To Love an Assassin

A cloaked figure walked along the dirt path guided by the pale light of the crescent moon towards its destination. The figure silently crept into the poor lighted clearing. "I am here as you requested." Said the cloaked figure in a soft, singsong voice. "Here's your next mission, Kitala. I trust you will do well and complete in a week like you always have." Came a gruff voice form the shadows. A small pale hand came out of the cloak to clasp the folder handed to it. "Now go complete this task and come back for your payment." "As you wish." With that she left the clearing. "Soon, Kitala, soon you will get your just rewards."

A young woman trudged to the front steps of her new school in the rain. Her long fiery, red hair, that went to the small of her back, and silver bangs, that went just past her shoulders, were plastered to her face from the downpour. Her pale features were very noticeable in the pouring rain. She walked into the school and straight to the principal's office to receive her uniform and to dry off.

"Class, we have a new student today. Please welcome Kitala Yuki." The young woman walked into the classroom and stood at the front of the room. Her vibrant amethyst eyes scanned the classroom. A few `heys' were heard from her new classmates. Just as the teacher was about to tell her where her seat was, the classroom door opened and four young boys walked in. Kitala turned her gaze to the boys and her eyes narrowed as she remembered to photos in the folder.

~Flashback~

Kitala walked out of the clearing and hopped into one of the surrounding trees to read the contents of the folder. She opened the folder and saw four photos. Each had a profile attached to it. The first was Hiei Jaganashi. The second was Suichi Minamino or better know as Yoko Kurama. The third was Yusuke Urameshi. The last was Kazuma Kuwabara. ~So these are the famous detectives. This should be fun~ She thought this until she read their profiles and realized that they were just like her in many ways. They reminded her what she lost, like her family, due to the evilness of demons. The one she is working for now is the main one. She then realized that she wasn't going to do this mission for she would rather befriend them than behead them. She knew of the punishment, but she would rather suffer this then not know what it was like to actually have a friend.

~End Flashback~

Her eyes lost their fierceness. "Urameshi, Kuwabara, Minamino, Jaganashi, report to detention after school. As I was about to say Ms. Yuki, you can sit between Mr. Minamino and Mr. Jaganashi." When the teacher turned to her for a response, she was already sitting down. "Okay, now on with the lesson."

~Kurama, do you sense something strange about that girl?~ *Yes she seems to have a demon aura around her…a fire demon if I'm not mistaken* ~Thought so.~

~Kitala's POV~

The girl in question, Kitala, was beyond furious that they would talk about her and she was right there! How dare they! I hurriedly scribbled down a note to hand it to Hiei. When I handed him the note, I was surprised to see red orbs staring at me. He took it hastily from me as if I was on fire. When he read my note I knew that I had revealed myself, which is a major don't in the business that I have been forced to work in.

~Regular POV~

Hiei glared at Kitala and snatched the note from her hand. He opened it and was shocked by its contents.

~NOTE~

I would appreciate if you wouldn't talk about me telepathically for I can hear it and find it very rude.

Kitala

Hiei passed the note to Kurama whose eyes widened at its contents also. Kitala watched the rain pour down outside. The teacher droned on about stuff she knew already. She wished she wasn't here. She wished that things could be like they were before her boss came into her life and destroyed it. Before he made her his slave practically. Hiei noticed that Kitala seemed distant and wasn't paying any attention, even though he wasn't either. *What's bothering you onna?* ~Nothing just thinking is all. Um..can I ask you a question?~ *Yes.* ~Are you a fire demon?~ *Yes.*

A/N: Okay I'm going to end it here. Hope you like it. Oh and yes I will have a Yu-Gi-Oh fic out either tomorrow or Monday. Please Review *gets on knees* PPPPPPPPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEE!!
