Nari's weak form hit the floor of the angered demon's room harshly as he threw her downward for her defiant behavior. She refused to speak up on what went on in his room while he was out. Nari knew she was close to freedom and she dared not blow it now regardless of the abuse she had to endure. Her bruised forearms were what she used to drag herself across the floor steadily towards the door until pressure was placed on her back no thanks to Yoko Kurama's foot meeting with her mid-back.

Yoko Kurama rubbed his heel into Nari's backside harshly as he glared down at her with his golden, cold stare through his silver hair. “I am going to ask you one more time, who was in here?” His deep, threatening tone growled.

Nari's fingers clutched tightly as she bit her lower lip in attempts to try and not give the demon a satisfying cry of displeasure. “I—don't know!” She answered somewhat truthfully.

Reaching for the chain that was there on the floor close by, Yoko Kurama's hands gripped tightly onto it to force Nari's head back as he knelt down, pinning her body to the floor as he was literally sitting upon her back. His fangs dangerously close to her ear, he snapped at her as he was furious with her actions. “Pray all you want for freedom, you bitch,” Yoko Kurama hissed, “but those bastards will have to get through me to get to you.”

Hearing his words, Nari threatened to lower her head back down to the floor in disappointment. But Yoko Kurama wouldn't allow it as he pulled back on the chain once more to make her lift her head.

“I know all about what Koenma is doing to try and get everyone free,” Yoko Kurama announced to Nari still as he remained on her back. “That is why I put you in here since you are the main one they are looking for. How they know of you, I don't know but I am not taking the chance of them making off with you.”

Closing her eyes, Nari tried not to look at the heartless fox demon thief as she eventually was released and allowed to collapse upon the floor. She knew Yoko Kurama was no fool, but for once, she wished the clever demon would be left out of the loop of what was going on. Remaining there upon the ground even after the demon got off of her, she sighed internally not wishing to move as a frown was expressed there upon her face to show her anger dwelling inside. Just you wait…when that letter comes back to me, I'll get my revenge on you! Nari thought.

The slaves within the barn were soon all moved quickly into the mansion once again. Yoko Kurama was worried that the demons looming around and working under Koenma would cause problems and start picking off their slaves in the middle of the night. Each one was hauled through the horrible storm when they were supposed to be sleeping. Each person was wearily dragged to their masters' rooms and those who lost their masters thanks to Yomi were left behind to either die of starvation or the harsh weather conditions—whichever chose their soul first.

Nari remained in Yoko Kurama's bedroom, tied to his bedpost as she sat there upon the cold, hard floor with her thin arms resting on her weary legs. Hearing the door open once more made the exhausted woman look through her uneven hair at the entrance to the room to spy the fox demon for a moment as he shoved her mix-bred son into his bedroom. Seeing her son there at the door made her heart leap as she tried to get to her feet to hurry to him only able to go so far as the chain restricted her movements about the bedroom.

Yoko Kurama remained at the doorway as he pointed down at Okuro before shifting his attention to Nari. “Take your brat and keep him quiet! I have things to deal with. Either you sleep or don't. Whatever you do matters little to me. Just keep him quiet. If you move, I'll punish him for it!” He threatened before closing the door to leave the two alone.

Nari waited until the demon left the room as she opened her arms to her son. “Okuro, come here—come to mommy.”

Okuro's black ears twisted forward as he heard the words of his mother. He was relieved to see her again as he hurried towards her not enjoying the storm he had been stuck out within. His arms embracing her neck, he pinned his ears back against his head when another thunder roll passed through the area quite loudly.

“Don't worry, Okuro, somebody is out there trying to save us…or possibly looking for an opportunity to do so,” Nari believed as she held onto her son tightly. “It's nice to know that at least someone is watching over us after all these years.” Pulling back from her son a moment, she cupped his dirty cheeks to look into his eyes. “That demon didn't hurt you when he brought you to me, did he?”

Okuro shook his head as he held onto his mother's wrists that were close to his face. “No,” he answered quietly. “Are we going to leave? I want to leave here.”

