Sakura walked in the forest looking for the strange bird that had given her the heriseki stone. She entered a clearing where a beautiful waterfall tumbled into a glistening lake which was about the size of San Francisco. A small stream parted from the lake flowing gently towards the city. A few swans floated lazily around, while an iguana swam towards them. Its eyes hungrily scanned and picked the smallest one out. It dove under the water. The swans scattered into the air as blood floated to the top of the water. A huge wave lifted out of the middle of the lake. As it dissipated a huge white crocodile like creature floated with the iguana in its mouth. The croc swam slowly to the shore where Sakura stood and opened its eyes. They were solid white with a slit of red in the middle. Sakura knelt next to the head which was twice her height and took the iguana, which only had a minor cut on its side, and she let it go. Sakura turned back to the croc and nodded. The croc nodded back and sank into deeper water.

Sakura: Shar'a is still as gentle as when he first came.

She went back to the house for the sky had begun darkening and night was coming fast, a little too fast for Sakura's liking. She hurried back and could feel someone's eyes piercing into her soul watching every movement. A slight rustle in some bushes next to her sent her into a full out sprint for the house. Every muscle in her body screamed to go faster, but the no matter how fast she went the sound of footsteps was never far behind her. The pounding increased! It was gaining on her. Sakura's blood fastened and boiled with fear. A cold laughter filled the air. Sakura stopped dead in her tracks; her blood froze with each second. She couldn't move or even open her mouth to scream. Her lungs were squeezing all the air out. She couldn't breathe! The next ball of laughter was so close that it seemed to be coming from her own mind! Fear consumed her she felt her whole body ice over just then there was no sound or feeling of being watched. Sakura began breathing again. It had just been in her mind or had it. She got home and was relieved when she saw everyone was there.

Kitty: Sakura where were you?

Sakura: Out walking why?

Kitty: You had everyone scared

Sakura: I'm sorry

Yusuke: Don't worry about it you okay that's all that matters

Just then a shill yep sliced through the air. Another followed the first even more painful sounding. A third ripped through the air and died fast. Sakura ran outside followed by everyone. A shadow stumbled into the yard. It was Foxy she was badly injured and drenched in her own blood. She had a huge cut on her side which was bleeding heavily. Her fur was all matted and torn. She had cuts all over her face and gashes along her sides and belly. She was walking as if any moment her legs would collapse from under her. Every breath came shakily and no one was sure if there would be a next. She looked up at Sakura then fell into a heap on the ground. Sakura ran and slid next to Foxy, putting her dogs head in her lap. Another shadow came into the yard, covered in blood as well but it was Foxy's blood not his. Leo stood with a grin on his face. Sakura hugged Foxy closer to her as she stared at Leo. Leo took a step closer then Foxy stood up and growled which shocked everyone including Sakura who stood up giving Leo the chance he needed. Leo smacked Foxy into those who where closest to Sakura. Seeing his chance he grabbed Sakura and dragged her into the forest. Everyone went after them, but it was hard to get untangled giving a few more seconds of them escaping. The group caught up with Leo and Sakura. Leo had Sakura in front of him. Her arm was twisted behind her so she could not escape. Leo was strong and had a firm grip.

Yusuke: Let her go Leo!

Leo: Why spirit detective?

The gang was shocked. How did he know!?

Yusuke: Who are you really?

Leo: My name is Leo, but it is true I am a demon

Sakura murmured the word demon softly almost scared to say it aloud. Leo seemed to be satisfied by her reaction to his statement.

Leo: So spirit detective what are you going to do?

Just then Foxy jumped at him and sunk her teeth into his flesh. Leo let go of Sakura and threw Foxy into a tree. Sakura had gotten away from him.

Leo: *irritated* Annoying creature

Sakura: *whispers* foxy

Kurama: Why are you after Sakura?

Hiei stood in front of Sakura in a protective way.

Leo: She is quiet beautiful for a human.

Kitty: You're sick!

Leo: I always get what I want girl...and I want Sakura

A vine wrapped around Sakura and carried her over to Leo. Then the vines formed a cage around her and turned to steel.

Leo: In fact I am an elemental demon

Kuwabara: A what?

Lyn: An elemental demon is a demon that can control all elements

Kuwabara: Still confused

Kurama: Another word he can control earth, water, wind, ice, fire, metal, stone, lighting, plants, and animals

Kana: What I want to know is how come he couldn't control Sakura's dog

Leo: Simple I didn't want to control the weak thing

Sakura looked at Leo with frightened and angry eyes.

