I know.... I know! I took so long to update.... *looks fearfully at people with torches and pitch forks and glares* I'm sorry...*small pathetic whiney voice* T_T

Than, your mind suddenly clicked...

If Hiei couldn't really mate with you, than.... you would never have children....

Did this also mean that you would never really be able to be with Hiei?

Never a family? No children? No… pups? (AN: I know what you're thinking… pups!? o.O, Demon Slayer kids are pups… they're based on wolves in actual fact… hunters, with packs they are loyal to… I don't know why…. It just seemed to work…)

You felt Hiei's soft hand stroke through your hair, trying to calm you, but only tears, your black tears came out, and dripped onto Hiei's torso, and you felt his warm, pearl like tears hit your head.

He understood too...

He was saddened… but you knew there had to be a way… but how?

Than it hit you… how had the gem have been hidden on you for so many years? Maybe you could hide it again!

No… that wouldn't help… it would only revert you… no… there has to be another way…

"Cevena… she… she told me…"

"Cevena?"

"Many…many years ago… I… I bought a Shadow mistress, after killing a Demon Slayer who wished to use her for their ritual… her name was Cevena… she… she was very close to me… she told me, that the only way we could be together, in that sort of way… and start a family… was… allowing her to do a trial on the night of the full moon… but she didn't survive it…" he whispered, his hand clutched at your shoulder…so... Cevena was the name of the Shadow Mistress inside you...

"You have to allow the darkness to swallow you, on that night… and survive to be able to mate…" your eyes widened, life or death… but more chance of death completely… what to do… "…But… I will not allow you to waste your life just to do this…" he whispered, and kissed over your shoulder, over the mark… you stared off into space, wondering what to do…

"But… even if I don't do it… we'll both slowly wear away with want for what can't be had…" you scowled…

"You don't have long to decide… the full moon is up now…"

They will come for you on the full moon…

"I… I have to…" you whispered, and than… you heard them… the resounding scream… that was like all the screams that had ever been heard… it was like nothing you had ever heard in your life, a million voices screaming as one!

It was echoing through your head over and over, it was them…

But when you saw them,was when you saw the real thing that made your heart fear… it was… the darkness itself…

You kissed Hiei passionately, knowing it may be for the last time, and walked towards the creatures, creatures so fearsome and horrible that they can not be described....

Hiei was to stunned to do anything, all he could do, was stare… stare in fear, and wonder at the creatures…

As tendrils went from them, out to you and took hold of you, wrapping around you, and pulling you to them… but they did not devouring you… you just felt the darkness envelope you, in warmth and pain, mixed with pleasure…

Than… you felt nothing, but the swirl of everything, and sickness fell upon you… you wanted to be sick, so badly… and than, your senses returned, and you opened your eyes and saw a man…

He was in chains at the top of a huge flight of stairs, of white stone, the only real strong light was coming down right onto the chained man… there were chains everywhere… only just visible in the shadows that seemed to consume everything, it was obvious that you had to reach that chained man...

You slowly walked up the stairs to him… who was he?

You took a closer look, and saw, he had angel wings… and pure white hair… as you got closer, you wanted to stop… there was something wrong… but something told you to go on… and you trusted that feeling… slowly you advanced, and got to the top… you took a cautious step forwards… and the man looked up, and you stepped back… his eyes… they were…

"Hollow?" he smiled, showing his fangs…

"What ARE you!?" you gasped and felt chains wrap around you…

"I am the one who will free the darkness, and I shall rule it supreme, and you shall be my queen, and the key to the darkness…" He smiled…

"Fool… I have killed you once, Plato, and I shall do it again!" Yuniku's spirit took control, but you were wrenched back into control,

"Silence Yuniku! This is of Cevena's concern, not yours!" he growled, and turned from you, and walked away from you, the chains forced you to follow him, than, you saw an alter… and all the rest of the room was darkness… nothing but darkness… you felt it… a gateway into the true darkness….

