Yusuke and Hiei had come to Genkai's temple for a visit. Well Hiei was there mainly to visit Yukina and Yusuke came because Hiei was there and he wanted a fight. And Hiei was more than happy to agree. So off they went.

 

Which brings us here my dear readers in the dojo where Genkai, Yukina, and Botan sat watching them fight sipping tea. The speed of even the punches they threw blew a breeze to the three girls watching. The cool air on her made Botan gasp which gained Hiei attention thinking it was Yukina and she was hurt.

 

Yusuke seeing that Hiei was distracted was about to give him one hell of a right hook to the demon's chin but Hiei saw it coming and had enough time to move so that only his chest took the blow. A sick crack filled the room when the punch landed Hiei having underestimating the punch got his collar bone broke. But nobody was paying attention to that. No more like the sword flying right at the girls.

 

Botan saw the blade but was to afraid to move Genkai had grabbed Yukina and got her to the side, but couldn't reach Botan in time seeing as she was sitting almost at the door. Shocked at first Botan did nothing when the sword went through her thigh. The blood , her blood was growing in a large puddle below her. Then the pain hit her fully and she screamed.

 

Hiei let out the breathe he held which came out as a sigh. He was ok with it being Botan and just a leg woung, the thought of how close it was to his sister is what made him hold his breathe. He stood back as everyone jumped to the reaper's aid. When she was okay and her leg was healed. Yusuke was about to apologize to her only to be interrupted by Hiei.

 

“You shouldn't apologize, if she wasn't so weak she could have dodge the blade like Genkai”, he sneered.

 

In truth though he didn't mean a word of what he said. Hiei was just upset that it was his blade that had hit his comrade and that more or less it was his `sorry Botan ..' however rude it might have been.

 

Yusuke just glared at the fire demon but didn't say any thing in Botan defense nor did anyone else in the room they hoped the comment would just slide.

 

Botan couldn't keep back the feeling's of betrayed and rage that came from those words. Something in her snapped. She was sick of holding everyone back. She was sick of letting other people fight her battles. She felt a power that swelled within her.Standing she looked the demon in the eye with fire in her eyes.

 

“No…not anymore..”, was all she said before walking out the door and the temple.