Foxy's breathing became even shallower.

Leo: It was an annoyance so I'll just take its soul

Sakura: No!

Foxy stood up with renewed strength and growled at Leo.

Leo: Interesting.

Foxy then fell to the ground and stopped breathing all together.

Sakura: FOXY!

Yusuke: You sick b*st*rd

Leo: It seems I win

Hiei moved with immense speed and caught Leo off guard. He sent his fist into Leo's stomach and sent him flying into a tree. Sakura looked at Hiei frightened and confused. Leo got up and laughed.

Leo: So it is you. Hiei the Forbidden Child of an ice maiden and a fire apparition. I've heard of you and Kurama

Kurama: So you know who we are and you still insist on fighting us

Leo: Yes Kurama you will find me a challenge if not unbeatable

He laughed again. It was a cold laugh of someone who already won the battle.

Yusuke: What makes you think you stand a chance?

Leo: Yomi is an ant compared to me. He has some skill but I am unbeatable

Kana: We know he is weak if it wasn't for that stupid Black Soul of The Lost he would be dead

Leo: But he is still alive and killed Aryanna no less

Lyn: How did you know?

Leo: I fought her once and left her for dead but apparently I didn't finish her

Touya: What is he talking about?

Kana: I don't know

Kitty: Leo stop it!

Leo: I don't think so

Hiei broke the cage with his katana and grabbed Sakura. He disappeared and reappeared behind the rest of the gang. He set her down and then walked to face Leo. They fought for some time then all a sudden, Sakura screams and faints. A barrier made it so no one could reach her. Hiei got angry and went full out on Leo. Leo was caught off guard and Hiei's sword went through his stomach. Blood streamed down the sword's blade to its hilt. Then slowly began to drip. The dripping increased as Hiei twisted the sword. Leo stepped away and the blade slipped out of his stomach. Leo looked at them all then fell to the ground. Smoke surrounded him and when it cleared they saw that it had been a low class demon and not Leo. Sakura remained unconscious for several days. Hiei sat in a chair next to hers. He never left her side. Then Sakura finally opened her eyes. Hiei sat up and walked over to the bed. Sakura jumped and let a sharp yelp of fear out. Hiei looked at her once more. Then he turned away and walked towards the door.

(I scared the woman I love away. She hates me and fears me. Why did I think that she could love a monster like me? How could I have been so stupid? Life is no longer worth living. She will be better off without me. How could I have thought even for the slightest moment that she could love a beast?) I walked towards the door never to see her again. I knew pain just not this kind of pain. I was of no more use to this world. As I reached for the doorknob, two hands enclosed around mine. I turned to see her staring at me.

(Why did I jump and scream? I know he was just trying to protect me. So WHY?! He is like Leo…a person with powers. That is why I screamed. I'm afraid of him, but I…I love him) I watched as he turned and left me. (How can I just let him leave?) I wouldn't let him go. I ran and grabbed is hand in mine. He turned and stared into my eyes with such intensity that I thought he could see my very soul.

Sakura and Hiei just stared at one another for a while.

Hiei: *turned and said softly* I wish I was dead because I scared you away

Sakura slapped him across the face which stunned him.

Sakura: *sternly* If you ever say that again…I swear I'll tie and gag you

Hiei stood there confused then he laughed. Sakura looked a little relieved. She looked at him with content eyes that calmed him. He looked at her with eyes that could pierce the flesh and see the soul.
Sakura: I love you Hiei

Hiei: I'm a monster. How could you….

Sakura cut him off with a kiss. It was intense and Hiei wrapped his arms around her waist. She fell to the bed. Hiei kept his body an arms length away from her. Sakura couldn't stand to keep the restriction on him and her self. She hit his arm out from under him, causing him to fall onto her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and wrapped her legs around his. They kissed deep and passionately. It seemed to last forever. Then in an instant they were both stopped gasping for air. Hiei sat up against the wall and Sakura climbed into his lap. He explained to her about him self and being a demon. She listened intently and asked questions when she was confused. He told her about his jagan eye.
Sakura: May I see it?

Hiei nodded and she reached up. She untied his bandana and gently lowered it. She stared in wonderment and awe at the eye. Just then she remembered Foxy.

Sakura: Hiei, Foxy is she?

Hiei: No, she is alive

Sakura: Thanks
She leaned her head on his shoulder and fell asleep. Hiei wrapped his arms around her and he too fell asleep.
