Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ West Side Story ❯ History ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

My name is Hiei Jaganshi, and I'm fourteen years old. I grew up in the ghetto of Japan with my mom. We live right next to this kid, Yusuke Urameshi. Okay, I'll stop frontin'. Yusuke's my homeboy. My mom and Yusuke's mom are real tight. They both worked at the same job- which happened to be a strip joint, but what the hell. Now they live next door to each other. (Which is dumb to say unless you're a friggin' idiot.). And actually, Yusuke's mom still works there when she's not off getting drunk and taking money from cops. But whatever. Me and Yusuke were born a month apart. In case anyone was wondering, he's older.

Okay, so, I live in the ghetto, my mom's an ex-stripper, what am I forgetting… oh, yeah, my dad got my mom pregnant when she was fifteen and since then she hasn't seen him. Or maybe she has, I don't give a rat's ass. The same thing happened to Yusuke's mom, so mine isn't the only one screwed up. Well, Hina actually may be more screwed up than Atsuko, but no one's keeping score. If anyone was, I'd stab them with my switchblade and jack their wallet. And their watch.

Oh, the switchblade. My mom got it for me after our apartment was broken into. I was seven. Great present for a seven year old. It even had my name engraved in the handle. She must have bought that for me back when we had money. Before she started getting drunk and stop working from time to time. Before she applied for welfare. But whatever.

…I think my mom's kind of an idiot. I love her and all that shit, but she's an idiot. Once, I had a parent/teacher meeting at school and my mom showed up drunk and started hitting on my teacher. Now they know where I get it from. But, it doesn't matter since I don't go to school anymore anyway. My mom quit school. She stopped at her sophomore year of high school, so it's only fair that I get to quit in my freshman year, cause I'm a lot smarter than my mom was when she was 15. Besides, high school sucks.

So, that's the story of my life and stuff. I had a pretty fun childhood. I grew up around strippers and I could do whatever the hell I wanted. What else could I ask for? Peace on Earth? Yeah, right.

Me:I did say it gets better! See! I can tell the truth!

Hiei: Shut up!

Me: Hiei! Don't tell me to shut up, or else I'll make you get hit by a bus!