Sighing softly, Nari brought her knees close to her chest with a light shrug. “I don't know, baby. I sure hope we get out of here soon.” Moving some of her hair behind her ear best she could to get it out of her face, she looked at the broken window that Yoko Kurama ordered to be replaced. Since it was too late for anyone to do anything about it, the fox demon merely planted some of his seeds off to the side of the waterfall that crashed not too far away from them so the plants could grow and create a thorny barricade for those who wanted in or out. “There was a demon that came here looking for me,” Nari explained further to her son as she looked to him once more. “I am hoping…he will be the one to help us be free…”

“Another demon?” Okuro wondered as he looked out the window that was boarded up by thorn covered vines. “Was he from Yoko Kurama?” He wondered in his broken sentence.

“No, no, I don't think he was from this group,” Nari answered softly. “He attacked Yoko Kurama, so I don't think he is…I can only pray he is not. I've been in this hell for far too long and I don't want you remaining in it any longer than I have.”

Okuro grabbed onto his mother's closest leg to embrace it best he could. “I want us to leave too. I want you to be happy.”

Nari tried to smile for her son but it hurt to do such a thing as she looked down at him there close by. “Oh, honey, it's been awhile since mommy has expressed…happiness.” Helping Okuro into her arms so he could rest upon her if he wanted, she sighed a bit with a shake of her head. “And I don't know if I will ever experience it again.” Her fingers coming across the necklace she made for Kuronue and gave to her son, she couldn't help but frown further as she thought back on him during the night.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Nari and Okuro slept together on the wooden floor during the remainder of the night and well into the morning hours. It was a peaceful sleep regardless of the raging storm that continued until at least the crack of dawn where it finally parted and went onward. Whatever was going on with the demons took them well into the morning hours, allowing the two weary sleepers a few extra hours. It was one of the few mornings where Nari could actually wake without someone yelling in her ear or kicking her in the side or face. It was nice to wake to nothing but the muffled sound of the waterfall and the sound of birds chirping as she pushed herself steadily upward to look at the quiet room about them.

Gazing down at her son, she ran her fingers through his blended hair of blond and silver that made it the color of blondish, white to those who looked upon it as she wondered what went on while she was asleep. As she continued to pay attention to her sleeping boy, voices arose behind the door and two of them sounded like Yoko Kurama and Yomi out of the four she could hear.

“I am telling you, those demons left,” one of the odd voices remarked behind the door.

“I am not taking any chances,” Yoko Kurama hissed as he stopped at his door in the hallway. “I know there was more than one here! I could sense them all!”

“What do you want us to do, Yoko Kurama?” Yomi asked angrily at the annoyances that were now in their life.

“I want two demons to play as guards every morning and night,” the fox demon explained loud enough for Nari to hear. “That bastard detective somehow figured out where we are and now Koenma is sending his own demonic mutts to trail onto our asses.”

“I bet it was Kuronue who spilled it when he was killed,” one of the other foreign demonic voices remarked in the background.

Having to be reminded of his friend's death, Yoko Kurama wasn't too pleased as he growled at the demon who dared suggest such a thing. “Kuronue would never betray me! He would hold his tongue for the sake of our friendship and that's more than I can say for anyone else here!”

Everyone was quiet, including Nari as she continued to be all ears at that moment. Her hand pressing against her bare chest, she thought on Kuronue and released a sigh of sadness at having to be called to the bat demon's death again. While tears threatened to spill, she dared not let them as she bit at her lower lip.

“Now,” Yoko Kurama demanded angrily, “do as I say and alert the others.” The other demons with him left to do as the leader asked of them as Yoko Kurama opened the door to reveal that Yomi had still been standing there. “As for you, Yomi, you are taking the runt and her abomination to your bedroom. I have watched them long enough and have no use for them.”

Having that grace her ears Nari held onto her son tightly, allowing him to wake as she was forced from her spot there on the floor. The chain untied from the bedpost and handed over to the multi-horned demon, she merely looked down at her feet so as to hide the anger she feared she might express to him and be punished for.

Okuro lifted his ears slightly as he opened his eyes to the coal black haired demon they would be traded to. He didn't like the look of it as he tried to hold back his growl that was bubbling up within his throat.

Grabbing onto Nari's chain tightly, Yomi jerked her forward as he eyed the fox demon curiously. Not saying a word to his leader, he looked down at his slave with a smirk upon his faced. “Come on, wench,” he grumbled with a tug to her chain and collar. “I am filthy from my time out during that storm so you get to draw my bath for me.”

Joy, Nari thought sarcastically as she was pulled away from Yoko Kurama. Looking over her shoulder once more at the silver fox, she could only question what was going on with her eyes before the door was closed behind her.

