Akina arrived at the school and made her way to the office. "Um...Sumimasen?" She asked one of

the women at the office.

"Hai?" The woman asked with a small smile.

"Um, I'm a new student. I was supposed to come here on my first day."

"Hai. Follow me and we'll figure out which class you will be in."

"Arigatou." Akina answered as the woman led her into one of the rooms.

"Now, what is your name?" The woman asked.

"Urameshi Akina."

"Alright Akina-chan. You will be in class B with Nakamura-sensei. I'll take you to his room."

"Arigatou."

The woman smiled again. "It's my job. You may wait here if you like. By the way, My name is Yamamoto Nyoko."

"Arigatou Yamamoto-san."

"Douitashimashite."

She followed Nyoko to a classroom. "Just wait here for Nakamura-sensei to call for you. If you need anything, you know where I am."

"Arigatou Yamamoto-san." She said. Nyoko just smiled and walked back to the office.

She waited for about another thirty seconds when the door opened. An older man, near his late fifties, stood in the doorway.

"Urameshi-san?"

"Hai."

"Please come in."

"Hai." She said with a small nod as she walked into the room.

"This," He said turning to the class. "Is Urameshi Akina. She is the new transfer student, and will be with our class for the rest of the year."

"Hajimemashite." She said with a small bow.

"You may go take a seat behind Hanari-san." He said pointing to an empty desk behind a girl with black hair tied into two small buns at the top of her head, with the rest of the hair hanging down.

She walked to the seat and sat down, placing her bag beside her.

"Ohayou, I'm Hanari Tora. Hajimemashite." The girl said with a large smile.

"Urameshi Akina." Akina answered also smiling. "But I guess you already knew that."

"I'll talk to you after class, don't want to risk detention, especially with Nakamura-sensei." Tora said, turning back around before the teacher could notice.

