you repeated in your head.
“Wait THEY ACCEPTED ME! They accepted me as a hanyou. They didn't care at all that I was a hanyou. Yoko even asked me to join him,” you said aloud. You pushed yourself off the wall and you could actually see the rain clearing up.
“I've gotta go back to find them,” you said, running out the cave back tracking your steps to where you separated.
---------------
“Yoko, are you positive that you wanted to let Kiyomi go?” Kuroune asked for the hundredth. He's been asking that question every since he watched you run off into the forest.
“Kuroune, I know what I'm doing,” Yoko replied, who is now sitting under the shade of a tree.
“Well you never let an onna get away before. Plus she seemed to be more important to you then any other onna before also,” Kuroune pointed out.
“Kuroune, she'll come back. I know she will,” Yoko said.
“Now what makes you so sure that she will?” Kuroune asked, “You know she could've acted liked that just to get away.”
“Probably, but that would be underhanded and you heard her earlier. She doesn't do anything un-honorable,” Yoko replied. “Plus she's more attached to me then she thinks.” Yoko smirked at this and Kuroune just sighed in defeat.
“I'm starting to think Kiyomi was right when she said you had an inflated ego,” Kuroune said.
“Kuro, now that hurts. Having my best-friend side with an onna we just met,” Yoko said, sarcastically.
“You are the one who invited her to join us,” Kuroune smirked.
“Kiyo is smart and very strong at that too. She would've been a great addition,” Yoko said.
“I thought you said you were sure she would come back?” Kuroune arched his eyebrow.
“Since when did you really pay attention to me when I talked about that kind of stuff?” Yoko asked.
“You know I pay attention to when you talk,” Yoko gave Kuroune a yeah-right-sure-you-do look, “... most of the time.”
“We better head back. The others might start wondering where we are. Since we just up and left without a word,” Yoko said, getting up stretching a bit.
“So Yoko?” Kuroune said, in a questioning tone.
“Kuro, for the last time I'm sure what I did was right,” Yoko replied before the question was asked.
“I'm just checking,” Kuroune said.
“Checking one or two times ok, but Kuro you asked about twenty times-” Yoko started.
“Twenty-one,” Kuroune added.
“You're proving my point here you know,” Yoko said.
The both then run off back home.
---------------
You've finally got to back where Yoko and Kuroune were when you last saw them and they were nowhere to be seen. You could smell their scent and it was still strong so you figured that they didn't leave not too long ago and you should be able to follow. You continued to follow the scent it after about following it for an hour or so you finally come upon a big mansion. You were about to go to the front door when you heard voices and took cover in the branch of a tree.
`Why am I even hiding this is so stupid. Yoko was the one who said I could come. Why am I acting like such a baka lately?' you thought. You then saw a group of three youkai coming over. One was a neko, another was an ice youkai and the last was a ookami like yourself, but he seemed vaguely familiar to you. He was an ookami. You might have known him or seen him around. Your father was pretty much the leader of the ookami tribe.
“Yoko came back guys,” the ice youkai informed.
“Finally, he said we were going to go over tactics for the next theft, but he up and left early today without a word,” the neko youkai said.
“He also brought Kuroune with him,” the ice youkai added.
“C'mon you two, you know if Yoko were to take off it must be important and for Kuroune to go with him it must make it really important. Why else would they both leave with out telling us?” the ookami said, “let's just go on inside.”
“You go ahead there's something I want to check out,” the neko said, “but I require Fumihiko.”
“Just get back inside before we start that meeting Nobuhiro,” the ookami said.
“Don't worry we'll be there in a few minutes Sano,” the neko, Nobuhiro said. Sano went inside the mansion while Fumihiko and Nobuhiro just stood there waiting for Sano to close the door.
“You know you have to get better at concealing yourself,” Nobuhiro yells out. Your heart raced and you swear it skipped a beat.
`I shouldn't be scared. Jeez at what is displayed of their power levels now. I could beat them no sweat. I'm so out of it today,' you thought.
“Kaname, you have to hide even better then that to surprise us,” Fumihiko said. Just then out of a tree probably about ten yards away. There was another neko.
“So what you caught on to me. I'll surprise you next time,” the neko, Kaname said.
“Yeah sure you will,” Fumihiko said, sarcastically.
“No I'm serious,” Kaname said.
“And I believe you onee-san,” Nobuhiko said, in a taunting voice. They were walking in to the mansion when you sighed.