Yoko Kurama turned towards his bed as he rested his palms there upon the bedcovers to think on what had recently gone on. “Open up to her, that's all I can ask for, Yomi. Knowing your high and mighty attitude lately, I wouldn't doubt you will sooner or later.” The demon was still having a difficult time trusting Yomi as he was still going underneath his nose to do his own raids against his word. All he could do now was hand Nari over and pray that Yomi would slip up with her.

Nari hurried to keep up with Yomi as he pulled her down the hall against her will. Her bare feet digging into the plush carpet that lined the floor below her, she tried not to fall on her face every time the demon got ahead of her and tugged on her chain harshly to make her quicken her pace. The many doors that passed by her as she was dragged to the new bathing area almost made her dizzy. It was like she was in an endless hallway or a funhouse of some kind that had endless rooms that only opened up to another set of hallways. She could never get used to the largeness of the mansion.

Yomi eventually turned off down into another hall of the few he had been within as he entered the first door on the right where the large bathroom was. White marble littered the area and decorated everything including the tubs that littered the bathroom and the four sinks there on the right of the entrance. It was obvious that the water demons had a lavished life there in Makai and it was so savagely taken from them all thanks to the greed the demon thieves shared.

Turning around, Yomi grabbed onto the chain to pull Nari deadly close to his face. “Put the boy down and tend to me,” he hissed as his warm breath caressed her face.

Nari merely nodded as she held her tongue by biting it, nearly drawing blood from it as she did so. Turning around, she placed Okuro there on the chilly, marble flooring with her finger placed to her lips. “Don't make a sound,” she pleaded of her son softly before turning towards Yomi with her hands folded in front of her.

“Now get your ass over to the tub and get the water cool or I will make you regret it,” Yomi threatened as he pulled Nari from her son once more.

Being pulled to her feet, Nari hurried over towards the bathtub to start the water once she figured out how to try and get it just right for her overbearing master. The water crashing within the marble crafted tub that Yomi wanted out of his choosing, she continued thinking on the letter she sent Suzuka, worrying about that note for she would need an answer to try and take down the cunning Yoko Kurama. Her fingers feeling of the warming water, she messed with the knobs of hot and cold to try and make it satisfactory for her master as it finally filled up the marble tub.

Wiping her wet hands on her thighs, she stood up to look at Yomi best she could without frowning. “Is there anything else you want me to do?”

Yomi stared deep into Nari's eyes and listened to her voice with his acute hearing. Without warning, he slapped the woman with his hand harshly as it drew a bit of blood from the corner of her mouth as he did so with such force. When the stunned human eyed him confusingly, he narrowed his eyes at her. “You ridicule me with your wrenched human eyes and mouth. You best watch both or your son will be the one to pay for it.”

The thought of her son being punished now on her behalf Nari averted her eyes from her master and held her bruising cheek with her palm. She had grown so hard and cold towards the demons and their abuse that they had shifted their attention to her son lately and filled her head with threats of killing him or abusing him if she dared make a wrong move. It pained her as she tried to correct the tone of her voice for her and her son's sake. “Should I remove your clothing, Master Yomi?”

“Don't ask, just do it,” Yomi demanded as he grabbed back onto her chain to make her look back in his direction.

Grabbing onto his sash that kept his attire on, Nari closed her eyes as she sighed inwardly at the thought of freedom. Please, whoever listens to my prayers…just save us. We have all suffered enough.

The bath lasted for awhile and not without its hair pulling and marks added to her body when Nari did wrong. After the long session in the bathroom, she was hauled back towards the demon's room where she was pushed in with a shove to her shoulder. Nari caught herself seeing as she had her son in her arms and she feared landing on him. The door closed behind them, Nari released her son on the floor as the demon was quick to grab back onto her collar and pull her towards his bed. Fear of being choked by the tight neck shackle she wore, she grabbed onto it to try and pull it from her throat as Yomi pulled her across the floor. Coughing a bit at her esophagus being abused by the cold iron worn around her neck, Nari got to her feet with Yomi's help before being pinned down on the bed.

“Tell me, you bitch,” Yomi hissed as he was there, right in her face, “what does Yoko Kurama hope for you to do for him?”

“What—what are you talking about!” Nari asked as she tried to look away from the horned demon that made her stomach churn in sickness.

“I am no fool as Yoko Kurama wants to believe! He is giving you to me for something, so what is it?” Yomi asked once more as he grabbed onto her chin to force her eyes to meet with his.

