Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Trapped between two girls. ❯ Caught ( Chapter 1 )
The wind whipped around the girl as she jumped to the side, narrowly missing the dagger that cut through the air and right past her stabbing a tree trunk. She landed on the ground and turned to face her attacker, a rather large and hairy demon who stared her down with piercing yellow eyes. With no hesitation the girl drew her spirit blades, two sharp blades now adorn on her wrists, and charged at her opponent. The creature did the same but the girl was too quick. As she, in a swift motion, crossed her blades across the demons neck and made a clean decapitation move. The demons body dropped to the floor and the head rolled a little as the young girl landed on the ground in a defensive position, her blades were still crossed in front of her. From her position, off to the side of the corpse, the girl turned and looked at her fallen competitor.
"Weak…" She muttered as she stood up and released her spirit blades.
"Who me?" Another girl jumped out from her hiding place, a high branch in a nearby tree. She had brown hair with some black streaks in it and grayish blue eyes that looked worn and faded. She was dressed in baggy black pants and a `the crow' shirt with a black mesh shirt under it.
"No Heather," the other girl stated as she nodded towards the bloody corpse lying on the floor off to the side, "that so called demon over there…"
"What ever you say Kitty, what ever you say…" Heather smiled lightly and watched as Kitty straighten out her black pants and re-hook some of the chains that dangled on them. Her white bangs fell into her face as she bent over but were soon pushed back and mixed with black hair as a soft, gentle wind blew through the atmosphere.
"So…you think they are onto us?" Heather asked calmly as she walked over and sat down under the tree that she had just jumped from.
"Maybe…" Kitty answered as she started to look over the area. Everything seemed calm; The wind blew lightly and the sun barely shone through the branches of the surrounding trees.
"I'm not going to get a straight answer am I?"
"Maybe…" Kitty smiled a small childish smile and walked over sitting next to her friend.
"Well, I think they are." Heather sighed and looked up in the tree. As she did, however, she caught a brief flash of black.
Kitty tensed as Heather started to poke her in the arm repetitively. "Will you stop that?" Kitty asked, clearly there was a bit of irritation in her voice as she poked Heather back in the arm, "Just for a bit of pay back…"
"I think we should split…" Heather spoke to Kitty telepathically.
"Why?" Kitty asked in the same way.
"We have company…" Heather answered as she rose to her feet. Kitty followed suit and looks around, "spirit detectives…" Kitty thought as she prepared herself to form her spirit blades at any given moment.
"Hey shrimp! I thought you said that those two were around here!" A scratchy males voice could be heard which made both girls looks up and then jump up in the tree. As soon as they landed they lowered their spirit energy and hid in the tree concealed by the leaves.
"This should be interesting…" Kitty thought as she spotted four boys walk through bushes and into the small clearing.
"Yo, where did they go?" A boy with black hair, slicked back, asked as he turned around in every direction gazing at his surroundings but ignoring the corpse that now was in a puddle of a deep crimson color blood.
"Urameshi! I knew we shouldn't have listened to three eyes over there!" Another boy with messy orange hair and the same scratchy voice from before, practically yelled as he looked at one of the other boys standing off to the side leaning against a tree base. He had a small scowl on his face and his hand on what Kitty and Heather could see as a hilt of a sword. His hair defied gravity as he shot daggers at the other boy.
The only one that hadn't spoken was walking around examining the area. He had red hair the moved with every step he took. The boy stepped over the body and grimaced slightly the closer he had gotten to it. His bright green emerald eyes shone in what little light was flooding through the tree leaves.
"They are still here…" He finally spoke and looked up from what he was doing and looked at the others.
"What do you mean Kurama?"
"Yeah I don't see any one around here!" The messy haired boy spoke. He put is hand to his forehead and scanned the area like a sailor scanning the ocean.
"I mean to say that they are still here, but in hiding." Kurama sniffed once and then looked at the boy who was off to the side against the tree. "Hiei, where exactly did you see them?"
"Hn, sitting under that tree." Hiei said shortly and pointed to the tree that both Heather and Kitty hid in.
"Okay, here is the plan," Kitty started to say telepathically to Heather, here eyes never left the boys, "one of us will distracts them while the other runs. We will split them up and go from there, and we will meet back here when we're done. Got that?" Kitty turned to Heather and looks at her.
Heather nodded her head, "Monkey feet!" Heather said telepathically and looked back to the boys who were now gazing at the tree as though trying to figure out if there was anything up there.
With one last glance at Kitty, Heather jumped down from the tree landing directly under where she had just hid.
"As long as we stay safe then we will all be fine…" Kitty thought as she too jumped down from her hiding spot, landing next to her friend who was looking at the boys. Kitty then also turned her attention to the boys.
