Yusukue and Kuwabara were fighting over a piece of bread when you got back, making you sigh in both aggravation and pity. "Has Kurama come back yet?" you suddenly demanded.

"No--damnit Kuwabara it’s mine! Back off!" Yusukue yelled and your eyes widened.

"I’ll... be back," you said walking out the door as Hiei watched you leave from the corner of his eye. You ran endlessly until reaching a suspicious purple mist. Coughing, you ripped part of your shirt off and used it like a mask as you waded threw. It wasn't long until you spotted Kurama's motionless body. Slinging him over your shoulder, you pressed on while assuring him, "It's gonna be all right Kur-[cough]-Kurama. I got ya [cough]!" You soon approached a clearing near the lake and collapsed, putting Kurama's head on your lap and making him drink handfuls of water. With no response you began to get hysterical. "COME ON, WAKE UP! YOU CAN'T DIE! COME ON!" Your kitsune ears drooped and you petted his hair, speaking again in a softer voice. "Come on, wake up... Please wake up..." Despite the short time you'd know him, Kurama was the only one that had accepted you so far. Always so friendly. You sighed knowing how awkward things would be if this were really the end.

~Kurama's Motionless Body's View POV~
Kurama's body lye unconscious and drained from the poison, but Amaya's tears had awoken something deep inside of him. Sensing another kitsune, and a female at that, caused an echoing pulse to emit throughout Kurama's body, sending him into a seizure-like stance.

~Back to You~
You had stopped crying noticing Kurama's body begin to twitch. However, your relief was quickly replaced by fear as it turned into a seizure, making you crawl away from him. You watched as he transformed into a taller demon, one with long silver hair and dressed in a toga, but that isn't what didn't freak out the most.

He was a kitsune too!

You didn't know whether to be scared or happy; regardless, he let out a tired groan and his now golden-colored eyes were open and fixated on you. The piercing stare sent a shiver up your spine, imobilizing you as he stood and brushed himself off. You could hear the chorus of your own heartbeat as he approached.

"Kurama...?"

"No, I am Yoko Kurama," he said facing you. "Who might you be?"

Your eyes were wide and shaken, but as you got a hold of yourself you managed to narrow them. "That isn't important. What have you done with Kurama? No one has ever mentioned you to me, so explain yourself or I'll consider you a threat," you said coldly, fingering the hilt of your dagger.

His lip quivered amusedly. "Such a brave little kitsune I've stumbled upon. What was your name again?"

You huffed in impatience. “I never mentioned my name, nor have you given me reason to trust you to do so. Now... what are you?” Your hands were now tightly clenched on both daggers. The kitsune seemed amused, but he said nothing. Annoyed and even more impatient, you dashed for him, launching with a dagger raised. He swiftly moved aside as your dagger stuck inside the bark of a tree, causing you to swerve around with a glare. He smirked, igniting your fury as you turned your dagger and pulled it out of the tree, sending wood chips and an unbearable mist into your mouth. Coughing, you started walking toward him, your daggers limp at your side, but your impatience only thickening.

“I’ll ask again. Who are you?”

“I’ll say it again: Yoko Kurama,” he repeated in an annoyed, sarcastic way.

You launched at him and he didn’t even move. Having your dagger at his neck, you cackled, “Well then, Yoko Kurama, will you be so kind as to tell me WHERE THE HELL KURAMA WENT?” Your scream rang through his ears like a screech, making them twitch painfully afterwards.

“You don’t have to worry, Kurama will be back once he’s regained consciousness. Until then, I am in control of his body but in my form. Are you satisfied now?” he asked with annoyance in his tone. You narrowed your eyes as you sheathed your dagger away and turned back to him.

Your expression became blank. “So how...?”

Yoko shook his head and walked beside you. “It’s a long story.”

“Well Red is gonna be out for a while, so I have time. Or do I have to beat it out of you?”

Yoko glared, as if daring you to try, but sighed. “In this body there lies Kurama, Shuichi, and I. I was once a well-known thief, but I exhausted my energy during one particular mission. I ended up in the human world, being reborn as the human child Shuichi. As he grew, he recognized his potential and took on another life as the strategist Kurama. However, he still relies on my power during battle, and there is a struggle for balance. When he’s unconscious I can take over and sometimes I find myself fade in and out for no reason.”

You listened to every word, looking at his expression for any sign that he was lying...but he wasn’t.

“...Fade in and out? So Kurama doesn’t have complete control?”

“I suppose, so I could take over at any given moment but it doesn’t seem to happen too often,” Yoko said sighing. Your expression turned slightly to a look of sympathy and you slapped him on the back.

“Tough luck,” you said before turning to leave, putting your hands at the back of your head as you continued, hoping Kurama would somehow manage on his own. In a blur, Yoko appeared in front of you. “What?” you said that impatiently, but you actually admired his speed.

“I’ve kept my end of the bargain, now give yours.”

“Bargain? What bargain?” you asked.

Yoko sighed slightly. “You could start with your name.“

Your ear gave a twitch. “Amaya Izuru,” you said calmly. Yoko then grabbed your hand and kissed it in one instant.

“Pleasure,” he said and for the first time a smile replaced his smirk, a smile that had you melting by his touch. Your ears straightened and your tail bristled out, your face immediately turning a bright scarlet.