Akina smiled as she opened her notebook and began to copy the math problems Nakamura-sensei was writing on the board. This day had really cheered her up. Everyone she had met so far had been so friendly. She didn't know why her cousin kept complaining all the time. Then again... Yusuke complains about everything.

~~~~~~~~
The lunch bell rang and Tora stood up. "Would you like to eat lunch we me and my friends?" She asked.
"Are you sure? I mean, you just met me and-"
"Just come eat lunch with me." Tora said with a small laugh.
"Okay."
Tora led her outside to a large tree. "Here! This is where I always sit at lunch. Your welcome to come whenever you like."
"Arigatou." Akina said still smiling.
"Don't mention it. I'll be right back. I've gotta go save my boyfriend from fangirls." Tora said with a wink.
Akina blinked a couple of times and watched as Tora walked over to a group of girls.
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO GO THE HELL AWAY AND LEAVE TAKAI ALONE!" She yelled. The girls instantly scrambled and Tora returned with a boy walking beside her.
Akina blinked again. "Uh..."
"Oh, that, I've got to do it every day. You'll get used to it." She said sitting down beside Akina.
"Okay..."
"That's Ito Takai by the way." Tora said motioning to the boy.
Takai seemed to ignore Akina as he leaned back against a tree, looking like he was mad at the world. His eyes we're an unnatural gray colour, and his long auburn hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Akina felt a little uneasy around him, turned her attention back to her food.
"There's Suuichi. I'm gonna go see if I can convince him to eat with us today. He's a bit of a loner. Doesn't talk much. Too busy reading or studying or something like that." Tora said motioning over to another boy. "Poor guy has more fangirls then Takai though."
Tora was right. He was surrounded by girls. He was sitting on a ledge reading a book. His long red hair fell over his shoulders, and his peircing emerald eyes were completly focused on his book. Aside from a nod or two every few seconds, it looked like he was ignoring the girls completely.
"Hey Shuuichi-kun!" Tora yelled over. "Do you want to come eat with us today?"
He looked up from his book. "Ano-" His voice was soft, and it had a slight feminine tone to it, but strangly sounded masculine at the same time.
"You can meet the new girl." She said motioning to Akina.
The redhead sighed, accepting defeat. Once Tora made up her mind, there was nothing anyone could do about it. Exxept maybe Takai. "Alright. I'll come." He looked over at the girls. "I will be eating lunch with Tora and her friend today. You are welcome to come if you wish." He only added the last part knowing that Tora would scare them off anyway.
Tora smiled as Shuuichi(a/n Ok if you haven't guessed by now...It's Kurama, but if you really needed this, You're crazy...) walked over and sat down, opposite the two girls(And Takai I guess but he's still leaning on the tree:P).
He smiled at Akina. "Konnichiwa, I'm Minamino Shuuichi."
"Um, Urameshi Akina."
"Urameshi? Are you related to Urameshi Yusuke by any chance?"
"Hai, he's my cousin. Do you know him?"
"Hai, He's a friend of mine." Kurama answered.
"I would never of guessed you to be one of Yusuke's friends, I mean, your in the top school in the city, and I haven't seen you beat anybody up yet."
Kurama laughed slightly. "No, I guess I don't really fit to his description."
"Anyway..." Tora said getting impatient, and annoyed at the fact that she had no clue what they were talking about. "Why did you transfer schools Akina-chan?"
"Oh...Um, my parents were killed in a plane crash and I was sent to live with Yusuke."
"Oh uh, gomen. I shouldn't of asked." Tora muttered.
"Don't worry about it. You didn't know."
"Do you need anyone to show you around the city?" Tora asked.
"Um no, I've been comming here every few months since I was young. Except a few months ago...Yusuke was on vacation or something. He never did tell me where he went." She said with a shrug.
Kurama nearly choked on his food. He knew exactly where Yusuke had been. A few months ago was when he and Yusuke, along with Hiei, Kuwabara and Genkai, were taking place in the Ankoku Bujutsukai. Not something any of them enjoyed.
"Okay." Akina said smiling. She turned back to Kurama, "So Suuichi, how did you meet my cousin anyway?"
"That's really a rather long story,"
"Oh okay, It doesn't matter then, I'm not really one for long stories, I usually fall asleep."
"Wow Takai, sounds just like you." Tora said with a smile.
Takai glared at her then turned to face another direction. "Whatever." He muttered.
Tora smiled and looked back over to Akina. "So would you like to come over after school, we can do our homework together. You seemed to get that math today. Do you think you could give me a hand?"
"Sure I guess. I've just got to find Yusuke and tell him first, although that's most likely going to be impossible, he's probaly off skipping classes. But if I don't tell him, the next time I see him, he'll kill me."
Tora blinked. "Why's that?"
"Overprotective cousin. I swear he's really bad for that sometimes. He's got the whole Father thing going on. He's all, 'Tell me where your going, call every so often, no dating untill your twenty-five' It's really annoying."
Kurama laughed at the though of Yusuke saying something like that. "I find it hard to believe that Yusuke could act that way."
"So do I, but he does." Akina said with a shrug. "But I guess I should just be thankful that he cares. It could be worse. He could be like Oba-san and never be around and never seem to care. I still haven't seen her yet and I've been here since last night."
"I've got my brother to take care of me." Tora said. "My parents died when a couple years ago, so he's taking care of me. He's such a pain in the ass sometimes." Tora muttered. "What about you Suuichi?"
Kurama looked up from the patch of grass he had been starring at. "Hm?" he asked.
"What about your parents?" Tora said, repeating the question.
"I live with my Okaa-san." He answered. "But she's getting married soon."
"Oh thats great!" Tora said smiling.
Kurama nodded. "We should head back to class." He said glancing at his watch. Standing up.
Takai began to walk, not waiting for the girls. Akina looked at him for a second and then back to Kurama as he spoke.
"So what class are you in Akina?" Kurama asked.
"Oh, class B with Nakamura-sensei." She answered.
"That's right, she's with me." Tora said playfully pushing her new friend over.
Akina lost her balance and almost fell over, she tried to regain her balance by flailing her arms, but it didn't work. She fell over onto the ground. She looked up at the other three, Tora was laughing, Takai was trying to get her to calm down, and Suuichi was trying to supress a small smile.
"Very funny." She muttered glaring at Tora.
"Gomen nasai. I didn't mean for you to fall."
"It's okay, I guess." Akina muttered.
Kurama extened his arm to her, offering to help her up. "Here."
"Arigatou Shuuichi-san. At least your polite." She said taking his hand. He pulled her up and as soon as she was level on the ground again, she shot a glare at Tora.
"Come on, let's get back to class." Takai said before Akina could say anything. He turned and walked back to the school.
Akina blinked. That was the most he had heard from Takai the whole time. Actualy...wasn't it the only thing? His voice was cold, and amost unemotional
"Alright." Tora said, following her boyfriend.
"It's a good thing Yusuke wasn't here." Akina muttered. "He'd probally kill himself laughing."
"But I thought Yusuke was protective of you Urameshi-san." Kurama said startling the girl.
"Oh, Sorry Shuuichi-san. I didn't think you'd hear me. And You don't need to call me Urameshi-san. Just Akina is fine."
"As long as you stop calling me Shuuichi-san." He said smiling.
"Deal." Akina said retuning the smile.
"Hey! Are you two comming?" Tora shouted back to them.
"Well if you weren't walking so fast..." Akina said running to catch up to her.
"Blame Takai. He makes me go for walks every day, says it will give me some exercise. I apparently just sit in the same spot every day without any signs of moving." She said rolling her eyes.
Akina looked at Takai but he didn't say anything
"I'll deal with you after class." He said, voice still demanding, but still smiling. The four students went their seperate directions to thier classrooms. Tora sat back down in her seat, with Akina behind her.
The rest of the classes seemed to go by fast as the last bell of the day rang. Akina yawned as she took her bag from beside her and put her notebook back inside it.
"So do you still want to come over for a little while? I could use that help with math." Tora asked as they walked out of the room.
"Um, sure I guess. I'll have to find my cousin somewhere though. Although I don't know how. Who knows where he is."
"If you would like I could tell him." A voice came from behind them. "I was supposed to meet him and some other friends after school today."
The two females jumped, and Akina turned around. "Oh, Suuichi-kun it's you. And are you sure? I really don't need you to be my personal messenger or anything."
"It's no trouble really. I don't mind. Like I said, I was supposed to meet him anyway."
"Arigatou Suuichi-kun." Akina said smiling.
" It's no problem Akina-chan."
"So should we go now?" Tora asked.
"Hai!" Akina said with a smile. "Arigatou again Suuichi-kun." She said as the two of them walked off.
"I live a couple blocks away, you don't mind walking do you? If you have a problem I could get Takai to come pick us up. He's got a car." She said with a wink.
"Um no, that's okay." She still felt a little uneasy near Takai. "I prefer walking. Doesn't pollute the air as much.
Tora laughed. "So your an environmentalist now are you."
"Hai. That and my cousin almost died after he got hit by a car. It was weird. All the doctors said he was dead and everything. We even had a funeral for him and everthing. But then he suddenly woke up and he was as alive as he was before the accident."
Tora blinked. "That is weird. Oh well doesn't matter. Your probally just glad that he's alive. It sounds like you two are really close."
"I guess." Akina said with a shrug.
"So, who are your other friends anyway?" Akina asked noticing she really hadn't met any other people
"Actually, I don't have anyother friends really. Ever since Takai became my boyfriend, and Shuuichi-kun and I started to have our small friendship. They both have their own little fangirls. It's sickening really. I'm just glad you haven't been acting all fangirlish around the two of them." Tora answered.
"That's awful! They won't be your friend just because your dating Takai and you happen to be nice enough to get Shuuichi-kun to talk to you?"
"I know, but I've gotten used to it. I've been dating Takai for about a year and a half now so I've had time to get over it. As for Shuuichi's fangirls, that really doesn't make sense. For one thing I already have a boyfriend, and I would never dream of cheating on Takai. And for another thing, Shuuichi-kun and I are barely even friends, he doesn't talk to many people. Keeps to himself most of the time. Although he did seem to talk to you for a little bit there, but that may just be because he know's your cousin."
"Probally, he did seem really nice though."
"He is. He's one of the most polite guys you could ever meet. Just don't get all fangirlish on me."
"Never even thought of it." Akina said with a smile.
"Good. I know I just met you today and everything, but I think you're a great friend." Tora said returning the smile. "Anyway. Here's my apartment building. Hope you don't mind walking up a few flights of stairs. The elevators broken." (a/n Have you ever seen the episode of Will and Grace where Karen's afraid of the elevator and makes Jack climb up a couple hundred flights of stairs, but then Jack forgets the cake and they have to go back a couple hundred flights and get it then go back up? ...anyway^^' Back to the fic)
"No problem."
~~~~~~~~

