Disclaimer: Now I'm sure I told you this last time. Alright, well I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho. There, happy?
Dreaming of You

I stand atop the roof of the building, watching you as you greet your family with warmth a love I wish you and I could show each other.

I sigh in my daydreaming and watch you enjoy the daily human activities that make you different from other youkai who don't even care for a television set.

I sit now and wait.... Some time later I see your friend come in the dark and into the tall tree you nurtured in your yard.

You've already gotten dressed for your sleep and you let him in. It appears he has something important to tell you, for you look surprised to see him so late.

You look so adorable when you're surprised.

I hear him say things to you in a hurried hushed voice, I can't recognize the words said due to this. You nod and Hiei leaves, hurrying off to some other place he is needed.

You sit on your bed and think for a long time. Soon it is near midnight and I watch you lay down slowly an drift to a peaceful sleep. You haven't even turned off your light.

I hop from the roof to the tree that Hiei was in quickly, my youkai strength and sped giving me my leverage and balance.

I slip through in the window that you opened for your friend and never closed. Sometimes you act so human. You must have gotten used to the routine you displayed for your family a bit too much.

Slowly, I sidle over to the light switch and turn it off, allowing you to sleep more comfortably.

You murmur in your sleep and I sit on the floor, close to your head. I lay mine next to your porcelain face and smile, so glad and ecstatic I can be this close to you.

But now I'm sad, because you don't know I'm here. I close my eyes and prepare for my next step. Getting you to know me.
------

A young rosy haired man walked through mist, darkness surrounding the boundaries of it. He couldn't tell what was beyond that, everything was too dark.

He looked everywhere, walking cautiously, prepared to fight should anything come at him.

Then a soft voice came, it beckoned him to come. "Here Kurama,... please come to me." it said, it's voice sad and wavering, ethereal and sexless. It sounded so dreamlike, like something out of a fantasy.

"Who are you?" he asked. His voice was steady and emotionless. He might like the voice and it might sound friendly, but that didn't mean it wasn't dangerous.

"Please Kurama, I... want to tell you... but first you must know me... more than I know myself."

Kurama frowned. "How can I do that?"

"I... can come to you... every night and we can talk."

Kurama raised an elegant brow suspiciously. "Talk, that's it? What would we talk about?"

The dreamy voice sighed. It was like a heaven breath that misted over him and gave off the delicious scent of lavender. Delicious? It was so strong it almost intoxicated him.

"Things that have happened to you... that day...You may ask me questions... I will answer what I can... anything you wish to."

That was rather vague, but Kurama felt it would work, but he still wanted to know who this person was.

"When can I see you, your physical body and features?" he asked.

The voice sighed again and he smelt the lavender once more. "You will see me, when I can reveal myself to you without your fear of me." it answered, no pauses this time.

Kurama bowed his head in shame. It was true, he feared the heavenly voice because he could not see it.

"Do not... be afraid of... what you cannot see." the voice said comfortingly.

"I grew up with humans, and I have many of their instincts. I'm relearning to be youkai again, but my family knows nothing of them." he answered truthfully. It was like he couldn't lie around this voice, this being.

"You will learn.... well and soon. Your prideful... little fire... youkai friend, he helps you."

"You know about Hiei?" He was truly shocked. This person knew so much about him and they had only just met.

The voice chuckled, like a tinkling little bell of laughter. It was a happy chord that played around him and uplifted his very spirit.

"Oh, I know much... of you... But you will... learn much of me... in time."

The voice sounded weary, but so happy. It was an odd combination, but he knew it.

"What name can I call you by?"

"You... my call me... Lirit." it answered in a whimsical sigh.

Kurama gasped unconsciously at the name. It sounded like a rare flower's name, or that of an excotic dancer. Then he had a sudden thought, it was very unwelcome at that. "Can I tell my friends of you?"

The voice boomed out. "NO!" But then it grew quiet as it saw Kurama flinch away.

"Your friends... they are too suspicious. Hiei is over-protective... of you. Yusuke, he is...always looking for battles... and thinks of you kindly. Kuwabara... well he... is just going to follow Yusuke because he thinks of you kindly... as well."

The voice sighed again, bringing upon the intoxicating smell once more. "In time perhaps,... but now I think not. It is near dawn, the clouds grow pink...with the kiss of the sun... when you wish to speak with me... I will hear my name from you and answer."

Then it was gone and Kurama's emerald eyes were open.
