A New Life
Don't own Yu Yu Hakusho.

You're gonna get really confused in this chaper. Please, try to keep up.

"Krista? Krista! Wake up!" I heard a loud whisper.
I groaned in annoyance and looked up into those brown and red eyes. "What now?" My head lifted slowly from the desk.
"You were sleeping again. Sensei hasn't noticed yet." she answered, deadpan.
"For God's sake, Serena, I don't care."
"I do."
"You two, in the back! I won't have you disrupting my class! Out!" the teacher yelled. Serena smirked and stood up. I followed, but she reached the door before I was out of my seat.
"And what's my name?" she asked, smirk still present.
"Trouble!" everyone yelled.
"OUT!" Oh, teach was pissed. Everyone called Serena trouble because of how many times she was in trouble.
"And it's that easy to get out of an American class."
"Oh, and you think you're so superior?" I mocked.
She stuffed her hands into her pockets with a, "Hn." She'd only been here for two months, but she was already well known. She made our way out of the school without any trouble. "Let's go blading."
"Good plan!" Serena was....different, and I couldn't put my finger on it.

Serena POV

Was this really possible? Could someone really have this much coordination? I continued to watch Krista spin on her blades until I was dizzy from watching. Not being outdone so easily, I began my set of tricks.
"Impressive." she commended.
"Most impressive." I added. We both laughed and continued our day off of school.

~~~~~~~~~
"We have to help them!" Natsu yelled.
"I forbid you two to enter the Ningenkai." Koenma began. "They are being hunted."
"Hunted by whom? Explain!" Aki ordered.
"I'm not sure, but those demons are taking advantage of the situation."
"Where the hell are our sisters?"
"We haven't been able to find them."
~~~~~~~~

"Something wrong?" Serena asked.
"No, I'm fine. I've just got this weird feeling." Krista replied.
"About what?"
"It's nothing, really."
"You're a terrible liar."
"I just don't want to talk about it! Okay?! What's with the 3rd degree?!" She ran ahead, ignoring Serena.
"Don't give me that shit! You might not be the only one with something wrong!" Serena yelled, running up to her.
"But I didn't just ruin my own life! I ruined the lives of others! I crushed the hopes and dreams of someone who meant a lot to me! I never thought clearly! I just acted and didn't think! But I left him alone!" She turned her back and crossed her arms, begining to cry.
"Krista, what happened? I know we've only known each other for a little while, but I promise that you can trust me." Serena said softly.
"I-I can't. You'd never believe me."
She smiled. "Try me."
"Okay, but let's not talk here."

~~~~~~~~
Krista POV
I promised to meet Serena in the park at 5. I didn't feel like telling anyone, but like I said, Serena was different. I somehow knew that she would understand. I walked through the park entrance gate and spotted her in a tree.
"So, there you are." she said without adverting her eyes from the book she was reading.
"Yeah, I came."
"I didn't think you would."
There was a moment of akward silence before she spoke again.
"Are you going to speak?"
I nodded. "Come down here."
She obeyed and smirked. "So, tell me about this problem of yours."
~~~~~~~~
Unknown POV

