Author's notes: This is a highly deranged fic, the product of a blindingly dull economics class. And, for once, it actually has a time line. Just before the boys are sent to rescue Yukina, with the assumption that Botan is, for the moment, still in the Reikai. Since Kurama seems to advise Koenma during the whole thing, especially regarding Hiei being kept in the dark, I assume he's staying there. It doesn't seem like a very nice commute to have to make every day. YYH belongs to Yoshihiro Togashi/Shueisha, Studio Pierrot, and so on.

Kurama wandered aimlessly through the great halls of Spirit World. He was staying in Koenma's company while they waited for Yusuke and Kuwabara to start the rescue mission for the ice apparition, Yukina, who was, unfortunately, the long lost sister to Hiei. Truly, it was an awkward situation. But for now, Kurama was left to his own devices, provided he did not steal any of the Reikai's precious treasures. Kurama smirked- surely they wouldn't miss a few candle sticks, at least. From somewhere off in the distance, he could hear someone squealing, or screaming, or maybe singing. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but the fox had far better luck, so Kurama set out to discover the source of the fascinating noise. Ten hallways, eight left turns, and two silver candle sticks later, he discovered a balcony, attached to a long hallway that ran along the far edge of the tower. Extending across the balcony and disappearing into the hall was a line of delightful, winged chibis, each with a small halo over their heads that looked vaguely like burnt-out light bulbs. At the head of the line was one blue-haired ferry girl, cheerfully swinging her oar, smacking a chibi off the balcony with a trailing squeal.

"Botan?" Another chibi was launched off the edge, as the others all shuffled forward sadly.

"Oh, hello Kurama!"

"Um... what... are you doing?"

"Fallen angels!" Kurama stared for a moment. With a disbelieving shake of his head, he walked away. "Bye-bye! What? You again?! You just got reinstated and you're out again? BAKA *whomp* NE!"
