Thoughts of You

"Are you sure Kurama?" Yusuke asked. I nodded my head for the sixth time. Sometimes he really didn't get the picture.

"Yes I'm sure Yusuke. It's only 1:30. We should have a good four and a half hours to spend there," I told him. You would enjoy a water park, even if you hated water. Yusuke shrugged his shoulders.

"Let me guess," I said before he could let a sound exit his open mouth. "It's your funeral."

"Exactly," Yusuke said. "Have fun!"

Yusuke turned on his heel with a wave and headed towards the group. Everyone waved as I waved back. I sent them a glare. Yukina shouted "Have fun Hiei!" and you waved back at her. You turned away from them to follow me.

"First things first," I began. You rolled your eyes at me. I hid a snigger. "We need to buy you a swimsuit."

"A what?" you replied. I chuckled. You sent me your `what?!' glare. I smiled at you. You twitched.

"A swimsuit," I replied. We were close to my car. "It's a pair of shorts that you wear to go swimming."

"Swimming?!?!?!" you screeched. I cringed. That was loud. I looked at you, you hadn't moved since I had said swimming. I sighed and headed back to you.

"Yes, I thought it would be nice to go to a water park for the remainder of the afternoon," I said, I put on my brightest smile. You twitched again. "Please Hiei…"

You walked past me. I smiled. That was as much of consent as I needed. I jogged to catch up to you. I put my arm around your shoulders. You slid out from under it. I laughed.

"We're going to have to buy you a pair, you know," I continued after I had gotten you in the car, and seat belted in. "We have to go to the mall."

"No," you said. "I am not going to be surrounded by thousands of Ningens in a building, buying clothes."

"Please Hiei," I gave you the puppy eyes. You caved. Of course I didn't get another word out of you though.

"How do you think Hiei will react to the water park?" Yusuke asked Kuwa. The taller shrugged.

"I guess, under normal circumstances, he'd toast the person who had suggested it. But this is Kurama who suggested it. I think that Hiei will fall prey to the old "Puppy eyes" trick. Besides, if he really likes Kurama he'll do it because he wants to," Kuwa answered. Yusuke stared at him. Yukina squeezed his arm.

"Didn't know you knew about relationships," Yusuke muttered. Keiko smiled and walked up to Shizuru, who was ahead of the group. "Can you help me with mine?"

"I heard that Yusuke!" Keiko shouted. Yusuke turned and ran for it. Keiko wasn't that far behind. Kuwa shook his head.

"That's exactly your problem!" He shouted back at him. Yukina giggled.

"Sis?" Kuwa addressed Shizuru.

He can't like Hiei… Shizuru thought.

"That'll be $35," the girl said. I reached for my wallet. You stared at the water park in amazement. You shivered, probably from all the water. I pulled out my wallet and fished out $35. I handed it to the girl with a wink. You snorted.

"Thank you, come again," she said dreamily. I love doing that! To see them drool over me makes up for the fact that you don't. I winked as I handed our tickets to the girls at the entrance.

"I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me?"

"I love this song!" I exclaimed. You raised an eyebrow. I shoved you into the nearest bathroom. I took the bag and pulled out our swimming trunks. Yours were black (like they'd be a different color); mine were red with a blue rose. You cocked an eyebrow at me.

"Put them on," I told you. I walked into a stall and did just that. After I had changed, I put my clothes in the bag. The door slammed as you walked out. I turned to face you, your face was red. I smiled. You still had your shirt on. You handed me your other clothes, including boots, and began to walk away. I hastily put them in the bag. I grabbed you from behind and tore your shirt off (taking the opportunity to feel your chest). I turned away blushing, and put it in the bag. I took the bag and headed for the door.

"Come on Hiei," I said.

"Woof," you replied. I laughed.

We got a key, and put our clothes in a locked locker. I snagged some money and went to buy a tube. You followed me. All the girls ogled at us. I smiled brightly at their attentions. Your face darkened. Did you know they were ogling you too?

"A double," I said to the boy behind the counter. He took the money and grabbed a double tube. "Thanks. Hiei grab the other end, will you?"

