Chapter 6: Fortune of the Future Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Thank you so much for the reviews, and to answer a question, yes, Kurama’s injuries will heal by the end of the story, but because they were inflicted by a demon, they will take a little longer than normal to heal. And they will slightly heal, but they will still be minor problems through the story. R&R!
Kurama ran over to the windowsill, ignoring his leg. He opened the window and looked out.
“Hiei? Hiei, why’d you leave?”
“I didn’t want to be seen by a human, Kurama.”
Kurama blinked. He didn’t see Hiei, but he still heard him.
“Umm… what’s going on here?”
Kuwabara groaned. He had forgotten his sister was there. Now she was going to ask a lot of annoying questions.
“First of all, who was that, and what did he mean by it’s none of a human girl’s business?”
“He’s not… exactly human,” Kuwabara said.
“Well, if he’s not human, then what is he?” Shizuru asked.
Kurama, ignoring their conversation, was looking out the window for Hiei.
“Hiei, where are you? Where’d you go?”
Then he looked down.
“Kuwabara? Look over here…”
Kuwabara broke away from his one-sided conversation and looked at the windowsill. His mouth fell open.
“Is that-? Did he-?”
Kurama nodded. “Tear Gems.”
“Ok, I don’t know what’s going on, so I’m just going to leave,” they heard Shizuru say.
“Finally,” Kuwabara whispered.
When they heard her footsteps fade away and then the closing of a door, Kuwabara slammed his door shut and sighed happily.
“Finally!” he shouted. “I thought she’d never leave!”
“Ok, I’m having a total blank here, care to fill me in?”
Kuwabara jumped and looked around. Kurama smiled.
“It’s just Botan, Kuwabara. You’d think you’d recognize her voice by now.”
“Shut it.”
Kurama chuckled as Botan flew in through the open window.
“Well, boys? Care to fill me in?” she asked.
“Well, Hiei was just in here, and before he left, Kuwabara’s sister came in. when Hiei left, I saw these, on the windowsill,” Kurama said, holding out the Tear Gems.
Botan raised her eyebrows. “Are you serious?”
Kurama nodded. “But I don’t know why he would ever cry, no matter how little. And I doubt there was a reason.”
“But there was a reason, Kurama,” Botan said, flipping through her guide book.
“And what was that?”
“You.”
Complete silence followed her comment.
“Why?” Kurama asked at last. “Why me?”
“You don’t know?” Botan asked, waving around the guide book. “Look in here, and you will see, and you will believe it!”
She pointed to a paragraph in the book. Kuwabara looked and read, but it was difficult as it was small print.
Hiei will cry for his friend, then leave two tear gems on the windowsill of Kuwabara’s room. He will leave to the Demon World but then be captured by Karasu and kept against his will until the Spirit Detective agrees to work with Kurama to save him
“Hiei will cry for his friend, then leave two tear gems on the windowsill of Kuwabara’s room. He will leave to the Demon World…” Kuwabara read. He looked at Botan.
“There’s more,” she said.
“But I can’t understand it… it’s in a print I can’t read,” Kuwabara said.
Botan looked at the book.
“Oh darn it,” she mumbled. “I’d better tell Koenma to stop letting those demon future-seers write. Better to let the machine do it…”
She rose into the air on her oar, still mumbling to herself. She then blinked, waved goodbye, and then flew out the window and disappeared.
Kurama sighed.
“Well, Kuwabara, I guess we’re going to be going to the Demon World.” * * *
So, what’d you think? It’s not much longer than the other one, but the next one will be pretty long, if they’re going to the Demon World, right?
Also, tell me anything that you might want to see in the Demon World if you want, so I know what and what not to include.
Hope you like, review if you wish.
Oh, P.S, if you never read this chapter, don’t read this. If you have, please do. I switched the name of who read the book to make it better in later chapters.