Nari knew it was best to act clueless regardless of what it would give her in Yomi's possession. She knew if she opened her mouth on what she thought was bugging Yoko Kurama, the fox demon would kill her without hesitation. She shook her head quickly and furiously, “I don't know what you're talking about!”

Yomi eventually released Nari's chin as he pushed himself up to look down at the battered woman there upon his bed. “I have reasons not to trust a conniving human seeing as you have been sneaking around for something. And yet, Yoko Kurama refuses to punish you from what I see.”

“How should I know what is going on,” Nari asked boldly as she attempted to sit upright. “I am being used by both you demons.”

Having to hear that tone once more, Yomi grabbed onto her shackled throat to push her downwards back upon the bed she was previously resting upon. “Watch your tongue, bitch.” His eyes gazing up at the clock in his bedroom, the demon smirked at the time as he used the tip of his nail to outline her face with it, nearly tearing the flesh as he did so. “Well, we have a few minutes together so we might as well make the best of that.”

Nari didn't say a word as she locked eyes with the beast that had her pinned to the bed. She knew what he was after as she lied there, sprawled out and ready for his use and his alone at that moment. She allowed the demon to touch her body as he pleased even if it disgusted her. Nari could feel his claws feeling of her naked form and she dared not make a move at that moment as she turned her head to the side to try and ignore the feel of him.

Yomi's hands felt the contours of Nari's abused body as he bit gently, for the time being, on her right shoulder. His hands moved down towards her inner thighs where he marked her yet again with his sharp nails making her flinch as he did so. A grimace merely was expressed as he pulled back from her shoulder he bit, marking it with his teeth and drawing blood as he did so. Her crimson blood marred his fangs as he grinned at her through her messy hair. “You tense so easily and all I did was taste your tainted blood,” Yomi insulted as he forced a kiss upon her mouth to mark her lips in her own blood.

Nari looked at Yomi out of the corner of her eye once he kissed her. She wanted to throw up at the mere taste of his saliva but she dared not with her son in the room. Inhaling sharply, she tried to keep whatever she had in her stomach there as he marked her face with the blood upon his lips.

The demon could feel and sense her displeasure which fuelled his arousal. He cared not for the woman's body and not what she could do—he merely enjoyed tormenting her and making her suffer. Seeing such things was how he reached his sexual pleasure. Pulling on the chain in his hand, Yomi ordered Nari up to her feet as he stepped back in his full attire. “Get up, you runt,” he demanded.

Doing as she was ordered, Nari got to her feet before being shoved down to her knees there upon the hard wood floor. Kneeling before the demon, she watched him closely as he untied his sash before her. It surprised Nari very little as she remained there waiting for him to expose his concealed organ to her. It may have disgusted her to think of taking him into her mouth but she had no other option.

His sash removed and his clothing as well, Yomi grabbed onto her chain to pull her towards his exposed manhood. “You better do this right or your little runt will pay for your failure to please me.”

Her expression was void of any kind of clear emotion as Nari grabbed onto the base of his member from where she was kneeling there upon the floor. Careful with her nails, she took the head of his member into her mouth to engulf it in the warmth of her mouth. She tried not to throw up with the taste of his sensitive skin there nearly down her throat the more she worked him. It was difficult, however, with how much anger she had for him. Closing her eyes tightly, she suckled upon his swelling flesh harshly almost tempted to drag her canine teeth across his length to make him pay for all he had done to her. But Nari didn't as she held tightly onto the demon's sides as her saliva coated his organ to the best of her ability.

Yomi grinned ear to ear as he watched the helpless woman be forced to please him when he knew how much she despised him. Grunting from the feel of her trying to take him all in as he often ordered her to do in the past, he pushed her back harshly with his palm gracing her forehead. Not bothering to warn her at all once Nari was forced away from his erected manhood, the dark seed of the demon released and clung to the ill-treated woman's face.

Nari closed her mouth and eyes quickly at the feel of the slimy substance gracing her face, acting as though it was mere poison to the touch and she feared getting it in her mouth and sight. She attempted to wipe it off but the demon grabbed onto the wrist of the hand that dared do so. The demon's grip tightened around her weak and fragile wrist, making her squirm and almost bow down to his feet as she released a brief cry of displeasure. “Sorry…! I won't do it!” She announced wearily and fearfully.

