Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Whisper in the WInd ❯ Whisper in the Wind ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Whisper in the Wind
Falling from the sky
Are snowflakes, each different
Than the one before.
I lean back my head
And feel them clump together
On my pink-turned face.
My dark eyelashes
Are dusted with the pure white,
Crystal angel tears.
Jack Frost has spread his
Paint brush all over this wood,
Cleansing its bare trees.
The wind has grown cold
And picks up, blowing my scarf
From around my neck.
I cannot lose it!
It was a gift this Christmas
From the one I love.
I race after it,
Running with howling wind.
It makes me faster.
I can see it now.
It is wrapped around a branch.
But, alas! Too high!
I prepare to jump
When a hand appears above
And gives it a tug.
Down to me it comes,
The wool still warm with the love
It was given with.
And the hand returns!
From behind it wraps the scarf
Around my chilled neck.
I turn to find out
Whose hand it could be, as stare,
For there is my love.
His pink hair dances
In the wind, and his eyes smile.
His lips do as well.
A covert embrace
And forbidden kiss we share,
Thus cursing the wind
With a painful truth,
One that’s lived for centuries
And shall not now die.
Carry our secret,
Sweet Wind, and spread it to all
Who are still hiding.
Let them understand
That we love them as they are,
No matter their choice.
The kiss has broken
And the snow has stopped for now
On this Christmas night.