Plato.. wasn't that demon a spirit, one of the two that assaulted you the first time? He thought he could control the darkness… what a fool… the chains forced you to walk to the table, on it, there were strange inscriptions… and something in your mind took over, as you heard Plato say…

"The rift has need of a guardian from the other side, Sister Cevena will bring forth the guardian once more, and become the key to his power… Sister Cevena, begin…"

"<To the darkness I call, chosen one of true evil come forth from the darkness and know my will… the shadows that bind you within the gateway, release! I beseech you come forth, and walk upon ground once more, flesh for flesh, blood for blood…>" it was as if you were in a trance… you put your hands upon the table, and somehow, your black blood ran into the carved inscriptions, all of them, the black blood gave off the deepest of black light, and the gem on your chest glowed, and you felt like you were freezing, intolerable cold ran through your body… it was so incredible… intense… it hurt… another demon soul forced its form upon your frail ningen body… and you were transforming… and fusing with the darkness… fusing into a pact that could not be broken… unless you could find a counter… but it was too late now… the cold stopped, and you knew what you were… you were Cevena… you were a shadow Mistress… and you saw… a gate… in the shadows, made of pure shadows, pure darkness, the purple fused like veins in the darkness… it swirled… that was the pure darkness that inhabited every soul… every heart… every mind…

"Where is the Guardian! Why hasn't any power come to me yet!?" Plato growled, the fool… no one can control this fully, not even a Shadow Mistress… nor the Guardian… than you saw a shadowy figure slowly come forth from the portal… darkness was in his wake… you stepped back, and he vanished, and he teleported, closer to you, and vanished again… you felt frightened… Plato didn't notice the figure… you looked to the gate, than hear a gasp of intense pain…

"No one can control darkness… the power is not for you… but you get the reward of serving me in the darkness…" You heard a voice say…

It's… him… no… not now… not when I was almost free…

You heard a voice come over from the portal.

"I've stopped you once more, Marcus… Now, I shall rule! And the world will be thrown into eternal DARKNESS!!" you looked to the owner of the voice, he had long white hair, but it was… different…it seemed to glow with an evil energy, no, his Aura was a huge amount of positive energy… but he controlled darkness?

He was the guardian?

His eyes were deep blue, and his clothes were unlike that of which you had ever seen … to difficult to use any words to explain, only that there were patterns of such intricacy upon the strange fabric, they were like when your blood had glowed before… deep and defined, he had white angel wings… his aura was of the light… but he wanted darkness?... you were stunned… it was… him… You felt the urge to run, run into the portal, away from this person… but you knew the chain around you, would not give way easily…

"Ah…Cevena… no… there is someone else within there… Yuniku… and… a ningen? Three of one flesh?... this is interesting indeed…"

"Wh…who are you?" he smirked, and began to laugh… his laughter rang through the dark room, resounding off the walls…

"Foolish mortal… you have no idea do you? You still do not understand… you have not opened your heart to the shadows… and now, the shadows call for another to be bound in my place…" his eyes glittered, and he picked you up, bridal style, and started to walk to wards the portal. You struggled to get out of his grip, but to no avail, you were too weak… he was so much stronger than you… but… but it couldn't end this way!

You had worked so hard with that training, worked so hard… for nothing? NO! You felt power pulse through your veins, the true darkness that you had evaded… it called you… it called you to open up… to let it in… you knew that it was your only option… your last hope… you took that chance… and opened up to the darkness… embracing it into your being… at first… there was no feeling… but than… it started to pulse… the darkness… everything that was dark around you pulsed with power… and the words began…

"<From the grave… from the sky… I call upon the last hope…. The true warrior… within the light the deepest darkness… within the darkness brightest light… awaken, and come forth… Flesh for flesh blood for blood… The shadows that bind me, I bid thee release! The shadows that bind, release forever more!>" blood flowed onto the floor from you, and the man holding you stopped… and laughed,

"The warrior cannot come forth, he is bound to deep, no mere mix can free the shadows that bind a human chosen mistress so they can release the deepest of bindings!" so… this was it…. You had wasted your life… for nothing? It had all been for nothing in the end… Not one single thing had been achieved… now… you were beyond hope… beyond Hiei… beyond help… than…. there was a laugh…. Not like the man who held you when he laughed, but something else entirely…

I am unbound… I am now free once more…

You looked to the portal, and saw a man come out of them… he had black hair, and black eyes, and he gave off a dark aura… it showed… it seemed to drip off of him… This was the one who had plagued you?