“You better not, you stupid whore,” Yomi growled as he finally released her. “You are marked from the inside out by me and you deserve to sit and stew in my release till I return.” Grabbing onto his clothing, the demon worked on redressing himself before making it to the door of his room so he could part for the day. “If you've removed it before I get back, I will punish you for your actions.”

Nari remained there on the floor, resting on her side as she waited for the door to close. When the sound of it finally rang within her ears, she pushed herself up on her side to wipe the substance the demon left off of her face. A furious growl was expressed as she threw it off of her fingers with her son watching just around the front of the bed. “UGH, I fucking hate him!”

Okuro watched cautiously from a safe distance as he lifted his coal black ears slightly to the words of hate his mother expressed. “Mommy…won't you get in trouble…?” He wondered as he looked over his shoulder at the door that had recently been shut in fear of Yomi returning.

Looking to her son, hating that he had to witness that, she opened her arms a bit to him to allow Okuro to come inside of them if he wished. She watched as he crawled closely towards her and rested within her naked form. “I don't care at this moment…I just want to get out of here,” she stressed as she tried to hide her pain in her son's hair.

The young mix-breed pulled back from his mother after a moment as he groaned miserably up at her. “I am hungry. When are we going to eat?”

Sighing a bit at the fact that there was no food nearby, Nari eventually eyed the door there that led out into the mansion's many hallways. “I'll tell you what, sweetie, as soon as the hour passes, I will try to go out and get you something to eat. How does that sound?”

Okuro could only frown at the answer seeing as his stomach was bothering him, and he craved food. Eventually he nodded as he rested his head there upon his mother's chest that was so bony thanks to malnutrition. “Alright, I can wait.”

When the clock in the room struck the coming hour, Nari pulled from her weary son and got to her bruised feet to head to the door while Okuro slept there upon the floor. He was exhausted from not having any food lately and took the time to sleep. The boards creaking underneath her, Nari made it to the door that she opened slowly to see if anyone was down the hallway Yomi's room rested within. Spying nobody thus far, Nari was quick to hurry to the door at the end of the hallway that she knew would lead her close to the entrance of the mansion.

Nari's bare feet tapped furiously against the wooden floor that seemed to travel on forever as she finally made her way to the large dining hall that was empty. The food was there near the double doors making Nari rush over towards the fruit, meat, and vegetables that had been kept out. Once she made it to the table that displayed such foods, she got nervous and nearly fainted from fright. She could hear demons just outside the door—several of them, in fact. It made her want to run and hide under the table to hear so many so close but she couldn't…her son needed food or he would starve. Gathering her courage, she hurried to the food to start stealing a few things for Okuro that was waiting back in the bedroom.

As Nari was quickly putting items into her arms, a tapping sound at the windows startled her and nearly made her drop everything. Her heart thumping quickly at having such a scare, she looked over at the windows wondering who would be outside. Her green eyes looking at the windows that lined the area, Nari inhaled a sigh of relief at spying the cockatiel she had sent out to Suzuka. She wanted to rush outside to grab the note she could clearly see, but her exit was blocked by quite a few demons just beyond the double wooden doors to her right. The human woman had no other choice but to try and open the window without being heard.

Keeping low to the ground, she made her way to the windows to try and force them open with what little strength she had. “Come on, come on,” she begged silently as she tried to get them open. After much pulling on the resistant window one finally cracked open forcing Nari to get aggressive towards it as she was almost outside to the bird that had what she had been waiting for.

The window moved a bit more under Nari's persistence but the double doors up front steadily creaked open causing her to panic and hurry over to the lengthy dinning table with the food she had stolen. She knew if a demon caught her out of her room and with food as well, she would probably be thrown out to die in the hell that was known as Makai. Nari tried to keep quiet and even threatened not to breathe knowing that the demons would be able to hear it and would catch her. The two demons walked through the area, chatting about nothing of interest to Nari who remained hidden under the table best she could. She hoped and prayed they wouldn't catch her as she tried to remain calm.

The demons stopped at the door that would lead to a hallway full of other doors and stairways. It frightened Nari as they seemed to go quiet and stand there for a moment. She feared at that moment that they might have smelt her there within the room as she bit her lower lip in worry.

“What is it?” One of the male demons asked as the door could be heard opening.

“Nothing,” the female responded as Nari watched their feet from where she was hiding under the table. “It just smells in here. I think that food is rotten and needs to be thrown out. Something sure smells like it has rotted.”

