Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Untitled Sequel ❯ Rain and Dreams ( Chapter 6 )
That afternoon, Sensui came out of the building and walked over to Koenma. He was at the moment sleeping. Sensui could tell how low his energy was. He shook his head. He wouldn’t hurt him now, he did need his rest. Then he frowned. Why was he having second thoughts and going soft?
Sensui growled and re-entered the building. He’d think it over later. A little later after he left, as he was watching the monitor, he saw movement. He frowned, then relaxed when he saw Koenma was still asleep. He had put his finger in his mouth, trying to mimic the pacifier.
Sensui chuckled. It was kind of cute. Then he shook his head, annoyed.
“Shouldn’t be thinking like that! If I go soft on him, then there’s no point in this…” he mumbled. “I’m superior at the moment, keep it while it lasts…”
“Talking to yourself, Sensui?”
Sensui growled. “None of your business.”
Karasu sat next to Sensui, looking up at the monitor.
“Hmm… still asleep. I thought you were going to work this afternoon,” Karasu said.
“I was,” Sensui replied. “But my softer side came out. I’m waiting until tomorrow.”
Karasu chuckled. “Whatever you say, Sensui.”
The next day, Yusuke woke up, then sat up quickly. What had happened? Let’s see… there had been a really strange smell, Kurama had said sorry…
“He used his plants to knock me out…” Yusuke muttered. Oh, why hadn’t he been smart and left when Genkai told him to?
“Because I’m not smart,” he said. “That’s Kurama’s job.”
He chuckle and got out of bed. “Hopefully we go back to Demon World and look for Koenma again.”
He looked out the window as he was getting dressed.
“Oh man! It’s raining… but then again, why would that matter?”
“Yusuke, I don’t think we’re going today,” he heard Kuwabara say as he came in.
Yusuke turned around. “What did you say?” he asked coldly.
“Uh… Genkai said we can’t go today…” Kuwabara said.
“And why is that?!” Yusuke yelled.
Kuwabara shrugged. “I don’t know, she just said we can’t go.”
Yusuke pulled Kuwabara into the main room where everyone else was.
“Why can’t we go today?” Yusuke asked angrily. “I thought the sooner we find him, the better!”
“Botan’s not feeling well,” Kurama replied softly. “I’m not sure why.”
“So how does that stop us from going to Demon World?” Yusuke asked. Then he paused. “Oh… she has to make the portal. I bet that takes a lot of energy…”
“Energy that she needs to make herself get better,” Genkai said.
“But how could she get a cold or something? Isn’t she immune to that ‘cause she’s not human?” Yusuke asked.
“I don’t think that counts, Yusuke,” Kurama said. “I’m a demon, but I got colds when I was younger.”
Yusuke sighed. “Fine, we can go tomorrow, or something.”
He went back to his room. Maybe he’d find a yo-yo or something to play with…
“He concentrates too much on things sometimes,” Genkai said softly. “Maybe a day of rest would help him too…”
Yusuke sat on his bed, thinking. He thought it was kind of silly that the temple had rooms in it to sleep in. He had always thought of it as a place to train, not to sleep.
He shook the thoughts away. He was bored. He looked around the room for something to do. There was nothing in the room, though, so Yusuke sat next to the window and watched the rain.
As Sensui was watching the monitor, Karasu walked up to him.
“You are going to take your turn now, Sensui, whether you want to or not.”
Sensui growled. “I don’t know why I’m getting second thoughts. I’m going.”
Karasu shook his head as Sensui left the building. He was distracted. Oh well, if he got too unreliable, he would step in.
“C’mon, toddler. Get up.”
Koenma sat up. “I thought you would wake me up before now.”
Sensui glared at him. “Shut up.”
He tried to hit Koenma, but Koenma moved to the side and Sensui missed.
“You…” Sensui growled. “I guess I need a more serious punishment for you.”
He started a series of attacks, but Koenma dodged all of them. Sensui clenched his fists. This was getting tiresome… then he smirked. It was tiresome for Koenma as well. He was panting for air, obviously having used up all his energy.
“You will pay, toddler,” Sensui said in a dangerously soft tone.
Koenma backed away. “D-don’t touch me…”
“You aren’t the boss of me anymore!” Sensui yelled, then wound up and punched Koenma in the stomach. Koenma tasted blood in his mouth and spit it out.
“Jerk…” he muttered. Sensui laughed. “You’ll be getting more serious than that,” he said. “But I can’t seem to concentrate, so Karasu will be taking care of it.”
Karasu almost hurried outside. He didn’t like what was going on with Sensui. Oh well… you can’t have six personalities and not have problems. He smirked. This would be a fun to vent out his frustration.
Half an hour later, he went back inside with Sensui, feeling considerably better, and Koenma feeling considerably worse. He had done about the same as last time.
“Yusuke…”
Yusuke…
Yusuke sat up quickly. He had fallen asleep in his chair, and just heard a voice. Was it from his dream? Or was it from someone else?
Yusuke shook his head. “If someone else had said it, how come my door’s closed?”
There was a pause.
“Maybe it was Koenma…” Yusuke shook his head again. “It can’t be! He’s not here!”
He groaned and lay down on the bed. “Maybe I’ll take a nap…”
“Yusuke! Can you hear me?”
Yusuke blinked. “Koenma? Is that you?”
“Yes, I need to show you something.”
Yusuke got a picture of where Koenma was. “I need you to find me, Yusuke. They have me stuck in teen form and I’m basically out of energy.”
“You’re hurt, too,” Yusuke said, remembering yesterday.
“Don’t worry about me. There’s also something else. Sensui’s-”
“Urameshi! Wake up!”
Yusuke sat up and his forehead hit Kuwabara’s. He blinked, looking around. Then he saw Kuwabara and narrowed his eyes. “Kuwabara, start running.”
“Uh-oh…” Kuwabara turned and ran out the door, Yusuke at his heels.
“I promise I won’t do it again!” Kuwabara yelled, starting to get tired.
Yusuke growled. “You promise?”
“Yes! Yes, I promise! Now stop chasing me!”
Yusuke stopped running, and Kuwabara collapsed.
“What was all that about, Yusuke?” Kurama asked.
“Kuwabaka over here woke me up when I was going to learn something important… and now I forget what it is… Oh, never mind! Kurama, I know where Koenma is!”
Kurama blinked. “You do?” * * *
So, what’d you think? It took me a while to get the ideas for this, so I hope it’s worth it.
If you didn’t understand the part in italics, it’s Yusuke is asleep, and he’s talking with Koenma.