“That was close,” you mumbled, but that's when the three of them turned around facing your direction.
“You heard that?” Kaname asked.
“I sure did,” Fumihiko replied.
`Dammit,' you thought, wanting to slam your head on the tree, but then you would give away where you were if they didn't discover where exactly where you were already. You were about to get out of the tree and go to a different one, preferably one farther away, but that's when you realized your leg got twisted in some sort of vine and once you tried to get out you fell off the branch hanging upside down.
“Well that could've gone better,” you mumbled.
“Hey look. That must be who caused the noise,” Fumihiko exclaimed.
“Nnnnnoooooo,” Kaname said, sarcastically.
“Oh shut up Kaname,” Fumihiko said. The three rushed over to you and glared at you long and hard.
“Don't all talk at once,” you said, sarcastically.
“What the hell are you doing here hanyou!” Nobuhiko yelled, in a questioning tone.
“Well I just felt like hanging out in tree and as you can see it became quite literal,” you smirked.
“Don't be smart with us,” Fumihiko yelled.
“I would so mock you if your voice wasn't so annoying that it would probably mean me ripping my ears out in the process,” you shot back, Fumihiko grunted and looked extremely pissed off at you or your remark.
“Where do you get the right to say such remarks, hanyou? You should be grateful we haven't killed you yet for trespassing,” Nobuhiko said.
You scoffed and said, “Yeah right. You beat me in a fight. I don't think so.”
“Wanna back that trash talk up?” Nobuhiko asked, daringly.
“I would, but I actually have a life I need to attend to,” you said, untying yourself from the vines and gracefully landing on your feet. You walk away and that's when Nobuhiko yelled out insults at you which you chose to ignore. You continued on your way, but that's when you sensed a fire ball come at you and you swiftly move over to the right dodging the attack.
“You might want to become faster before ever doing that again,” you said.
Nobuhiko then ran over to you and made an attempt to punch you from behind, which in the end didn't prevail since you quickly moved what appeared to the naked eye, was you teleported then reappear behind him. That's when you took your chance and with quick swift movement with your arm you punched him in the back then you grabbed him and threw him in the direction of the mansion.
“Don't say I didn't warn ya,” you said, you turned around and hit something or someone when you looked up you saw you bumped into... Yoko. You didn't actual expect Yoko to show up and especially not right in front of you. You jumped back a bit because of his sudden emergence and said, “Dammit Yoko don't scare me like that.”
“You weren't planning on leaving now where you?” Yoko asked.
“Maybe, maybe not,” you replied.
“Yoko, you know this hanyou!” Fumihiko exclaimed.
“Hai, I met her the other day and I saw her again today,” Yoko turned to you, “I knew you would come to find me, but I didn't think this soon. You must like me more then what you claim.”
“I'm wondering why I even came. You'll just piss me off with your inflated ego,” you replied.
“You know you have had Kuroune agreeing with you now with the whole inflated ego. It's one thing to hear it from you, but another from my own best friend,” Yoko said.
“Well if he agrees with me it must be true then,” you replied.
“Yoko-sama, do you mind explaining who she is?” Kaname asked.
“My name is Kiyomi,” you said.
“I offered to her to join us,” Yoko said.
“WHA! A hanyou in this band of thieves! You have to be kidding me Yoko,” Nobuhiko yelled, finally getting up.
“I think first hand you should know why I offered. She's an excellent fighter though she hasn't gone on a hunt. She will prove to be fatal in due time,” Yoko said.
“Domo for the compliments, but I haven't decided yet. I want to see how everything works here,” you said.
“Don't go lying to my Kiyo. I know you came to join so stop being so damn proud and just say `I want to join',” Yoko said.
“Maybe I don't want to,” you replied, in a taunting voice.
“So you won't disagree that you thought about joining,” Yoko said, smugly.
“Yoko shut the hell up,” you retorted.
“How dare you talk to Yoko-sama like that! Where do you get the right to talk to Yoko-sama like that!” Kaname yelled.
“It's alright Kaname,” Yoko winked at you, “it's the way she shows her affection for me.”
“Dream on,” you yelled, hitting Yoko in the back of the head, causing him to stumble forward.
“Now you're hitting Yoko-sama!” Kaname exclaimed.
“Yoko, you can't be serious,” Fumihiko said.
“Very,” Yoko said, straighten up.
“So do you want to come inside now or what?” Yoko asked, putting his arm on your shoulder.
“I'll go inside. Just not with you,” you said, removing Yoko's arm from your shoulder.