Thank the gods you did. We headed in the direction of the wave pool. I smiled; this was going to be fun. The wave pool came into view. You stopped, forcing me to stop too. The waves started up.

"Come on Hiei!" I said. I started in that direction again. You didn't move.

"Kurama, what's that?" you asked, a bit nervously.

"It's a wave pool Hiei," I said. "I promise you won't drown if you stay in the tube, and I'll protect you."

You seemed a bit more assured and followed me to the water's edge. I bit back a gasp as the water rushed over my foot. I charged… and had to wait for you to get used to the water. You pulled your upper body through the hole and helped me kick to deeper water. I helped you climb in so that you were sitting in it. I can't say I didn't enjoy it. I did get to touch you. I climbed in after you. We sat as the waves rolled the pool. After they stopped we still sat there. Until my school friends flipped the tube. I surfaced quickly, but luckily saw that you were sinking. I sucked in a deep breath of air and dove under to pull you out. I surfaced with you. You sucked in all the air you could. I shook my head, coating you and them in water. They laughed. You looked at me gratefully. I nodded. They smiled, laughed, and went on their way. A small female population went after them, knowing they were my friends. I smiled and helped you back in, after I turned it over. We sat there for another wave.

"Do you want to go on a slide after this?" I asked you. You jumped at the suddenness of it. "Hiei?"

"Huh?" you answered.

"A tube. One of those tubey, twisty things that you see all over the place," I replied. I smiled at you. "They're a lot of fun."

"Whatever…" you replied. I gave you a hug before I could stop myself. You made a startled sound before shouting `Get off of me you baka fox!'

"Sorry Hiei," I said. "I know you'll like it."

We swam our way to the shallow end of the pool, and from there we got out. We took the tube as we hung a right. I led the way. It was one of the less exciting rides, but I figured I might as well start you on the smaller, less exciting ones. We climbed up the stairs an up to the plat form. We did get a wonderful view from there as we waited. Then it was our turn. I set the tube down and sat in the back. You hesitatingly sat in the front.

"Kurama!" you shouted as we started down the tube. The first curve was to the left. Right, right, left, left, left, right, left, splash! I laughed and climbed out. I pulled the tube to the stairs. You tumbled out.

"Can we do it again?" you asked. I laughed whole heartedly. I had hoped you'd say that.

"As many times as you want Hiei," I replied. You pulled me and the tube to the next ride.

You had taken me on every ride. Every tube ride, every body ride, and even the water coaster. I had never had so much fun in my life, and that's a long time. I hoped it was as memorable for you as it was for me. We were currently on the lazy river. Being lazy of course. I was lounging in the tube, listening to the quiet music, and occasionally looking at you. You were sleeping. I thought it was cute.

"Baby baby it's the way you make me, kinda get me go crazy, never want to stop. It's gotta be you. Uh huh, uh huh. I can't control it anymore. I've never felt like this before. You really make me loose my head. My hungry heart must be fed."

Normally they don't play things like the Backstreet Boys. But for some reason they were. It surprised me. But what surprised me more was that this song fit my situation. I hate the Backstreet Boys.

Damn them! What do they know anyway?! Nothing! It's not like they're going through what I am! Grr…

Stupid. Why does it have to be so true?

Bastards. I ended up being so preoccupied by the stupid song that you dunked me. I shot out of the water gasping for air, which was entirely unexpected.

"That's for bringing me here," you said and climbed into the tube once more. I chuckled and crawled back in with you. I flipped it. You began splashing me, I splashed back. I had enough time to take a gulp of air, go under and pull your legs out from under you. We calmed down after a bit, and after a few whistles, and then got out of the river. We turned in the tube and changed back into our clothes, then left.

"What do you want for dinner?" I asked. You shrugged. "American sounds good. Maybe we'll go to an Applebee's."

"Hn."

"Let's go Hiei."

Hiya. Sorry bout the slow update. Busy, busy. Well, hope you like it. I have no idea if there are Applebee's in Japan, but hey, why not? I don't own anything.
