The Reikai/Dhurgan Chronicles: Dragav
Chapter 1
“Boton, would you come here for a moment?” One of the elder ferry-girls', one by the name of Saiya, called from the hallway.
“Coming Saiya-sama!” A blue haired girl replied missing a grab for an apple from a basket, which an ogre was carrying as she walked over. “You wanted to see me Saiya-sama?” Boton tilted her head to the side as she twirled her hair with her finger, trying to make it a bit curly like the elder's navy blue hair.
“Yes, Boton. As you know, Koenma-sama is going to have a Ball next Friday.” Saiya stated as she smiled at the 12-year-old's antics, and that the girl was wearing an almost identical pink kimono as she was.
“The Ball where the Lords of Dhurga will be coming?” Boton asked still staring at the curls of Saiya-sama's hair.
“Yes, that one.” Saiya replied.
“What does that one have to do with me. I already know to keep away from the Main Hall, and we've already started on the decorations.” Boton stated implying her friends Keiko and Yukina when she said `we've'.
“Well…this time, it is going to be a different. The Corsair Lord, Shiv Arnav and his wife Durga are going to bring their son.” As she said this, a glint appeared for a spilt second in Saiya-sama's bright blue eyes.
At the word son, Boton's head snapped to look Saiya in the face.
“Son?! I didn't know they had a son!” She stuttered out shocked.
“You didn't? Why, he's older then you, about a few month's or so. How could you not.” Saiya asked faking surprise as her smile became wider.
“He is!” Boton asked with excitement.
“Yes, but enough about him. Koenma knows he'll be bored at the Ball, like every other 12-year-old boy,” At this, she rolled her eyes as did Boton. “So…he wants you to entertain him. Show him around the palace, where you're allowed to go.” She stared at Boton with that knowing look.
“When have I not?” Boton asked innocently.
“Right…anyway, will you do this?” Saiya asked already knowing the answer.
Anyone would know the answer with one glance at the small girl's eyes.
“Or course, I will!” Boton exclaimed. “It'll give me something to do anyway.” She said as she turned to leave.
“Oh, and Boton. Don't wear anything to formal. Something nice, but nothing formal. The guy you're going to be showing around is a pirate after all.” Saiya instructed.
“Anything you say, Saiya-sama.” Boton cried trying to contain a giggle.
“His name's Hiei, just to let you know!” Saiya shouted after the now running girl.
“Hiei! Got it!” Boton replied as she turned a corner.
“This is gonna be a night to remember.” Saiya muttered as she walked off in the exact opposite direction from a green ogre, which was looking around frantically.
She turned the corner right when she heard, “Saiya-sama! You have more souls to pick up!” At that she summoned her oar and took off, every intention to get away from the ogre, which eventually lost her.
“Saiya-sama…You are an adult, you should not be acting childish.” The ogre muttered to himself as he walked away, with Saiya hovering unnoticeably above him, sticking her tongue out.
“What an idiot.” Saiya muttered as she flew out the window towards the River Styx.
… … … …
“Hiei Mokushi Arnav!” A voice muttered from behind the small boy who was leaning for the railing of a ship, which was now docked at the eastern port on the island, where the Arnav Palace was built.
The boy immediately tensed up and turned around, scared of who he would see. “Huh-Hi, Asakura.” He stuttered trying to hide something behind his back.
“What are y' hiding?” Asakura asked staring at the boy through fierce navy blue, narrowed eyes.
“Nothin'.” The boy replied easily hands in his pockets.
Asakura blew some of his unruly black hair from his eyes and glared at Hiei, daring him to come clean, but the boy remained unaffected.
“If I find out you are lying, you will be punished.”
“Hn.” The boy muttered rolling his eyes as he ran a hand through his black hair, which hung down to his shoulders, unevenly.
“Anyway, I didn' come here to see what you were stealing this time,” Hiei grinned. “But to tell ya somethin'.”
“And that'd be?” Hiei asked glaring, challenging the elder to finish the sentence.
The tone in Asakura's voice suggested that this was something he was gonna get pleasure from, and when Asakura was happy, Hiei was sure not to be.
“As y' know, we've been `vited to a Ball in Reikai, three days from now.” Asakura started.
“Yeah, so? What's that have t' do with me? I just have to stay here and protect the palace and the ships, and create any jewelry any of the women want. …Hate that job.”
“Well…this time, it's gonna be wee bit different.” Asakura grinned.
“How so?”
“You're coming along.”
“What!” The boy shouted in alarm. “No way, no how am I gonna go to some stinkin' ball with some stinkin' snobby Spirits and Kanan Dhurgs!”
“Well, I'm sorry, you have to. We've already promised Koenma to bring you and they've already set up a ferry-girl as your guide so you won't get bored outta ya silly lil' mind.”
“And I wasn' inform…wait a secon'…did you say, ferry-girl?” Hiei asked curiously.
“Yeah, think they said she'd be y' age or younger. Somewhere `round in there.” Asakura answered vaguely waving the question away.
“Oh, really.” Hiei murmured to himself. “This might not be so bad after all.” He looked up at Asakura and asked. “Are Yus'ke and K'rama coming?”
“Yes, Yus'ke of Light Kingdom, and K'rama of Earth Kingdom are coming.” Asakura sighed. “Unfortunately.”
“Perfect. I'll go.” Hiei replied rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
“Good, I'll `form y' parents you're goin'.” Asakura said turning on his heel. Before he walked away he said one more thing, “You're guide's name is Boton. And don't wear something as raggedy as that. Wear something nice.”
“What's wrong with the way I dress.” Hiei muttered to himself looking down upon his clothes.
A blue sleeve-ripped shirt, which rips here and there, and baggy crimson pants, which were a bit too long for him.
Hiei laughed nervously, “Maybe I should pick something else.” And with that he turned on his heel and started to walk off the ship, to the palace with a smirk on his lips. “This `Boton' won' know what hit her.”
Asakura, who had not really left, shook his head in disapproval at Hiei before sighing. “It'll be a night t' remember.” He then really walked off the ship, turning in the exact opposite direction of the sounds of faint bombs and insane laughing.
To be continued…
Do not expect this story to be updated quickly, like in a few days or something. It might take at least a week or two but I'll get the chapters up as fast as I can. And if there are ANY Hiei and Boton stories on this site, can someone please show them to me.