He had only wished for release from his prison? He wore black… nothing fancy… something told that this man was trustworthy…

"Marcus…"

Alan… shall we once more begin our battle for the Earth? Sister Cevena will be our Judge for eternity…

"No… Marcus, she must go back into the darkness… as she said in her pact, flesh for flesh… blood for blood… meaning she knew she was going back to where she belongs… the darkness that created her…"

I cannot allow that…She is the one who freed me…

"Than that means… they are also free…" Alan's eyes widened, and so did Marcus', and you heard a loud thud… and looked to the portal… a horde of piercing eyes looked out,

The Binders…
Suddenly, you heard footsteps, a huge group it seemed… form behind, you turned your head, and you were greeted by the sight of an army… led by the Spirit Detectives…

With Koenma…

"No…. we are too late… they have been freed…" Koenma growled, and shook with anger… "Botan… notify King Enma, notify ever able Demon, notify EVERYONE! They must be stopped…" Botan nodded, shivering in fear… and ran out of the office… "If we can't stop the Binders… the worlds will be destroyed in pure darkness… now… everyone must come together… demons…humans… this is the time of the second shadow.... just as she predicted... Unless… she can work out in time, what Cevena knew…"

Back to normal POV

"___!" Hiei ran to you, Alan put you down, and flew up, everyone looked to the red eyes, and slowly… you saw that the whole portal was glowing red…the whole portal was filled with… things… and than, the darkness slowly spread from the portal, slowly out… you stepped back… the army of demons looked at the darkness in horror… why didn't it scare you?

You heard a hiss coming from the darkness… and the things started to step out… they were shapeless… just darkness... all you could see was their eyes… there was a huge army of them, and they moved slowly at first, getting used to the new dimension… and you ran from them, Hiei and Marcus followed.

"What are they?" you asked,

You will know when you see them fight…

The things started to change… arms came out of their shapeless form, and legs, the hair, and black wings… and then the tail… they screamed… like a whole army each, pain and anguish seemed to throb off of them… they were… what?

Suddenly, the advance of the army of things stopped… and the demon army waited, anticipating the attack… than… you saw why they had stopped… the table… the whole army of the things was looking in fear at the table… one of the things went to it, and put its hands on the table… and changed… you heard a piercing shriek from above… and looked up… Alan was vanishing, and you saw Plato's body was too… the thing transformed… becoming white… light began to emanate off the thing, and blinded you, so you had to look away… than, the light slowly faded, and you heard heavy breathing, you opened your eyes… and saw a sight that struck fear… and wonder upon you… the thing… was now like Plato and Alan mixed with the darkness… (AN: Think Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts, and add demon wings, and put streaks of shadow energy through his hair, and change his clothes, so he is dressed in armour made of the shadows… like really dark, purple veined shadows…)

"Finally! The darkness is under my command!" the voice of this new creation sounded like many entwined into one, it was like the whole army was speaking with him (AN: Think Borg) their voices raspy, everyone stepped back, "All will bow down before me, and I, Plato, shall rule supreme!" he laughed manically… and the army ran forwards at the army of demons, they cut down the demons one by one, but the spirit detectives were surviving the assault…

"Damn it… Nothing works against these things!" Yusuke growled as his spirit gun had directly hit on of the things, but not even made a scratch…

"Not even my sword cuts them!" Hiei growled… but… where was Maku… Kuwabara was there, just not able to fix his minuet mind on anything else, because if he did… he would be slaughtered…

You frowned, and wondered where she was… you decided to help… you brought forth your spirit sword, and started to attack, the beast screamed in agony when your blade touched them… why?