I heard sirens and saw the police and ambulence vehicles pass me by. People were screaming and gathering around. Out of curiousity I joined them. Parents were covering their childrens eyes from the scene. I forced my way to the center of the crowd and gasped. Blood covered the white sheet that shielded the body as well as bandages and IV wires.
"Damn, I hate this part." one of the medical assistants grumbled. Everyone screamed as the park filled with darkness, lightling, and fire.
"What the hell?" I asked myself. The stretcher was tipped over, the van overturned, and the people were running away in panic. An evil laugh rang out through the area before a figure was revealed. I gasped and took a few steps back.
"Well, if it isn't the Sister of Winter."
"Who the hell are you?"
"Come with me." His hair was solid black, as were his clothes. His eyes were a glowing purple. "But of course, how rude of me not to introduce myself. Oh well, you truely have no use for my name. Although it has become quiet clear that I have no use for you sister. Instead, I have my sight set on something else. I won't have to deal with the Ningenkai anymore." And he disappeared with that.
"What the hell was he rambling on about?"
"Itai....My head is killing me...." I watched someone sit up behind the overturned stretcher.
"H-Haru?"

~~~~~~~~
"Haru!" Itai....matte, nani? "Haru!"
"Itai....huh?"
"Haru-chan!" I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my tiny human frame.
"Nani?"
"I don't have the slightest clue how I know, but I know it's you!"
"Oi! Itai! Don't hug me so hard!"
"Gomen ne." She loosened her grip but still held on.
"F-Fuyu?" I asked in almost horror.
"Hai...." That's when she burst into tears. "Gomen! I'm sorry!" I had never even heard from Natsu or Aki that Fuyu had ever cried, but here she was, sobbing on my shoulder! "Gomen ne!" she yelled so loudly that I began to reach my hands up to cover my ears when pain covered every inch of my body. "I know I can never fully make it up to you, but I can try." She backed off and stood. "Can you stand?"
"I don't trust you." I scowled deeply.
"Here, let me help you." She didn't listen to the fact that I wouldn't trust her, but that shocking pain that kept jolting through my body wasn't going to go away very quickly without any help. So, I took her hand and let her help me to my feet.
A few weeks passed after that.
~~~~~~~~

Fuyu and I finally got a flight from America back to Japan. We rented a hotel room for the night in Kyoto, but I needed to get out of these stuffy ningen places! So, I ran into the forest just outside of town. I knew there was a large lake somewhere around here....
"Ah ha!" I said in semi-triumph. There was that lake with the full moonlight shimmering, giving it a lunar glow. "Perfect, but I can think of one thing that would make it more perfect...." I sighed. "But that won't happen." I sighed more heavily this time. "Because my life has turned into a living hell. I can't even remember how this whole thing started." Tonight when I regained my true form, I would be able to summon a strong plant so me and Fuyu wouldn't have to sleep in shifts to watch each other's back. I removed my shoes and stepped onto the water. The first step I took started mt own slow-paced music. I began in a graceful manner, spinning on my toes. I swept my hand just above my head and filled the air with rose petals and their sweet scent. I could feel my features changing along with my clothing. I was now wearing a flowing, light blue dress that reached all the way to the water, wetting the hem. I grabbed the fabic at about my knees and swung it back and forth with my steps. The petals created a whirlwind around the lake. I didn't care if anyone was watching, because I was enjoying myself. I continued in this manner until the music came to a drawn-out halt. I smiled and closed my eyes. I summoned a soft plant that acted as a bed on the water and laid down. I breathed deaply and stared at the moon just before falling asleep.

This would be the last shread of happiness that I would feel.....

~~~~~~~~
I ran through the crowd of screaming fans to reach the limo with Fuyu in it. She stuck her head out the window.
"Baka! Hurry up!" she yelled.
"Coming!" I dodged a few hands reaching for me with my guitar case in hand. The car door flew open and I jumped inside.
"My sisters! Ya were great t'night!" Our manager reached over and gave me a slap on the back. "I say we do a show in Kyoto, then another in Tokyo. Then--are you ready for this?"
Me and Fuyu, both still in human form, nodded.
"We'll go to New York City in America! Can you see that?! It'll be your biggest show yet!"
"Yes, Eric. Now please, shut it." I replied.
That was Eric, our manager. I sighed and remembered how this one started.
~~~~~~~~

I played a few notes on my guitar while Fuyu sang along. She had a strong voice that echoed over the bass while I kept playing faster and faster. I was playing a song we heard on the radio earlier. It was called "Sinner". We finished and heard clapping from behind.
"Hey, that was pretty good!" We both looked to the man who was a little over 5 and a half feet tall with brown hair and almost black eyes. "You wanna come down to my studio?"
~

