Unseen Love 4 Welcome to the Real World
Chapter 2

Shortly after entering the misty sky of the world beyond the barrier, Kolita transformed, catching me on her back.
"AHH!" the voices of the two ningens shout from above us as Kolita and I start to head for the castle.
"Idiots," I mumbled as we turned around and caught them as well.
"Hey, thanks for the lift," the orange-haired one smiled.
"I kind of had no choice, you were going to give away our position," I sighed. "Not that you haven't already."
Kolita landed on the ground in front of the large tree that Shuichi and the black-haired youkai landed in and I hop off, dragging the two ningens with me.
"Kolita," I state as I petting her head gently, looking her into her eye, "find them, girl," I beg, "hurry."
Kolita nodded her head and took off into the air, headed towards the castle. A low grumble echoed through the air as green creatures began to pop out of the ground between us and her retreating form.
"Great, just what we need," I mumbled.
"What are those things?" the orange-haired ningen asked.
"Cultivated Ningens," Shuichi and I responded at the same time.
"Say what?" the black-haired ningen asked.
"Never mind," I shook my head as I stepped forward, closed my eyes and prepared for battle, taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly as I moved into position to begin my onslaught of fire attacks on the green creatures. The fire is a living thing that grows once released if not kept under control. It's an extension of the body. It does not come from strength, it comes from the breath, I thought the wise words that I had heard from my Sensei. I gently formed a fist with my left hand in front of my face and inhaled deeply before snapping my eyes open to quickly view the positions of my targets. With their positions and advancement paces memorized in an instant, I turned my body quickly in a circle counterclockwise, thrusting my fist outward upon reaching safe air that was not directed towards the group of allies, as fire began to thrust out from my fist, launching directly towards the Cultivated Ningens, transforming their bodies to charcoal and smoke before the eyes of those behind me. I spun to a halt as my cape caught up with my body and fell loosely around my shoulders.
"That was cool," the orange-haired ningen commented. "Where can I learn to do that?"
"You can't, that's something that only a master of fire can accomplish," Shuichi explained. "I didn't know that you knew about all of this, Sal-chan."
"I've known about this world before I was born. And I've known about you too, Kurama Yoko," I responded as I turned back to the group.
"You know her?" the black-haired ningen asked with a look of confusion on his face.
"Oh, yes, this is my classmate Sukana Salina," Shuichi explained. "Sal-chan, this is Urameshi Yusuke, he's Koenma-sama's new Spirit Detective, and that's his classmate, Kuwabara Kazuma."
"And the short guy behind us is Hiei," the black-haired ningen identified as Yusuke stated.
I grabbed my right fist with my left hand in front of my chest and bowed towards the black-haired youkai as a student would to his/her sensei, confusing the other three in the group. "Let's get going before more of those things come after us," I state as I finish my bow and turn around.
"Hey, where'd you send your cat-thing off to?" Yusuke asked.
"She's on a reconnaissance mission to find the captured girls in the castle," I explained. "That way I can go directly to them and get them out of here before it's too late."
With that, I walked towards the castle as the wind began to pick up around me and I started undoing the clip on my left shoulder that kept the silver cape on my body, allowing it to blow up in the breeze until it begins to fly off of my body. I unfasten the button completely as the wind picks up so much that the only thing keeping the cape attached to me is my hands holding it above my head. I release it and it floats higher into the sky before vanishing before everyone's eyes.
"No cape?" Shuichi asked as he and the others caught up.
"There's no point in wearing a cape in a place like this where it would just get in the way," I explained.
"But, don't you wear that thing so that the youkai won't recognize you when you're in Ningenkai?" Kuwabara asked dumbly.
"There would be no point in hiding from youkai who could no longer pose a threat to me in Ningenkai," I shrugged.
"Huh?" Kuwabara blinked.
"I do not hide from youkai, it is ningen that I conceal my identity from," I replied. "I'm going on ahead."
With that, I began running towards the castle, all the while trying to rack my brain for any key facts that my mother had taught me before her passing about this castle. Within seconds, I heard the pattering of feet behind me and beside me. I looked to my side to see Hiei and nodded my head.
"So, what kind of information do you have on this place?" he asked telepathically.
"I'll tell you as soon as I remember," I responded truthfully.
"What kind of response is that?"
"Give me a break, it's been ten years since my mother died, it's kind of hard to pull facts from that far back when you haven't thought about it," I rolled my eyes.
"Well, you better start thinking hard."
I sighed in annoyance as we approached the gateway into the castle. Suddenly, I pulled to a stop, grabbing Hiei by the elbow to stop him in time.
"I just remembered something," I explained so that he wouldn't start yelling at me. "Let's wait for the others."
The others showed up within a few short minutes and I began to explain the situation.
"All right, Mimamino-san, have you ever heard of the Gate of Betrayal?" I asked, figuring he could probably explain it a lot better than I could to these ningen who had seemed to misplace their brains.
"A little, why?" Kurama asked.
"Good, explain it to them, because we're about to go through it," I instructed as I nodded in the direction of the out of breath ningens.
Kurama began to explain the legend behind the gate and once he was finished, I explained how important it was for only one person to reach up to stop the wall from crushing everyone. I selected Kurama as the one to hold the ceiling since he would be the least likely to forget.
"All right, let's get going. This will be the last thing that I help you guys with," I announced. "But just to be warned. This is the castle of the Four Saint Beasts, Genbu of Earth, Byakko of Thunder, Seiryu of Ice, and Suzaku of lightning. But they aren't the only things lurking in this castle. However, the good news is that you will only be facing two of the four Saint Beasts," I explained.
"Why?" Kuwabara asked.
"Because I have a score to settle with Genbu and Suzaku," I replied. "Now let's go."