Why didn't any other weapons effects them?

You knew that this was now officially hopeless… with only you able to hurt these creatures… and there being a seemingly endless number of them… no one stood a chance… Than… you saw the creatures as they attacked, they jumped upon their pray, and tendrils came out of the creatures and bound the victim, and than, the creature would pull the victim to them, and the victim became part of the creature, fuelling its strength… they were invincible… tears fell from your eyes… as you fought… there was no future to this… everything was hopeless unless someone could close the portal… but there was no way past them… and where was Maku when you needed her?

"____, try and keep attacking, until you get to Plato, he is the leader, and if he dies, than maybe the others will too…" Hiei said through gritted teeth, he was doing his best to keep the creatures from getting him, evading their every move, you sighed, as he barely dodged an attack… each time, the attacks became more accurate than before… soon, he would be hit… this realization stunned you, and without you noticing… one of the creatures attacked, "____!" Hiei yelled, you turned, and saw the tendrils come out at you, and take hold of you. You screamed, loud and clear, when the tendrils snapped, with a flash of black…

"MAKU!!!" Kurama yelled, and embraced her, she smiled.

"You guys started without me…" she sighed, and laughed, "Koenma's sending reinforcements to stop these things from getting to Ningenkai…but I think they already have broken through the first gate…"

"We should get out of here, the army has been destroyed!" you yelled, the others nodded, still fighting, and ran… Marco was crying…

I have failed… I am meant to prevent this from happening…like I have so many times before… but now... they are stronger… but how?

You shrugged, and kept on running, the things followed you, shrieking… everything had been turned into a dark realm, the walls were inlaid with purple, like veins… but there was one thing that stood out… a door… with markings on it like the table… you stopped at it, but everyone just kept on running… you put your hands out and onto the door…

"<By the power that now holds this realm, I bid thee release… release your power and open to me…>" blood of your mingled over the inscriptions and glowed… and the door opened, giving off a blinding light, your shielded your eyes, and stepped through…

Ruins were all around you… carvings everywhere… and broken columns… you were standing on the edge of a platform, it was circular, and it seemed you were outside…the platform was high above the ground, it looked dull… and dank… in the middle of the platform, was a circle… you looked up, and saw dark purple and black clouds gathered around the building you had exited… the building was… now made of darkness… but the platform was untouched… you walked to the circle… and stood in the middle… you raised your hands to the sky… you knew that this was the way… some how this would stop the shadows from taking over… you heard someone… and turned, to see the group… you needed them, this ritual needed a group…

"They've breeched the ways between worlds… Reikai, Ningenkai and Makai, are all at their mercy…" Maku informed you… they all sighed, and looked around…

"Where are we?" Hiei whispered…

"My home… Kiakai (AN: pronounced Key-a-kai)… the realm of the darkness… the portal of despair… the realm of the shadow guardians… and of Shadow masters and mistresses… the realm of Cevena Mai (AN: pronounced may) Devina Alminte Dovan… the Shadow Mistress that inhabits my body… I know… how we can save all the worlds… all you guys have to do, is stand in-between the pillars…" everyone nodded, but looked strangely at you…. You didn't care, you knew this was right… everyone was in their positions…

Now was the beginning…

"<By the power of Kiakai… by the power of binding… the shadows I call… banishers I call… light come forth and dispel the darkness banish it away from this place… banish it from all the worlds… goddesses of Darkness and light hear my plea! Save our souls and repair the bindings! I call! I, Shadow Mistress call upon the Shadows that bind to banish the >"everyone gasped as a bright light emanated from your body, your blood went through the intricate carving of the platform, and dripped down the sides… you were enveloped in a pilar of light… and it felt like your heart was being ripped out of you… you could not complete the ritual… but you heard…

"<Banish the Binders from theses worlds forever more!>" someone cried, and you were released, and you heard her gasp… you looked… and saw it… and didn't believe it to be possible… it just… just couldn't be...

Maku?

Yes.............. I am evil......... BWAHAHAHAHAHaHAHAHAHAHAHaHH!