Well, we did and played a few songs we wrote. He seemed to like it. So, here we were, three months later, one of the growing musical acts in Japan. He thought it was great that we could speak so many languages.
~

"Wait, how many do you speak?" he asked, still not believing us.
"Well," Fuyu began. "Japanese, Chinese, English, German, Spanish, French, Potugese, Hindi...."
"Okay! Okay! Sheesh. Too much for me."
~

We weren't sure whether to accept the deal to make our own album or not.
"If we're going to be human let's at least live like rich ones." Fuyu said just before accepting.

~~~~~~~~
I fell face-first onto the hotel bed as soon as we got there. I had the room all to myself, while Fuyu had the one next to me. This was my new life. I wasn't a sister of seasons anymore. I would be probably hundreds of years from now after my human form was gone. Well, tonight was the full moon again. I grabbed my guitar and jumped out the window in the blink of and eye.
~~~~~~~~

"Do you hear something?"
"Yeah. What is it?"
"I don't see anything."
The people on the streets kept looking for the source of the music in the darkness.

Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run but it stays right by my side
So tear me open pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me....until it sleeps
Just like the curse just like the stray
You feed it once and now it stays
Now it stays
So tear me open but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me until I'm clean
It grips you so hold me....
It stains you so hold me...
It hates you so hold me....
It holds you so hold me....
Until it sleeps
So tell me why you've chosen me
Don't want your grip don't want your greed
Don't want it
I'll tear you open make you gone
No longer can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me....until it sleeps
It grips you so hold me....
It stains you so hold me...
It hates you so hold me....
It holds you, hold you, holds you....
Until it sleeps
So tear me open but beware
There's things inside with out a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me until I'm clean
I'll tear you open make you gone
No longer will you hurt anyone
And the hate still shakes me
So hold me until it sleeps.....

"There! On the bridge!"
Someone must have called the police, because they were there, yelling at me to get down.
"Don't jump! You don't have to do this!"
But I did. They all gasped and waited for me to hit the water. I did, but I could walk on the surface. I ran down the river, leaving a trail of rose petals in my wake. I didn't see the patrol boat that had been waiting, and they were now chasing me. I giggled like a child and held onto my guitar.
"Stop right there!"
"Care if I join you?" I turned my head to Fuyu who was running on a path of ice she made for herself.
"Not at all."
"Let's get the hell out of here."
"Yeah. Baka ningens."
"Matte. Who's that?"

~~~~~~~~
"Shuichi! You should come see this!" Shoiri yelled to her son.
Kurama walked down the stairs to see what his mother called him for. "Yes?"
"Look at this!" She pointed to the television screen. The news was on.
"And this is no joke." The female reporter said. "Nothing has been altered and no equipment is malfuctioning. Everything you are seeing is real." She stepped to the side to give a clear view of the river and the two sisters pinned against two dark figures.
~~~~~~~~

"K'so...." Haru cursed.
"Are you having trouble? Not as strong as before, ne?" the demon mocked, showing his fangs. "Let's go!" He charged, flying into the air while the news repoters watched. "Try this on!" He put his hands together, palm over palm and focused.
"Not with me. Rose Whip!"
"Oh, a whip, is it? Fine." He through his hands forward, forming his own. The two clashed with the same sound as metal against metal.

~~~~~~~~
"Shi ne!"
"Right....Blades of Winter!"
The demon moved just in time to miss the blades of ice that shot up from the river. Some even moved closer to the shoreline.
"Everyone! Move back now!" an officer yelled to the onlookers on shore. The demon hissed at the Winter Sister before him. He bared his long fangs at Fuyu. "Holy shit....it's a vampire." She smirked. "All the easier to kill." She held out her hand and formed a cross of ice, throwing at the demon.
"No! Cursed!" It stuck to his forehead, but he ripped it off, casting it into the water. The burned flesh where the cross had left its mark was still present. "M-M-Master will get you for this!!" And he disappeared with that.
"Gods I hate vampires."
Haru stepped up behind her. "We have a huge problem on our hands."