"I'm not really one to complain, but how many more floors do we have to go up?" Akina said looking at the number on the door they had just passed. It read 27.

"Only about three." Tora said continuing to walk up the stairs. Akina muttered something and decided to catch up to her.

"Here we go! Level 30."

"Finally." Akina muttered. She followed Tora out of the stairs and walked down the hall until they reached Tora's apartment.

"Do you live on the top floor or something?" Akina asked.

"Three from the top."

Akina muttered something again and waited for Tora to open the door.

"My brother isn't going to be home for about another hour. So we should get started now, before he's her to bug us." Tora said, taking the books out of her bag and placing them on the kitchen table.

"Okay." Akina said doing the same

Japanese words used in this chapter.

Sumimasen= Excuse me.

-sensei= Used for teachers, doctors, or anyone with a higher education level then you really.^^'

Doitashimashite= You're welcome.

Domo Arigatou= Thankyou very much.

Hajimemashite= Pleased to meet you.

Ano= Well...

Otou-san= Father, can also be seen as Tou-san, much like Kaa-san. Again, like Kaa-san, the most respectful way to say it is Otou-sama.

Notes:

In Japan rather then taking subjects like Art or band during school, the students take them as extra curricular activities, before and after school. They apply themsleves very much to whatever club they pick. I in fact had a Japanese student stay at my house for a week. She was in the band club at her local school. Her instument was the trumpet and I played the flute. She was able to look at my music and mentaly convert it to Trumpet music. I put down the flute and didn't touch it again in fear of anymore embarrassment. Of course many of these clubs take place in the morning early before school. Sometimes even at 6:00 in the morning, meaning that many of them are up by 5:00. Which really sucks, which is why I'm waiting untill after I graduate until I move to Japan. Yes, I am moving to Japan when I'm older. I have my heart set on it. Ever since I studied about the country so many years ago in school. I fell in love with the culture and everything about it. It was then that I began to indepentantly start to learn the language. But starting this fall I am taking an official class^.~ ...But it's not like you really care...enough about my life^^' Gomen :P

Also....I am Canadian so I use Canadian spelling. Like Colour...not Color. And I'm too lazy to think of anything else >.< ^^' Alright...Go Canada!^^

Lily: ...Well how's that for the second chapter:P Hope you guys like it, and remember if you have any questions, go ahead and ask!

Leala: -_-' That's just her way of say Review or Die....