Nari knew they were talking about her dirty body that she had obtained no thanks to the lack of being bathed. But she said not a word, waiting for the demons to leave the room so she could tend to the bird that was still waiting outside for her. She waited patiently though nervousness raked through her body as she remained hidden in the dinning room and, eventually, the door shut behind the two and the room was empty yet again minus Nari.

Crawling out from under the table quickly, she hurried back over to the window to force it open when she put the food down on top the table so she could use both her hands without problems. Eventually the window moved further up and Nari could slip out to call to the bird she had been so eagerly waiting for.

“There you are,” Nari whispered as she outstretched her arm to accept the cockatiel and allow him to roost upon her fingers.

The cockatiel quickly flapped over towards Nari and perched on her wrist with the letter there in his beak. His talons moving along her arm, he showed the human woman the piece of paper while releasing a muffled tweet.

Taking the piece of paper, Nari quickly opened it to read what was there seeing as she feared being caught.

Nari,

The Makai plants you asked for are listed below and what they will do is written beside them. I suggest you use them wisely and good luck to you.

The Beautiful Suzuka

Nari didn't have time to read what each one was as she looked to the bird in her hand. “Thank you, buddy,” she whispered in relief at the response given to her. “I am hoping now I can free us all from this place.” Giving the bird a few scratches with her index finger, she let the bird fly free without a message to give him as she made her way back inside the mansion's dinning room.

The cockatiel tweeted before taking flight once more to head back out into the forest of Makai. He had done his job and now all he had to do was survive the flight back to Suzuka's house where he knew he would be taken care of.

Taking the note and slipping it into her collar that was tightly placed about her neck and could hide the slip of paper, she stepped back into the dinning room to close the window behind her quietly. Once the window was closed after much struggling with it, again, she grabbed back up the food she had picked out for her son and hurried to the door in the back of the room that she cautiously opened. Due to the demons that had left through that door, Nari worried about being caught by them so she was careful all through the hallways she took.

Eventually, after several turns, she found Yomi's room once more and opened the door to quickly let herself inside with the food there in her scarred arms. Closing the door quietly so as not to alert anyone, Nari hurried to her son and gave him the peaches and bananas she managed to carry. “Here, Okuro,” she said hastily to show her fear in her tone as she peeled the bananas for him. “Eat what you can. I am going to have to hide the rest of it so we won't be punished for sneaking food.”

Okuro took the bananas that were peeled for him, nibbling on it as he eyed his mother. “Why don't you eat?”

“I can't, baby,” Nari sighed seeing as the thought was tempting. “If I eat anything, my masters will smell it…I can't do anything without their say-so…” Slipping the paper out of her collar, Nari looked through it to remind herself that her freedom was coming; she just had to be patient.

--------------------------------------------------------

Throughout the coming hours, everything was relatively quiet. Nari waited for Yomi to return but he never did. Okuro had fallen asleep after he ate what food she managed to snatch for him. The remainder of the foods she threw outside so she couldn't be caught for sneaking out and stealing rations her masters didn't give her. Her knees up to her chest, she kept her eyes upon the clock to notice it was nearing midnight. This surprised her seeing as Yomi had been gone since late that afternoon or so. Even on raids Yomi and the others never took that long.

“I wonder what happened,” Nari asked herself softly as she kept eyeing the clock.
Eventually the door to Yomi's room opened but the horned demon wasn't the one standing there—it was Yoko Kurama. It confused Nari and startled her to see the dense outline of the silver fox demon standing in the doorway of the darkened room and hall. The demon entered the room without a thought in the matter as he reached down to grab onto Nari's chain that he could spy on the floor. “Come with me,” he ordered in his deep, eerie tone. “You will remain with me from now on. Yomi is no longer your master.”

Getting to her feet, Nari picked up her son and followed the fox demon out into the hallway they were within. It was densely lit and hard to see anything even with the candles lit. It frightened her as she held her sleeping son close to her body, looking up at the demon before her confused. “Master Yoko Kurama, what happened to Master Yomi?”

“He's dead,” Yoko Kurama answered simply without a hint of care in his tone. “I killed him. He has disobeyed me enough and has suffered for his actions.” His narrow, gold eyes looking over his shoulder at the woman, he glared at her through the thick darkness. “And if you disobey me too, I will kill you without thought regardless of what use you are to me.”

Nari could only look down at her feet to hide her glower in return to the demon. Not if I kill you first…
