To Good to be True

Hiei sat in his usual spot in the window sill. Kurama gazed at him. He wished Hiei was his own. He wished that Hiei felt the way he did. He hoped, no, wanted Hiei to feel the same. He sighed furtively. There was no point in thinking about Hiei. Hiei would never feel the same.

*sigh*

"Kurama?" Hiei asked in his deep voice. Kurama turned his head. His heart leapt in his chest as he saw Hiei outlined in the sunset. If that wasn't a sign, nothing was.

"Yes Hiei?" Kurama asked, hiding the note of pleasure from his voice.

"Why did you sigh?" Hiei asked. Kurama smiled beautifully at his best friend. Hiei shook his head.

"I didn't realize how much work I had to do `til now," Kurama replied smoothly.

Hiei sighed and returned his gaze out the window. Kurama started on his work.

Yusuke stared at the small fire demon in front of him in disbelief.

"What?!" Yusuke asked. Hiei sighed and hung his head.

"I need a song on a cd that will tell someone how deeply I feel for them," Hiei said. Yusuke roared with laughter. Hiei calmly watched the human, murder in his ruby eyes.

Yusuke calmed himself after a while and stood up from the ground, he had fallen in his sudden fit of laughter. He looked at Hiei. So the little fire demon was serious…

"Alright Hiei," Yusuke said. He walked over to his cd collection on his dresser. Hiei followed him.

"They're on the bottom shelf. Feel free to use the stereo. I'll be back in two hours," Yusuke said. He grabbed his jacket and exited the room, closing the door behind him.

Hiei glared at the cds. It was going to be a long day…

Hiei listened to the song again. It left him breathless. How true it was. He picked up the cd case, grabbed the cd and made a hasty exit, just as Yusuke came into the room. Yusuke looked about the room, it was a mess. Hiei had left all the cds and cases strewn about the room. It would take him forever to clean up. But, he hoped Hiei had found a suitable song.

Hiei watched as the redhead got up from his desk and stretched. The kitsune moved to his closet and picked out a pair of PJs. Hiei watched as Kurama changed into his PJs. Kurama lay down on his bed. Hiei knew that now was the time. It was now or never. He opened the window, put the cd in the stereo, and pressed song 15 before Kurama even knew he was even in the room.

"Hiei?" Kurama asked quickly. Hiei smiled and pressed `play'.

"You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you," Hiei's deep, sensual voice sang. Kurama's eyes went wide. "You'd be like heaven to touch. I want to hold you so much. I know its love that's arrived and I thank God all my life. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you."

Hiei got on his knees at the side of Kurama's bed.

"Darling the way that I stare, there's nothing else to compare. The sight of you makes me weak. There are no words left to speak. But if you feel like I feel, please let me know that it's real. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you."

Hiei took Kurama's hand in his own. Kurama sat up to meet Hiei's eyes.

Kurama's eyes teared up. Hiei ran his other hand over Kurama's face.

"You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you. You'd be like heaven to touch. I want to hold you so much. I know its love that's arrived and I thank God all my life. You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you."
