The Sisters of Seasons
I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho.
"Come on, Kuwabara! We're gonna be late!"
"I'm trying, Urameshi!" Kuwabara suddenly froze in his tracks. Yusuke stopped running and turned to his friend.
"What now?"
"Don't you feel that?!"
"Feel wha....? Whoa!" Ysuke and Kuwabara both wrapped their arms around themselves to keep warm. "That can't be right! It's the middle of July!" A few snowflakes fell, and soon, the ground was covered. It stopped as quickly as it came. Everything was warm and it was back to normal. "Hello. That was weird."
"Yusuke!" the farmiliar fairygirl called.
"Yeah?"
"We've got a big problem!"
"No kidding!"

Koenma gave Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, and Hiei each a glance before speaking. "We've got big trouble."
"What do we have to kill this time?" Yusuke asked.
"No one! You can't kill any of them!"
"Then what?"
"There are four of them, the Sisters of Seasons. They control what season it is. There are four, Haru of Spring, Natsu of Summer, Fuyu of Winter, and Aki of Autumn. (A/N: Haru means spring, Natsu means summer, Fuyu means winter, and Aki means autumn in Japanese.) Haru and Natsu are in an alliance, as are Fuyu and Aki. Fuyu and Aki are trying to take over the territory of the other two."
"I don't see the problem."
"If there is no warmth of summer, nothing can grow! There will be no life in the cold! The human race will die out in an ice age!"
"Point taken."
"Ogre, show the pictures."
"Yes, Koenma-sama." The first picture came up. It was a girl with bright red hair and deep brown eyes.
"This is Natsu. She controls the season of summer. Like summer, her personality his warm. She's very kind but an excelent fighter." The picture flashed again. The next girl had brown hair with blonde highlights and bright green eyes that were like Kurama's. "This is Haru of spring. Like spring, she is unpredictable. She can be cruel and cold on rare occasions. Mostly, she is calm and quiet."
"Koenma-sama! Koenma-sama!" Another ogre ran into the office. "We've got trouble in the Ningenkai!"
"Bring up the picture." Everyone turned to the screen. One side of the street was normal, but the sidewalk on the other side was burried under four feet of snow. "Fix it NOW! You'll have to go now, or the Ningenkai is going to be destroyed!"

"What now?" Yusuke asked.
"I suggest that we split up. We should each be able to deal with one of them." Kurama offered.
"That works. Well, I'll take care of the summer problem."
"I'll take the fall girl." Kuwabara said.
"My advantage should be in spring." Kurama added. "That leaves Hiei with Fuyu."
"Hn." was Hiei's only response. With that, they took off at the four-way intersection.

"Mistress Haru, there is a man resembling Mistress Natsu coming our way."
"Very well, I shall take care of him."

Kurama wasn't very far off. He could see the castle clearly. In the area around the tower, everything seemed to be frozen in a budding stage. Flowers were not in full bloom, and tree leaves were not yet green. He looked forward and caught sight of Haru. Her brown hair was tied back tightly, and she was in a blue fighting outfit. (A/N: This looks like Kurama's yellow chinese one.) It looked as though she was carrying a giant boomerang on her back.
"State your business!" she ordered.
"I am here to speak with you, Haru." Kurama answered calmly.
"You are trespassing. Leave now or I won't be responsible for what happens to you."
"But I must speak with you."
"You have been warned." She threw her weapon through the air. Kurama jumped up and out of its path, but it came swinging back. He narrowly missed being decapitated. Haru caught it easily and threw it again. This time, Kurama jumped, but Haru ignored her boomerang and went after him. Her boomerang sank into a tree trunk, insuring that it wouldn't come back. She hit him into the ground and held him down by his shoulders. "I want to know why you're here and who you're working for."
"Koenma. I'm trying to make sure that everything goes well between you four sisters. The Ningenkai is already suffering." She seemed to think for a moment before standing up and offering a hand down.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Kurama."
"Any others?"
"One for each of you." She pulled him to his feet.
"Then your friends of in danger. I don't worry about how Natsu will react. She will probably do what I have done. I'm very concerned about those that entered the winter and fall territories. You may enter my tower if you wish."
"I would rather assist you."
"Very well then."

"Shi ne!" Fuyu shot another arrow. Hiei jumped to the side. She raised her bow with three arrows ready and fired. Hiei's feet had touched the ground only moments ago, not giving him time to dodge. He felt a seering pain in his chest and shoulder and everything went blank.
"Back off, Fuyu." Haru ordered.
"Me? You are on my territory. I should be telling you to back off."
"Leave him alone." She raised her weapon as a threat and planted her feet firmly in the snow and ice.
"Touchy, touchy. He's on my territory. He is mine. And why are you so concerned?" Haru watched Kurama move carefully toward the body hanging limply from the tree it had been pinned to. Fuyu fired and arrow quickly, but Haru held up her weapon to block. Haru sent it flying through the air only seconds later. Fuyu jumped out the the way and dodged the boomerang on its way back. She saw Kurama pull the black-clothed figure from the tree and run. She backed out of the fight and ran as well.

I know it sucks, but this is something I threw together one night because I had a dream. I write more soon. In the meantime, check out some of my other stories!