“It's an improvement at least,” Yoko sighed, walking into the mansion and you followed right behind him.
`I can't believe the way that hanyou treated Yoko-sama. What a rude hanyou she is,' Kaname thought. Only thoughts of hate filled her mind thinking about you and the way you treated Yoko.
“C'mon Kaname, we better go inside,” Fumihiko said.
“Alright let's get going,” Kaname agreed. The group of three followed you inside the mansion. Once you entered the mansion, you noticed right away the looks you were getting from other youkai present in the room and shot glares at them every single one of them. Yoko took notice to this and chuckled a bit.
“Mind sharing what you find so funny?” you asked, in a cold manner.
“Well looks like you went back to your cold self,” Yoko said.
“Got a problem with that?” you asked.
“No not at all,” Yoko replied.
“Good,” you said, crossing your arms.
“What is a hanyou doing here Yoko?” one youkai finally spoken up.
“I thought she would make a great addition,” Yoko said.
“You- You mean join us!” another youkai exclaimed.
“Why is that a problem!” you lashed out, the two youkai quieted down fearing of what you would do.
“Well looks like you scared some of them already,” Yoko said, in a flattering tone.
“Yoko, I don't want to hear it,” you said.
“Well, well looks like you were right Yoko. Kiyomi did come back,” you heard a voice enter the room. You turn to see who said it and it was Kuroune.
“Kuroune, why am I not surprised?” you said, in a sarcastic questioning tone.
“So I guess you missed us to much to stay wallowing in sadness,” Kuroune said.
“Don't flatter yourself,” you said.
“So I guess you came here just to see me then,” Yoko said, once again putting his arm on your shoulder.
“Yoko, don't make me make you look bad in front of your friends,” you said, full of venom.
“Now why deny what we share?” Yoko asked.
“How can I deny something that we never had or will never have?” you asked, defiantly pushing his arm off you.
“Now, now Kiyo, I wouldn't want to teach you first hand how to behave. On second thought keep doing so because if I teach then no one could disturb us,” Yoko said.
“Don't say I didn't warn ya Yoko,” you said, pushing him off of you onto the floor. Every youkai in the room stared wide eye at you to what you did to Yoko and they were just as shocked that Yoko didn't do a thing.
“You hit Yoko-sama again! How could you just hit Yoko-sama again!” Kaname exclaimed.
“Well actually it's really easy. You see first Yoko pisses me off the I give him a warning then he continues to piss me off so then I sock him,” you replied.
“That was a rhetorical question,” Kaname said.
“I know. I just like pissing you off,” you smirked. Kaname looked like she really wanted to hit you now and she probably would have if Fumihiko and Nobuhiko didn't hold her back.
“Let her go. I can easily kick her sumimasen ass,” you said. Kaname struggled even harder to break free from the both of them, but Yoko got up and walked over to Kaname.
“Kaname calm down. It's just words remember that,” Yoko informed.
“Alright Yoko-sama,” Kaname replied, calming down.
`Oh jeez, don't tell me this girl actually has a crush on this perv,' you thought, in disgust subconsciously shuddering.
“Hey is something wrong Kiyomi?” Kuroune asked, whispering behind you.
“Uh, no. Why?”
“Well you just shuddered just now.”
“Oh that. Just a thought I had there for a second.”
“What was it?”
“Well it was the thought of Kaname has a crush on that perverted kitsune.”
“Oh that. Kaname does appear to have a crush on Yoko.”
“Do you think he knows?”
“Most likely, but he ignores the fact that she does. He doesn't have any feeling for her at all. I think he thinks of Kaname more as a little sister then ever a lover.”
“Well if you ask me that's to her benefit. If the two were actually going to become a couple, it would cause nothing, but problems since Yoko is such a damn womanizer.”
“What are you talking about over there,” Yoko asked, in a knowing voice.
“Yoko what the hell I talk about with someone is none of your business,” you yelled.
“Oh Yoko were you jealous since Kiyomi would say a complete sentence to me without an insult. Unlike you there must be an insult in ever sentence,” Kuroune said, in a joking tone.
“More like every other five words or so words Kuroune,” you corrected. Both you and Kuroune start chuckling a bit and Yoko just glared at you both a bit.
“Hey Kiyomi-sama is that you?” someone said behind you. You turn around to see who said it. You then see that ookami youkai from earlier, the one that went inside the mansion first while you were still outside.
`I thought I knew him from somewhere, but where exactly was it?'
